Lesson #2: always retrieve BTC in the bitcoin-QT (or assimiled safe software) after buy or sell.
13665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Instant transaction speeds the the counter, via an escrow ? (also for iPhone ) on: February 10, 2014, 04:58:15 PM
No one has to wait 10mins for a coffee when they pay with btc.

BTW, the "0 confirmation" is in the second on the phone ... but for the 1 confirmation, yes, it takes 6-10 min.
13666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Instant transaction speeds the the counter, via an escrow ? (also for iPhone ) on: February 10, 2014, 04:50:49 PM
Quote
10 minutes is way to long

Deal with it.

It's advantage of no chargeback and no double-spend.  Cool
13667  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New Mt Gox Press Release - Feb 10 - they are claiming flaw in bitcoin protocol ! on: February 10, 2014, 03:59:58 PM
If that's the case, I'd hope that the core developers would continue working on Bitcoin's problem with scaling, and not escalate the malleability thing much at all.

One more time.
Bitcoin DEV have nothing to do with INTERNAL MtGox API ... that it "emulate" bitcoin transaction (internal balance to reduce bandwidth on bitcoin network ... and don't send the amount of bitcoin buy AND sell with a 0 INTERNAL balance at the end).
13668  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New Mt Gox Press Release - Feb 10 - they are claiming flaw in bitcoin protocol ! on: February 10, 2014, 02:52:24 PM
MtGox is a clown.
They don't use a connected bitcoin API (blabla hacked, blabla hole secure, blabla bandwidth, blabla balance) ... and now, they talk that the bitcoin is in fault ?

Ah Ah Ah  Grin

13670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ticker for Windows with chart & alerts - Tell me what you think! on: February 09, 2014, 07:04:07 PM
Can you add virwox ?
the conversion is simple : BTC/SLL divided by EUR/SLL (or USD/SLL)

example : 180001 / 329,2 = 546 Euros for 1 BTC.
13671  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox's DEATH - Bitcoin headed towards darkness? on: February 09, 2014, 02:49:13 PM
Didn't anyone else think that that Roger Ver video was 100% proof that everything coming out of MtGox is SCRIPTED!?!?

13672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stolen Bitcoin questions on: February 09, 2014, 01:55:08 PM
How are most bitcoins stolen and how can I avoid that fate?

1) user noob atitude (trust an unknown user to sell bitcoin for paypal ... and chargeback begin !)
2) computer compromise (by virus ... but, in usual way, by other person use the same computer and destroy it)
3) user HEAVY noob strategy : trust the hard drive that it hold bitcoin-QT and not backup the wallet.dat
4) user VERY HEAVY noob reaction : trust "virtual" wallet host in the plateform that they exchange BTC because fee to retrieve BTC in bitcoin-QT are too high.

so :

- use bitcoin-QT
- use "one shot" stratégy on plateform exchange (insert USD/Euro, buy BTC, retrieve immediatly BTC to bitcoin-QT)
- backup wallet.dat on 3 different USB storage
- secure PC (like normal way... use a "commercial" antivirus and not a free antivirus)
13673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's time for a Bitcoin hodlday... on: February 09, 2014, 01:39:29 PM

13675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone is a victim not just the Gox customers on: February 08, 2014, 08:31:51 PM
No one is a victim.
When i check my Bitcoin-QT ... i always have what i have buy (and mine).
I trust the bitcoin protocol to old my BTC in any case even my country crash ... and government freeze my bank account.

Don't compare the crap internet business (or government) with a secured network, please.
13676  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox's DEATH - Bitcoin headed towards darkness? on: February 08, 2014, 08:22:46 PM
Roll Eyes Yes people like "customers" in mtgox are noobs... very very very noobs to let BTC on a virtual account.
It's stupid (when i have choose a plateform, i have verified that i can retrieve ALWAYS me BTC... after by with fiat transaction).

Bitcoin have invented your own money stored in your own PC.
deal with it if you "trust" a other party to store your BTC ...  Undecided
