Bitcoin consumes a lot less computing power than Ethereum and its forks. Maybe Bitcoin scripts aren't the most elegant and easy to catch on, but they aren't Turing complete on purpose. These scripts are much easier to verify than Ethereum smart contracts. If you run a full node, you must execute all of them. For free.

What metric are you using to measure "less computing power" and "easier to verify"?

The same looped code vs. straight code takes more execution time, isn't it? The ETH VM isn't very optimised either. Oh, one more thing. No one really cares to educate people on writing quality smart contracts. Maybe because their devs don't know how to do that for themselves? Cheesy The DAO story is hilarious.

You better tell yourself what's the incentive for ppl to run Expanse nodes wasting CPU time on iterated calculations of useless smart contracts without getting any pay for that work?

EXP uses The exact same incentive model bitcoin uses lol what are you even on about?

For FRK being such a "dead shitcoin" there sure are alot of people coming out of the woodwork just to bust my nuts?

Sure the bagholders are kinda curious what gonna happen to their unfortunate investments.

Turning a shitcoin into a shitasset ain't gonna make it any more popular no matter how you gonna call it. Besides the Bitcoin scripting language is just fine if you are smart enough to understand it. 144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: September 18, 2016, 10:52:56 AM
... maybe we should open tickets on Cryptopia and ask them, - when they will add Gapcoin (already paid for it!) ?

At first glance, Cryptopia looks like an excellent exchange. They offer a lot of services and are aggressive about starting new projects. But the idea of paying to get a coin listed is a little messed up. BTC38 for example also has 'paid voting', but specifies that they do not profit from the paid voting http://www.btc38.com/trade/vote_for_trade_en.html , in other words their incentive is to list actual quality coins.

I want to buy some gapcoin, I have very little and do not mine, so if it gets listed on Cryptopia I'll buy there, but people should be looking for a better option, either a less whorish exchange or some other way to trade.

If a person wants to try and make a market in gapcoin by listing buy/sell orders with a spread that allows them to make a fair profit, I will buy some to start, and if their project looks reasonable I'll try to support it. [I plan to make some way to list gap offers but I am not able to do this as a longterm project and would rather somebody more capable did it.]

There is free voting, paid voting is for people who don't want to wait or risk losing to a more popular coin, calling the exchange whorish for that is retarded and a good way to get ignored.

We will gladly refund all votes if we are too whoreish for you precious coin.

No offence man, the ppl are just kinda puzzled why the coin isn't listed 3 weeks after that voting ended. I have a very good feeling about your exchange. It makes a good progress.

What about this one ?
https://beta.rawx.io/
Public launch on August 7 Huh
Who they are?

mcxNOW was a dodgy exchange of RealSolid. Solidcoin was the first scamcoin ever created.

Looks like he blew all money on dope, whores and blackjack in the past 2 years. It's time to make more for him. The Internets are full of suckers ready to get scammed.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: September 15, 2016, 01:33:20 PM
I'll tentatively buy small amounts of gap at the following prices, til it gets listed, I don't have much and made some money on Boolberry and Hunter so now is a good time to acquire I guess.

Last listed price was 0.00000570 http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/gapcoin/#markets
I'll buy 0.1 btc at that price and 0.1 in increments of 100 sats going down
i.e., 0.1btc at 0.00000470
0.1btc at 0.00000370
0.1btc at 0.00000270

If I continue doing well with other coins I'll try and make a larger "buy wall" at some intermediate price to support the coin until it gets listed again.

For anybody who has posted already on this thread and wants to sell gapcoin, I'll send btc first, up to 0.1, then you send gap. Anybody who has not posted on this thread yet will have to send first.

I may not answer quickly but anybody can post or message if interested.

We can set up a public Google spreadsheet with buy/sell offers, though I would prefer Cryptopia to list GAP finally.

dead or alive?

There was some work going. I think the dev is busy with his other coins now. This project didn't generate any real profit for him so far, so I'm not going to hurry up him. He will be back to finish the work when he has free time.

Any advise on how to resolve following error when using gpu to mine with.

[GPU1] share doesn't validate on CPU, hash=8d04abf7, target=000018da
[GPU1] share doesn't validate on CPU, hash=fb933a2c, target=000018da

minerd -a wildkeccak_ocl -o stratum+tcp://bbr.suprnova.cc:7777 -u iLikecoin.med -p x -l scratchpad.bin -k http://bbr.suprnova.cc/scratchpad.bin

Any advise on how to fix this please. Using miner cpuminer-multi-opencl

CPU miner works fine when suing the comnds and taking out ocl however using gpu gives the error above hoping someone can resolve this problem for me.

I get the same error

Resolved my problem after back tracking in this thread. Found was drivers for gpu.
use catalyst 15.12 or lower

Uninstall all your gpu drivers and install http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx

Now running smooth cant say the same for the pool am assuming its under ddos.

Glad you got it working, nope, no DDoS on suprnova, running fine.

I see too many reconnects to your pool. About 10% time my miners do nothing waiting for auth. It didn't happen with mbk's pool.

Its like the word "berry" somehow cuts at the very nature of bitcointalk users. Some weird universal relationship.
It's a childish name for a high tech product, just like "google" or "twitter".
It has a weird technical term "bool", just like "bit" in Bitcoin.
The "berry" part is just unbearable in a respectable, established brand, just like "burberry".

so childish names like google and twitter are ok, but childish names like berry aren't? not following logic...

If Blackberry phones and Raspberry Pi single board computers are ok, Boolberry should also be fine. MoneyHoneyPenny was much more entertaining Smiley

OH MY LORD!!!!!!! MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Now imagine if you bought at 2k sats a year ago. That's how you could buy a new Porsche Smiley

What if you would buy at 100k satoshi 2 years ago?

That would be a pretty dumb move for me. But I did buy some at 2k sats of course. Should have bought more, but Zoidberg's inactivity was discouraging.

Can Somebody clarify for me what this means when using the open cl miner  - GPU  (Share doesn't validate on CPU) are these being accepted or is there something I need to be doing

That's a hardware error. When a GPU finds a share, it gets verified by a CPU before sending to a pool.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry - RUNE EDITION by Blockchain Development Company [Polo/Bittrex] on: September 09, 2016, 03:00:28 AM
take over by a organization to compete MONERO?

To complement Monero

The Blockchain Development Company was formed because we noticed that isolated competition between cryptocurrency networks was inefficient, when development teams should all be working together. General improvements in the cryptocurrency economies will benefit all networks.

Boolberry needs updates and modernizations first, and then it's advantages over Monero and other cryptonote networks will shine.

I will try to setup node on your branch repo, but pls confirm wheter my hardware capable or not : 4GB RAM DDR3, AMD FX-6150, 3mb/s downlink 64kb/s uplink, 64 GB ssd storage.

I think you need more RAM especially if you're on Windoze.

Will GAP be listed on any exchange? Does anybody know?

Cryptopia will list it when they have time for it. GAP syncs rather slow.

It is funny, the diff was for a months very low to mine. Now when it is delisted and no any exchange the diff is much higher. I don't get it Smiley

The first halving is in 6k blocks.

Boolbd daemon version 0.3.1 and greater report to the network as a variant called RUNE. This is just a client name to differentiate from zoidberg clients on the network, the currency and project is still called Boolberry, but this will be used to easily see Blockchain Development Company code going forward

Thank you for your patience

When do you make it available for testing and production use?

Since I did not see this posted anywhere... http://pool.syscoin.org/ is now merge-mining Digibyte.

I am not affiliated with this pool

No, you mine Digibyte there and also get a bunch of merge mined coins like Syscoin on SHA-256 and Scrypt ports.

Hello!
How to recover Old Exclusive Coin Balance, I have used all ways to recover but useless. -rescan -reindex , changed blk....dat file used other ways but useless!

Anybody know how to recover old balance?

Kindly, solve this new Exclusive Coin wallet issue.

Thanks

The coin was swapped 1:10 on Bittrex. The old wallet won't be able to send over, your coin had to make it to Bittrex before the deadline.

Here is the new thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1546005.msg16106177#msg16106177

What to do know, i already trading on Bittrex kindly tell STEP BY STEP

Your old coins are lost unless the dev makes an exception and exchanges these coins manually for you.

Arg gave up too soon.  Look at the demand for monero right now because of its privacy on the darknet.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/5-major-reasons-why-monero-has-spiked

Yeah, I also think so. This coin could fly high with some uplifting right now and minor development in the near future. Monero was saved by the community once upon a time. Did the bagholders here also give up?

Is this stupid fuck busoni really going to delist a coin with 300+ BTC volume?

They are spoiled by ETH, ETC, XMR, DASH, FCT, etc. trade volume this year. They think it gonna continue forever. No, it won't.

Huge opportunity, anon coins are getting serious traction. Trump may win and suppress remittance in formal ways, anon coins are poised for a huge uptick.... bitcoin is may die in 2017....

Most people in the world don't give a shit if Trump wins or loses. They also don't give a shit WTF is going on in the United States at all. Bitcoin is larger than their local issues. It's glory days are yet to come.

Well if you don't think banning remittance to mexico will have an impact on crypto ($25 billion in 2015), then you and I think completely differently.

If you believe all bullshit people say in order to get elected, I'm kinda sorry for you. Even if Trump wins, there is no way for him to push this nonsense into a law. Anyway, crypto is the last thing uneducated braceros gonna use to send cash home. They are more comfortable putting cash into condoms and stuffing it up their asses.
