1401  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero Project - Third Party HF Mining Board on: May 25, 2014, 06:06:31 PM
I have 3 stable, 1 old AMC and 2 new ones.
CPU is at full load, but only clocked to the mild overclock (i think 600, no overvolting)
I havenīt got any original HF boards, but i thought firmware was similar?

You can clock your rPi to ~800 with a bit of overvolting, so it shouldnīt be a problem for 5.

Alternatively you could buy a bananaPi with around 4 times the cpu and 1 GB memory for 60$. OS should be compatible, havenīt tried though.
1402  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero Project - Third Party HF Mining Board on: May 25, 2014, 05:46:30 PM
On the RasPi note .... any idea how many Habanero's a single RasPi can support before one exceeds the RasPi's ability to keep up?  On another note I've found the most recent HF RasPi MinePeon image quite stable.  Does anyone know if that same image will play nice with the Habanero cards?

H@shKraker
5-10 devices easily.
Just buy as many as you want to and get a second pi if it isnīt enough.

With more than 10 devices in one room, cooling should be a bigger problem than buying a second Pi.

If you build a bigger rig with these, custom water cooling might be a good solution.
1403  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 4, Price changes daily, now 2309 USD for 1TH/s on: May 25, 2014, 05:06:50 PM
Looks like I will never buy a S2 if Bitmain keeps raising prices. I don't play these games.
The price is coming down.  4.033 BTC today, 4.277 BTC yesterday.  Looks like it's coming down to me.
True XD

You canīt really expect dollar price to go down when btc is regaining some value.

They are definately more reliable than any US-based Bitcoin mining manufacturer.

The hardware provided is delivered on-time and spec.

Every bitcoin miner manufacturer was fabulous when they first started. All of them. Soon as they all go rich, loads of money in their pocket change into what KNC is now. I can't say it will happen with Spoondoolies, but that's the basic trend and it is very obvious. I "hope" it doesn't happen to Spoondoolies, they seem like a great bunch of people, but so did everyone else when they started up.
Good Luck!
Not really, hashfast was massively delayed and missed power consumption goals. (probably going bankrupt)

Even Cointerra didnīt manage to ship on time in the first batches, and units still arenīt on spec, so no, i dont know of any US-based manufacturer who was

fabulous when they first started

And donīt get me started on BFL.

Correct me if i made a mistake, though.
1405  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Custom Built Mining Shed on: May 25, 2014, 04:40:08 PM
So your power cost including delivery is around 10ct? is that correct?

also, cooling typically adds around 30% more power consumption when running at full load, so it isnīt that much more power cost.

It is a necessity in most parts of the US anyway.

From my experience, antminers arenīt that sensitive to a higher intake temperature of say 30°C.

I think as BTC keeps recovering again, prices staying around the same seems fair to me....

We should be selling fast through the rest of the IPO shares when deployment starts tomorrow.

However, i hope we will be able to deploy even more because of the BTC price rise, and hardware contracts are usually fixed in $.

What is the exact VA of the SP10 in terms of North American data center hosting?
That depends on which setting you will use, but it shoudlnīt be above 1350W.
1410  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio - Shipping from stock on: May 24, 2014, 05:31:21 PM
Having problems with shipping is nothing spondoolies can change, you would have to take that up with the shipping company.

As far as i know they chose the freight company in the best interest of the customer.
1411  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio - Shipping from stock on: May 24, 2014, 04:25:35 PM
Yes, that is the quote i got just this morning. However, i told them i would deploy multiple kW, i donīt know how many ants you have with them.

The way you are describing it is, they need you to pay VAT but you will get reimbursed after 2 months?
So basically you donīt pay VAT? Just give a two-month interest-free loan?

Is the 10 percent extra in fan speed noticeable?
Yes, at high temperatures. It results in around 20-30 more GH at the same temp.
1413  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio - Shipping from stock on: May 24, 2014, 02:27:20 PM
Sorry about the uneducated question:

Some DCs quote price per kWh, others quote per amp for a 220v circuit.
What is the correct and realistic conversion between the two? I'm assuming that volts*amps = kWh is missing some efficiency factors?

http://www.supercircuits.com/resources/tools/volts-watts-amps-converter
kVolt * Amps is kW
kW * 720 = kWh per month

so 1 Amp @ 220V =0,22kV*1A =0,22kVA = 0,22 kW
0,22kW *720h/m = 158,4 kWh/m

Stumbled upon a company called HashPlex quoted in an Ars Technica article. Seems they could be a nice addition to this thread!

URL: https://hashplex.com/
Price: USD$99/mth per 1kW, $89/mth per 30kW, Quote for 500kW+
Location: Various - Washington, US
Thread: N/A
Feedback: TBC
They are good but currently sold out.

Pre-payment for 1 year is required, but itīs all-inclusive.

However, as they have a free-air cooled facility in WA, i dont know how good they will be for highest density e.g. sp30 / sp10 come summer.

It is at high ambient air temperature (intake 36°C).

The performance of his units is limited by the cooling capacity.

We have a special facility for Bitcoin miners. Its a Tier 1 facility with no ups or diesel backup and we use direct air cooling with PUE of around 1,15.
Density per rack is 15-20kW depending on the design of the miners.

The price is 90 EUR per kW all inclusive, power, cooling and internet.

Seems quite nice for some sp10s.
When i first heard about 90€/kW i thought it would be power cost only, not including space. However, this is an all-inclusive solution.

Also, this is 100% renewable, geothermal power.

In Reykjavik, summer lies between June and August with a peak of 13 degrees Celsius which is mild.

How did you come up with 3029Ghs?

was probably just added up the figures at the time of posting. Let just call it slightly above 3TH. The numbers do fluctuate.

Will take screen shot of web UI and post Smiley

Cheers,
QG

Can I just ask why you are selling them on ebay?
You are not happy with them or?

haha, that's just QG... he has his own warehouse (!) filled with rigging, i expect he's most likely not got any spare circuitry in his house to draw the leccy!
Nobody can use the stove or washingmachine, my miners have to stay on XD

I have 8 s2 coupons

drop me a pm with your offer (also selling individually) and i am sure we will figure something out.

AM 40nm offer only ~0,7W/GH at chip level, when clocking slowly.
