Price has a strong psychological value. When it crashes I remember the headlines were all negative in the mainstream press. Now that the price is going up again suddendly Bitcoin is looking great. The mainstream press is too stupid to see anything beyond price.

Where were you when it reached $1.2k for about an hour???
Did you watch the media??? They were all talking that how it reached from $0.0001 to $1200 in just 5 years, and trust me, no investment could have given that much returns in this timeframe...
Also, price has psychological value, but when it comes to Bitcoins, you already know you are in profit because everything starts from scratch, and Bitcoins still have some decent value as compared to previous years, so basically it grows steadily because of adoption, and not adoption is taking place because of price...

Even though I don't think that bitcoin will reach down to $100 again, if it eventually does, more people would have adapted to bitcoin and are able to buy.

Everything can happen because this decentralized currency has no guarantee that it will take off to the moon or to be as cheap as $100. People are staying with bitcoin for now because it gets people profit but once the price crash, we will never know how many people will be leaving this

This is not correct. You can buy Bitcon at any time if you have some spare money.
You might not be able to buy a whole Bitcoin.But should this be the reason for the price to decline?!

What are people doing when the buy gold? They are buying fractions of a ounce, meaning 1/20 or 1/10 for instance if they can't afford to buy a whole ounce!

Could be but I have learnt not to say you are holding out to buy because then it will never get to that level you are willing to buy at 
It is as if the bitcoins have ears and can hear you in waiting anticipation for you to want to buy at a set price. January has always been a month for the price to fall anyways. I think it has to do with uncertainty of the future to the bitcoins.

That's one of the reasons I am not buying more. There is no base for the last price rise.
In fact, it could easily go back to a very low price without any real reason too

when it comes to bitcoin, everything is possible. it is however very unlikely too see the $200 price level back unless an exchange gets hacked and a lot coins are stolen. then it can trigger a massive selling wave. without significant bad news it won't go down that much.

The coins from the hacked exchangers never move . The hacker is not that stupid to sell the hacked coins dorectly because the exchangers could just block his account and unable the withdrawal but instead the hacker has keep the coins safe for years before selling it little by little

Right, but the fact is that btc will never go to $100 for sure, the time has come that the value of bitcoins would be going higher and higher and it would reach to a new level in the coming months, as the adoption level would be much higher in then next few months as it is becoming more and more popular.

I would be happy to buy at 100 dollar but like you said the market is very unstable these days.

to me it look around 400, and today another confimration of this, a little increase toward 450, we are currently at 440

the enw bottom is indeed 400 since 300 was broken many time and we remained stable above it for some months already

it's all about how much time one value can hold in the market
