1401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 22, 2023, 08:39:36 PM
Inoue easily won against Paul Butler, conquering all opponents in the Bantamweight division, Inoue decided to increase the weight class. His opponent in the new Super Bantamweight class is most likely Fulton .
Fulton holds two world championship belts, WBO and WBC, is the world No. 1 boxer in this weight class. Against Fulton, Inoue will surely face the biggest and most difficult test ever.
I look forward to having a confrontation as soon as possible .

Not most likely because Stephen Fulton is indeed Inoue's first assignment in his transfer at 122, hence why we have a separate thread about Inoue vs Fulton.
Read here: https://www.espn.ph/boxing/story/_/id/35474707/naoya-inoue-stephen-fulton-agree-122-pound-title-bout
The thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5436075.0

And about Inoue's recent fight with Butler, it's almost guaranteed the Inoue will unify all the belts and become the undisputed champion even before their fight commenced because it's too plain to see that Butler doesn't have what it takes to defeat a champion caliber especially if we are talking about him facing the Monster of Japan, the man won't surely be touted as such if he's not really that kind of boxer.
1402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how do I keep my private key safe? on: February 22, 2023, 07:40:06 PM
I have wondered for long, if there is  anyway to recover my private keys when they get lost or when I don't remember them. Someone advised me to use Gmail and store them as mails then I taught again, what if my Gmail gets hacked. Is this actually the best way to store them or is there any other ways I can store or Keep them safe?

These situations can be solved easily mate, you don't have to ask about it nor get some advice (although it's indeed advisable especially if you're new) as almost everything right now can be looked up on the web. Just do a simple search on Google on how to store your keys safely and voilà, problem solved!
Surely, storing them in the Gmail in the form of an email isn't the smartest thing to do with your keys as everything online is considered not safe. Making a hardcopy about your keys may do the trick and store them in a safe place where only you knows about it.

I think another Los Angeles team getting WB is already a slap for the Lakers, much more they are more of a contender that them.

But the problem is that Clippers is already loaded with talents, and it's funny to think that WB's once team, Reggie Jackson on OKC was once a Clipper and now he will replace him in somewhat in that position.

Not sure how he can spread the floor though, WB is know for his passing ability and not his outside shot.
More of a slap I guess, but it might be a win-win situation for both LA teams.
The Lakers got rid of the player who technically ruined the whole roster because of how many players the Lakers traded just to get him and on the other hand, the Clippers got a facilitator, an athletic guard who can be a good point guard still.

Yes, it is indeed a win-win case for both LA teams because the Lakers somehow got their team messed up when they acquired broody straight from Wizards with high salary only to see and have a WB shooting bricks at his first season wearing the purple-and-gold jersey. While the Clippers somehow got their selves some good additional because WB was once again showing signs positive signs, although, let's just accept that the OKC WB is now long gone.
1404  Economy / Economics / Re: Are people really having the wrong concept of savings? on: February 20, 2023, 08:27:15 PM
I assume savings as a competent distribution of their funds, buying the necessary things without unnecessary squandering, but also without depriving yourself of much. In itself, saving for the sake of the economy means little, there must be a purpose for which the money will be spent in the future, or this deferred money can serve as a means of insurance in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Saving means taking out of your extra money that is intended to use for future means. It can be for future project that you dream of making it possible, or simply just to have emergency funds that will cover your unforeseen expenses or any unexpected events that will suddenly arise. So there are different reasons actually why people save, but one thing that is certain is that people save because they don’t want to experience financial struggles in the future but prefer more financial security.
1405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've invested around 450 dollars into bitcoin and I am 16 years old on: February 20, 2023, 07:59:19 PM
No body cares if you are 16, 8, 20 or 80.  You need to prove us nothing.

A video of yourself to prove what exactly?  You are only subjecting yourself to harassment and threats from people who see you as vulnerable.  You are very vulnerable at 16 to a lot of things.  Internet people are not as friendly as they seem.  Please.  Your Privacy is very important and it is not a good idea to post a video showing your face saying 'hey I own some Bitcoin' at all.

What if your $450 all of a sudden turn into millions.  People will link your face to a high net worth and may resort to attacks.  So many things can go wrong bud.

This forum does not require age verification or any other sort of personal document.  Good for you if you invested $450 in Bitcoin.  But keep sensitive information to yourself, for your own sake.
As long as you know you are legit and are not using fake account, that’s good enough. Nobody cares actually what’s your real identity is. And it’s a good thing to never show some videos of yourself, you are just putting yourself in danger if ever. And always know that this market is surrounded with scammers, as long as you know that your are honest to yourself, then the community here do not need more clarifications just to prove you are legit.
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: February 20, 2023, 07:43:41 PM
It's very funny as well seing some people on this category of being persistent on gambling be it on sport betting, crypto casinos or even lotto, when a gambler is very desperate to make a win after several attempts to break record but never did, they insisted on perpetual trials on each categories and keep doing this over time, well it turns addiction to some while others couldn't but hold on to several attempts without having any results.
Well, it's because they want to win some money from gambling that makes them continue to gamble in many gambling games. And that will always happen because gambling can tempt them to continue playing and win money.

That's what makes many gamblers addicted because the temptation of the gambling game seems to be calling them to keep playing. But if people can limit themselves not to play gambling for too long or often, they will not be tempted and can leave gambling.
The urge to make money is clearly the reason why gamblers regardless of how many times they lose, are still trying their luck to make money and eventually want to double them. Although gambling is never bad, but the only time it gets too bad is when you reach to the point gambling all your money until your pocket becomes empty and then eventually take a loan just to fuel your gambling addiction. If you see it happening now, better leave gambling as early as now before it gets to ruin the life you have now.
1407  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your profit taking strategy? on: February 20, 2023, 07:12:55 PM
I have only been in crypto 14 months and it is only in the last 3 or 4 weeks with Bitcoin pumping that I have seen some profits.

I took out my initial investment in two of the altcoins I hold once they 2x so now have free money in them that I am hoping will see some good returns in the next bull run.

It got me thinking what is the best way to take profits and if taking out my investment at 2x was a clever move or if I did so too early?

Just wondering what everyone else does when it comes to taking profits?
If you want to take decent amount of profits, then prepare to hold your coins for long term, most especially for bitcoin and ethereum as they are the most profitable coins in the crypto market. However, selling when you start seeing the price has been doubled is not bad, but you can make bigger profits instead if you take more time to hold and only sell them when you need them the most, or when you think the profits are big enough for you. In the end, you still hold the final decision when to sell your coins.
1408  Economy / Economics / Re: To cut financial ties with original family benefits you in the long run on: February 20, 2023, 06:39:30 PM
Asking for help from parents when the need arises is normal. But staying financially dependent on them even in adulthood is simply irresponsible. The parents could also take part of the blame. Some parents cannot take it that their adult children are having a hard time. They willingly continue to support them. As a result, their children's behavior is reinforced. Parents instantly coming to their children's aid all the time may sound good, but it could also be dangerous as their children might not grow independent. They might not be able to try find ways to survive.
That’s the reason why most adults never know how to value their work or jobs because they know that even if they don’t have the jobs, they can still rely financial aid from their parents even if they have their own family already. I feel pity for those women who have husbands who never know how to make their own living, and everything they need they just ask them from their parents. Parents also who always tolerate their sons, are not really helping but they are pushing their sons to become more lazy and dependent when it comes to their financial needs.
1409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've invested around 450 dollars into bitcoin so far and I am 16 years old on: February 19, 2023, 09:58:41 PM
Currently, I am a sophomore in high school. I learned about btc from my dad and btc blew my mind and I was hooked. I've been pretty much putting all that I can into it for a year and a half now. Are there any tips you guys give me? 2/3 of my bitcoin is in Stockpile and the other third is with my dad (I'm not sure how he's storing it). At this moment I own a total of 0.01798185 bitcoin Smiley
Good luck, 0.01798185 is a large amount for your age.  It's admirable that you own so many bitcoins at this age, but it would be even more admirable if you could hold on to it. Holding Bitcoins is a difficult task that not everyone can do. So you use a non-custodial wallet to hold your bitcoins to keep them secure and when you are able to acquire more bitcoins buy a hardware wallet and store them safely there. Best wishes to you
It’s really impressive OP that you have been storing bitcoin at an early age. While others at your age spend their money buying gadgets, but you at your young age must have been wise enough to think about your future. Anyway, thanks to your dad as he maybe your mentor. But it’s best if you can keep them in a non-custodial wallet where you can keep them safely and hold them as long as you want without fearing that they can be hack or steal anytime. Just keep on DCAing, but never used all your money to buy bitcoin, since putting all your hard-earned money into bitcoin is never good too and advisable.
1410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 18, 2023, 07:28:49 PM
It's Fulton's time now to break that momentum and protect his thrown. We will see who's going to stand tall after the fight.

Although he is the champion, it seems that we are hoping he will be able to survive against Inoue. The fight between Inoue and Donaire was quite different because Donaire was the challenger, while here, it's Inoue who is the challenger, but people view him as the champion.

There is a huge pressure on Foltun because the majority of the fans do not believe he can beat the Monster, but let's see what happens during the fight night

Even before this fight, he already knew that. In fact, there was a statement from his camp that they needed to win because they were representing their country. That's how big they see this fight and the amount of success they will achieve if they win. Foltun did not show weakness in his press conference or statements, but we all know that everyone is scared of the Monster once they are in the ring.

But in Inoue's recent statement, he said that he is facing some pressures and having some worries as well because he doesn't know how will he perform in this weight class as this is also this first fight since he vacated the bantamweight. That just shows that Fulton isn't the only one who is having troubles in facing the pressures they are in but if we compare, I guess Fulton is carrying a much heavier load because he is visiting and fighting the former undisputed champion in his own country.
1411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 18, 2023, 03:40:26 PM
Yes, this fight is happening, I posted it here first, hehehe.

Anyways, it's good to have a separate thread for this fight, this is for the bantamweight belt so it's deserves one.

And as the majority of you guys see it, we are going to favor our very own Nonito Donaire and his chances are good to win another bantamweight reign. Santiago might be unknown to us, not enough in the top 5, but it doesn't mean that it will be easy for Donaire. Still very hard fight but at the end, the experience of Donaire will be in full display here, how he is going to set up that left hook, coverage of the ring and setting feint and traps to open Santiago and then give us his patented left hook to finish with a knockout.

Yup, no such thing as an easy fight for Donaire now especially at this stage of his career but i could say that this one is very winnable. As usual, Donaire's height or we say, he is the bigger fighter here which could be the biggest advantage of the Filipino Flash. Santiago is 5'2 which i think will give him a hard time to hit Donaire and him vulnerable to that patented counter left hook which could end the fight quickly.

Talking about Donaire's current situation. Honestly, I can't help but laugh whenever I see and read some folks that we shouldn't add Donaire's age as a factor that will be given as an advantage for his opponent because his performance is still good. I mean, what? That's almost impossible to do and to turn a blind eye for Donaire's current situation as surely age is always a factor same as youth.

But in this case, it seems that Donaire's situation won't be a hurdle as Santiago is not that type who can give Donaire some huge struggle as he doesn't have the height-reach advantage especially the experience.
1412  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do if bitcoin crash? on: February 18, 2023, 02:15:08 PM
If bitcoin crash today, what will be your fate? Poor or rich. Most people on the platform have submitted all their life savings to bitcoin investment. There was once a man in my area who sold his house to invest in a local platform called BARAZAR in 4 months missive the so-called BARAZAR was shoot down and now he does not have a cottage. So I ask again if bitcoin crashed today what will be your description rich or poor?

First of all, we can't really compare bitcoin to an unknown coin called BARAZAR. Although, I know there's still a chance that bitcoin will suddenly crash but the said chance is really slim as it is highly unlikely to happen especially this time that it has been known and been adopted by most countries in a worldwide scale (adopted by people, not government). But since you're asking if that happens, you won't be poor as long as you only invested some funds that you can afford to lose.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: February 18, 2023, 09:26:39 AM

I will be shock myself, lol.  Imagine a boxer fighting washed out mma players get in the ranking of top 5?  That will surely make the ranking look like a joke.

What will shock us more from this fight is the price, the price of the PPV £19.95, beating other boxing matches PPV prices.

Quote
One fan said: “WTF it's PPV as well? Haha. Boxing is dead.”

Another tweeted: “World’s gone. Seriously. £19.95 used to get you AJ/Klitchscko, Brook/Golovkin, Froch/Groves - with cracking undercards too. It’s absolutely embarrassing.”

A third fan joked: “Bargain I would of easily paid £29.99 to see this.”

Do you think this fight deserves £19.95 PPV I don't think so, but I love to see how the fight unfolds after two years of waiting I guess people want real entertainment and they will even pay more than rated boxing matches

Fans say ‘boxing is dead’ after BT reveal PPV price for Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury

Well, anyone does have their own comments about the upcoming fight between Tommy Furry and Jake Paul, and people will always find a way to make such comments. But, let's think of it, surely it's their own choice if they will set the price higher because they are also not forcing anyone to see their fight. They are just making the hype and marketing it as that's what organizers and boxers do, the fact is, they are just getting advantage of the situation because their fight has been criticized by many and that makes it more famous. The more haters, the more money. We are also the only ones who are feeding these nonsense so-called boxers to make a nonsense fight.
1414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 18, 2023, 07:37:29 AM
With the Clippers, I think they are playing good team basketball. If Westbrook is able to play his role well, then I'm pretty sure he will be one of the biggest reasons for this team to improve in their upcoming games. It's very exciting to know where he will end up, but we have no choice now but to wait for the result.
If Clippers buys him out, having Kawhi and Paul George is going to be a good trio for the team then. Aside from them, there are other teams where he has talked with namely,

  • Wizards
  • Heat
  • Bulls

Everyone seems to agree that Clippers might be the best place for his new home. But still, that will depend on his and management's deal.

My honest option for Westbrook currently is that he will be a good additional to the LA Clippers, no doubt about that as the team is already good given that PG and Kawhi are there and adding Westbrook will definitely give the roster an enhancement to be a more serious playoff contender. But if ever he won't be in Clippers, he's also good to go in Miami Heat where his presence and contribution is really needed. But for Wizards and Bulls, I doubt it. But just like you guys have said, it still depends on the highest bidder, IMO.
1415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: February 17, 2023, 08:02:42 PM
There were two nations hosting before and both of them got in, I remember clearly Korea and Japan hosted it together and they had no issues accepting all three. I think in this case USA will be the hardest one to accept, but even they were in the last one, Canada too, and if I am not mistaken, Mexico too?

It looks like this would be a bit of a situation if teams were too bad, but these are the teams that already got in last time, so if given the regular competition they would still be in again, and this is why it's not a shocker that they would end up with getting in right away if they are hosting as well, they totally deserve such a thing.

Yes and that was the first and last time where 2 countries have joined together to host a World Cup, that was in the last 2002 and afterwards, only a single country has successfully won the bid and outscored some countries that attempt to join their bid together. This time, it will happen again but it's not just 2 nations combining, it's three. Therefore, the whole North American continent will host the games namely Canada, USA, and Mexico. And that also means that their national team will have a perks to advance automatically in the qualifiers.
1416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 17, 2023, 06:06:48 PM
Time is running fast for Donaire, but we will have to wait when is this title eliminator between Gaballo vs Runvisai, it just says the fight will be held in US soil, but no definite date as of yet.

Wait, is the winner between Gaballo and Runvisai now the possible opponent for Nonito Donaire? Since Moloney backed out, why did the WBC instead just mandate and ordered the current rank 3 on their Bantamweight rankings to face Donaire instead?

I'm referring to Rank 3 WBC Bantamweight contender Nawaphon Kaikanha who loses to Moloney last October.

Instead of waiting for long and keeping Donaire hanging, Probelleum should rush things to deal a fight for Donaire after Moloney backed out.
Unless there is something going on from which we are unaware this does not make sense at all, Donaire as good as he is needs to be as active as possible and this means getting two fights per year to maximize his potential before his imminent retirement, and if the fight for another title is delayed is possible that at best he will only get one fight during this year, which is disappointing as he is already 40 years old and not many boxers can retain their skills well into their forties.
yes , Donaire seems like limiting his fight with 1 fight a year , maybe extending the fighting will improve his ranking and also His dedication , because Even Manny Pacquiao in his prime are having 2 fights a year and yes he maintain his speed and his momentum.
hope that Donaire's side will consider this as well.

If there was no Covid outbreak in the recent years, Donaire could've afford to have 2 fights per year while he's still a year or two below 40s but that wasn't the case before because every movements are very limited because of the outbreak and that includes their preparations and discussions to make a bout happen. Now, as time passes by, Donaire's age is continuing to add up as well and that makes him to go for the safer side where he should only fight at least once a year. And with his recent loss against Inoue, that gives him a reason not to retire because it's not a good exit for him.
1417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: February 17, 2023, 05:40:32 PM
I'm sure there's some site that collects them all or groups them into overall categories but there's lots of different governing bodies so it's best to check their individual pages. WBC is the board that have offered the ranking for this fight: https://box.live/world-rankings/wbc/

When they say he will be ranked I'm not sure exactly what that means or what the criteria is for getting on the ranked list. Maybe he will go into the top 100 or 50 or something. Hopefully they don't mean the top 15 which is usually the best of the best and those are the ones that can challenge for titles. Jake is a Cruiserweight I think and the lowest amount of fights I can see in the top 15 fights total. Someone just dropped out of the top 15 with only 11 fights so Jake has a long way to go but he could probably get there eventually.
Boxing rankings have always alluded me. They've never really made any logical sense, and seem to be just some made up crap. Whereas, at least in the UFC you have to beat higher ranked fighters to move up, it seems in boxing you can continue to fight people below you, and go up. I ditched caring about the rankings years ago, at least in boxing.

I can see Jake being top 15 quality though. Obviously, I'm doing it by hearsay, and not actually relying on the official rankings there, but he has decent technique, and seems to have a dedication that goes beyond some of the professional boxers that have made this their life.

Let's see if he gets past Tommy first though, if he doesn't that could be a serious spanner in his plans, because ultimately it's the first real boxer he's faced, even though personally I think he's more than satisfied with the quality of opposition this early in his career. Definitely, better than most boxers that look to pad their records.

Yes, it's fair to say that the rankings are not that really accurate and the basis isn't that kind of established to know how these boxers climbs the said rankings per governing body. But there are still some advantage of this rankings because if ever there will be a title eliminator or a challenge, we can somehow guess who will be the boxers as the ranks tells that they are next in line. For me, it's like a they are just queuing actually.

Bitcoin is the best alternative way to save money, with Bitcoin you have control over your savings because it's your wallet and your key and you are your banks!

Best alternative indeed, that is the legacy of the creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. As the creator's first and foremost aim is to give the people new options to hedge themselves against the inflation. Now I know there are some risks entailed investing with it but it's somehow manageable rather than sitting doing nothing while watching your money depreciate. Be your own bank, as they said.

I bet bitcoin has been actually really helpful to the people of Russia especially this time where their country is under pressure from the UN, it's the best alternative to preserve your wealth and even get profits from it.

In case you missed who Alejandro is or also known as Pique, he was the one who snatched Jerwin Ancajas's IBF belt and the man who defeated Gary Russell in a majority decision.

1420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 16, 2023, 06:44:12 PM
In tomorrow's 2023 NBA Season game New Orleans vs LA Lakers I want to place a bet on Orleans and I have confidence that I will win the bet because if you look at the previous game Orlans beat the Lakers.
Also here are many following the bet on the match and does anyone have the same faith as me by betting on Orlans?
Lebron James, AD, and CJ are all questionable for this game. The best way to bet is when there is final news about these stars or even at game time. They're just too big of a factor in this game. IF CJ won't play and either Bron or AD can play then it is most likely that the Lakers will win. And take note that the Pelicans are only 10-18 when it comes to road games. If you want to bet now, the Lakers is the safest IMO. The Lakers are playing at home too.
Anyways, I only have 1 bet for tomorrow's games. I am rooting for the Miami Heat to beat the Brooklyn Nets. Decent odds too since Miami is playing on the road.

I feel like even though the overall performance is better for the Pelicans, I think right now the safe choice is going to be the Lakers. Because I feel like the Lakers have actually improved compared to how they had been playing before. And home conditions are also going to favor the Lakers.

But at the same time the Lakers have also been pretty inconsistent right now. Therefore, I think the only reason why I am willing to choose the Lakers is because they are playing in home condition.

Regards

Duke

It seems you pointed it out correctly here mate and I hope you placed some few spare bucks in-favor of the Lakers because they have won the game earlier versus the Pelicans with an 18-point margin. Lebron and AD of course are the biggest contributor but ever since D'Angelo Russell came to the Lakers, the team got a big help because the man can really shoot the ball and this time, he too gave a 20+ points to the team as well as the players mentioned.

Their next game is with the Warriors and the Lakers will host the game, this will be fun to watch. By the way, things are getting pretty hectic for the Lakers as they need to win 16 games in their last 24 games of the regular season to qualify for the Play-in.
