Most people who posted in this thread are utterly clueless about the subject of conversation. Go fork yourself a cluelesscoin or something.

Lol, says the guy that told people to buy above $200 before the crash and then is commenting on cluelessness.  You even asked if the crash was over and it crashed again down to $50.  You have no idea what you are saying.  End of story.

ROFL. You have just proven my point.

What that you are an idiot?
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING! Bitcoin will soon block small transaction outputs on: May 05, 2013, 10:26:50 PM
If the vast majority of the community doesn't like this move can't we just ignore the new patch and refuse to upgrade?

Go ahead. :-) I think you will be disappointed however.

How so? If the vast majority stick with the 0.8.1 client I think the 0.8.2 client people would be disappointed.
Bitcoin is still Beta level software- there are still quite a few bugs to be worked out.

Um, transaction size is not a bug.

No, it's not, and I didn't mean to imply that. What I meant to convey is that you could still with this version of the bitcoin software if you want, but you would be missing out on all the bugs that get fixed with later version releases. Hence the "I think you will be disappointed". Because I think the future advantageous of the newer software will outweigh this issue.

Also, who says this is permanent? Maybe it's a stop gap measure to satisfy some pressing demands while a better solution is found.

Rabbit, I like your posts I really do.  But you are defending something only the bitcoin "millionaires" want.  So far the majority of the bitcoin world is against this if you check the other post/poll in this sub and the votes.  I don't care if it's permanent or not.  Transaction size should not be limited. Period.

145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Boycott 0.8.2 on: May 05, 2013, 09:39:47 PM
This is sad in so many ways. To sum it up :

*2. No alternatives to resist this.

You can very easily resist this. That's what this topic is all about. Simply refuse to "upgrade" to 0.8.2.

The problem being... If miners upgrade to 0.8.2 then they won't even see your transaction.
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING! Bitcoin will soon block small transaction outputs on: May 05, 2013, 09:36:35 PM
I think that the point here is that we don't have any better solutions. I don't care about pico dollars transactions. I'm worried about how it looks like we can't handle a high volume of transactions.

Agreed.  Also who is saying the price is staying where it is?  It could go to 10k then these transactions would be necessary.  So we change functionality again?  Sorry, this is bullshit.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Boycott 0.8.2 on: May 05, 2013, 09:34:25 PM
Let's see the power of the free-market flex its muscle and boycott an upgrade.

I think this will actually be a good experiment. It will show the world that we aren't being led by the nose by a few devs.

Don't get me wrong, I have all the respect in the world for the devs, Gavin included.

But this is not a popular fix. I think it's safe to say the large majority of Bitcoiners DO NOT want to block microtransactions.

Let's show the devs who's boss and refuse to upgrade to 0.8.2. unless the "patch" is removed.
From what i've read, what your saying is that 0.8.2. is going to not allow micro transactions? What defines a micro transaction?

You mean who?  Gavin.  Gavin now decides how we spend our Bitcoins.

Op make a poll!
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING! Bitcoin will soon block small transaction outputs on: May 05, 2013, 09:32:47 PM

Volatility of price is one thing...volatility of functionality is another.

Bingo...

149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING! Bitcoin will soon block small transaction outputs on: May 05, 2013, 09:31:32 PM
I don't want to derail this thread, which is a good debate on whether or not there should be a patch.

So, for those who are firmly in the camp that this is a very bad patch and want to boycott the upgrade, go here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=196259.msg2040300#msg2040300

You need to make a poll...

If the majority doesn't upgrade and the majority doesn't want it.  Then the devs need to listen to the majority.  End of Story.

This is bad news for Bitcoin.

Well, there is always Litecoin.

Cheers.

Uh, last I checked Litecoin is *more* expensive per transaction then Bitcoin. In order to fix the dust spam problem transaction fees are very high.

And last I heard there is a massive update due for Litecoin that is changing the transaction fees.  Unless no one is working on Litecoin and I was misinformed.

Short term gox taking on litecoin has to be bullish
I don't believe it ever happen after Mt.Gox was sued and Litecoin is least priority for them now.

Really?  Because the sooner they start trading LTC the more money they rake in in trade fees.  LTC is an instant cash cow for any exchange accepting it.  An exchange is a business and the bottom line for any business is making more money. Period.

Also, a lawsuit of this magnitude will take years to play out.  I see zero reason it will affect Gox in the short term, i.e. adding LTC, and adding their new trading platform.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: They are rumors on the litecoin forum that Mt Gox will not launch LTC trading on: May 05, 2013, 02:53:20 PM
Users on BTC-E seems to be convinced that Mt Gox has enough problems now so LTC will not be added.

dani: is it true that Mt Gox will not add LTC trade ?

w8emz: debating whether or not I should buy BTC now, or wait a bit in hopes itll come back down some... hmm. Any ideas?

bushstar: I do wonder if BFL will ever manage to produce a 1.5TH minirig

Chade: yes

kauhywka: dani, yes

Um, who cares what they spout?  You are only trying to spread FUD by citing a troll box.

You can read the litecoin announcement from Gox here:
https://mtgox.com/pdf/20130424_ddos_statement_and_faq.pdf

Edit:  Just took a look at your join date.  lol...
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: They are rumors on the litecoin forum that Mt Gox will not launch LTC trading on: May 05, 2013, 02:40:32 PM
Lol... So a dude with two posts on that forum comes on and says there are rumors that they aren't adding LTC and doesn't site a source?  I'm going to guess he got his well informed info from the btc-e troll box.

Litecoin is specifically addressed in their latest announcement as can be seen here:
https://mtgox.com/pdf/20130424_ddos_statement_and_faq.pdf

Stop spreading FUD.  With the latest news of this lawsuit.  It would be in Goxs' best interest to get LTC trading going as soon as possible to raise some more money for the suit.

I am now dumber for reading that thread.  Thanks.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: Feathercoin just hit BTC-e on: May 02, 2013, 07:42:58 PM
can't post much now as I'm on my phone. I'm done with BTC-E. I can hold my ltc until it his gox. I'll be withdrawing all my funds as soon as I can from BTC-E. Will post more later.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: derezzed is scammer! on: May 02, 2013, 06:01:52 AM
No longer trust anyone , and I've been cheated 130ltc

Good noob.  I hope you've learned your lesson.  Stop trading BS alt's with real cryptos that are worth real money.

I hope losing over $500 usd had taught you something!

as LTC will likely fall a lot more in the end.

LOL... another purist with zero comprehension skills.  Time to get with the now...

Great argument!

Quote my words and watch me be right...  It's the best one yet to come.

Cheers.

Another great argument!

You obviously aren't getting what I'm saying.  There is no argument other than the one you are trying to create.  Everything you've said has been stated before and knocked down again... over and over.  I no longer entertain idiots, retards, or people who cant see the forest for the trees.  Back to ignore you go.

LTC is going to gox.  Deal with it.

sooo what exchange is good for ltc?

And people wonder why ltc will rise once it hits gox?  No one knows how to get LTC... at least the mainstream doesn't.

Google it and you'll see...  I won't recommend an exchange as I get paid by no one.  Once it goes to Gox though. It'll be too late.  Quote me on that.
