141  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [PLUG & PLAY][Ships 08/03] CHEAPEST! $235 Gridseed DualMiner [PAYPAL or ESCROW] on: March 05, 2014, 04:09:40 AM
The second batch is probably getting the tracking detail in the mail somewhere today?

We have the gridseed units in stock today, I am beginning dispatch tomorrow 6th March. I apologise for the delay as the Gridseed factory is very behind schedule. Another issue I am having is that 5-packs are beginning to be dispatch tomorrow but we have to wait until Friday 7th March for dispatch of 10-packs and more. Gridseed have  shortage of controllers and those are being shipped to me tomorrow and I will receive them Friday. I apologise to all for the delay encountered. The next batch March 8 will beginning shipping on Monday March 10th now. I will update the post to reflect this.

I will post photos of stock tomorrow and on Monday of the huge batch of units that we will have on hand.

Cheers

Can I purchase a controller by itself or can anyone tell me if I can run my gridseed off my computer?

I can sell you a controller for $75. But shipping will be around $40, depending on location. Better to run of controller than computer due to reset scripts being on the controller.

You can only estimate the hashrate with your pool. I have 6 running and I see it from 1600-2300kh....works for me. They are running on the cpu miner, it's scrypt only, the cpu miner can't read the gridseeds hashrate. I haven't really found how to run them in dual mode without having the controller. Also, it's important to note each chip is 7w, not each gridseed. So the gridseed runs at about 35w on scrypt, plus about 10w for the fan, a lot of people remove the fans when they build fancy setups, I am not going to do that.

I just opened up the pool I am mining on and it says about 1900kh with 6 gridseeds, as long as it doesn't say something like 500kh, I'm not too worried.

This is true if you run the original version of Gridseeds CPUminer, which didn't disable the SHA256 cores in Scrypt-only mode.
Crypto Mining Blog have a modified CPUminer available which disables the SHA256 cores, thus ensuring that each unit (including fan) consumes ~10W.

Thanks for the link scryptographer. BTW, are you interested in more units? =)

I just wanted to post 1 more picture for you guys. I was in batch 1. Mine are all running hashcows (a switchpool that jumps to most profitable at the time), and I would have to take a video, but it seems these switch and pick up the new stratum slightly faster than the gpus which is kind of nice. I have already mined, TIPS, POT, DOGE, DGB, and a ton of other scrypt coins.

My setup is hot mess right now because I used to have 2 computers running 9 gpus on that contraption I built, but I sold one computer as the 6 gridseeds I have are faster than that computer with 7850s was. They sell 6ft, 12ft and 15ft usb to usb mini (don't buy micro) on tigerdirect for $2-$3 each. I just order 8 to be safe, 12ft cables, so I can move them away from the gpu rig and build them their own contraption. You can also buy long 12v 7a power cords (made for led lighting) on ebay for $10 each. I have a bunch of them on their way as well. I guess since I already bought the amount I needed, these power the gridseeds I have 1 gridseed running on one right now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/350626186462?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

If you don't get a controller, you have to run a separate instance of miner-d for each gridseed you have, not really too big of a deal.

Nice pic. I like your style. Don't worry, miner is even more ghetto. I used an upside down caged basket with cutouts on every side for access.

Mybe a dumb question but because of all of the topics about gridseed I don't know where to look for.

Can it mine alternative currency like Dogecoin ?

Thanks again!

Yes, you can mine all scrypt coins.

Guys over at cryptomining-blog.com have come out with a new compiled version of cpu miner which reduces the power draw for ltc mining

Here's the download link of the cpu miner
http://cryptomining-blog.com/wp-content/files/cpuminer-GC3355-win32-fixed.zip

Hey thanks for that.

But does anyone have a working version of cgminer or bfgminer for this GS3355 units?

I can offer 0.3BTC for a working cgminer or bfgminer (preferred) version.

I am currently working on my own version of GS miners, similar to lightningAsic. It will be in English with more features. And users will not be locked out of their controller. I am still tossing up on whether to build this on the GS controller or Raspberry PI. I think Pi is the way to go though.

I finally received my LA3M yesterday and got it up and running very quickly. However I'm just getting maximum around 3.5M, any idea how to get this higher and close to 5M which was what was originally stated by Jack.

I don't think you will get that speed.

Has anyone got that speed for a stable consistent period?

I think it was a marketing ploy. So sorry.

When I boot up my miners, some of them are running at speeds of 600-800kh for 5 mins. But that's because the output is based on accepted shares. That is not the real long term speed.

I can keep rebooting the miners until I get the reading I like and screenshot it.

I have measured these thing. The best they can hash at is around 3.6-4.0mh at the miner. Pools will report lower due to rejected shares.

Think about it, if Gridseed could have got better speeds out if it, they would have. Not leave it to a reseller to make a better firmware. Gridseed has a team of 20 people. How many works at LightningAsic?

Hey there left you a message. I think you sent me a bit more than the amount listed here. THanks.

hey there bearsworth,

sorry for the misunderstanding, it was always that sale price plus shipping and paypal fees (if using paypal). I understand if the price is not suitable for you, but at this price I am still the cheapest price around.

Probably Win 7 and I will have 2 controllers.

It will be a single pool, but I would like to have something setup in windows so I can have Teamviewer.

I have this page bookmarked so I can use it to get it all running. I imagine it is going to be interesting to get it all going.

It's really pretty simple Smiley

I recommend you use the controller, you can teamviewer in and access the webpage to the controller.  Grab one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Electronics-Anywhere-Automation-Smartphones/dp/B00BB2MMNE/ref=dp_ob_title_ce or these http://3gstore.com/product/4186_single_outlet_remote_power_switch.html and you can do remote reboots on the controller.

Inglewood can get you a 10% discount on the amazon one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=121168 I've passed a few thousand dollars of orders through him with no issues.

Hi,

Thanks for the setup guide. Donation sent!!

Talk about overpriced hardware.  Cheez not everyone is that desperate.

Oh right, you have 496 units of these in stock at $7,000. So you have $3.5m in stock. If you are going to lie about it make it more believable.

Anyway, I can get the sale price closer to $5k

And by the way I am in talks with the makers and they only have beta units atm. The real ones are only released on March 10.

So don't BS =)

Will you be getting more in stock after the March 8th sale?  Would love to get an order in, although I don't think I'll have funds cleared by that time.   Smiley

Next batch is March 15th. Cheers
