14241  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Icon Changed? on: August 26, 2017, 01:35:50 PM
Yes. They changed the icon to one prettier (thank god).

Here is the commit: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/commit/1e5462dccf3b942befde967481c61f30f7be011a

If you are not sure if you downloaded the real software, you should probably check if you were in the official website and if the signatures match.
14242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best iOS Ethereum and Bitcoin wallet? on: August 26, 2017, 01:21:28 PM
And for Ethereum?
I know 3 pretty good wallets for iOS.

imToken - The best one for Ethereum IMO.
Jaxx - an okay alternative. Not my favorite, but it supports other coins other than ETH.
Ethers Wallet - never used. found in a reddit thread some time ago.

14243  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to claim our BCC in Electron cash? on: August 26, 2017, 12:56:38 PM
Is there a way to specify the bitcoin address manually inside Electron Cash?
Or is there a different way to access the BCC in bch.info?

Could you try to only export the private key from the specific address containing the BCC?

14244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anonymous BTC wallet over TOR on: August 26, 2017, 02:29:35 AM
I want to start over again but how ?

Should I just use shapeshift and send them to a new offline wallet ? Like convert eth to btc and btc to eth and the like ? or should I convert all to monero and then swap from monero to my preferred diversification.
Option 1: Just use a Bitcoin Mixer. Fast and simple.

Option 2: Exchange BTC --> Monero through ShapeShift, and then use xmr.to to exchange Monero back to BTC. Your coins can't be linked back to you anymore.

Those are the best options I can think off if you want to "clean" your coins.

If you are interested in tor integrated wallets, there is a new coin called deeponion in a current free airdop going on, the wallets have tor integrated into everything and is anonymous if you are interested.
And why exactly would he want to buy a shitcoin? It's not like he is going to do anything other than lose money by doing that. Stop shilling for the sake of your signature campaign.
14245  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I woke up and found my Exodus wallet hacked and cleared. on: August 25, 2017, 10:55:36 PM
Well, look at the bright side, now you will be more carefull and choose more secured wallet.
Never trust anyone and keep your password and private keys in a secure place.
I hope you didn't loose alot of money.
Isn't that Exodus is not a secure wallet. If he has a malware in his computer, he could have lost his coins with any other wallet.

You can't really blame the software if it's your fault in the first place - which is probably what happened, since I use Exodus for more than 2 months and never had any issues regarding its security.
14246  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Sweeping question on: August 25, 2017, 05:31:16 PM
I just want to make sure that importing the keys to electrum will have no effect on claiming the bitcoin cash.  I would still be able to use the original keys to do that, right?
There will be no problems on doing that. You will only be able to spend the legacy BTC from Electrum. The remaining Bitcoin Cash will stay there and you will be able to redeem them as soon as you import your private key in a compatible wallet - e.g: Electron Cash.

https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ seems to be a good place to get an idea of fees and is currently recommending 510 sat/B, I was also looking at tradeblock.com's graph on fee/size and in the last week it looks like the average has not gone above 150 sat/B.  What do you guys do to estimate a low fee that does not have to get through quickly, but will still get through even if it takes a day or 2?
I usually use this website[1] that scrapes the recommended fees from a Bitcoin core node and them just send a tx with half to 70% of the recommended "fastest fee". Right not they are showing a fee of 181 sat/byte for the fastest fee.

14247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When you send BTC payment and not receive any confirmation after 2 days.. WTF??? on: August 25, 2017, 05:11:20 PM
Fees are lower than average. You can:

1. Wait until your transaction gets confirmed (it may take a while, but it will get confirmed)
2. Try ViaBTC's free accelerator[1] (it has a limit of transactions accepted per hour)
3. Pay someone to accelerate your transaction.
4. Try to find someone to do that for free.

People offering free accelerations:

14248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A hacker stole $31M of Ether  on: August 25, 2017, 01:24:24 AM
I also believe this has happened few month(s) ago. But im not sure wether they hacked the "other" accounts or did they stole it back from the hacker him self ? That's what i remember reading.
Yes. This happened a month ago. Not sure why OP is resposting this here.

What happened is also clear in the news:

Hackers found a way to exploit a flaw in the Parity multi-signature wallet, which lead them to steal $31 millions worth of ETH. After that, a white-hat hacker team used from the same exploit to drain the remaining ETH ($85 millions worth) from other wallets with the same vulnerability, so they could prevent the bad guys from taking more ETH.
14249  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: User "serenawild" spamming his fake BTC transaction accelerator on: August 25, 2017, 12:56:34 AM
Hmm, weird. I used btcaccelerator website and it worked for me. My transaction was stuck for 2 days and an hour after I put my transaction ID in that btcaccelerator website it went through. Maybe it was good timing but I am pretty sure they pushed it through!
Maybe you should read my thread again.

There is no way the owner of the website can know who paid for which transaction. Every acceleration request shows the same address (that sadly already received 4 payments of 0.001BTC).

It's just a coincidence that your transaction got confirmed after requesting a acceleration. Try to input the same tx in the same page and it will show "-your TX- is not confirmed! Send 0.001 to this address bla bla bla"
14250  Economy / Services / Re: Fast And Free Transaction Accelerator on: August 24, 2017, 07:25:44 PM
Yes you are right. Til now some ghost came and submitted the transactions pool and they got confirmed. Do not just for your signature campaign. I am not stupid enough to reveal the link , I had seen this pusher on youtube and that is just to broadcast trańsaction .
You should read my post again and try to find where exactly did I said that you aren't really accelerating transactions.

Anyway, if you knew that the link above wasn't an accelerator, you shouldn't have said:
Quote
I have three accelerators that I know and use . I will tell you two and one of them is popular called viabtc but processes only a hundred transaction at a time and has size problems as well . Another one is of blockchain, so below is the link , for blockchain :

Also, there is no reason to start calling someone a spammer. I nowhere attacked you in my post Wink
14251  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is it safe to DISPLAY blockchain.info recovery phrase on any computer? on: August 24, 2017, 07:04:56 PM
I have a blockchain.info wallet that uses 12 word recovery seed as a safefail mechanism.

The question that I have:
1. Is it safe to display the 12 word seed and write it down ona piece of paper or should I be worried that merely displaying the information can result in some malware stealing it?
Or possible staying saved somewhere in browsers history?
Is the same as any other sensitive info you need to keep it safe, like your password or private key.

If you can't be sure that your computer doesn't have a malware installed, login with a safe device and print or write down your recovery seed.

Wut? Isn't this link from Blockchain just a way to push your transaction to the mempool after signing it? What does this have to do with any transaction acceleration? It doesn't make sense.

You can't even submit a transaction ID in the form.
14253  Economy / Exchanges / Re: poloniex lending on: August 24, 2017, 02:26:49 PM
1. Is the lending repayment secured? ever face any default payment like https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1625932.120 case?
2. Does the 10% fees of the lending bot worth it? why not doing it manually?
1. I don't think there was ever a default case on Poloniex since the borrower always needs to have funds available to cover potential losses.
2. You don't have to use this bot and pay 10% in fees. There are open sourced bots on GitHub[1] that does the same thing but for free. However, in this case you will need to let the software open or host it on a server to keep the bot working.

14254  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Cold Storage Questions on: August 24, 2017, 10:50:06 AM
1. How can I create a QR code from my etherium cold storage, in order to make it easier to send funds to it?
Just go to the "Receive" tab and it should have a QR code near your address. Or just search your address on Blockchain.info and save/print the QR code.

2. Can I create a watching only wallet on the android app?
Yes. You can use for example, Sentinel[1] or Mycelium[2] for watch-only addresses.

3. Is there any issue sending funds to my etherium offline wallet, without actually having access to it, or without having a PC with my watching wallet with me?
No. As long as you have the private key or seed backup, you may receive as many coins as you want and only access your wallet when you want to spend it. No need to have the software opened or even installed for receiving coins.

4. Can I be certain that the receiving key in my offline wallet will not change.  I notice that in my offline wallet, there is an option to view and edit a list of keys.  How can I be sure, when I'm away from my wallet, and can't double check the keys, that I can deposit into it without issues.  Or do I always need to have access to my watching wallet?
What do you mean? Your address will always stay in your control as long as you have the private key or the seed backup (if it's a HD wallet). The wallet software is basically just a client to manage your coins in the network by using the private key associated with your address.

If you create an address, you can just receive coins forever in this address and wherever you want to spend it, just import the private key in a wallet, sign the transaction and broadcast your spendings.

14255  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: The lagest Bitcoin mixer is about to stop working on: August 24, 2017, 02:56:30 AM
It is good solution for stay anonymous in digital coins, the other way is use other bitcoins mixing services https://[banned mixer]/
It is still working secure, fast, reliable and huge volume of mixing bitcoins, You get a discount on service fee when you use CryptoMixer regularly. More you mix less you pay.
This means that CryptoMixer keeps logs and may link multiple transactions to a person, right? How is that a good practice for a mixer?

Or how else would they know that you are a loyal costumer and already mixed more than 50 BTC?
14256  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there such a thing as cryptocurrency wallet for everything? on: August 24, 2017, 02:39:34 AM
There are both softwares and hardware wallets that support multiple altcoins at once. You just need to know how to choose the correct for your security needs.

If you want maximum security, buy a hardware wallet. e.g: Ledger Nano S, Trezor

Which altcoins are supported by Ledger:
http://support.ledgerwallet.com/knowledge_base/topics/which-altcoins-are-supported-by-the-nano-s-and-the-blue

Which altcoins are supported by Trezor:
Bitcoin, LTC, ETH (with MyEtherWallet), DASH, Zcash

Or if you don't want to buy a hardware wallet, there are softwares that support multiple altcoins:

Exodus (https://www.exodus.io/)
They support: Aragon, Augur, Bitcoin, Decred, Dash, EOS, Ethereum, Gnosis, Golem, Litecoin and OmiseGo.

Coinomi for Android (https://coinomi.com/)

so what will happen after segwit activated ? I still didn't understand Sad
A lot of benefits, including the Lightning Network and transaction malleability fix. Google is your friend.

14258  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: The lagest Bitcoin mixer is about to stop working on: August 24, 2017, 12:07:06 AM
Well how about DeepOnion, the wallet is connected over TOR and your IP is hidden.  Sounds like a winner to me Smiley
Sounds like another premined shitcoin made to get dumped in the market by their dev.

Nothing new about that actually Smiley
14259  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Why is coinbase fee much higher? on: August 23, 2017, 12:57:03 PM
these posts are pretty old, but tonight for the first time i put $21 on a poker site and $49 on a blackjack site, and for both transactions, coinbase charged me $4.75 each, for $9.50 . wtf? did it go up this much just this week?

werent they supposed to be lowered now that the fork was avoided?Huh?
According to https://bitcoinfees.21.co, the fastest transaction fee is currently 450 satoshis/byte, which converted to a regular transaction with 1 input and output are worth about $4,5. Unfortunally this is a normal fee for Bitcoin's current situation.

Also, the high fees had nothing to do with the current fork. They should only lower a little bit with Segwit and the LN in a few days/weeks. But the only way of trully making fees cheaper would be increasing blocks, which we may never do in a near future.
14260  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase sent transaction but only showing 1 Sat/Byte!!!...what to do? on: August 23, 2017, 02:35:29 AM
Here are a couple options. ViaBTC has a transaction accelerator: https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
BTC.com also has one: https://pushtx.btc.com/

Try to push your transaction through those services. User HumbertDice on the forum is apparently also offering this service for free via Antpool, and some users are reporting that their low fee transactions were confirmed: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2111723.0

Just FYI, ViaBTC accelerator doesn't accept transactions with a fee lower than 10 satoshis/byte, and he probably can't use the paid accelerator from BTC.com because they only accept payments with Alipay.
