1421  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: January 09, 2016, 05:59:49 PM
I would go for a diversified investment too.
Never bet on 1 horse. So fifty fifty is a good option. However i prefer the stock markets too, since they are less risky and offer a better ROI.

Taking in account a period of 3-5 years
1422  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What are your thoughts on Coinbase and others? on: January 09, 2016, 05:58:23 PM
I was a blockchain fan since they offer many options in their wallet.
But since coinbase also allows to sign messages https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/1526413-how-do-i-sign-a-message-with-a-bitcoin-address-

They are my favourite wallet.
1423  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: January 09, 2016, 05:53:06 PM
The issue should be fixed now. All previous tokens will no longer work since the server had to be shutdown.

There have also been some additional features added. There is now a merchant feature which will give you slightly obfuscated details which is good for sellers to share with their buyers. Also requests will now be kept for 1 week after they complete instead of 1 day. There are also now (semi)permalinks to the requests so that you can share that link with others.

Alright, lets see how its working

Share this estimate: http://www.bctalkaccountpricer.info/?token=n6518rpr

Thanks, good to know, I got some problems since a few days too. Mostly it's not updating my que one the website.
Too bad visitorsbit.com is gone btw.

Got this message now:
Your token is 7t7e73br

Something has changed.

Does someone knows for whatthe merchant option is  being used for?
1424  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Technical Problems at Cryptsy? on: January 06, 2016, 07:03:05 PM
Did anyone get their withdrawals already? I am still waiting for mine from a week ago?
Cryptsy mailed me they got my ticket, but they did not replied me on my withdrawal?

I've seen no update on the cryptsy threads. So far it seems that all withdrawals before new year/christmas are still pending.
I may be wrong or perhaps they are in a holiday period, but we all have to agree this is wrong right.
1425  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Dark marketplaces? on: January 06, 2016, 06:57:10 PM

Yeah it is beyond me why you even want to be there. I am sure they have  'interesting' products, but for me staying out of jail is way more important.
No dark marketplaces for me.

There's nothing illegal about taking a look around. I did it once. It wasn't very exciting and Tor is a pain in the ass. If I need something illegal I'll buy it from a guy who knows a guy in meatspace.

Illegal is never good. I never will visit such a dark market/site simply because those people are not in my league.
After all, there is a reason why it's illegal...

Yeah, it's illegal because a bunch of very precise people decided it was so...

If your government decided that kissing in public was illegal because it could shock people, would you follow it?
Incredible how people tend to forget the law is produced by just a few hundreds of people, who can be influenced, biased, corrupted or simply wrong.

The law isn't always good. And when it's not it's the duty of citizens to fight it.

You are so right when you say this.
Yes some things which the governement finds illegal are far from illegal.
Nonetheless the general sentiment on those market places is real illegal things. Which should be forbidden.

Agreed. Most of them are sites promoting prostitution, weaponds/drugs sales...

But it's important to remember illegal is mostly a matter of perspective  Cheesy

Perspective can be narrowed down too.
Weapons should be illegal and are
Softdrugs is illegal in some countries.
Harddrugs is illegal in all countries.

With other words, we all know which kind of items can be found on those market places and no average joe has anything to do on a dark market place, period!
1426  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening to BTC price? on: January 06, 2016, 06:39:32 PM
The price is going up for sure, if we hold the 400 USD then.
If it breaks 400 USD then we will see the price go down to 300 USD

Well the next support after 400 is 380. I think it will be very hard to break.
People will just jump on a price of 380 price of bitcoin.

A big whale can manipulate the bitcoin easily as the market depth is too low. But that will not last long.

Na I don't think so. The time of big whales running the show is long gone. Today you need at least 10-15 big whales to shake up the price.
So it's not 1 person deciding to play around with bitcoin anymore.

I am sure some companies like hashnest and bitpay are big enough to manipulate the price.
The amount of bitcoins they have can really cause the market to crash easily to 100 USD or even less.

Having that in mind, they are probably the same parties whom benefitted the most of this current increase.
1427  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: January 06, 2016, 06:36:35 PM
While investing make sure you invest in solid investments, not some online shady things.
While saving your money, remember it's risk free but your money will become less.

Find a right balance is the thing to do, like many things in life.
1428  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: January 06, 2016, 06:33:05 PM
If I get sufficient income from bitcoinI would. Else being a millionare yes I would lose my job and go into some 100% bitcoin venture capitalist.
However right now i would never do it, since it's too insecure.
1429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that Satoshi is still active on Bitcointalk.org? on: January 06, 2016, 06:28:30 PM
Satoshi will not be here. His writing style has been analysed, so if he post again, he will be recognised.

Him posting here no, but him being here and reading.. Yes, i am very sure of that.
Maybe not every day but he sure is wondering what is happening to his bitcoin invention.
1430  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go back to bellow $400? on: January 06, 2016, 06:23:19 PM
It can go back to 400 dollar but remember the halving is coming too.

So even if it go back to 400 dollar, it's very likely it will go back to 450 dollar too, before the halving.
1431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: whats the easiest way to give btc as a gift? on: January 06, 2016, 06:21:03 PM
you can try purse.io a service that provides purchasing amazon gift cards
https://purse.io/

I gave 3 persons last year such a card.
Since it is real money people eventually are forced to use it and with that they know more about bitcoin hopefully.
1432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be profitable in the long run! It is possible! on: January 06, 2016, 06:16:52 PM
Of course there are some people who get ridiculous wealth from gambling, but only a few maybe less than 10% of total gamblers.

Sports arbitrage can be very profitable in the long term, and it is legit there, if you bet on pinnacle, they welcome arbitrage traders, so it means that many odds and lines are flexible, traders have good chance to make safe bets.

Well better yet make it less then  0.01%. The amount of gamblers online/offline are huge.
Daily you will find only a few that will win.
1433  Economy / Exchanges / Re: C-CEX.com Trusted, Secure & Friendly Exchange Since 2013. 100+ Alts,USD,Low Fees on: January 06, 2016, 05:40:27 PM
I accidentlly removed the left bar with all coins, how can i restore this?
Click "Markets overview"

The market overview tab is nice when switching coins, but it looks terrible on your mobile.
C-CEX are you planning to make your exchange more user friendly for mobile phones?
1434  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best Bitcoin Cloud Mining? on: January 06, 2016, 05:36:16 PM
With hasnest combining buy hashes when btc price goes up and selling hashes when btc price goes down , it is a little complex but if you are smart to understand correlation of btc price with gh/s price then  you can do some money, i deposited 0.12 btc three monts ago and now i have 0.16

Hashnest is probably one of the best cloud mining companies out there.
Sure they did cheat, but less then other companies did. Which makes them the best of the worst.

Hashnest is the best since there is not better one.
They are indeed the best of the worst.

I used them in the past but these days not anymore. The time where cloud mining, if ever, is gone.
1435  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: January 05, 2016, 01:44:01 PM
I know a lot of us here hope the price go down so we can rebuy quickly.
But to be honest the new floor is around 300 dollar.

Yes people are not aware of the fact the new floor has been raised.
Bitcoin going to 100 or 200 dollar again is very unlikely.

My guess we find the floor somewhere between 300 and 330 dollar
1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: January 05, 2016, 01:41:08 PM
for me signature campaign is good method to growing bitcoin, also we can invest money with buying altcoin, but you must doing more research before invest Smiley

A signature campaign is an excellent way to get a little extra bitcon.
But if you want to earn some real bitcoin start giving out loans or start some kind of service; like a translation service.

Faucets shouldn't be on the list to grow your bitcoin.
1437  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Technical Problems at Cryptsy? on: January 05, 2016, 01:39:27 PM
I am sick of trying to keep up with the latest rumors of what's going on with cryptsy. All I can really say is that I am greatly disappointed in what's going on. Now it's just pathetic.

Those weren't rumors, those reasons were given to me by there own IT Support staff after opening a ticket on a stuck in pending btc withdraw.  4 days of pending, received a response two days after opening and one each day that was different until i canceled the withdraw then converted to ltc and was able to withdraw just before that started to have the same issue as btc withdraws were having.  No rumor just what they said.

The first thing you see when you open a ticket is how to cancel your withdrawal?
That is just plain evil. They know they are frustrating users and they enforce them to keep using them.

Bad... very bad...
1438  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best exchanger? on: January 05, 2016, 01:36:15 PM
No best exchanges exists in the world!just remember do not put too much in them. They may go bust any time.

I'm sure not all exchanges are about scamming. Running a busy exchanges is very profitable. For that matter i won't see bitstamp or bitfinex doing a Runner.

You're right that it's better to store you coins offline, but using exchanges (I can recommend Bitstamp) is not something bad.
1439  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Crash coming on: January 05, 2016, 01:31:42 PM
It looks like a new movie "Bitcoin Apocalypse"

yes, and just like the predictions of kwukduckie, all movies are fiction. he is desperately trying to make people panic by making bitcoin look bad. it's pathetic.

It's weird why someone would do that right.
We are all in this together. Probably he is a miserable person since he makes so much effort creating panic.

Based on current information there can be a fall back to 330 but no 'Big Crash'
1440  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will January 2016 bring? on: January 05, 2016, 01:28:04 PM
I really hope to see some company like ebay accepting bitcoin.
It would give bitcoin so much power.

With power I mean it will attract people about bitcoin seeing it's a real payment option.

This would be very very beneficial for bitcoin's prosperity. I do expect this to happen but not this year.
If the price stablizes this year and we see some little developers, merchants probably find bitcoin themself.
