141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I've learned so far as a gambler on: December 23, 2023, 10:48:40 PM
If you walk into a casino with $200 and you start playing with that $200 and you win $200, get the hell out, you simply just doubled your money, take your goddamn leave, what do you think you wanna do? Win a million dollars? You will go home empty handed.

The next thing that rings in your ear is you can still win another or more, that's the devil whipsering, the art of gambling is knowing when to stop.

The only game where you have some power is in Poker, not the online one, this is the best game in casinos, as making profits off of bad players is possible.

As for Other games, You are at the mercy of the house.

No one actually visits the casino to have fun, you gotta trick the mind, I like to think of it has a fun night out and I am going to spend a few hundred dollars and have a good time and if I win it's a bonus, like I've said, you gotta trick the mind.

Always remember this, you are there to win a game where its statistically impossible to win at, it's not impossible to not understand this about gambling, a wise man once said, "if you want to make money with gambling, own a casino".
The trick when playing in a casino is coming in with friends. Never come in alone. Think of the casino as the accessory to your enjoyment and less about the reason why you wanna enjoy in the first place. If you do so otherwise you'll easily fall victim to the antics that most brick-and-mortar casinos employ to trick their players. Plus you're more susceptible to spending more than you can afford when with friends they can easily tell you when to stop and when to quit. I myself noticed this as I've been in casinos both alone and with company. 9 times out of ten I find myself spending more than what I initially intended to when I'm alone, while when I'm with friends before we even get to the casino we're already talking about how much we're just going to spend.

Thought I might just add this up to your things that you've known as a gambler since I noticed this one as well and thought I might share it with people in here. It's hard to trick the mind into thinking you're only gambling for fun when all you can think about before you open that door is money. So make it about something else and you're sure to enjoy every single moment of it.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites and current transactions fee on: December 23, 2023, 10:00:38 PM
Too much trouble. You'd literally not only be wasting time but also be wasting the profits you would've accumulated by letting your money sit inside the exchange till the transaction's a little less hefty. Not to mention the dangers that CEXs have posed in the past security-wise to its users. You could fall victim to a targeted scam/hack attack against the CEX itself and if you're not working with a reputable exchange like Binance you're fucked royally cause they'd probably won't pay you back the money that was stolen.

I suggest dealing with in-house currencies instead. Most gambling sites with crypto features have such anyway, and deposit just enough money to jumpstart your bankroll and nothing else. That way you can easily withdraw your money out since casinos have that feature anyway, and then at the same time use that same capability to secure your assets without being charged hefty transaction fees cause you're using an in-house crypto anyway.
143  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone find the spate of online casinos a bit uninspired? on: December 22, 2023, 11:34:55 PM
True. A lot of online casinos nowadays don't even have any polished UI that would've been great to keep customers at least interested and engaged with their product. Oftentimes I find casinos with half-baked features and buttons that don't even show indication that you clicked them or whatever, which is too bad cause it goes to show where their interests are in the grand scheme of things. Instead of actually investing a few thousand dollars in at least polishing some key features and mechanics they end up cutting corners and publishing a product that delivers straight what is on the tin without going the extra mile. And it doesn't help that there are a lot of scam casinos with the same formula of copy pasting the source code from these types of wonky casinos so when a reputable one comes around you don't even know or can't tell from the get-go if they really are trustworthy or not. There should be a level of standard present in modern casinos now cause if this keeps up I don't know if people will bother exploring other casinos besides those that are already established.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: December 22, 2023, 11:10:37 PM
Hey house someone need a few clips here, don't know if a post of this exact nature has been discussed though.

In a situation where the both spouse are gamblers. Husband gambles, wife gambles, how can both of them manage the situation in terms of finance and family affairs especially when children are now involve so that the time both spends on gambling doesn't affect family moments and affairs in general.

Would it help if  one of the couple quit for the other and if that's the case who should quit for who.

I don't think it has been discussed before, if this happens to us this is going to be a hard question for me as my wife always has the last say when it comes to finances  Cheesy but it's better for us to just alternate playing, even if I want my wife to quit we will quarrel about this so why not just play alternately, she will have a whole week playing, and after a week it's my turn to play.
Of course, the money should be allocated so the rule is no additional funds, both of us should be content with the allocation

Lol I can definitely attest to that. Wife always gets the last word on anything. But as the partner I think we also have the responsibility to help her be swayed in the right direction in order for things to be better. in Lida's scenario it seems as though there's a disconnect between taking care of the family and the gambling spree that you guys both have, and it would be a little problematic if one manages to quit while the other is able to keep into their gambling indulgences. I think in this case, both wife and husband should quit gambling religiously for them to have more time to take care of the kids, and of each other. I don't say not to gamble at all, but set a compromise with each other wherein you're not gonna gamble as much anymore for the sake of the family.

Gambling is not gonna be worth anything you're contemplating of dropping for it. It's nothing but a pastime you can partake in if you want to unwind and relax. Keep it that way and you'd not only have a fruitful relationship with your partner, you're sure to have a good life too.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: December 22, 2023, 10:34:18 PM
It could, but it shouldn't. The thing is that if you allow gambling to become a major discussion inside your relationship, you already have a problem going on for you. Gambling shouldn't be a major topic for you and your partner just as with any other pastimes you involve yourself in. You don't make a convoluted topic about crocheting and how it takes up so much of your wife's time that she could've spent on you yeah? So why should you let gambling even be worth the time to talk about?

I say quit gambling if it already came to this point. Gambling's not worth anything you're dropping for it, that's the truth. If you're choosing between your partner and indulging your gambling tendencies you might wanna take a step back cause you're already cooked in the brain and honestly, I'd say you're addicted to gambling already, so make the choice that will make your life for the better and don't let gambling be anything other than a pastime you partake in when you don't have spare pennies lying around and you don't know what to do with it.
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another year is going to end. Bitcoin isn't dead on: December 22, 2023, 10:11:18 PM
One thing that is also depicted in this graph is how every "bitcoin/crypto is dead" coincides with large issues in the industry. 2017 we first experienced one of the worst crashes in the bitcoin network and crypto itself. 2020 was a little surprising since it was one of bitcoin's lowest price points in its history, but that's probably because everyone's so caught up with the global pandemic that people forgot to bother calling bitcoin dead or whatever lol. It quickly caught up on 2021 though, as despite the fact that it was when bitcoin experienced its 60k ATH price people were still so quick to say that bitcoin is dead.

People who think crypto is dead will continue to think that it is dead regardless of the true market situation that bitcoin is in, if people aren't able to enjoy the bounce in crypto valuation they'd automatically think that it was right they didn't invest on a dying industry. That is until FOMO comes up and they actually start losing money from investing on a cyclical investment venture about to be done with its cycle.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 21, 2023, 11:48:05 PM
I say it's true. Gambling is pretty much the last resort of anyone I know who haven't been able to see people or touch grass in a while, especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Boredom will be the reason why people will look out for ways to have fun and to maybe entertain themselves for a bit before they get back to the real world, and when they can't find a good way to do so they resort to gambling cause out of all things, it's the most accessible one and to top it all off, you don't have to do it with your friends to be invested in it too.

Now as time passes by and you become even more engorged into the gambling world you probably have already accumulated losses enough to make a man cry, but since no one's really out there to look out for your ass you're going to be in a deeper mire than you were in initially, and that is why people become addicted. They get bored, they can't find company, they lose themselves to gambling because they kept chasing wins which will never come, and they become addicted to it.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: December 21, 2023, 11:23:17 PM
I’m a new member here, and I want to gamble on online casinos. I found some good trusted casinos. And I want to begin with a game with a low budget. First, I need your suggestions about the best games, slots. Live casino for a beginner.
Do you think Me starting gambling would effect me in my real life or make me addicted to gambling. What’s you suggestion and advices.
First off, tread carefully, as this is your first few steps in the gambling world. Good to know that you already found great casinos to trust, but I would really suggest sticking to those with reputation, and at the same time ones that provide free spins or whatever since you're about to start gambling on a measly budget. I couldn't give you any sites per se, but sites with welcome offers and those who give you deposit bonus should be the ones to look out for. Moving on, let's first set your expectations, you wouldn't win in gambling, eventually everything that you gambled hard for will be taken away by the casino cause the system is rigged against the player. But the takeaway in this is gambling for entertainment, not for profit. It's way easier to accept losses and move on when you had fun while gambling. It's way harder to manage it when you're gambling with the mindset coming from a place of loss. And frankly speaking, this is where most gamblers fail with them ending up a gambling addict in the process. So yeah, be careful, don't chase wins or losses, have fun as much as possible and learn how to manage your bankroll as much as possible.
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 21, 2023, 10:53:24 PM
It's quite possible for people to have recurring gambling problems especially if they kept at it despite the fact that you should quit it cold turkey. I myself have been addicted to gambling in the past, it took quite a lot of discipline to finally get rid of it and now, I only ever gamble occasionally, and if in any case I find myself gambling more, I make sure that I quit. I even employed gambling strats to make sure that I don't end up on a loss or a negative that much. Part of the reason why people go back to becoming addicts after being able to control it is because they fail to instill discipline upon themselves. Control is good but you need to do it consistently and truthfully, otherwise you're just wasting your time and your effort. Discipline is needed if you want to stay clean towards your gambling journey.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard Rock to Hire 400 People Ahead of Rockford Casino Opening on: December 21, 2023, 10:25:14 PM
Aren't they a cafe? Sorry I'm a troglodyte who don't know shit about them besides T-shirts and for a while I thought they are more of a musician's cafe where you get to dine and listen to some awesome tunes, maybe buy nice vinyls as well. Didn't know that they are a casino as well lol. Or perhaps you're talking about a hard rock cafe opening up near a casino, which could be the case cause it's rare for established businesses to reinvent the wheel and offer something they don't initially provide to their users.

Anywho, I see this as an absolute win for employment. It's kinda hard to get by nowadays with people having to get two or three more jobs for them to have a passable income and a means to save and invest money, opportunities like this which doesn't stray far from what we're more inclined to do is welcome and is definitely appreciated. So props to you my friend for letting us know about this awesome job opening. Would be even better if this is work from home but hey, no complaints.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Spending more or less money on Casino this Holiday season on: December 21, 2023, 09:52:20 PM
I've got my holiday affairs in order now and I would not be in the negative even if I go a little more on gambling this week and the next, so I'm definitely filling up the bankroll with a little more moolah than usual and splurge it on gambling before the year ends. I got few people to celebrate it with besides family anyway so I'm expecting myself to remain inside the house until the end of the year, and since I don't got any other things to take care of at this point I'm pretty much just gonna take this time to relax and unwind, which wouldn't be wise nowadays cause from where I live, everyone's so busy and frantic to make it to christmas with gifts and all that so there's more traffic and more people inside malls. I'd rather stay home than be like them and inconvenience myself.

To some though since it's not like everyone's got enough money to splurge they may spend less on gambling this year, some just doesn't see the point in wasting even more money on one of the most expensive holidays and that's okay too I guess. It's all about making sure that you don't go over what you can't afford anyway.

154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally I did it (I am happy to join). on: December 20, 2023, 11:54:44 PM
Congratulations on your first bitcoin purchase. If you keep at it, you're definitely going to be in for the great things that crypto is able to offer people. What I could suggest now that you're able to start off your crypto journey, you might wanna work on the consistency part of the spectrum. It's good enough that you're able to invest that good amount of bitcoin this early in your journey, but what would make this situation even better is if you're able to invest crypto on a consistent manner, your investment will eventually accumulate and along with the profits, you're looking at a self-sustaining passive income stream that would support you when things go well and would help you out to survive when things are in the red.

I know for some this might not be possible given their financial circumstances but I say that if you're able to spend as much as 10 dollars on a netflix subscription or whatever the fuck you're sinking your hours in and money today, you would be able to spare at least 10 dollars to secure your financial future.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SATOSHI IS BACK with satoshi@vistomail.com BUT ITS SCAM on: December 20, 2023, 11:27:49 PM
blatant scam if I ever saw one on the internet. Lots of red flags that are easy to see even if you've barely scratched the surface of bitcoin information with one thing being the fact that Satoshi Nakamoto couldn't and wouldn't even show up for his own coin, so why the fuck would he advertise something as scummy as OTOM? If you know how he worked in the past and what he stood for you pretty much wouldn't fall for this shit, but I could se a lot of people falling for the scam just cause they're dragging Satoshi Nakamoto's name in the tin like what they always do in the past.

I suggest that newbies have some level of skepticism with them before they make a purchase or a stake on something, even bitcoin at this point. There's nothign wrong with being very curious to know the deeper implications of everything as it is your money after all, be wary and have a vigilant attitude if you don't want to fall victims to scams.
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Whole Concept of Bitcoin is Failing! on: December 20, 2023, 10:56:42 PM
Bro, we've been dealing with transaction fee problems since time immemorial, I don't think there's anything that's so different between 2021 and now. And I'm not saying it is not a problem cause it is, and it's already taking a massive toll upon the whole situation of bitcoin as we know it and would even cause bigger problems in the future but to tell you the truth, transaction fees and wait times are only a symptom of this larger problem that has been in discussion for over a decade now. Scalability.

Bitcoin is supposed to be scalable, at least in its model but because of the upsurge of users from over the years, not to mention the countless attempts at reinventing the wheel and hoping to bring new reason to invest in bitcoin apart from "it's very profitable", network congestion has been a problem for over a decade now. Now to me, that is a more important problem to find a solution for cause that will solve all problems that bitcoin have and will have.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anything to worry about if you use mixers and not doing anything illegal? on: December 20, 2023, 10:14:33 PM
Anything to worry about if you use mixers and not doing anything illegal?
Will any one come knocking on your door if you use mixers and not doing anything illegal?
Will posts like this be banned too after Jan?
Will using mixers be an expensive?

I don't think you should concern yourself if you're working with reputable mixers anyway. The ones that get flagged and banned by Central Exchanges are those found to be working or used to facilitate illegal operations. Sinbad was one of them and if I'm not mistaken prior to them being banned by the US government they also received some flags from certain exchanges as well. Using mixers wouldn't really subject you to any criminal liability unless you're found to be one of those that used it to steal money from users to which you'll of course be receiving some lawsuits and a possible arrest, but if you're just an average joe concerned about the safety of your funds so you used a mixer to protect your identity against these hackers then you shouldn't worry about it. Just as I said earlier, make sure you work with a reputable and trusted mixer, and you're good to go. The ban on mixers in this forum if it concerns you is just to avoid further issues with these guys. The thing has spiraled out of control after chipmixer and sinbad got seized that the forum couldn't afford to just sit back and wait until they get the blame.

159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin as digital currency on: December 19, 2023, 11:46:59 PM
No government should prohibit the ownership of this technology

. I mean this is freedom money just like national value is freedom and bitcoin
Is the word dream money.

Someone very wise say if you're born poor you die poor and I quote

But with bitcoin if you're born poor and get education and you work hard you
Can be any thing you want.

But the way we can achieve more of the dream is  when bitcoin freedom is
Intact and when are able to save bitcoin for our future and our family.thats what bitcoin is all about.

Let me just correct you, there's no such quote as "Born Poor, Die Poor", The quote you're probably referring to goes "If you're born poor, that's not your fault, dying poor is". Which still sits well in the grand scheme of things bitcoin included. Bitcoin is the very technology that you can utilize to enjoy a more comfortable life. And I get it, I was one of the lucky few who banked on the bitcoin dream earlier than many of you guys here, reaped the benefits and learned from mistakes. But just because it's this great doesn't mean that governments who ban bitcoin are just selfish pricks that don't want their citizens to become wealthy, there is much concern revolving around bitcoin and crypto that it makes sense for some countries to ban its use.

For instance, we got the anonymity that can be used by hackers and scammers to fool people without getting caught, the fact that it can be used as a money laundering machine by corrupt people and officials, among other issues that leave some countries with no choice but to stop it from being used.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You will burn on: December 19, 2023, 10:45:25 PM
Bitcoin's market doesn't depend upon the industry, but the industry depends upon bitcoin. That's just one truth about the cryptocurrency world. But one thing you made a mistake with is compare bitcoin to altcoins as if altcoins can even hold a candle against bitcoin. While it sure has its perks and altcoins have become a definitive inclusion in the crypto industry. Marketcap-speaking bitcoin still remains to be the linchpin that holds everything together in the crypto world.

As for shitcoins and memecoins, I don't really relate them to bitcoin's price as they have their very own market that caters not towards utility or whatever but solely for profit and hype. After $PEPE there's not much to talk about the memecoin industry anymore, so of course it's gonna fall in price. But that's not something to be sad or boastful about, it's the basic truth in this industry.
