181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC for Airdrops: A bad precedence on: July 12, 2018, 09:00:22 PM
I have recently seen where bounty hunters were asked to present identifying documents.  Am really against kyc because one of the reasons I joined crypto was the anonymity which it provides. But sadly that's gently creeping away.

Now this KYC has come into airdrops. Imagine am to submit my ID to some I don't know which planet he or she or they are from for some pennies worth tokens.

It's terrible and this is a bad precedence these people are setting.

If as a community we do not say no to this,  then it would become the norm.
I've never seen airdrops that require KYC, but that's a really stupid idea of making people reveal their identity for those pennies.
I just hope that these projects do not sell the documents to unknown third parties..
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain as a revolutionary technology? on: July 11, 2018, 02:08:50 PM
Hi guys, have you ever thought about blockchain? If it is really revolutionary technology? I am reading many pessimistic opinions and articles, that it is not good technology. For example speed and massive adoption, we see this problem in Bitcoin blockchain and the transactions on blockchain, because it is the oldest one and there are the biggest number of transaction stored in blockchain, will this happen to every altcoins in the future? Will the Lightining network solve this problem? Why the Lightning network is not fully released - thanks to the miners - they want bigger rewards or? And what about mining - what will happen if we invent a quantum computer? Could we really trust in decentralized anonymous transactions in today's world?

Looking for your replies.

Blockchain is definitely revolutionary- it is based on the efforts of millions of people and is practically indestructible for as long as the Internet connection exists.
Hopefully, Lightning will solve all the problems related to the speed of transactions and fees - this will rocket bitcoin to the sky.

As for the use of quantum computer for mining, CoinFac is already implementing this idea (read here: https://nulltx.com/coinfac-announces-quantum-computing-technology-for-cryptocurrency-mining/).
Such a computer costs $5-10 million, so only wealthy miners can afford that, which brings substantial imbalance in the process of mining.
183  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy going up and up everyday on: July 11, 2018, 01:57:50 PM
I think communities, countries, specific groups of people will make their own currency (and also money) out of thin air, and this is how our societies will function soon.

Can't agree with you - traditional money is based on goods or services provided by this or that group of people.
Inflation means that these goods and services are no longer highly demanded by other groups of people.
This can happen for many reasons starting from a higher price than with competitors and ending with force majeure circumstances like war or natural disaster.
Societies will always function on the basic principle of economy (amount of demand and supply), and nothing can stop this perpetual mutually-beneficial exchange.
184  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do older people like investing in Gold/Silver? on: July 11, 2018, 01:39:45 PM

Does anyone here know the reason behind people loving precious metals?
If you mean people that are like 60-70 years old now, they caught up with the economic crisis and the fall of dollar that took place in 1970s.
Precious metals then seemed to be the most reliable investment against the background of constant fluctuation of money.
So, loving gold and silver is just an acquired habit and following of tradition.

185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All in one crypto digital wallet! on: July 11, 2018, 01:32:16 PM
If i will be given a chance to do a project with cryptocurrency then i will be making an all in one digital wallet for all crypto that includes bitcoin and all altcoins using same wallet address. I have seen too many digital wallet from known digital wallet for ERC20 tokens and for bitcoin digital wallet but i never saw a digital wallet that will cater all the digital currency either bitcoin or altcoins. If i have only the capacity to do it like having a good team developer and a financer then i guess i could make a revolutionary digital wallet.
Harmonization is a good idea but your concept is unrealizable due to different address format of different blockchains.
Also, this could bring increased vulnerability and lead to numerous successful hack attacks.
One of the main rules of crypto market is diversification - one should definitely not store all the coins in one basket.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Property? What might be the best investment? on: July 11, 2018, 01:14:56 PM

I think paying a high interest rate to a Bank is just as bad as paying rent to a Landlord, because you are getting screwed in both these circumstances.  Angry

We all want to live in big houses that we cannot afford.  Roll Eyes
Real estate is a more reliable investment as you can never know what would happen on crypto market the next day.
Definitely, it is better to live in your own house/flat than to rent one having to spend on that up to 50% of your monthly earnings.
I've heard about some reckless adventurists who sold their houses and invested all the money in crypto - one has to be indeed a very risky bro to do that.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are investors got tired of ICOs? on: July 11, 2018, 01:08:33 PM
It seems that investors got tired of ICOs in the last months. Do you believe that ICO hype will come back soon?
Recently there have been too many projects with almost similar ideas and way of implementation.
Of course people get tired (and maybe are feel afraid) of the bunch of the same stuff that could be an ordinary scam.
ICOs segment definitely needs a pause for people to rest a bit and set new goals.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SLeepless nights doing bounty campaign is it worth it? on: July 11, 2018, 01:04:47 PM
Some are just boasting on their bounty campaign earning wherein fact maybe because they are lucky to receive those awards but somehow do not wish that you could be like them because some of the ICO project that you will going to work will not give bounty rewards and some of it will fail, or just pause. So no reason for sleeping late at night.
You are saying that just because you might have failed to find a decent bounty campaign for the project with good idea and helpful managers.
Bounty hunting, you know, can be a full-time job requiring significant efforts especially on the research and analysis stage.
Ultimately, doing bounties is worth it because you can get a really nice reward from reliable projects having a ready-made product.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Knowledge is the foundation on: July 05, 2018, 08:37:48 PM
It is needful to say that before the completion of a magnificent building, it starts from the foundation, therefore, to excel as a crypto enthusiast you must start from the foundation, which is through the acquisition of knowledge.
I will not deny the fact that learning is a continuous process, but whoever is coming newly into crypto, should try as much as possible to learn first the rudiments before venturing into any aspect of crypo in order to avoid making costly mistakes.
What you already know cannot be taken away from you...
So, start from the foundation today and get the best from the crypto space.
I fully agree with you and just don't understand the newbies that invest in like 5+ coins without even making an elementary analysis of the projects.
Crypto is steadily changing and acquiring new technologies and one must constantly have finger on the pulse in order to stay informed about the current situation.
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin price effect on Altcoin on: July 05, 2018, 08:29:56 PM
Hey everyone,
How strongly Altcoin value relate to bitcoin price. Can we know the condition of ETH/BTC ratio by analyzing BTC/USD value ?
If you analyze the charts you will see that ALL altcoins follow the behavior of bitcoin with minor discrepancies.
So logically if BTC/USD value decreases, the same will happen with ETH and other coins and ETH/BTC ratio will be almost the same.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: shall i convert my bitcoins to ethereum? on: July 05, 2018, 08:24:03 PM
i was thinking to sell my bitcoins and buy ethereum what do you thinkl guys
Ethereum depends on the price of bitcoin and there is a clear correlation with the behavior of both coins.
At the same time, everything can happen on crypto market, so I wouldn't recommend buying solely one coin.
Instead you can make it 50/50.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3000 Bitcoins ATM worldwide !!!! on: July 05, 2018, 08:11:18 PM
Bitcoins distributors are increasing. Indeed, the symbolic bar of the 3 000 distributors in the world has just been crossed, and there are about six new installations each day. So the situation is changing very quickly.

I don't quite get who these machines are used by.
Isn't it better to buy or sell crypto directly from your home?
Why would one go out of his comfortable chair and search for BTC ATM on the other end of the city?
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does Bitcoin protects people from ?? on: July 05, 2018, 08:05:39 PM
Gold and silver are hedge against inflation/price rise and they protect people's wealth during wars, natural disasters such as Earthquakes, hurricanes, cyclones, economic crisis, 9/11 terrorists attack etc.. so gold and silver are a store of value.

Stock markets are indicators of sales in the economy. When there is sales for the company as per study, they are profits and share price rise. if there is loss, the share price falls.

As a commodity, what does Bitcoin price show or protects people from ??   Grin
The main advantage is that bitcoin protects you from intrusion into your personal life.
There are absolutely no restrictions (maybe except for the speed of transactions) on how you can spend your coins.
It protects your personality and anonymity and that's why bitcoin is becoming even more popular.
194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is dead many times! on: July 05, 2018, 08:01:51 PM
I read so many threads about warnings on bitcoin possibility that it will end. Well i do not believe on them instead i buy more bitcoins and other establish crypto since this the good time to get huge profit in the near future. Well if it will end then i have no worries because this is investment and part of it is the risk. All investments are having risk and if you take the risk it will end either earning good profit or a loss of money.
Tired of all this pessimism because of temporary difficulties..
There is really no reason for worrying - bitcoin will live as long there is electricity and Internet.
Moreover, it will become even more valuable as the time goes by. So you're right about buying your favourite coin..
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies Can Never Replace Fiat – Says EU report on: July 04, 2018, 11:53:31 PM
The European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) has come up with a report on cryptocurrency entitled “Virtual currencies and central bank’s monetary policy: challenges ahead”. The finding of reports shows that cryptocurrency will not replace fiat currency, even in the long term. https://bit.ly/2NeLgLr
Seemingly, this report just acknowledged the existing state of affairs - cryptocurrency is not able to replace fiat money just because of the tradition that established hundreds of years ago.
Crypto can be just an additional method of payment unless it is widespread among all the social groups (which could happen in at least 3-5 years).
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Quit your job to promote bounty campaigns fulltime: unrealistic???? on: July 03, 2018, 06:08:56 PM
Last night I had a discussion with a friend if it's possible to quit your job and make a fulltime living of promoting bounty campaigns.
My friend thought you need to promote a lot of bounties at the same time (100 per week), to compensate for the
uncertain number of bounties that will never to lead to any income (coin cannot get listed, withdrawal fees of exchange is too high, scam, etc.).

So the question is: do you agree with this statement?
I totally disagree with your friend.
Why don't you just spend a bit more of your time for making a detailed research and calculations in order to choose only the best bounties that will 99% give you the reward?
In such a case you wouldn't have to do 100 bounties per week to compensate for something, 10-15 will be enough to earn a decent living.
197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2018 the most crucial year for bitcoin? on: July 03, 2018, 05:53:13 PM
Bitcoin exceeded $ 10,000 in 2017. What's going to happen to Bitcoin in the coming year?
This year will be crucial for BTC in terms of regulation because the popularity of bitcoin increased rapidly and much attention was brought to the whole blockchain technology.
Governments will do their best when trying to control this anonymous source of money and this will definitely affect BTC price.
I just hope that these attempts will not lead to bitcoin getting back to $1,000 in the nearest several months..
198  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it true that a whale moved 8k BTC? on: July 02, 2018, 01:59:52 PM
Hello,
I heard that there is a whale that moved 8k BTC to an exchange and that what caused the price to go down in addition of Stop-Losses being triggered. Is that true? What do you think? If it's true I consider it to be a big problem as we clearly see that whales manipulate the market easily which is harmful.
Quite tired of all those speculations regarding the movement of bitcoin between the addresses and exchanges.
Imagine what would happen if every single transaction of fiat money would lead to rumors and fluctuations of price.

"$600 million were deposited today in XXX bank". - Bang! - "USD fell down for 20 percent!"

Just let those people live in peace and their business the way they like unless it is forbidden by the rules.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I do not understand the pessimism on: July 02, 2018, 01:36:32 PM

What I do not understand is why most people are so pessimistic and talk about "these hard times for *coin".

Hard times are for those people who bought BTC for $10k hoping that it will reach $50k be the end of the year.
It is indeed very discouraging to see that the value of your asset is "melting" every single day.
Though I do agree with you that bitcoin was a bit overestimated over the past several months and its current price reflects the more or less real demand.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It could take 2 years for the market to recover on: June 30, 2018, 09:39:14 PM
I wish I was joking but this market will take at least 2 years to recover and build momentum again.
Market fundamentals have changed!
I wish you were a bit more precise when you make such statements.
What do you mean by market fundamentals?
Is it just a diagram for the past 6 months that you saw? Or is it a tecnhical analysis made by one of the market long-livers?
Anyway, what makes you feel that the market will take nothing more nor less than 2 years to recover?
