1421  Economy / Speculation / BTC back to 1,200+ on: March 09, 2017, 04:56:33 PM
Woops feeling bad about the people that sold yesterday at the 1135 bottom. Wild swings show the bullish sentiment. If the ETF is not passed, maybe the sellof allready was priced out, in any case it shows that it will get bought up quickly.

Remember that decision is not tomorrow but march 13th, so we may test high 1200 again before final verdict.
1422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ETF betting on: March 09, 2017, 04:12:03 PM
Do not look short term. If you believe in Bitcoin, you should not matter about the decision next week. Even if the ETF will not get approved, the price will dump more or less but mid and long term I am sure the price will reach todays niveau again.

The price keeps growing, im not sure if im going to risk selling, we may see $1400+ before the ETF either gets passed or gets rejected which nobody knows, it is indeed a total gamble, so we will see what happens, for now im just holding and waiting for events o unfold.

Everyone knows the price will keep climbing with or without Winklevoss ETF, the question here is to profit from the ups and downs to make more BTC, and you must take risks for that.

Of course if it passes people that sold or short is FUCKED since I predict it will go to the moon.
1423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How far do you think ETH will go? on: March 09, 2017, 03:19:47 PM
ETH still in the second positions on coinmarketcap which mean volume support for ETH still high on the exchanges and many people still trade this coin and i think ETH still survive at least for next one year but regarding the price movement i don't know for sure because very difficult to predict altcoin price

Ethereum is backed by a lot of big pockets in the game including microsoft and IBM, as long as those keep pumping money into the project I can see the marketcap going up, but marketcap going up is a different story from the price going up.
I think ETH is not a good long term investment. Another DAO event will for sure make it crash.
1424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is better? To gamble or to invest? on: March 09, 2017, 12:21:49 AM
The current situation with the bitcoin ETF is a clear example how it's exactly the same (gambling and investing).

If you think the ETF will pass or fail, and invest over that assumption, you are gambling because at the end of the day, it's impossible to know what will happen untill it happens.
1425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Thanks Core devs for 0.14 on: March 08, 2017, 11:39:57 PM
Testing out Bitcoin Core 0.14 for the first time. The boot time was decreased (again, how do they do it? it keeps getting faster). Nice performance, and now the wait to sync isn't desperating thinking you are making 0 progress because of the new window that shows remaining blocks.

Remember to download your Bitcoin Core 0.14 today and run a full node.
1426  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF confirmed by sauces on: March 08, 2017, 07:41:22 PM
I have a secret sauce and he says that the ETF is already baked in. I have another special sauce, and he also confirms my first sauce. It's all very saucy. Buy all the bitcoins because soon they will be gone like hot cakes.

The excellent chef in the retaurant I go to made a great sauce today. I asked what the receipt was, he told me that he was not able to tell me until March 13th. I was already thinking why, then I realized, the excellent sauce that my chief cooked is a sign that we will see an ETF approved and we will all finally be millionaires.
1427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ETF decision before 11th March on: March 08, 2017, 07:25:13 PM
Drama is already on, there is huge correction going on price right now may be someone from inside know what will be the decision. If it don't got approved there is high chance that price will go even more down to almost 1000$ range but if got approved we will see real price surge.

Insider trading may be a thing but I don't believe this is the case. Who can know what the SEC will do? Only people in the government. Do you think there are bitcoin whales with SEC-tier access to the documents? Im not sure about that. We are still in the early days, most bitcoin whales are computer nerds and cryptoanarchysts. The businessmen whales like Winklevoss are a tiny minority.
1428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Is not Worth More than 5$-10$ on: March 08, 2017, 07:07:32 PM
Actually ethereum smart contracts is really revolutionary and yes it is not just a regular cryptocoin that can only be used for payment, it is platform where different self executing system can be built including dice game like vdice have. However DAO disaster have made ETH to lost its charm and price.

It was not only DAO, but how ETH reacted to it. If it was not the DAO, then any other samrt contract would have sooner or later been a massive disaster. The problem is, Vitalik showed his true face as a centralizing dictator. Told exchanges to stop all trades and then they went for the backpedaling technique. Sad to see. Since then, ETH will never be the same. Now it's a split coin with stagnating marketcaps.
1429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 209: Woodley vs Thompson Info and Prediction Thread on: March 07, 2017, 07:03:58 PM
I think the UFC is at risk of fucking up their business if they keep delivering such underwhelming cards.

With Jon Bones suspended because of drugs, Conor outside of the octagon wanting to start his boxing career, Nate waiting for Conor and also wanting to start boxing, Overeem out of his prime and fighting on undercards, and now the rising star Khabib failing to pass the cut, we may see a decrease serious of PPV sales.

Dana was about to make a big investment in UFC Russia, and now their biggest start is on the hospital... we'll see.
1430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can gambling help you with your life? on: March 07, 2017, 06:28:12 PM
Gambling changed many people's lives. I have seen many people gone poor because of gambling and they deposit every single $ they got in gambling. However, there are a few users who made quite good profit out of gambling but all those were short term gamblers.
- Say exactly that it ruined the lives of many people, many people lost everything because gambling. Gambling brings hope to poor people become rich, but then it had destroyed them. I don't see too many people get the profits from gambling, most of the people I know are lost in long time. If talk about the benefits of gambling, I think it helps us to relax and reduce stress but if we play it so much, we'll addiction and it will affect our lives
i wonder how people can be so relax and get stress reduced when they keep getting losses.

the only thing are pretty clear for me gambling not really help anybody in any terms most of the times. gambling make you lost your mind , act so mad and provide a lot of problem in the end , unless if you really enjoy gambling as entertainment which it is not often happened.
Yes if you take Gambling just for fun then you will enjoy the game, and you will get more entertainment. But if you treat gambling is a business I am sure it will make your life end if you get addicted. So the gambling will not fix your life and don't think it will fix in future. It will never and ever fix your life. It only spoils your life. So don't play gambling for money.

Most people will never take gambling as fun because they have big ego problems where they develop a serious problem that wants them want to take revenge against its own bad luck, so they keep compulsively gambling again until they win, but by the time they win tis too late, they lost too much money. The spiral downards begins. This is why gambling is not for everyone.
1431  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1050 2min flash dump anomaly on: March 07, 2017, 04:58:01 PM
The price didn't go that low, it was higher than that, and it is typical of bitcoin to show those kind of ups and downs. Insta dumps can happen, insta buys can happen too. What happened is, people had a ton o buy orders that got filled quickly, that's all. I don't think anything out of the ordinary happened. Just another day in bitcoin office.
1432  Economy / Speculation / Re: Jihan Wu crashes the Bitcoin price on: March 07, 2017, 03:23:16 PM
Mining mogul Jihan Wu single-handedly crashes the Bitcoin price by supporting BUcoin.

Dumb low IQ Roger Vermin and the rest of delusional BUcoiners celebrate that Antpool mined some BUcoin blocks. Just hours later, the price crashes into oblivion.

The Powers That Be failed to hack bitcoin, but they might as well kill it by good ol "divide and conquer".

Good job, Jihan, now you'll soon be emperor of a worthless token.

another very questionable topic from this user full of false information.
i am not getting in the middle of the BU vs Segwit shit but as far as price is concerned the FUD that people like you spread is causing the drop. whales dump then they spread FUD and idiots start selling afterwards. nothing to see here that is new.

Don't be ridiculous. I created this thread as the price was already recovering. Also I predicted it because china was going to wake up to those news and that is a good bulk of the market that becomes active at that hour.

It's just what it is. Jihan is playing chess. Bluffing, being aggressive, he is fucking around. Is this part of the bitcoin protocol?

1434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is MaidSafeCoin actually a thing? on: March 06, 2017, 06:37:23 PM
So today I took a look at this MaidSafeCoin.

I think the concept is pretty interesting. In fact I thought about if a coin like MaidSafeCoin could be realized long before I heard about it.

If you don't know what this concept is: You can offer some space of your hard disk as storage to the SAFE network and will in return be rewarded with coins for this. They call this farming and as I understand it this farming is meant to replace the mining you have in other currencies.

I find this interesting because this would actually be useful beyond just securing the network.

My question however is: Can this MaidSafeCoin actually offer a secure distributed currency like bitcoin is or are there any downsides of using this farming instead of mining?

I could not find too much information on the web that would clear this up for me. Maybe someone of you is a bit more familiar with this coin or point me to some detailed explanation of how securing the network is supposed to work with this coin.

Been waiting for them for a while to deliver a good update and finally get my stupid maidsafecoin tokens converted into proper safecoin tokens, but as far as I can see, they are still using the maidsafecoin tokens which were supposedly termporary tokens until the final software was deployed and the proper network was currently running, we were promised this a long time ago if im not mistaken, but looks like the software is still not released and we are stuck. I wonder what is next for this coin.
1435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looks like the DASH party is over. on: March 06, 2017, 05:23:27 PM
Over ? it's at $46  Cheesy

It peaked at 0.04850, it is now at 0.035... and we will see what happens. It is holding decently enough on that range, but who is to say that we are not about to see a big period of stagnation? the hype is definitely over.

The ridiculous DASH hype, unjustified to my knowledge, has been finished. The price is naturally crashing, while the bitcoin price is naturally growing. Altcoins are being sold to join the BTC train, no wait, the BTC rocket.

So who lost money with this? and who, hopefully, made a killing? This was a good pump, i'll give you that. I wish I was holding some, but I had no reason to buy when it was 5 dollars.

According to what I read in different forum about DASH, there are other community are favored in it and some are not, But for whatever it is happening now bitcoin so far the value is continuously growing while most of the altcoin was dropping the price also. But still dash is high compare to other altcoin.

So apparently DASH is not liquid because of masternodes. If you did your research there are over 7 million DASH available, but the problem is most masternodes won't sell, meaning the price would have to go alot higher for some masternode owner willing to sell his coins. But probably most masternodes won't sell due to interest they get in DASH for being a masternode. Guess it will be the greatest pump when when it keeps going higher and no sellers.

I see, interesting, maybe that is why satoshi decided not to give incentives to people running nodes, otherwise the same would happen?
1436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Confuse about altcoin on: March 06, 2017, 04:45:43 PM
Poloniex is the best altcoin exchange, because it got the best volume, that's all. it's all about volume, if the coin has no good volume, it is an useless coin, unless the technology is really great and most people haven't caught up yet, then that would be a good opportunity to buy, other than that is just a big gamble.

Bittrex is good sometimes, since they get coins before polo.
1437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be considered as a Sickness!! on: March 06, 2017, 04:04:34 PM
It's clear that some people are always going to have problems gambling, at this point wen you realize that, it is obvious that you must be ready o quit gambling for years, it is clear that some people are genetically inclined to never be able to control it, in those extreme cases, medication must be considered.

1439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash worshippers writing FUD about Bitcoin won't help for you on: March 05, 2017, 04:47:20 PM
First fight with Ethereum, because it's useless even without FUD. Dash is in early stage and very depended on Bitcoin, it won't help for you to write FUD about Bitcoin

Im honestly tired of all the Dash pumpers with their obvious accounts that are made for shilling, but to be honest it's part of the game and I have fun seeing the trolls pumping their altcoins.

Sorry for everyone that didn't sell their alts for bitcoin yet cause we going up.
1440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 209: Woodley vs Thompson Info and Prediction Thread on: March 05, 2017, 03:48:08 PM
I finally went for Woodley and Overeem as winners (didn't bet on the rest) so I made some decent money, in any case, the car was greatly damaged by the Khabib incident.

Woodley and Thompson didn't satisfy the public. It was a very tactical fight, very slow, with an explosive ending by Woodley which is what made him win by 1 point.
