I've never seen something like that before!! Thanks for sharing.
Just one question: what is the link source? How do you get it? Where did you see that?
This is an extraordinary strong attempt os pishing, and this website should be reported immediately, so, if you can, copy here the address in order to other users can check out what's going on there.

Again, thanks for sharing this.
Check the previous page (2)... (in specific, this post that I made)

It is going to be difficult for you to become a member if you post that kind of questions in the wrong place. One advise: read, learn, be patient. And make your comments where they belong.
It's funny that you say that but you couldn't even read the whole thread before making a dumb question.

You also made two posts in a row for no reason (which is against the rules)...

13243  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Choosing Between Payment Gateways on: February 24, 2018, 03:46:40 PM
Here are a few ones that I know:

Coinpayments to accept over 135 cryptocurrencies for a 0.50% fee.
BTCPayServer is a fork of Bitpay, but only accepts Bitcoin.
ShapeShift to accept any coin that ShapeShift already does and immediately exchange for BTC.
13244  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [PAYBEAR] Crypto Payments Service on: February 24, 2018, 03:30:23 PM
Do they have an ICO where I can buy tokens?
No. But according to their youtube intro video[1], they may launch one soon.

13245  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Hitbtc fraud on: February 24, 2018, 03:21:24 PM
Just stop using HitBtc? High fees are not 'fraud' if you are getting warned about them in the first place. If you don't want to lose ~$6 in deposit fees (up to $100 with USDT) for each deposit you make, just stop using them. There are way better choices.

CMC is only a site which we get  very large info.
Are you sure?

https://www.livecoinwatch.com/
http://coincap.io/
https://coinkapp.com/
https://coinlib.io/coins
https://onchainfx.com/

And many more...

I don't think ads will do anything with our opinions as we see it's ad.  All CMC does about ads (if not Google ads) only taking money and showing ad. it's net their responsibility to investigate all ads and then share
It is if they are promoting a scam which only purpose is to steal people's money.

I remember that they used to promote a Bitconnect ad at the top of the page and they didn't care even after the community started complaining about it.
13248  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Core to Electrum 2018 on: February 24, 2018, 02:31:50 AM
Thanks for your reply! That is the first thinig I did, that way it creates a watching-only wallet in which you cannot operate, only watch the transactions of the addresses you Import. I would like to use Electrum to operate.

You get a watch-only address if you paste the Bitcoin address in this step. To be able to spend the coins, you need to import the private-keys (and not the address). Are you sure that you are importing the private-key? If the string is starting with a 1 or 3, it's a Bitcoin address.

You can follow this steps to export the private-keys from your Core wallet: https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/5933

My bad! I actually meant Sweep not Import. When I tried doing that by pasting the address -and corresponding pvt key dumped from the Bitcoin Core console- from which I received my BTC, I got the "error" I mentioned in my post and it says "No inputs found. (Note that inputs need to be confirmed)." Is there a previous step I should be doing?
This error means that there is no spendable coins in the address. So it should be empty. Do the above to see if what you got is really the private-key (and if the address is not empty).
13249  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Core to Electrum 2018 on: February 24, 2018, 01:11:06 AM
Considering that the "Import" function no longer exists on Electrum.
It does exist. When creating your wallet, choose: 'Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys' -> Paste your list of private-keys -> 'Next'.

I dumped the private key on Bitcoin Core from the address I received the BTC, then tried sweeping it into Electrum and got an error message. I created a new standard wallet on Electrum and cliked on Wallet>Private Keys>Import>Paste Address and Private Keys. Am I doing it all wrong? Should I use another address?
Which error message? There is no "Import" option in Wallet -> Private-keys. Only "Sweep" (to send all coins from a specific address to your new Electrum wallet) and "Export".

All I wanna do is avoid transaction fees. Is there a way to import the BTC from Bitcoin Core to Electrum without sending them to an address on Electrum?
Yes. Read the above to import your private-keys.
13250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Portfolio manager suggestion on: February 23, 2018, 12:44:46 AM
How would a Portfolio Manager app that is not the exchange upon which you made the transaction be able to track the exact price you paid without you entering it manually? You're seeking a Portfolio Manager app that is fully integrated with all the exchanges you work with. This would be great, but this industry is way too young to have such integration.
Altpocket does something like this.

They use your exchange API key to see when and for how much did you buy the coin (in USD and BTC). And when you sell it, they close the 'investment' and calculate how much you profited/lost with it. That's how your profile looks like: https://altpocket.io/user/aristant

There is no Android app (AFAIK), but the website is responsible.
13251  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Freewallet 2FA issue on: February 22, 2018, 06:31:19 PM
So I just tried the freewallet link and got a message about user not accepting private messages from newbies.  Any suggestions?
Every user will ignore PM's from Newbies by default. Freewallet needs to enable "Allow newbies to send you PMs." at "Personal Message Options" to change that.

I've PM'ed him with this warning and linked him to this thread.
13252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth to LTC I ned your help on: February 22, 2018, 04:59:42 PM
harizen

I do not see ETH on Cryptopia ?
1. Go to https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Balances
2. Write ETH in the search bar at the top-right corner of the page;
3. Look for Ethereum at the list and click in Deposit ETH (first green icon right next to it);
4. Send your ETH to the address on the screen.
13253  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Transfer to Electrum 2.4.1 address on: February 22, 2018, 11:28:52 AM
I stupidly transferred a few XVG's from an exchange to an Electrum 2.4.1 address.
Look like this version of Electrum no longer connects to the server it has set (stays offline).

Is the latest 3.0.6 compatible with those old transactions address or is this transaction lost?

Thanks,

SB

There is no Electrum-XVG 3.0.6; You are already using the latest version (2.4.1). Electrum for BTC is the one at version 3.0.6

Try to use one of those servers:

e1.verge-electrum.com (ssl Port 50003, not 50002)
e2.verge-electrum.com (default ports, ssl=50002)

13255  Other / Meta / Re: Can Jr. Members in Bitcointalk have links in their signature on: February 21, 2018, 08:56:44 PM
Does anyone have the update on what each level can wear on their signature?

Thank you!
Other than that (Jr. Member can't have links in their signature), everything is the same.

Perhaps the allowed signature styling should change with activity score / membergroup. Like:
- Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 40 characters.
- Jr. Member: Links allowed. Max 100 characters.
- Member: Unlimited length.
- Full: Color allowed.
- Sr. Member: Size allowed
- Hero: Background color allowed

Then newbies will be less effective advertisers, which would hopefully significantly reduce the incentive for low-content posts. And when people become capable of effectively advertising through their signatures, they'll have invested a lot of time into their accounts, and they won't risk being banned by spamming.
13256  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info web wallet holds your private keys??! on: February 21, 2018, 08:05:00 PM
Do you see the address at Settings -> Addresses -> Archived addresses?

And did Blockchain generated that address for you or have you imported it (shown at Imported Addresses)?
13257  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How can we trust Electrum Windows EXE? on: February 21, 2018, 07:17:49 PM
Thanks for your reply. By "vendor lock-in" I mean that I cannot export my private keys out of any hardware wallet.

Yes, I am paranoid. I sign any transaction offline but I still have to trust the software producers. I don't want to trust.
You can[1], but it's not recommended. However, if you are going to use your wallet with the private-keys outside the hardware wallet device, why even have one in the first place? Your best choice would be to have an air-gapped computer with an offline wallet and a watch-only in your main online computer.

[1] Just get your hardware wallet seed, and in Electrum go to File -> New/Restore -> Standard Wallet -> I already have a seed -> Paste/write your seed -> Options -> Check 'BIP39 seed' -> Next.
13258  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger chrome app on: February 21, 2018, 05:52:18 PM
I've got another issue - ordered brand new Ledger Nano S, unpacked it, create new PIN and new seed.
Then I've been trying to initialize Ledger Nano S following these instructions:
https://www.ledgerwallet.com/apps/manager
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ledger-manager/beimhnaefocolcplfimocfiaiefpkgbf

BUT I'M UNABLE TO INSTALL Chrome App to Chrome! Because I got error "packet is invalid, manifest file is invalid" - see attachment.

Chrome is up to date, latest version, no extensions (I use Firefox as my main browser).
I just installed it and it worked fine.

Try to install it with Chromium[1].

Thats a new threat level that I havent though of yet. Is that possible? Can you really combine different alphabets in the address bar?
I have never seen a Cyrillic address or any other alphabet except latin letters.
Maybe some other users can give us some more info
You may want to check this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/7ykzar/be_careful_of_spoof_exchanges_would_you_have/

A quick comment about the issue:

Quote
URL spoofing is a very, very serious problem. The fact that you can even use other non-latin alphabets such as Cyrillic in URLs, results in ultra-sophisticated scam scenarios that are almost impossible to detect. quote: "It is possible to register domains such as ‘xn--pple-43d.com’, which is equivalent to ‘аpple.com’. It may not be obvious at first glance, but ‘аpple.com’ uses the Cyrillic ‘а’ (U+0430) rather than the ASCII “a” (U+0041)". The technical term for this is Homographic attacks.

Although most major browsers have a way of warning users, it only works if the URL uses a mixture of alphabets.

How to protect yourself:

Quote
FYI there is a way to shield yourself somewhat from these attacks.

Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/punycode-alert/djghjigfghekidjibckjmhbhhjeomlda

Firefox: Go to about:config and search for punycode, set network.IDN_show_punycode to true

You can use for example this link to check if you are protected: http://www.umeå.se/

On Firefox the address bar will display the punycode, and on Chrome with the plugin it will show an alert on the bottom right corner.
These are what I use, if someone else uses another browser and know other tips, share them!
