1341  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So.... How do 'newbies' build rep? on: February 10, 2013, 08:19:49 PM
Participate, get to know people.  Someone's gonna have to take a risk with you, and they'll probably want every security measure available to protect themselves from a scam.

With that said, if you're willing to do some trading, use escrow.  Some members here offer the service for a tip.  That way you can start building rep, and believe me, there's no shortage of people here who will thank you for your business.

Furthermore, there are always members who pretend to be nice folk, then around the 100-200 post mark, suddenly want a loan.  So expect to be here for a while before anyone really starts trusting you.

But really, just be nice, and people will be nice back  Grin  Well, within reason.
Thanks! I've offered escrow and such, but no takers. I guess i'll have to just sit on my thumbs and wait.

I guess my point just isn't getting across.

Sorry, i didn't realize it was unclear. I'm simply trying to build a rep on my nick for the WOT, or here on the forums so that i may buy/sell/trade in the future without the hassles i'm experiencing now. Every one had to get their start some way, i'm asking for some tips to work towards getting a positive reputation.

Just curious about how we go from zeros to heroes here in the bitcoin world. No one seems to want to even talk about any sort of transaction with a new member. I'd love to do some p2p trades (and not just BTC-e), but it's almost impossible to get started here. I've tried offering items out of my Ebay/Etsy shop, offered business verified paypal, offered cash in the mail, etc. Not a single nibble.

How did you get started with your rep? Any tips for us newcomers?
1345  Other / Off-topic / Re: Impossible to pay you back on: February 10, 2013, 07:29:42 PM
You came in here asking for a $20k loan and gave no guarantees of repayment. You tried to use the same old Nigerian scam email wording in your first post (the guilt trip route). You then go onto to curse and call members here bitches, fags, etc. The backlash you're receiving surprises you?

Logoff and take a moment to clear your head, i'm sure you'll see the err in your ways.

1) Yes that's what I did.

2) False, there is no scheme here. I am straight out asking for what I need and specifically saying I will not be able to guarantee a repayment. There is no guilt trip, it's merely a perspective. You really need to compare the Nigerian scams with mine. They fabricate an UNTRUE story. I am saying that I will try to pay you back, but that to guarantee would be impossible because I cannot control my fate. I can only say that I will try.

3) I was harassed by trolls and I proceeded to destroy them and you're now suffering the same miserable fate.

4) I did not ask for psychological assistance, bitch. Fuck off.
It's quite obvious that you need psychological assistance. You're way too worked up. People online disagreed with something you said, boo hoo. Come on man, how fragile are you?

Either way, it should be quite clear to you by now (hopefully) that you will not receive what you seek here.

Good luck in your ventures.

1347  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Tumen miner - WebGL miner on: February 10, 2013, 06:49:55 PM
no interest at all on this, eh?
I checked it out, updated firefox, installed webcl then got this notice when activating webcl that ended the curiosity for me.

"WARNING! This WebCL implementation is experimental and is likely to introduce severe security vulnerabilities in your system. Use it cautiously and at your own risk. This setting is also available in Advanced Settings (about:config) as extensions.webcl.allowed"
1348  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining FAIL! on: February 10, 2013, 06:40:31 PM
Sad part is, if he would have just purchased BTC instead of buying 6 monitors and everything else, he would have made much more of a profit than he will ever see now.

Don't pop your top just yet.  They still need to be bumped, packaged, and most importantly, thoroughly tested.

This ^^

Some of you are blind aren't you? There hasn't been really any tests on the BFL "chips" that are "on the way to the US".

Hurry up and WAIT lol

Suckerz....  Grin Grin Grin
I have to agree. I just posted a thread about this (that was deleted for some reason). These chips still have to make their way across the world to the US (i'm willing to bet they're not overnight airmailed....), assembled, and tested. That process alone will take weeks, and much longer if there's any sort of issues (let's face it, this is untested product - there will be issues). I was very late to the party (order number 18k), and i honestly don't expect to receive mine until well after the summer. I won't be able to get in early, or recoup my investment quickly, but let's face it - a jalapeno is going to be the minimum you'll need to make any sort of profit mining here very soon.
1350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: February 10, 2013, 05:25:12 PM
Used your service for the first time last week - loved it. Went to use it again a few nights ago and it errored out (after filling in all info and doing the human captcha) and said something along the lines of 'There was an identity error in generating your payment slip. Please contact support@zipzapinc.com to resolve'. Was attempting a moneygram->bitcoin to email (also tried to moneygram->btc-e.com account). Emailed support several days ago, and again yesterday. Below is one of the order ids. Thanks for any help.

Event ID   75dd9001-699e-4f52-a666-6ad0c770e7f7

Email ZipZap for the Merchant Order ID. They should have it to you within a day (mon-fri). It'll speed up everything with Bitinstant. That's the ID you want Wink
I emailed zipzap when this happened on Tuesday, and again on Thursday. Have not heard back. Hoping this all gets cleared up in the next few days (btc/ltc prices won't wait for me!). Thank you for your help though!

1352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [WTB] x67 LTC with Paypal on: February 09, 2013, 11:30:22 PM
Hello all. I'm relatively new here, but i'm looking to purchase some LTC. I'm having issues using Bitinstant (used them last week with no issues), and have not heard back from ZipZap in several days. My emails to btc-e about liqpay have gone unanswered as well. I'm just looking to round off my LTC amount to something nice and even (hence the odd number - i have xx33 currently).

I'm new here, but am an established seller on Ebay and Etsy, with around $10,000 in sales and 100% positive feedback on both sites. My paypal is business verified and matches my whois info for my domain. In short, i'm a legit buyer. But here's some links in case you're still worried.
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&ftab=AllFeedback&userid=thepickingpair

Looking to clear out some Paypal. I will gladly use an escrow service or allow you to hold onto the funds until whatever period paypal has setup that's the 'dangerzone' for btc/ltc sellers is over (you have to be highly respected and have some positive trades here for me to feel comfortable with you holding the funds for an extended period of time). If you wish to hold paypal for an extended period of time, i'll need you to confirm here that you're sending me X amount of LTC and not $x of LTC (this way its fair whichever way the market fluctuates by the time you're comfortable with releasing the coins). I'm looking for $50 or under at the moment, but will be buying several thousand more in the upcoming weeks.

I know paypal is a taboo subject here, but please put away your pitchforks and torches, i'm a good guy with a history of online sales.

Thanks for looking!

1354  Economy / Trading Discussion / Errors with ZipZap (bitinstant) - support not responding - suggestions? on: February 09, 2013, 06:03:41 PM
I used bitinstant (bitcoin to email) a few weeks ago for the first time so i could purchase some currency on btc-e.com. When i went back a few days ago to use the service again, i get hit with the below error after filling in all information and doing the human captcha puzzle. It's been a few days since i've emailed ZipZap support, so i'm posting here in the off chance that either an employee of theirs is a member here and sees this, or someone else has dealt with this before. Thanks for any and all help.

1356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 09, 2013, 05:14:31 PM
OK, I know how to use CGMiner.

That's not the question I was asking.

I am asking about Litecoin-QT Mining configuration for automatic startup.

I am not asking for a different miner, just about this program and how to configure it for automatic startup.
Are you asking for solo CPU mining within the litecoin QT client, and how to set it up to auto run? I'm not sure why you would want to auto mine through the LTC client (its pretty inefficient).

Try autosolo from http://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,54 and then just put the batch files it makes into your task scheduler, or startup folder. Of course, this means you'll be mining with cgminer.

Seems interesting, giving it a shot lending a few hundred USD.

I would love to setup WOT, but looking at the wiki page for it, i might as well be reading Mandarin. I have no clue what to do where, but once i figure it all out, i'll write up an easier to follow guide.
