Strange why? There's likely more than a thousand people named satoshi. If you'd just check the citation in that page you'll see that they apparently have his pic. Nothing in there says anything about bitcoin.

Just set your fee manually using https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ as a guide. BTW I just sent from bc.info using advanced send and the suggested fee was reasonable and low. ok cool but how do I see how many bytes my transaction will be? I've not sent it yet. IIRC you can't. BC.I doesn't let you see the full preview of your tx, or set a fee per kb manually. It does tell you the estimated confirmation time (which is not very reliable) when you change the fee.

TXid (if you've sent it)? I'm sure that it's because your transaction size is quite big. And again, the amount of btc being transferred have very little to do with the recommended fee. It's the size of the transaction that matters.

An extra 0.001 should be more than enough for most cases. That's how I do it.
That sounds like a simple strategy! Thanks for the fast reply No problem. BTW that 0.001 is for 2 transactions no more than 1KB (your tx should get to this size). If you're planning to make more transactions then it would be best to increase it. Your transaction size shouldn't be even close to 1KB if you just bought the bitcoins. And as said above the recommended fee can change drastically from time to time. So if you want to be safer or are using a wallet that set a fee automatically it might be good idea to double or triple that amount.

So, clearly, in the future, it's no good me just buying the amount of bitcoin that I want - I will have to buy more as well for future fee provision. But how much more should I add on to my purchase each time? How does anybody else handle this?

for example can i pay the miners the fee in a separate transaction so that they include this 0 fee tx in a block?
Probably. Try contacting Quickseller or macbook-air. They can push your tx to F2pool upon request (that doesn't mean they'll always do it though). Edit: Or you can find other pool operators and contact them.

That transaction is 3291 bytes in size and the fee is 55673 satoshi. This means you're only paying 16.9 satoshi per byte (0.00017 per KB). It's not high enough.

Thank you for the replies, so what other reason would cause a transaction with which I believe to be proper fees to have a Medium priority transaction on the blockchain unlike the high priority which it usually is ?
Post the txid so we can see what exactly caused it. Note that blockchain.info's estimation is often unreliable.

Sending high amount of btc doesn't mean high fee. The fee required depends on the size of transaction. According to https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ the right (recommended) fee right now is 60 satoshi per byte. Most wallets have a dynamic fee feature as of now. Use that if you don't want to set the fee per kb manually.

I have some BTC in different baskets earning me some decent profits. Now i want to start Lending BTC and i've allocated 5BTC for that. This is going to be my first time Lending Loans. However i want to be safe from people who are not going to pay me back. I'm willing to charge 10% interest for 2 Weeks.
1. What ways can i ensure that eveeryone who gets a loan from me pays it back and with interest charged, in full? 2. What would be a suitable collateral that i can request before giving out the loan. 3.What can be the ultimate qualifying criteria?
Thanks for your suggestions.
1. You can decrease the chance of defaulted loans by taking collateral (but you know that already). Knowing them in person helps too but that alone isn't enough. 2. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.msg6311902#msg6311902 . Some here are also taking bitcointalk accounts as collateral. If you choose to do the same, you need to make sure that the account isn't hacked by asking for a signed message from an old posted address. 3. In addition to the points above. Having many previous trades which requires the other party to trust the potential borrower helps too.

Oh. Hmm. He could also be talking about that. His post is very vague. OP should clarify.
OP doesn't seem to speak english well. I PMed him to clarify if he's trying to recover a bitcointalk account or something else and he replied with the post above, then PMed me pretty much the same thing as the first post when I asked again.

i set a big password but forgot it and the email address associated with my account, i deleted it so what to do now
Follow the instructions on this thread to recover your account. He's not talking about bitcointalk accounts but rather ripplehd, an altcoin. Oh. Whoops. I thought OP was talking about the bitcointalk account ripplehd. There goes my 100% report accuracy.

I'm thinking FUD. No one smart would believe that post without first seeing any proof (unfortunately some bitcoin users are too dumb for their own good). Also I don't see any reason why they made this public. In fact, posting the address allows anyone to see where the bitcoins will go after that.

Yes that's why I deleted it. This should've been it. Sorry for the confusion -----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE----- This is Crwth from Bitcointalk.org today is November 7, 2016
This is my address. -----BEGIN SIGNATURE----- 15LxBZ12C8VW5EsDVnRG8cnzJFAEDK9EQD H8dekP3Hc6SsvT8P3dnEmCt/iu2rYoTgKlWq2F5k+VIBKUBU5NAt+IFp/LoS59JP6/GbLzf2ED3i9aIMOf+JVrE= -----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Where exactly did you copy your wallet.dat to? If you're using windows it's should go under appdata/bitcoin or appdata/roaming/bitcoin by default. To get to appdata, press the Window button + R and enter "appdata".

@mocacinno The real message is actually just: This is Crwth from Bitcointalk.org today is November 7, 2016
This is my address. Also I see that Crwth already deleted his post.

Is signing message is important and helpful?
It's for proving that you own an address and can also be used as a way of verifying a message's authenticity (like PGP). On this forum it can be used to prove that you're the owner of an account that posted an address and recover a hacked account too so it's more important here.
