1421  Other / Off-topic / Zhou Tong advertising on BitcoinTalk. on: July 31, 2012, 07:32:21 AM
Ok I realize this is totally tasteless.  But I'm going to express my thoughts with a picture (it is worth 1000 words btw):

Also, I find it hilarious that this is a rule of his service "Unfortunately, we do not allow nor encourage our customers to enable WHOIS privacy." yet he uses email addresses like stevejobs804@gmail.com or whatever to try and hide his identity.

BTW: what does "Zhou Tong: A.k.a. Ryan" mean on your website https://www.zhoutong.com/ ?  Living in Melbourne now?  Old news?  I duno.

I know "innocent until proven guilty" and I never lost a single bitpenny on his bitcoinica website so I have no reason to complain, but it aggravates me to see him among us like it never happened.
1422  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HOLY SHIT BTC-E.COM hit $40 per BTC! on: July 31, 2012, 06:58:50 AM
I took a bunch of screenshots of the chat window during the madness if anyone is interested:

http://www.bitcointrading.com/forum/index.php?topic=938.0

and after that point I just recorded a video of the chat window with Freez Screen.  Let me know there is enough interest to upload.
1423  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin <-> USD\BTC (fee 0.2%) on: July 31, 2012, 06:57:07 AM
I was trying to keep up with the conversation as it was taking place by taking screen captures:

http://www.bitcointrading.com/forum/index.php?topic=938.0

After that point, I just enabled Freez Screen Video Capture of the chat window, so if you are interested I can upload the 2-3 hour chat that took place after that part.

It was cool when support came in and started answering questions, I have it all recorded live.

But it's only medium-interesting in the grand scheme of things.  I didn't read it though, I just set it to record and walked away.
1424  Other / Meta / Re: Can I change my avatar without losing my "grandfathered" signature image? on: July 31, 2012, 06:32:39 AM
IMHO, you should keep your avatar, I think it's awesome!
1425  Other / Meta / Re: Automatically save outgoing PM's in outbox on: July 31, 2012, 06:26:50 AM
I've looked into setting that option by default, but it wasn't obvious to me how to do it. It looks like it might be difficult.

There is no PM limit.

1426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Summing up: Was there any 51% attack at all? on: July 31, 2012, 04:42:53 AM

1427  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-e Hacked by Russians!! Price hits $60/BTC!!! on: July 31, 2012, 02:39:45 AM
The categories on bitcointalk make no sense.. I post about a Currency Exchange in Currency Exchange and get moved to Service Discussion, when the discussion on this currency exchange service is taking place in speculation?
Discussion about BTC-E takes place in the general marketplace section, which is perfectly valid: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40889.0
The thread in speculation is about the recent huge buy/hack/whatchamacallit.
This section is for actual OTC trading, not layman speculation.

The Service Discussion section is for OTC trading?
Sorry, I meant Currency Exchange. Somehow I disregarded the fact that the thread was moved when making that post. You get my point, though.

I totally get your point, I was just being a smartass Wink

SUCH a good feature.  I'm glad it's possible, even if not the default setting.

I call it "Magic Internet Money."

sounds funnier.

Canada wants some of that internet money!!!
1437  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ["WAIT LIST"] BFL SC Order Dates / Ship Dates on: July 30, 2012, 07:36:04 PM
I have a Jalapeno order in but am missing the point here. Why exactly are we listing stuff here. There may be (probably are) a lot of people who aren't even on this forum.
If you go to the site, pretend place an order, then press back, then submit again, you see you have a new order number although you didn't pay yet.  With some persistence you could artificially get us to order #10,000...  The order number is useful just at a reference of your positioning to other forum members.

I still have to submit mine.. I have like, 8 Jalapeno's comin'.

Does it matter what is said, would anything change your opinion?
Not really.
