Don't know if it's been mentioned before but your 2H candlestick size uses uneven hours.
Not a big deal, but I would like it to be even hours!

Bitcoin Wisdom can I get a reply on the 2 hour candle issue?
I would just like to know if you are interested in fixing it.
I cannot find any advantage for even hours, so it won't be changed.

How about it makes more sense? And it impacts candlesticks, therefor impacts all your indicators.
I'd strongly suggest you provide an option where people can chose uneven or even hours.
It's system limit. server only can return UTC data. and display in local time.

Oh yes I see, I'm sorry. Every local time will have either even or uneven candles.
Indeed impossible to fix unless you calculate the candles client-side, but that would kinda suck Smiley.

Hi pro-trader,

you seem to be ignoring the great post of Loozik.
This might very well be EU regulation that is screwing you over.

Fiat is an altcoin with a bad mining algorithm!

how could "random" ever be bad?   Smiley

While reddit is panicking about a potential 51% Attack by GHASH... No-one notices that fiat is under a permanent 100% attack!

Who's from Belgium here?

I'm trying to remember. It came up in a beer discussion a while back.

The Belgian was pimping his own country's brews and dissing everybody else's, especially Heineken.

I have to say that I think in this case the Belgian is correct!  Wink

A bit ironic for me though as I live in Belgium but don't drink.

They put a lot of effort into their beer here. I think that around the world there are only 7 genuine monastic beer distilleries - and 6 of them are in Belgium. It's part of a religion to them!

It was me! And actually I said there are plenty of good beers in other countries, but comon, there's no way you can defend Heineken :-D. Oh and I'm not a lover of Pils in the first place.

Oh, I remember that one...

I took the position that Belgian beer is akin to raw sewage (with more malty overtones, perhaps).

However, in the meantime I had to revise my position a bit... as part of an accident that I don't want to talk about, I recently ingested a moderately large amount of raw sewage.

That was the exact moment when I realized the grave injustice I did to raw sewage by comparing it to Belgian beer earlier.

Cheesy

Hahaha, I remember the discussion I had with you ! You never seize to amuse me! I thought I recognised your name in the Bitstamp thread.

Well played sir!

Is there any advantage for me to move from Havelock to Direct shares?
What is the benefit for me?

Now that I use your -l K8x32,K8x32 it performs a bit cooler AND faster:

511 KH/s, Core one on 84 and Core two on 85 degrees. Still a bit hot too my taste for every day use.

I have the card on a regular desktop case tho. My final settings are:
cudaminer.exe -H 1 -C 2 -t 1 -i 1 -l K8x32,K8x32

Any other suggestions? Also this is with interactive on, but I notice my pc becomes very laggy.

Not yet.  I'm finally managing to reproduce your thermal overload problem on my own setup with 2x GTX690s:

| 82%   90C  N/A     N/A /  N/A |   1087MiB /  2047MiB |     N/A      Default |
| 57%   78C  N/A     N/A /  N/A |   1087MiB /  2047MiB |     N/A      Default |
| 57%   79C  N/A     N/A /  N/A |   1087MiB /  2047MiB |     N/A      Default |
| 54%   75C  N/A     N/A /  N/A |   1087MiB /  2047MiB |     N/A      Default |

Toasty.  That 90C isn't good unless planning on making tea on your computer.

My kernel is going to make your display laggy even in interactive mode, unfortunately.  The only thing I can think of to try to reduce both power and lagginess without changing the code is to try -l K2x32,K2x32 or something similar.  Have you given that a shot?  It should reduce the duration of time that the kernel runs and increase the relative amount of time interactive mode spends telling the GPU to not do mining.  Could you let me know how that works?

I'm tied up for a while, but I'll see if now that I have my 690 running I can figure out any efficiency gains for it.  Don't hold your breath, though:  The 690 is pretty similar to the Grid K2 that I was optimizing for before.  I think there are gains to be had for GF110 devices, but maybe not GF104.

  -Dave

I wouldn't dare be disappointed, your help is much appreciated! I'm just trying to find out if it would be possible for me to mine with my 690.
The setting you provided indeed helped a lot with my display lag (Performance dropped to 419 Kh/s, but I don't mind that), unfortunately temps climb to 90 after 2 minutes or so, so still no-go :-).

I guess I'm out of luck (unless you find something). Thanks a lot for having a look!

Hi Dave, Just wanted to check if you had any news on this?
152  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: January 06, 2014, 09:10:12 AM
I completely agree with you! Still I think we can both agree, customer support is lacking.
I'm just very frustrated as I'm stuck between two rocks, my ISP refuses to help me and Bitstamp is ignoring me.

Just to keep everyone informed: Bitstamp has gotten back to me and resolved the issue.
153  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: January 05, 2014, 05:17:57 PM
I would avoid Bitstamp, support is non-existing, they just cost me 4 BTC...

Care to explain the details?

Also, which alternative do you suggest? Certainly not mtgox or btc-e, right? And as much as I like bitfinex, they can't handle bigger volume right now :/

Anyway, my experience with bitstamp hasn't always been ideal, but their support always answered within reasonable time in my experience...

I'm a software developer that depends on API calls to bitstamp, unfortunately a glitch in my code caused me to go over the request threshold and they banned my home IP.
Unfortunately for me it's practically impossible to get a new IP adres with my ISP. I have fixed the glitch in my code and I have a support ticket open to unban me again for over 7 days and I still have no response.

This has left me unable to trade (manually) from my home network for 7+ days, this is completely unacceptable imho even though it was my fault initially.

I understand they block spammy IP adresses to prevent ddosses but it shouldn't be a permanent ban on the first infraction, a much better system would be:

First Time -> 1 Day Ban
Second Time -> 2 Day Ban
Third Time -> 3 Day Ban
Fourth Time -> Permanent Ban

Also I have no other suggestions, all alternatives are equally horrible.

I see.

Yes, I agree, they should handle it "lenient", plus they're active on here, so they can see you're a respected member of the community.

Still, your case is a bit of a special case -- you're making heavy use of the API, and you "lost" money more than really losing it, no? Don't get me wrong, I'm with you that they should unban your IP, but it's a bit harsh to put "they don't unban my IP fast enough" in the same category as "withdrawal backlog reaching as far back as July", just to name an example...

they are asking me for an international passport for KYC purposes. what if i don't have one yet? can i send any alternatives? i can send 2 government IDs and 2 Utility bills as proof of address. I just paid one of the bills recently so i can send a scanned copy of the receipt as well.

If you are an American you can also send your social security number.

Hi Hazek,

I have a ticket open for OVER 6 days without response, is that normal?
You basically denied my home network access from the website due to a glitch I had that spammed the API (Accidentally).
157  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: January 03, 2014, 02:00:48 PM
Bitstamp blocked my IP for accidently spamming their API due to an error in my code.
Their block doesn't seem to lift itself after a period of time. Anyone know if they'll be working tomorrow?

Is Bitstamp support working? Ticket has been open for days and still no reply... I'm unable to trade anymore...
