So basically this is going to be a toy for a couple of big miners?

145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 16, 2013, 02:34:57 AM
The guy is a financist. He probably heard somewhere that “the masses are coming to alt coins soon” and decided that he can get ahead of the train by creating a scamcoin as soon as possible. He started to look for original ideas but could not come with anything better than “a miner’s coin”, then he even did not want to use his brain to think for a while and made a flawed design due to misundertstanding of probability, how do you like that? And lastly, he found some “programmer” who decided to cheat on the noob and did not bother to write the code well. Haste makes waste, so they say.

Halfwit, I am the only economist who has been saying for the last 3 months the masses are coming to crypto-coins.  I'm the only economist who has said from day one Bitcoin will get its ETF license and then within months the media would spin shit into gold taking bitcoin and all alt coins into mainstream.

So of course I'm gonna try to get ahead of the curve.  It's not my fault the "programmers" here are not really programmers.  I had no idea.  If I had known I would have gone to PSU and paid some grad student $20 per hour to program what I needed.

Lesson learned - my idea and the features I anted were "too ambitious" for your best programmers.  I had more features I wanted to add but the skills were simply not there.

So don't blame me for bringing something new, a new perspective and a new type of coin, blame the misrepresentation of your local programmers who obviously can't program and I had no way of knowing that until it was too late.

Go read some of my papers from 3 months ago on devtome and see I've been the loudest and most accurate about what's coming to alt coins.

And as such I have been accumulating with actual dollars not mined coins devcoins and ixCoins as those two have the biggest probability of being bitcoins 2.0.  I'm not gonna go into details here now as to why that's true but be sure I'm no talking head and i saw alt coins for that they are before any talking head ever did and in fact they're all still laughing at you guys.

Wait until the bitcoin ETF takes off, then you'll see crypto-madness which is why I wanted to launch my own coin - I simply don't have enough cash to accumulate as many coins as I would like, but if one can launch a successful alt coin then that's a different story.  This is a 2-3 year project for me and not some quick pump and dump.

90% of the people here have no idea what's going in the big picture or what's coming by the latest next year.

Keep laughing but when it comes it will be too late to act and seeing how you guys know nothing about investments you'll sell out the second you see $100,000 in your account, thinking that's real money.

The wave and whirlwind that's coming being pushed and propagated by the media, banks and the state will make the dot com boom look like the 70's housing market.  Common joes on these boards can make million if they understand what's happening when the madness starts which should be just months after the ETF license.

OMFG this is it, I've really tried to stay off of your threads.

You are a nutbag, and your own worst enemy.

The only one, indeed. Seriously it's a miracle that BTC ever made it to $2/coin without you right?

When you shut your fucking mouth, catch up on some crypto-currency basics and maybe adjust your attitude to reflect even the merest hint of decency (much less a hint of professionalism, or even adulthood), you might be able to create a new account and start getting productively involved.

Because the name Vlad2Vlad is irreparably damaged.

You're talking two kinds of trash out of both sides of your mouth and pretty soon no one is going to listen to you at all.  You think you're having this great struggle to convince everyone of your genius, but you're so ignorant most of the alt coin forum here is just poking you to see what color you'll shit yourself next.

Dude you got here three months ago.  Not for nothing but you are the ignorant masses and you're already here.

Keep talking shit about everyone that tries to help you. Based on your incredible narcissism and complete inability to take input from those around you, I suspect your final public blowup is going to be incredible.

I'm popping popcorn.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Doubloons: Perpetual Issue Currency [7/15 - Thanks CoinChoose!] on: July 16, 2013, 02:17:50 AM
i thought about a coin without diff changing.
why cant we create a coin with diff x and let it run?
the prize and the market will react, not the coin.

Nobody wants a coin with no target block time, no way to predict transaction speed, and no way to know how fast coins will be minted.

I agree, the market will react.  I suspect very negatively. Just IMO.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New alts how about clear complete mining instructions on: July 16, 2013, 01:50:37 AM
... and it changes from coin to coin.

Unless you are talking about one of a very few blockchains, you can mine them all with the exact same scrypt/sha256 miners.

With a very few exceptions (4 or 5 I think at this time), every satoshi-based wallet sets up and solo mines with an external miner the exact same way. And those exceptions only mean you need a different miner, it's usually set up using the same normal settings.

Some of them have wallet mining and some don't.  The ones that wallet mine all work exactly the same way.

P2Pool mining is exactly the same for every coin.

 Huh

B) vladvlad apologizes, grows a thick skin and repairs his public image allowing the coin to have a future.

...That's crazy...
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Giveaway - 1,000,000 Infinitecoins (IFC) for newcomers! on: July 14, 2013, 08:05:13 PM
Wait a minute. I am NOT affiliated with the official webpage or the creation of this coin. I'm merely an early bird.

That's all fine.  Asking repeatedly for trust in a no-trust-required situation is a big sign of a scammer.

If you're not a scammer, stop asking for it. It looks shady and will have the opposite effect you're looking for.

It's also pretty funny to see the dumps of exactly 1m since this thread was opened, so far 3 on cryptsy.

Thanks bud, great promotion!

Edit, have given you your trust feedback (first person I ever did that for)...

Selling trust ratings for  a few pennies of IFC is not cool.

Happy to have some coins and check out his website but I won't be helping set him up with cheap false trust for scams.

153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 12, 2013, 02:00:08 AM

Let's just say, you have no idea how critical time to market now is. I could wait a couple more months so to have a more 'perfect' thing for you, but then what's the impact to the overall competitive landscape? You can feel cozy in your conspiracy theory about me, whatever you like. But at least get the facts straight. The most improvement in the stock miner was from me yesterday actually. My post earlier was to warn the contributors of the danger messing with core protocol code without going through development process. Ask any competent crypto developer about whether what I said was true. I did not mean to diminish their enthusiasm to contribute and help, on the contrary I appreciate their participation.

You're clearly an incredible genious, I doubt that anyone was going to come out with a more impressive POW than this in the near future, but I certainly don't move in your circles.

I don't have an agenda I was a little shocked at that thought. Mining 100+ primecoins nearly doubled my "crypto-worth", I can't afford an agenda yet.

Anyways whatever and It's become clear to me that I'm gnawing at this in a silly, forum-drama, over invested fashion. It doesn't change my desire to analyze your various and unclear motives here in what seems from my largely removed perspective to be, well, a perplexing strategy.

And I have no doubt the guy that seriously forks miner's efforts towards primecoin in a forum-distributed build is going to be the subject of a new level of witch hunt.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 12, 2013, 01:38:07 AM
When did I say I would stop primecoin development? Go back to the prerelease annoucement, I specifically said both ppcoin and primecoin would have dedicated long term support.

Yes primecoin is part of my long term strategy to compete better, since when is having a strategy a bad thing? So please don't listen to someone who'd like to twist my words to suit his own agenda.

I don't have any agenda towards you or your coins.

I have an odd mixture of appreciation for your work, and being appalled by the entire presentation and follow through.

It's clear you've done this far more casually than most people could. When I read the original announcements, I was enthused. I read that at ppcoin forums the day you posted it becuase I was looking for more information about primecoin and it's work. I waited eagerly for the release, and I've mined the coin on several boxes along with my other activities.  I mean thanks for helping me pay my bills.

Just sort of tossing an unfinished product out there and practically walking away from it is pretty shocking. The sort of "figure out yourself" attitude was surprising, for someone pushing out a change like this.  To come out and bitch at the people trying to sort it out, after all that, is really just the cherry on top.

Looks more and more shady.  Like the market ploy is more important, to you, than the innovation you've chosen to push it.  Of course it's good to have a strategy.  Whether it's a good strategy or not is another issue, and who it's good for is a third.

So, I'm fascinated with it and sharing my thoughts to receive feedback and other inputs. There are a great many man-hours being spent refining your work.  If you're not going to help, you could at least avoid complaining about the direction of the efforts.

Now everybody stop fucking with your CPUs (and the wallet) and get on that GPU miner so sunny can have his threat to Litecoin!

Or am I somehow missing the whole point?
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 12, 2013, 12:22:42 AM
Let's start a STOP PICKING ON SUNNY D Campaign!!  No one's perfect!

Don't print any signs for your campaign until you figure out his name.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 12, 2013, 12:22:01 AM

Ok, that was indeed an interesting link with regard to Sunny's ultimate intent (eg, proving the long-term superiority of ppcoin). That said, I think he legitimately considers primecoin innovative and interesting....because it really is. It has more merit than every other coin except bitcoin, namecoin, and ppcoin. The fact that he considers ppcoin to be the primary focus should be neither surprising nor disturbing. It *is* the most long-term energy efficient, and that's been his stated goal/focus for quite a while.

I agree this is huge.

Nothing is happening with PPcoin any time soon, as he states there in that thread PPCoin is in maintenance mode and will be for a long time.

His contribution to "science" is unquestionable here.  His response to the community that is pushing him into the limelight is pretty surprising.

There's a fairly obvious conclusion, in light of the aforementioned links.

Seems sort of sketchy. Not too far fetched that he of course has a VERY optimized build mining for himself since start and does not like people 'catching up' in efficiency. Shady or just lazy... who knows
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 12, 2013, 12:08:30 AM
I went in GitHub an hour ago and the only work he has done for this coins since release is to accept some GUI updates and string replacements that SOMEONE ELSE did for him.
Actually he did some optimizations after the release.
And as one of the contributors of the GUI updates - it wasn't easy to spot, I'm sure most people would not even notice it. Also you would think these parts of the GUI would be automatically changed but they were hardcoded.

I'm not sure how it would fragment the PoW community unless there is a GPU miner (and it does not seem to be the best PoW for it), as the others CPU-only coins are really minor. The billions of scrypt coins are certainly more efficient at fragmentation.

First of all what do you mean "hard to spot".  Ahhh, I don't want to come off like a total dick but, when was search and replace first implemented, the 1960's?

As to the rest of it, feel free to click the link and read his explanation, it's very good. No coin has pulled this much time and attention since I don't even know what. Certainly since I started learning about cryptocurrency.

158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 11, 2013, 11:54:58 PM

Well now. I was just concerned with being respectful to the guy who put the most work into this coin, but if what you say is true then it appears we are all fools for even hoping something special could come out of this... I will reserve judgement until I have more evidence.

https://github.com/primecoin/primecoin

http://www.ppcointalk.org/index.php?topic=288.msg1557#msg1557

I'll provide at least some evidence that I am not making this up.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC high coins per block! V1.2 Released! Please Upgrade on: July 11, 2013, 11:51:50 PM

you're holding over 4b IFC?

yes, but may i stress that I don't move things on markets, I hold then move blocks of 100m to investors at price points, off market, so as not to move price. Unlike miners who just dump it for nothing

As long as people know there are holders of this magnitude the currency will not be allowed to rise in price, and miners will pay for their electricity as best they can.

Another few days, another halving of the block reward.  It might be enough for miners to still dump at .00000001.

In that time it needs to get into many hands, or people who are smart enough not to say this.

When miners cannot pay bills at .00000001, or when cryptsy dumps IFC to secondary markets - we will see.  If it is in too few hands, it will fail. Two more halvings, I estimate.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RIPPLE IS A SHIT !! XRP IS SHITTY !! on: July 11, 2013, 11:45:24 PM

XRP is 100% pre-mined and all is under control of OpenCoin. Isn't it ?

People like to say this.  But really mining is not part of ripple. XRP are not meant to be coins, they are wrappers or, as mah87 so nicely put it, they are like stamps.

So, in effect this is like complaining that the post office pre-mined all the stamps.

XRP are tools for tracing transactions in a block-chain like ledger. They own the ledger, they're going to support the server infrastructure to make it available, and they're selling the "stamps" that allow people to send "packages" through their system.

What that has become twisted into by the crazies around here, well that's something else.
If XRP isn't a decentralized cryptocurrency, why is it pushed around here so much?

The ledger system is based on crypto-currency, and they pushed it hard to bitcoiners as early adopters because it is the best thing going right now to merge the crypto markets with the fiat markets...

I suspect that most of the people who are SOOOO against it haven't spent 5 minutes trying to understand it, they're just trying to hop on the "cool" train and parrot a bunch of misinformation (FUD) spread around by people who want to discourage and confuse potential early adopters.
