I was thinking that Peter Vessenes's trolling forcing creditors into becoming long-term hodlers, was actually helping people to get more than the supposedly 56K JPY per BTC pittance from that settlement. But the WSJ article is actually suggesting otherwise and that the case may be resolved soon? Any source/link to that fish diet info?
I don't think the WSJ article suggests that the case will be resolved soon, only that creditors wish that it would be. Fluidjax posted a link to an excellent summary of the case here. That last sentence is about as bearish as fk. Why? The proceedings are in stasis until Vessenes' litigation is either resolved or withdrawn. Mark's lawyer can make whatever sounds he wants. God damn, ol' magical tux looking pretty trim and smug there.

Im slightly confused on how CME will affect the price of bitcoin as there is no actual bitcoin bought in their trades and people using CME are basically just betting on the future price. Or have i got it totally wrong?
The price of bitcoin should converge with the futures price due to arbitrage. I'd expect institutional investors to go long given momentum and that we're at ATHs. It's probably going to be easier to push this to $20K than say $2K. Actually I am less and less inclined to educate people on the facts and prefer to let market do its work, i.e. redistribute wealth from those who are ignorant or got it wrong and yet refused to admit their mistakes.

I'd put the odds at 50% of this happening before the heat death of the universe. We'll have to wait and see.... I think you're overestimating the density of the universe. If you put a straight line from one edge to the other, the probability that you will hit any object is minuscule. |
