Sorry, I can't still comprehend the new merit system. Who really gives the merit points – the admins or the forum members?

144  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any harm in registering airdrops with email address? on: January 28, 2018, 05:01:38 AM
Avoidance of spam emails isn't the main benefit for creating a different email address for airdrops because one can do that reasonably with strong spam filtring on any email service. The main benefit is that it will keep you safe from phising links, but you always have to be careful not to use your airdrop email address for serious transactions such as banking and exchange accounts.
145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would you trust a brand new computer for creating a paper wallet? on: January 27, 2018, 07:42:36 AM
I'll rather trust an old computer that I would retise soon after creating the paper wallet.

The danger is most airdrops these days are scam. Some are only interested in harvesting your personal data either to spanm your email in the future or sell it for profit, some others will definitely send phising links to your email and scoope away your coins if you fall victim. One precaution you can take is to create a seperate email and dedicate it to airdrops and never carry out any serious transactions or communications on such email addresses.

I just tried out Freewallet's multi wallet version and it's awesome.
148  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think about the new rules (merit) of the Bitcointalk forum? on: January 26, 2018, 06:27:48 AM
I have followed this thread to better understand the implications of the new Merit system on member profiling without grasping much. Alk I could make out is that it  has to do with the quality of posts on the forum. This will be effective for checking spanmers and shithole posters on the forum, but to those who are consistent with quality posts the Merit system will pose a kind of drawback because their ranking up will now depend on the subjective views of some members of the  community on such users' posts. It's like one stepping on the gas pedal and another wheeling the car.

Hello, bounty manager,
What will be the minimum investment amount for the pre-sale?
151  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Anyone Recommend Good altcoin wallets? on: January 24, 2018, 05:45:40 PM
anyone can share their thought on imtoken? is it reliable?

Yes, to the best of my knowledge. Send your tokens offline to Imtoken on your retired mobile phone and store the phone in a safe and secure place and you have a reliable cold storage.

154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Anyone Recommend Good altcoin wallets? on: January 23, 2018, 11:17:01 AM
I will recommend cryptonator and spectrocoin if you need convinience and easdm of use. If security is your concern go for Myetherwallet or Imtoken for ERC20 tokens.

I noticed that unlike previous progress announcements the hitBTC update did not have much positive impact on etn price. Could it be that the community isn't expecting much from hitBTC?
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Korea is getting ready to ban cryptocurrency trading. ruh roh on: January 22, 2018, 01:32:48 PM
This very sad news to hear, ive been thinking what will happen if all the countries declined cryptocurrencies in the future, will BTC survive? thats a billion dollar question that im sure every one of us wants to know the answer.

I think this thread's title has been overtaken by events. S. Korea is no longer going on with plans to ban cryptocurrency following a statement to that effect by the authorities in seoul.

GREAT!
News about hitbtc listing?

This is NOT a GREAT news  Undecided

Why isn't it a great news? I thought hitBTC is one of the big exchanges.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about bitcoin? on: January 21, 2018, 09:59:49 PM
I stumbled across bitcoin in 2010 while searching for alternative e-currency product soon after the suspension of transfers on e-gold in 2009. But then I didn't take advantage of the opportunity.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIRDROP]RealChain | High-End Consumer Goods Based On Block Chain on: January 14, 2018, 11:59:03 AM
An Airdrop is always a good way to get my attention.

Is RealChain something like Wabi, Waltonchain and Vechain? How does RealChain stand out?

Thanks for your attention!

RealChain is a new blockchain protocol which will make it much easier for transactions and appraisal process. The transaction distributed recorded in each node, making each party involved has an open and fair consulting procedure. Downstream parties and second-hand dealer will be of great benefit. In addition, human resource cost, artificial error and moral hazard will be significantly reduced by AI image identification.

Our Advantages:
- Superiority of luxury goods for counterfeiting data
- AI pattern recognition
- Commercial applications
- Trusted Authentication Service
- Information Desensitization
- A distributed identification ecology in the world

The RealChain foundation is the R & D and operator of RealChain products. It will work closely with TaoDangPu holdings to develop a new generation of high-end consumer goods trading system. RealChain product aims to improve transaction transparency and reduce fraud risk and transaction cost by block chain technology and AI technology in the trading scene of luxury goods, jewelry and art.

The TaoDangPu was established in 2013, which attracted three rounds of financing for over more than $50 million. The company is currently valued for over $300 million. Its investors include seven global well-known enterprises and large funds, such as JD Finance, 360 Finance, Blue-Run Ventures, Trust Bridge Partners and Northern Light Ventures etc. It is one of the world's largest high-end consumer goods finance and service platforms.

Being a new blockchain protocol, it means the token will be minable, right?
