141  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency is a trending topic all over the world? on: August 02, 2018, 05:40:49 PM
Everywhere you can find cryptocurrency topic especially ICO projects are doing well on the marketing through social media like facebook, twitter, reddit, linked, youtube and etc. Celebrities, influential individuals and high ranking government officials are talking about cryptocurrency and that is why i think cryptocurrency is a trending topic all over the world. Do you agree with me? Even haters help cryptocurrency to be known all over the world so let just leave the haters then.
No, this topic is not trending but we can observe the increased interest of people in cryptocurrencies if compared with even a couple of years ago.
This hype is a bit artificial, I would say, but it definitely helps to promote the idea of blockchain and attract new investors to the market
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I will never join AirDrop programs any more on: August 01, 2018, 08:29:43 PM
I have already joined hundreds of airdrops but I got nothing until now. I will never join AirDrop programs any more.
- Each airdrop rewards only some token, that its value from $5 to $20 (calculated by the ICO price)
- Most of the token are dead now (just spammed projects or shit coins)
- Some tokens have been listed on Coinmarketcap now but the token price is terrible low. The value even equal to the transaction fee if I send the tokens to exchanges.
Airdrops are just a way of creating hype and forcing as many people as possible to join telegram groups.
I am sure that the projects you got these tokens from are dealing with absolutely unnecessary things like selling luxury goods on blockchain or some law-related projects.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to choose bounty? on: August 01, 2018, 08:24:10 PM
We all know that there are a lot of bounty in the bounty section as we can see, but my question is how to choose good bounty campaign that we are able to  earn money? Many people mention, that the only way to determine whether the bounty is profitable or not  is by reading its white paper but may I ask to those expert here what is the other way to determine the profitable bounty?
Reading white paper is important, but is not the main factor of choosing a good bounty.
One should also keep in mind the activity of the project team (comnunication in telegram and social media), clear terms of reward distribution (is should be clearly stated when the tokens will be paid), availability of a spreadsheet (so that you could control your work). And, of course, you should try to calculate your possible reward before entering a bounty.

144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who sells BTC now? on: August 01, 2018, 07:25:54 PM
The one who really knows his own strategy will never start a topic asking whether to hold or sell.
The behavior of traders (or holders) is very much personal and depends on many factors, particularly:
1) the number of btc one owns,
2) the price one bought these btc for respectively to the current price,
3) life situation (e.g. force majeurs that make one to sell his bitcoins even in the dip).
145  Economy / Economics / Re: With Hackers everywhere, How safe is Cryptocurrency? on: August 01, 2018, 07:14:24 PM
Its no longer news that an ICO in Japan has lost over $400 million to hackers. They promised to pay back investors who invested in their ICO. Thsi is a huge loss. After I read that news, I began to wonder. How safe is Bitcoin and Other altcoins? What measures should we take to avoid being hacked ?
Almost every digital data in this world can be hacked, so our funds are as safe as any other resourse (emails, pin-codes, social accounts, personal info).
Storing coins on exchanges has become a huge problem because you never know whether another hack attack would affect your money.
I can't think of a clear answer what to do in such a situation, maybe just try to choose the most reliable exchanges for trading.
146  Economy / Economics / Re: When will people feel comfortable using BTC ? on: August 01, 2018, 07:06:28 PM
When will people spend BTC as easily as fiat , not seeing it as an investment opportunity but a better currency for them to use ? Most of my friends that I have currently told about Bitcoin are most intrigued by its rapid rate of growth and not its outstanding features as a currency. They don't really care that it is free from government control , but are more focused on the fact that it has risen xy%

I will percieve bitcoin as a means of payment when I am able to buy a cup of coffee using btc in every small coffee-shop.
Though yeah, I don't wanna be like that guy who bought pizza for 10k btc..
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FIAT rewards for bounty hunters. on: July 29, 2018, 08:20:28 PM

Hello all members!
I am a bounty hunter, as well as many of you  Smiley Wink
And I heard that bounty hunters dump the coin price at the ico end.
So I was wondering, if the team doesn't want its coins to be sold on exchange date and thus be dumped, why they reward bounty hunters with their token, not FIAT.
Because they anyway accept fiat for selling the tokens, so the coin won't be dumped by bounty hunters, and bounty hunters are satisfied too.
Because those who need money, they have it, those who want tokens, can buy it at exchange etc.
Getting a reward in tokens might be more profitable because you never know how many X this coin will make.
Over the past several months I kept a number of bounty tokens in my wallet worth around $50, but today they were pumped and sold at a price like 11 times higher.
Isn't that more pleasurable than getting a fiat reward?  Wink
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The longer the bounty, the fewer the earnings? on: July 29, 2018, 08:15:36 PM
My friend just told me recently that he is leaving the bounty that we both joined last January. The ICO has been delayed many times and it is getting longer. He said that the longer the bounty period of an ICO, the fewer the coins that you will earn. So it is true based from your experience? Should I also leave or stay?
I might be late with my advice, but yes, if the bounty pool was not increased, and the campaign was extended, you will get a lesser reward.
The number of tokens you get also depends on the number of participants as there is a certain formula used for calculation of stakes.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you even read whitepaper bro? on: July 28, 2018, 10:19:36 PM
Let be real. How many of you guys actually read the whitepaper? I read whitepaper sometimes, but reading multiple of them can be a burden and a headache. Do you guys got any tips on getting through whitepaper a little faster. It killing a lot of time. Thank.
It's not necessary to read the whole white paper, as many of WPs have a lot of "milk-and-water".
I personally try to identify the key points I want to learn about the project (main problem, solution, technology, tokens policy, team background) ans study only those sections that describe the items listed above.
150  Economy / Economics / Re: Why lot of countries do not allow to use Crpto? on: July 28, 2018, 10:13:11 PM
As an example, if a person has Eth and someone from another country needs to buy Eth, that buyer needs to pay the seller in terms of dollars. Then that seller needs to convert that Dollars to his native currency which means it creates a the demand for the native currency and increase the value of the currency.
You've got a point here.
I wish that every lawmaker would think not only about money laundering but also about the benefits crypto brings into economies.
Moreover, intense crypro-related activities testify for the well-being of the population and could be an objective indicator of the economic situation of a country as a whole.

151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I do not panic when the market falls on: July 26, 2018, 01:07:15 PM
For some reason I am sure that the price of the crypto will rise, so I hold it, I did not see any analyst who did not have the same opinion as I do, but thing that motivates me the most — is when I start comparing the whole current situation with the Dot-com bubble, the fact is that this bubble busted reaching 6 trillion dollars, the crypto reached only 830 billion yet, in its peak. During Dot-com bubble only middle and rich class had opportunity to invest but not all, in the crypto everybody can invest, regardless of country and day time and it also can be done anonymously from jour home computer, so I think that this is all just the beginning and the real bubble is yet to come, it is not known when it will come — in five or 10 years, but I hope that it will.
Wow, you've got steel nerves, and this is the most important quality for crypto holder.
I still panic a bit when the prices rapidly go down, but I calm myself down that crypto is a good investment and the situation will change to the better.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it normal to wait for 6 months for a bounty reward? on: July 26, 2018, 01:03:24 PM
Most of us join bounty campaigns because it is one of the means for us to get coins. I just want to verify how many of us have experienced waiting for a long period of time to get our coins. Don't get me wrong, i do trust the managers and what they say. And, most of them give valid  reasons why it'll take that long for them to distribute the rewards. In average, how long do you receive your coins after a bounty campaign?
6 months is definitely not normal, usually is should take up to 2 months to get bounty reward.
They generally distribute tokens ~6 weeks after the end of ICO - so make your own conclusions.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long should one have to wait to sell on: July 25, 2018, 09:56:05 PM
Bitcoin keep on falling down  and no sign of raising. How long can we keep holding?
Based on your post it took around 4 months for btc to go up.
Basically, it all depends on the news about regulation and improvements to bitcoin's blockchain. It's all very simple - good news bring gradual rise of btc price and bad news make a just the opposite effect.
154  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin investing on: July 25, 2018, 09:52:16 PM
so, what id like to do is invest bitcoins to a stock or mutual fund account, but am not sure the best way to go about it. any tips/advice?
Bitcoin is investment itself, more and more people call it a speculative asset rather than a means of payment.
So why wouldn't you just hold your btc and wait for its price to grow in August-September, when SEC is likely to approve ETF?
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is For Risk Takers on: July 25, 2018, 09:35:58 PM
I seen lots of people are panic and selling and spreading FUD . But based on my experience people who really dare to take risk only won here .
Wise and daring investors are still searching for good potential coins to invest while its really cheap were greedy people are panic and spreading FUD
Finally people who dare to invest bitcoin even when the price of 100$ they created fortune here . Its completely daring and vision not at aall luck . SO if you are having real vision and want to make milestone in life then be here in crypto and support other wise please quit .
Taking risk is almost as seeing the future, so it’s natural that panic and FUD is spread by those who didn't manage to make their timely investment.
That's actually what you mean by "real vision" - one has to be a real expert in technical analysis to be lucky in crypto.
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin failed as a currency on: July 25, 2018, 09:03:01 PM
Bitcoin was supposed to be used as a currency, not only a form of investment. However, it's been more successful as a form of investment, a "speculative asset".

Do you guys think that this can change in the long term ?

The situation will definitely change, but this process could take up to several years for all the disadvantages of bitcoin to be eliminated.
Now btc blockchain is still slow and expensive. I just hope that enhancements like Lightning will be implemented widely as soon as possible (though there have already been 10,000 active channels on Lightning mainnet as of July 22, 2018).
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Schools Are Officially Accepting Bitcoin for Tuition on: July 25, 2018, 08:49:08 PM
Universities are embracing accepting bitcoin for tuition, with Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland the latest school to adopt. If anything, it's another clear sign the cryptocurrency is here to stay.

https://futurism.com/schools-accepting-bitcoin-tuition/

Even so... Bitcoin has been used to buy homes, and countries like Venezuela and Vietnam are beginning to truly embrace the currency. Now, certain universities are adopting the payment method of bitcoin for tuition, albeit with a few caveats.
I wonder what universities would do if they accepted tuition when btc was equal to $6,000 and then it went up to $8,000 in several months.
Hope that there are certain specialists in these educational institutions dealing with crypto that would now allow them to lose money in periods of high volatility.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why KYC is important? on: July 25, 2018, 08:40:50 PM

Enkidu has it's pre-sale going on right now. The minimum viable product has been developed before the pre-sale.
Join our Telegram group for more information: https://t.me/enkiduofficial
Join our token sale here: https://tokensale.enkidu.io

Hah, what a nice try to promote your project by creating a topic with a challenging name Wink

If seriously, there are 2 reasons I can see why KYC is needed:
1. Complying with local regulations;
2. Trying to reduce the number of bots registered and thus bringing more "real' money.

So yes, avoiding problems is actually the main thing why KYC is required by most ICOs.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For the love of... don't keep your coins on exchanges on: July 23, 2018, 05:15:29 PM
Again we saw an exchange got hacked. There would be nothing to hack there if people didn't keep their coins on exchanges! For the love of Dog (lol), don't keep your coins on exchanges, start practicing safety, this is your investment we are talking about!
Following your logic, there would be no robberies at all, if people at all didn't possess any valuable things  Cheesy
Maybe it's rather the problem of the exchange that did not take enough precautions to protect the people's savings?
I also assume that hack attacks could be successful because of leak of data from the owners of the exchange..
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of magic is this? on: July 23, 2018, 05:04:34 PM
I've been monitoring the market for a couple of months now. Most of the coin value rely on the price of Bitcoin. If the BTC price goes up, every altcoins will follow and if it will goes down, the price of every altcoins will goes down as well. But the question is, Bitcoin price/value is still going up but the price/value of every altcoins especially Ethereum goes down. How did this happen? Any logical or scientific basis to explain this. As of now, I am still confuse.  Huh
The answer is rather simple - everybody is waiting for the introduction of ETF (bitcoin-based exchange-traded fund) in mid-August.
The investors are steadily buying up bitcoins in order to be ready when it grows several times. It seems that demand exceeds supply, so the price is constantly going up.
ETF has nothing to do with Ethereum (and other altcoins), so what we can observe now is that btc has already gained around $1,000, but eth still costs $460-480.
