Can't you just keep your wallet in an encrypted container and then disconnect your laptop from WiFi after storing a back up wallet on a flash drive ? Smiley

n00bie wins.

if you have more than 2BTC ... you can use a laptop ONLY for bitcoin-QT (without anything like flash, java or other non-installed tool).

13526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the suggestion to change wallets/addresses often? on: March 02, 2014, 12:25:37 PM
i change wallet every 10 lines in bitcoin-QT ... to simplify the view.
i transfer the last sum to my smartphone (0,0002 fee) ... and then, on a new bitcoin-QT crypted wallet (0,0002 fee).

with this, you can "consolidate" the sum in 1 transfer (no many little receive payments).
take less overhead on bitcoin network (fee low).
13527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin circulation on: March 02, 2014, 12:13:10 PM

13537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin statistical analysis: when will Bitcoin disappear entirely. on: March 01, 2014, 01:21:41 AM

bitcoin network don't loose nothing.
13538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transactions stuck? on: March 01, 2014, 01:15:22 AM
8min for the 1
14-30 for 2 more
60 for the 6 confirmations

btw, bitcoin-QT don't work offline ... so Roll Eyes you must be first "synchronize" to emit transaction directly after.
EDIT: usually, transaction will propagate with 6-8 nodes (for 8 connexions on bitcoin-QT).

not 1.
13539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you guys wanna let people see your wallets? on: March 01, 2014, 01:03:57 AM
you can use a "phantom system" like https://bitmixer.io/faqs.html
it exchange BTC for other not linked to the first ... a good system (fee applied) if this is real.
