I can hack money instantly simply hacking crypto
No, wrong. Cryptocurrency cannot be hacked. Only exchanges can be and you need to somehow get in control of the private keys to do so. If you get in control of the MEW server and make all the customers to redirect to a phishing site, you can steal their keys.

Are you going to perform another biggest hack such as Mt.Gox hack? If so could you please say which exchange are you targeting? Coinbase? Binance? Poloniex? so that I can take out my btc from there

If you are following mdayonliner advice and going to die, please don't return up as ghost and use this forum account  Undecided

Did you see? Ghosts and Suicides are pretty common nowadays in this forum!

If those 148 merits which were given to a bozo for an idiot ANN Thread were saved, it would have helped lots of Newbies, Jr Members and Members to rank up for the quality guides which they were producing all the way to earn some decent merits.

Anyway why did you compare the mighty nullius to this idiot? Merits are not the sole way to distinguish nullius and other users. nullius was one hell of brilliant cryptographer who was even praised by achow101 in the trust ratings.

Quote from: achow101
Very knowledgeable about Bitcoin and cryptography related things. Frequently gives in-depth, constructive, and well though out answers on various topics.

He has excellent language skills similar to Lauda and has great knowledge in cryptography and cryptocurrency similar to satoshi, gmaxwell and other bitcoin devs which made him to earn huge volume of merits in a short span of time.

Let satoshi and nullius accounts Rest In Peace, let us stop bothering their accounts instead. Most probably both of them will never return back.  Undecided

EDIT :

...Anyway why did you compare the mighty nullius to this idiot?...
You read thisTongue
PS: I did not mean to insult nullius, we all know his/her expertise.
Yes I do read almost all the replies of a thread before posting my comment! But isn't it a disgrace for nullius to be compared with this account even for fun purposes?

Fork means that when there is a change in the rules of the blockchain that the coin operates on or the nodes disagree on a historic transaction
Think of a hundreds of people walking down a road and the road comes to a fork, some people may decide that they do not want to follow the traditional direction of the masses and take the other route - as they believe it to be better. This would split the crowd and others may follow. In terms of cryptocurrency the minority of followers would create a new coin like Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Cash
there are lots forks happens and somewhat help the community also

1364  Other / Meta / Re: History - signature campaigns and bounties on Bitcointalk on: June 30, 2018, 10:07:59 AM
The first mention of the signature campaign on September 10, 2013. And only the Bitcointalk staff could participate in it. Payment was small.
No, absolutely wrong. There were earlier instances in 2011 of people renting out their signatures for btc... I narrowed my search to marketplace section as it was one of the earliest board in this forum. Went to the last page and spent around 3-4 hrs searching for a very old 'Signature space for rent' post. Then I found out a post of member "kiba" offering his sig space for rent for 5 btc. I can't find a post earlier than this which were renting out their signatures. Most probably there were only technical discussions taking place during satoshi period and once he left this virtual world, slowly the forum was occupied with spams and members started to become greedy.

I am sure campaigns like ritzgrandcasino tempted people to become spammers as they paid a maximum of 3k posts per month.  Shocked

Miscellaneous: Constructive posts only.

All your guides are really helpful to the community but it gets wasted since it is being posted in a Mega Spam Board. Could you please move all your guides to the Beginners and Help Section so that it could be really helpful to the newbies who are coming here to seek knowledge?

P.S I have been meriting you constantly due to the immense work you put in your each guide! But Guides like these should never get buried in these Spams. :/

...snip...
People like you should never be awarded with merits. If you are not good at English, why don't you contribute some meaningful posts in your local language which can earn you merit. I am not in a way to complain you, but you signed up last year and you still can't even receive a single merit. This means that your post is neither helpful to even one single member of the forum nor it doesn't contribute anything meaningful. All your posts are just one liners, altcoin shit replies or long fb and Twitter reports. Why do you need merit? In order to rank up and receive higher stakes for your bounty campaigns right? Work hard and start contributing to the community, eventually you will receive merit from someone.

I was a newbie like you who started off in this forum with 0 merits. But I have received over 103 merits with around 240 posts in the span of 6 months. Not all my 240+ posts are meaningful or constructive. During my early days in this forum I was slammed by many senior members for shitposting in spam mega threads. I do post a lot in Altcoin Discussion where there are technical  topics with 0 replies.

Some possible suggestions for you to receive merit with poor English

1. Read a lot of technical topics on crypto and help your local community by educating them on cryptocurrency, how they work etc
2. If you are good in your Filipino language, stick to it and contribute as much as you can.
3. Never reply to mega spam threads and reply only to 0 reply topic in Altcoin Discussion which may fetch you at least a single merit.
4. Stop complaining about merit

You certainly won't be able to teach much about crypto to the legendary and old forum member, so you've got to find another way.
No, there are certain higher ranked members who don't even know the basics of crypto. Teaching them and replying to their topics will earn us a handful of merits (maybe 2-5). This happened in my case
1367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will the CMC top 10 look like if it goes full bear? on: June 27, 2018, 07:50:11 PM
Btc, Ltc has lot more real world applications and being the oldest will never lose in the game of being the superior
There are almost 0 ICO's if there isn't a coin like Ethereum as Eth is the fuel which runs almost half of the ICO's based on blockchain. Hence Eth losing it's position is literally a rare case.

I don't believe in the shit coin named BCH. On contrary, why should a hard fork exist on the whole? If you are not happy with(disagree) the block size or the ASIC mining why the hell are you forking btc? Just start your own coin and name it something like MBcoin, GBcoin, TBcoin etc., but not Bitcoin XYZ So this should have a huge fall and should run out of the Top 10 if crypto is in it's winter season.
There has been claims and accusations on Tron being a Scam or being over hyped. I don't think this will continue in long run.

Monero seems to be a very promising coin based on the cryptonote technology and being completely anonymous. Stealth address has failed to compete with segwits in btc blockchain but there usage on Monero seeems to be really good.  Some other notable coins are Dash, NEM and Neo. I can't really comment on Xrp,Eos, Cardano,Stellar as I have never read about their underlying technology.  Tongue

If there is a crypto winter populated by bears, possible top 10's may include Btc,Eth,Ltc,Monero,Neo,Dash,Xrp(not sure)
1368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Offline Myetherwallet on: June 27, 2018, 05:49:19 PM
As long as you do not have internet connection transaction from myetherwallet will not be processed because myetherwallet need internet access to process.
No, you are wrong. We can process the transaction even from a offline computer.
Generate the transaction from the online computer, copy the transaction in usb, sign them from the offline wallet. Copy the signed message from offline computer and paste it in the online computer and Create the transaction. Your mew wallet will be safe from being exposed online.
Haven't you tried this out?  Huh

@sunil_ad Lock the topic as it could generate spams and other members may say just the same what I have said.
1369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What the fork? on: June 27, 2018, 03:24:34 PM
Did I get it right?
Yes, You are right. Since this is a decentralized economy, the price of btc is based on the buyer and seller. If he sells them at a higher price than normal and if the buyer buys them, the price increases. No one determines the price (no central party). If there is a news favouring the btc economy, seller sells them at a higher price than normal and vice versa. For instance during the mt.gox days price fell from 1k$ to $500 within a month due to the hack and then rised slowly. Btc price is literally very sensitive to news.

1371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Offline Myetherwallet on: June 26, 2018, 06:22:52 PM
Would you like to bring the offline wallet to online?

If so, just enter the private key of your wallet in https://www.myetherwallet.com/#send-transaction and send the eth to another offline wallet.

If not, you don't want to expose your keys, then follow the procedure

1. Go to this page https://www.myetherwallet.com/#offline-transaction
2. Fill in the address from where you should send the eth (i.e the address which you hold your keys now) and press Generate transaction
3. Fill in the TO address info (to which address you should send your eth) and nounce.
4. Enter your private key and generate transaction in offline mode. You will receive a signed and raw transaction message
5. Paste them in Step 3 and click Send Transaction

Since you don't have access to the offline computer, I think entering your private key is well and good in mew website. But double check the url before doing any transaction or posting your keys.
1372  Other / Meta / Re: Where can I ask about learning to mine Bitcoin? on: June 25, 2018, 03:05:25 PM
Mining board moderators are really harsh and strict in cleaning up their board. They never allow newbie questions (basic questions about mining) to be posted there. If in case we post, it would be deleted pretty quickly. Using ASIC is really a waste of time and investment as there are bigger giants than us (normal people) in mining. Unless we buy an ASIC at a very cheaper price and the electricity in your area is cheap it is pretty useless to mine BTC these days. We should never post in mining board, unless we have a good knowledge in mining process.

Regarding mining process, I would recommend you to read Andreas "Mastering Bitcoin 2e - Programming the open Blockchain". Just buy a copy of the book (it's hardly 25$) from Amazon or read it online from here. Study Andreas Book completely and I am sure you would have an excellent, complete understanding of bitcoin and how it works. You can answer almost all the questions about bitcoin. I feel sometimes that who doesn't have a basic knowledge on bitcoin and its working is not fit to stay in this forum. This forum has become more of a political area rather than discussing about bitcoin and altcoins.
1373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What the fork? on: June 24, 2018, 10:02:33 AM
Could you be clear in asking question?

A bitcoin fork is that, it divides itself from the main chain and follows its own chain. A fork is created when there is a difference of opinion in the community and the people tend to follow the hard fork. Bitcoin Cash was created for increasing the block size from 1 mb to 8 mb. Whoever owns 1 bitcoin before the forking happened is an owner of 1 BCH. Some people tend to use the new fork and sell their bitcoin or vice-versa.

How is value forked?
Value is not forked. It is the acceptance of the community which drives the value of the fork.

If a blockchain is forked, is it's value also forked?
No, the value of the fork is determined based on the bitcoin price before and after the fork.

Isn't that a doubling of value overall?
No. Consider in the case of BTC and any hard fork (X). If the price of BTC was $7000 before the forking and was $6500 after the forking happened, then the value of new fork (X) could be priced somewhere at $500.
A simple formula for calculating the price of forked coin,

Value of Forked Coin (X) = Value of BTC before Forking - Value of BTC after Forking
1374  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How best copy blockchain to other computer? on: June 23, 2018, 08:27:42 PM
What's your question all about  Huh

Is it copying blockchain to other OS (Your old Windows computer to Newly bought Linux)?

If so,

Open APPDATA folder which is hidden by default. Inside Roaming folder you will find the Bitcoin Folder. Install Bitcoin Core on the Linux. Once you have installed you will see the .bitcoin folder present in the directory where you have installed.  just copy the folder present in %APPDATA%\Bitcoin and paste it in ~/.bitcoin (Backup before you move or copy them)
Open Bitcoin-qt in Linux with -datadir=/new/path/to/.bitcoin
1375  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Distribution Slowing? on: June 22, 2018, 01:07:59 PM
I keep wondering if newbies will ever get some merits for upgrade. i see a lot of old account with activities of over 200 without a single merit while some accounts with 10 activities and 10 merits.
Old account in the sense, they are only using their accounts for signature spamming, reporting their fb and Twitter posts. This doesn't mean that those 200+ activity Jr.Members should receive merits to rank up to Full Members or at the least Members. Ranking up of accounts should never depend upon Activity or Posts count. There should be something similar like merits or whatsoever. I had been a  member in some of the forums where admins used to rank up the members manually. Since it can never be done in such a huge forum like this, merits will help them to rank up. If a person receives some decent merits, it distinguishes him from rest of the community further indicating that he has contributed to the community.

Those 10 posts or activities which newbies posted would have contributed to the forum and helped someone and they would have eventually awarded them the merits.

Merits are working as intended, so don't think about merits and keep contributing to the community and someday you will see that merits are flooding in your account.
1376  Other / Meta / Re: Ask about ICO scam on: June 21, 2018, 04:54:35 PM
How do you know that, what are you basing your assumptions on?
Not that it's an assumption, I have read about it somewhere in the forum that some managers are being paid weekly in btc and some reputed managers are being paid prior to the beginning of the campaign. There is also a theory that some do their weekly work of managing the campaign only after they receive their weekly pay. As you are a good old member and a campaign manager could you clear it up that is this statement true?
1377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the MAX number of TPS in 2018 for Altcoins? on: June 20, 2018, 04:08:55 PM
This discussion is mostly addressed to Senior and Hero members but anyone can take part.
Most of the Sr and Hero members who comment in Altcoin Discussion are hardcore spammers who have no technical knowledge in cryptocurrency. They just post for filling up their min post count. Hence you won't receive any good replies.

Quote
1) top 10 Altcoins with MAX TPS
EOS (10000 max)
NEM (4000)
XRP (1500)
NANO (7000)
NEO (100000 by 2020 with trinity)
OmiseGO (1 million after the plasma implementation)

Quote
2) Is it possible to reach 10M TPS in 2018?
I don't think so it can be reached. TPS is based on tx size, block time and block size. If they are high it can be done. But at the moment, it is quite impossible.

Quote
3) Is it necessary to have so many TPS?
Not necessarily I think so. There are just a handful of people using cryptocurrency. If crypto becomes mainstream and the world adapts crypto, such a transaction would be required.

Quote
4) Do we have a real application now? (do we have a real tasks/applications which require so many TPS)
As I have said above, if the crypto is adapted mainstream we need such high TPS coins.

Quote
5) What number of TPS is enought in 2018?
I can't comment on that.
1378  Other / Meta / Re: The core of Bitcointalk's spam problem on: June 20, 2018, 02:53:50 PM
only allow campaigns that pay out in Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency that has an independent blockchain and is not an ICO token.
Why not a token? I can't get your point Huh I agree that they don't have a real value until they are listed in exchange, but some of them help in
solving real world problems and
the complete usage of blockchain technology in various fields.
If such a thing is implemented, almost all the spammers and bounty managers would join and conduct bitcoin campaigns which would deter the quality of forum even more as almost all the bitcoin campaigns (excluding chipmixer) demand a minimum post of 20-25. Spammers can't even post 10 meaningful posts per week, how can you expect them to post 25 good quality posts?

- Stricter control of Bounty managers.
Nowadays campaigns are managed by Newbies and Jr.Members who doesn't even know how the forum works or doesn't know to evaluate posts. Allowing Copper Members, Full Members and up to create a topic in Bounty section may help a bit. Very few bounty managers look for the post quality and actually read them. Rest just check the number of posts created and award them stakes.

We need to give the bounty managers some tools to help them to regulate their spammers.
Bounty managers never consider the spams generated due to their poor regulation and management. They will not even mind using it?

forbid all signature campaign
If all the bounty managers were like you there would have been quality posts and real discussions flourishing all around the forum. Forbidding signatures is literally a bad idea to consider. They will severely reduce the traffic generated on the website and there might be losses on theymos side. On the other hand, a similar forum would be created and all the spammers(traffic) will leave this forum forever. Moreover theymos said he has completely ruled out this idea and will think of it only when merit system fails.

Any other ideas?
Increasing the merit requirement of Jr.Member to 10 and Member to 50. A member will receive 50 merits only when
1. He has good knowledge in bitcoin or
2. He understands how a forum works and makes some decent posts or
3. A prolific writer

Not only altcoin campaigns generate spam, bitcoin campaign also does. Hence reducing the minimum post count to 10 or pay per post similar to chipmixer would work.
1379  Other / Meta / Re: Ask about ICO scam on: June 19, 2018, 06:58:57 PM
And now i'm looking at some ICO whose website is no longer there and its telegram too, but the bounty manager is still continuing the ICO. Of course bounty manager is wrong, right? Because there is no notice at all that the ICO is a scam
If you feel like a scam ICO is still being advertised, kindly create a topic in Scam Accusations regarding the scam. It may help some members as they invest blindly by looking at these signatures which happened with one of the forum member. aTriz was managing a scam campaign and the member invested in the ICO without investigation and lost his investment. Though aTriz paid half the amount, he has fallen for the Scam.
BM's must check the development now and then and if they feel like it is scam, they must report it in the Scam Accusations board and must end the bounty.

will have an impact on the Bounty Manager who manages ICO?
As mdayonliner said, it won't have a negative impact on BM. But once the ICO is proved as scam and if BM is continuing with the bounty, he must be negged. Most of the trusted and reputed managers close scam bounties if they find them.

Note that, most of the bounty managers are paid weekly for the work they do or as a whole at the beginning of the campaign. Hence they continue their work, unless they are not getting paid.

Why did you create this topic in Altcoin Discussion? Does this topic deal with Altcoins? Spammers like you create almost all the topics in Altcoin Discussion.

I posted a new topic on this forum about some weeks ago tagged "how do I earn merit" the said topic was generating a lot of replies
Please how is this possible and is there any solution please
Your topic was not generating a lot of replies, it was generating a lot of spams and ruining this forum. Hence it was deleted. If such a shit topic was created in Meta by you, it would have received severe backlash from the community.

Yes there is a solution, Stop creating shit topics like these and eventually your posts will not be deleted. Don't be proud enough that your topic is generating a lot of spams, Lock the topic once you feel your query has been answered.

Even this topic is generating a lot of spam replies, I am reporting it now. Cheers  Grin By replying to this topic, I would bump this and a lot more spams will be generated.  Embarrassed
