1361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Get Hazard Banned! [POLL] on: June 01, 2013, 08:39:27 PM
Out of all the shitcoins made, the one's he makes are the more useless ones. He comes up with inappropriate coins(VaginaCoin/WeedCoin), that are pointless. I think it ruins this section even more as it is.

I for one think he should be banned.

Hazard probably has 3 alternate names on this forum already so banning wouldnt really do anything... A lot of new coins are introduced by people with like 4 posts, so he could just make endless amounts of accounts and post crap troll talk all over to get his post count up. Doesnt matter, waste of time.. Dont ban him and then at least youll know its him! lol. Hazard is hardly the worse thing for this community. As has been already stated, dont participate in coins that are crap. People choose to mine them, are we going to ban all those people too? Va****coin thread should be deleted as its innappropriate.

$70 worth of BTB for an item that sells for $14 fiat.
Haha right?
I will offer this item for 0.1 btc + shipping to you if anyone really wants it, but i would not suggest hiding your cryptowallets on a usb drive that is shaped like a gold bar. Not very inconspicuous. He said theres a special bonus if you purchase? Im guessing thats a wallet stealer lol

1369  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 400 Mega hashes, 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: May 24, 2013, 06:38:06 AM
On a side note: The stock fans on these are _terrible_ -- we've had 3 or 4 start to fail with bad bearings already... and I'm sure others will follow shortly Sad

These are the best we've found. We have even picked up 24Volt fans and running them at 12Volt so they'll make less noise.
If you send them back we'll be happy to replace them and have a chat with the factory about their quality control.

that might be the problem using fans that should be run at 24v at 12v...hmm...
1370  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 400 Mega hashes, 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: May 24, 2013, 02:59:08 AM
Hello everybody!

My company, Black Arrow Software http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com, has just started manufacturing Lancelot FPGAs - aprox 400Mhash/sec, using 26.5 Watt

The Lancelot device was developed by ngzhang. Details in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=79835.0

You can purchase it from our reseller's website: http://www.cardreaderfactory.com/shop/lancelot.html

Price: $350 / pcs. Discounts available for more than 10 pcs.

Power supply (ordered separately):
1. This power supply: https://www.cardreaderfactory.com/shop/ac-dc-power-adapter-12v-10a.html can power 4 Lancelot at the same time
2. This power splitter: https://www.cardreaderfactory.com/shop/atx-to-lancelot-power-adapter.html and 600 Watt PSU (purchased separately: example http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Builder-Series-Bronze-Supply/dp/B009RMP44O/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1367521289&sr=8-3&keywords=600watt+psu) can power up 20 x Lancelot

06/05/2013: Device update:

Download from here: https://www.cardreaderfactory.com/download/documentation/lancelot%20user%20manual.pdf

02/05/2013: Shipping fee
Contrary to what our website says, shipping will not be $70!
It can be cheaper: As many of you have noticed, we have credited your account with us for the shipping difference (if we managed to get the shipping fee lower than $70). We can refund the shipping difference in bitcoins or you can use it for your next order.
Or it can be more expensive: If your package is heavy, we will ask you to pay the difference.

Payment: We accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin Escrow, Western Union and Bank Transfer.
If you haven't placed your order yet, please do so online and do _not_ pay for it. We will send you a payment reminder as soon as your order is in stock.

Bitcoin exchange rate:
When you place your order, please tell us what is the rate that you want to exchange your Bitcoins for. We will submit your transaction in MtGox as advised. If it gets executed, we will consider your payment complete and ship your order. If it doesn't get executed (example: Bitcoin value is lower) we will postpone shipping your order and, if requested, we can issue a refund with the same amount of Bitcoins that you've paid and cancel your order.
Note: In Mt. Gox we will submit your requested rate + 1% 1.5% so we can recover Mt. Gox's exchange fee and bank transfer fee.

Shipping: We are based in Shenzhen, local pickup available. We can also ship worldwide with DHL, UPS and EMS. Shipping price depends on the destination and package weight. Our website is configured to charge $70 flat fee but we'll update this as soon as we hear back from DHL/UPS.

30/04/2013: Performance update:
Due to limited availability of -3N  and -3 xilinx FPGA we will be using -2 chips too. We have tested them and have no impact in the performance of the boards (see picture below). If you really want -3 chips do let us know and we'll hold your order until we manage to get some -3 chips.

Our lancelot without the cooler:

Fan is included. At the moment is quite big and we're looking into how improve this.

The default firmware is running at 200mhz.

The power consumption is 26.5 Watt / device.

Regards!

Hasnt anyone realized yet that this is a terrible deal? I would buy these for 1 btc each.
1371  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Forced On Hold For Refund on: May 24, 2013, 02:51:07 AM
Could we get some more context around this?

Josh from BFL is constantly flaming people on this forum in an unnecessary and innappropriate manner for treating customers and "potential customers"
1372  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy - UK Re-shipper] Block Erupter USB on: May 24, 2013, 02:49:14 AM
What kind or price are we talking per unit? Sorry if this seems a dumb thing to ask.

1.99BTC per unit + 0.01 FEE + SHIP fee

These only do 300MH/s right?

If thats the case, then why wouldnt i just buy a video card that can also mine scrypt and get more hashpower? This miner is NOT a good deal.
1373  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 490,000 Avalon chips already ordered - 150T hashrate spike coming in August on: May 24, 2013, 01:48:38 AM
Solar panels aren't free, that's true. But many people already have them. In many states, net metering laws allow the power company to keep any surplus energy after a year. So it's use it or lose it. Some people are already producing a surplus that is just going to the power company's pockets. This is just one example of how somebody could use bitcoin to harvest capital that is otherwise lost to them.

There aren't very many options that can directly turn electricity into money, so if you have a surplus of electricity, a bitcoin mining system is a change machine.  Wink

Sure. Or they should have invested less in the solar panels and put the difference in BTC. Dollars to your cents Wink
Investing in solar panels but not using them? Thats kinda like buying carbon offset credits. And hey, if you have a farm hooked up to that "free" energy, its hundreds of dollars to your dollars.

Trucoin no offense meant by this but if you really want liquidcoin to take off again (i do!) then you need to stop commenting on its posts and working on it. Back off, no one is going to mine or take seriously a coin which is spam-touted by someone who is widely regarded as a conartist.
Hate me or not, its true bro

1379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Big Hashes in Little Pools *cough*WDC*cough* on: May 23, 2013, 01:08:25 AM
Well.. What do you think? Crowd Control on the pools or what? Given the recent events in the land of worldcoin, I cant help but think that this pool and this much hashrate seems to be causing the network to fork, I can't help but wonder if the pool owner could have taken some action to protect the new coin. Look for yourself and tell me what you think.

It seems to me that users with this much hashpower should be solo mining for the good of themselves and everyone else in the community, let alone the existence of the coin itself.

well yes i agree, however it is the pool operator that need to be responsible. This pool has be brough up a few times actually lately. Who operates this pool on here?

Big Vern operates the pool and I actually quite enjoy his pools. They are fair and payout correctly, etc. I dont think he wanted this situation to occur, and I am also not fully in understanding of what exactly happens in this scenario where one pool takes the cake on network share. ie what exactly is happening with wdc and others?

edit:typo
