1321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin as a retirement plan for my parents on: May 30, 2023, 06:55:41 PM
Since your parents are old and they believe more in saving in banks and other investments like buying stocks, you don't need to put them under too much tension to change their beliefs. Old people are not easy to convince because they are okay with what works for them and will not easily consider any reason to change. Instead of focusing your energy on them, focus more on yourself on how you can better invest In Bitcoins, your parents have lived and faced the results of the actions they made while younger, if you focus on your parents and loose focus of the actions you need to make today investing in Bitcoins, the results you will get in the future, the consequences of your actions may not be too pleasant for you.

Precisely. At older ages, all they need is low-risk investments just to make sure they have enough funds to live comfortably(and probably have inheritance money for the next of kin) until their inevitable deaths, rather than go with higher risk investments to hopefully buy a yacht or a lambo someday.
1322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 77% into the next Bitcoin halving on: May 30, 2023, 06:37:31 PM
Bitcoin's price doesn't rise more than 5%. We are all acting in good faith that everything would run smoothly, we'd take profits and everyone is happy in the end.

Because reality doesn't happen that way. There will always be people that will lose a trade even when talking about a long-term hold. Also taking note that Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency markets are no-where near deserve to be called efficient or "smooth". It's one of the most inefficient markets out there due to how undervalued useful things are and how overvalued crappy things are.
1323  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the most significant trading sacrifice you believe you have made? on: May 30, 2023, 06:06:36 PM
I would like to point out the one important phase that every full time trader is going through which is turning into anti social, because the nature of job is just sit and do analysis and make your money it also applies to all kinds of full time trades but it's more visible in cryptocurrency because personally my lifestyle changed but not to any extreme still I can feel the difference which I will say definitely a sacrifice. Because more we become anti social then there 8s high chance of getting stress, anxiety and others so if someone doing it as full time job then never forget to take an off day.

Fun fact: you can be a trader and still have a mentally-healthy lifestyle. I pretty much trade for a living but still have healthy relationships through my SO, family, and friends. Especially that I do get burned out easily by looking at my screen all day, I frequently go out at night.
1324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Emerges Victorious on: May 30, 2023, 05:54:49 PM
This is classical topic that serves absolutely no purpose, but it seems that basically all of the topics in the „Bitcoin Discussion“ section will sooner or later go in the same direction.

It's the typical there's-really-nothing-new type of thread that's just made in the hopes of getting a single merit. Once you read the word "decentralized" you pretty much know it'll 99% likely be this type of useless thread lol.
1325  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the most significant trading sacrifice you believe you have made? on: May 30, 2023, 05:28:03 PM
Not a daytrade, but a mid-long term one. Noticed how Axie Infinity(that NFT game that got overhyped) was skyrocketing in terms of playerbase by a crap ton while it wasn't reflecting on the token price(AXS, not SLP). Went in with like 90% of my total crypto portfolio. Earned a good amount of money, to say the least.
1326  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How efficiently track spending to gain ration on all coins / wallet ? on: May 30, 2023, 07:31:16 AM
Hey All,
Thank you all for your suggestions.
I think I'm able to create excel file myself since I was using VBA (long time ago).
I might have been wrong but in the times when basically all the apps around us are trying to do everything (including thinking) for us functionality I mention, is close to be base expectation from a wallet. I guess I'm wrong Wink and here more then anywhere else thinking by yourself is still more like survivor skill Wink ... which is good !

Thanks again
M

Just a heads up that CoinGecko has a free-tier public API that you can use. Not 100% sure if it's the best but it works really well for me. Best of luck.

1327  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What's the best and trusted exchange for UK? on: May 30, 2023, 04:54:46 AM
Probably Kraken is probably the most reputable (but not the best in terms of liquidity) exchange for me. I've been following Jesse Powell for a while now and he's probably a CEO that wouldn't take retarded bets using their customer's money. But as always — not your keys, not your coins.

^This is assuming you're asking for a KYC exchange. If not, Bisq or HodlHodl.
1328  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin as a retirement plan for my parents on: May 30, 2023, 04:00:02 AM
Not sure about you guys, but family and investment advice/recommendation doesn't mix that well. If you want to go that path, I'd say go with only like <5% of their total funds onto bitcoin. Nothing more.

I am also planning on buying some Bitcoin when I have some free funds rather than using them for something with no real benefit. Where can I buy Bitcoin at the minimum amount possible like the minimest(I know not an English word) amount possible so I can accumulate easily. Thanks in advance
The answer to this will totally depend on what amount and what country you're in.
1329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I Have Shared About The Benefits Of Bitcoin With My Friends on: May 30, 2023, 03:29:24 AM
I tried to describe the positives and also I have told them about investing in Bitcoin. Told them about how easily they can use it, what are the advantages, also told some limitations like internet needed. Beside them I also told them that day by day there is a huge chance that the price will pump more as Bitcoin is limited and users are adopting massively so if they buy now they may have an additional profits also. I think it's not a poor lesson.

What you're describing is totally fine assuming the person you're talking to is already a savvy investor to start with. But obviously, most people are definitely not and have little to no knowledge about investing in general.
1330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I Have Shared About The Benefits Of Bitcoin With My Friends on: May 29, 2023, 08:23:25 PM
3. Can Gain Huge Returs : I have also shared that you can make huge profits by buying and holding it. But you have to buy when it's price is cheap and it's very easy to use. You just need to have an internet connection only which may be a limitations too. I also told about it's volatility but assured them if you buy at cheap at the end of the day you will win surely.

This is where people mess up. If you're going to teach friends and family about Bitcoin, describe the positives, then make them decide for themselves if they think they can profit off it or not. And you're probably describing it in an oversimplified manner as if you can know for sure if a certain price point is "cheap" or not.
1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your positive and critical viewpoints? on: May 29, 2023, 07:49:27 PM
Causing FOMO as to promote a project sure is a controversial way of marketing things, but it's marketing regardless and can definitely work great if done correctly. Unfortunately for most projects they cause FOMO solely to pump the token price, not necessarily to attract protocol/project usage.
1332  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How efficiently track spending to gain ration on all coins / wallet ? on: May 29, 2023, 07:37:18 PM
If you want something as specific and as custom as this, you're pretty much going to have to use Google/Excel spreadsheets. Something as simple as this you can probably learn in no time! Just lookup some YouTube tutorials.
1333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Throwback: First Bitcoin Website in 2009 on: May 29, 2023, 07:26:35 PM
That was the initial website? Had know idea it was that basic to be honest. No wonder people didn't take it seriously when Bitcoin was first launched  Cheesy

To be fair, a good amount of websites are very html-only like this one back then. And add to the fact that we're talking about open-source projects, in which a good number of devs prefer very lightweight sites such as this one for page-load speed reasons.
1334  Other / Meta / Re: Totally made up story on the gambling section that I want to analyze. on: May 29, 2023, 04:46:19 AM
Pretty much 2 options.

1. Make a reply on the thread: though it'll likely be drowned in the sea of replies, those who are genuinely interested in the thread/topic will see your reply.

2. Create a separate thread on the Meta/Reputation section: do this only if the person you're trying to refute is pretty much in the "scammer" territory and you need to maximize visibility.
1335  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Making a x10 or x100 by short selling on: May 29, 2023, 04:07:25 AM
The cryptocurrency space has LOTS of opportunities — the question is, how will you find them and how will you execute the plan. You could say that shorting utter shitcoins can be profitable, but you also need to take into consideration that illiquidity pumps and announcement pumps happen, which can cause you to get liquidated. That, and add the fact that you're going to need to pay funding rates.

It's easier said than done, to say the least.
1336  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Failed DCA Strategy When Buying Bitcoin on: May 29, 2023, 03:37:34 AM
I believe that this is not the only Bitcoin wallet address of this person, what if there are still a lot of Bitcoin addresses of this? Because if you got a lot of money like this, you are smart enough not to store them in just 1 wallet or address, to be more safety.

Just a heads up that distributing bitcoin/crypto holdings over multiple wallet addresses doesn't necessarily mean it'll be more secure, as you could be just splitting up risk. Sometimes, it's better to put all your eggs in one basket and watch that basket carefully.
1337  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Discussion] Pagbili ng Bitcoin Physically/IRL P2P on: May 28, 2023, 08:09:23 PM
Exactly, unless online seller ng crypto/bitcoin yung kakilala mo. Or maybe just maybe sharing contacts like telegram account for p2p purposes outside binance platform (not physical p2p txs). Pero since same scenario lang since wala pang fee si binance, mas mabuti atang sa binance nalang din makapag transactfor safety purposes.

The only reason to not use Binance P2P is kung praning(very understandable security/privacy-wise) ang isang tao sa AML/KYC. Other than that, Binance P2P is really the way to go.
1338  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Failed DCA Strategy When Buying Bitcoin on: May 28, 2023, 07:49:33 PM
There will always be a losing trade if you choose a very specific timespan — even with the most bullish asset in existence. But if this dude continues on the DC-averaging in, then chances are, he/she'll be in the positives some time in the future.
1339  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Choosing a cryptocurrency pair on: May 27, 2023, 04:15:07 AM
I have used a lot of different cryptocurrencies in my life, but bitcoin will always remain the main one for me
Other coins may disappear but bitcoin never will

Does the coin/token's longevity even matter if we're talking about trading(and not investing) anyway? I've traded a lot of coins/tokens that I have no intention of holding for more than a month; not because they're crap and temporary doesn't automatically mean you can't make money off 'em by trading 'em.
1340  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is Bitcoin always in a state of BULL RUN on: May 26, 2023, 08:09:34 PM
Then Reflecting it back on bitcoin I learnt it is when crypto prices increase rapidly and significantly, so when the bitcoin prices increases what happens to the stock market??

A lot of times (obviously not 100% of the time) — the stock market moves independently, but if it moves, bitcoin mostly follows it. Bitcoin doesn't affect stocks as much as how stocks affect bitcoin.

Which drive me back to this question that "WHY IS BITCOIN ALWAYS IN A STATE OF BULL RUN"BTC

It's simply not. Take a look at bitcoin's chart and tell me if you see that bitcoin is always in a bull run.
