A problem for many though I scammed them, my first shift starts back on Monday

Sticking with people who are perpetually stoned and can't get your order right then 👍

That's a bit scary.
1423  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: May 21, 2021, 10:52:52 PM

See!  This is super useful to see.  It is encouraging to see so little piled up on the sell side considering the damn valley we are currently in.  But to honor our lone dissenter I have reduced the sizes in the quote to teensy-weensie.  Wait.  That sounded like something JJG would say.  Uh oh... something might have gotten stuck down in there.

Unfortunately when the walls stack like that, it often means we're due to move into the high (lower) side. The sells don't pile up, they just eat into the buy side (and vice versa when fortunes are flipped). It does explain why bounce-backs tend to be a bit easier though.

you could say the crackdown on Chinese mining is good for BTC as this will reduce the carbon footprint. They use mostly coal fired power plants.  Now the rest of the world pics up China's slack with more energy efficient grids.  Next there will newly designed miners ( probably in the works now) that will dramatically reduce power usage while increasing computation abilities.

A lot of the Chinese mining has been using unallocated hydropower for a long time. It allows for building infrastructure that can be used before it is needed for the purposes it is ultimately destined for.

In case anyone was wondering who to blame Cheesy

Just more FUD. Just look at the timing.
1427  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 21, 2021, 06:36:08 PM

Well not a spam specially on WO but I guess question could be asked do we need it hourly?

Probably not. But how is Chartbuddy to know what is considered interesting? Bear in mind that this is the wall observer thread and not the price observer* thread (though you might be forgiven for not knowing that these days) and that anything older than an hour is already stale news.

*And as others have suggested, if you want price history, sites like bitcoinity already provide that well.
1428  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 21, 2021, 05:41:35 PM
Remember someone is trying to steal your bitcoins and they are putting all their efforts to get the lowest price.

I don't usually buy this line when we're going down but this time, I'm fairly confident it's what's happening.
1429  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: May 21, 2021, 04:26:21 PM
Ah what a good time that was; blue skies, ponies and rainbows everywhere

It wasn't on this forum Wink

Catch-up

Explanation

I'm thinking this might be the way to do things with the posts. If nobody posts, CB just adds to his previous post (though it would be nice if the forum did this kind of thing automatically). It would still be more than some would like but it would help to prevent "wall of ChartBuddy"s during slow periods.
1431  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: May 21, 2021, 04:08:45 PM

Luv yer work chartbuddy but this shit is retarded

Hmm. Maybe he is a little behind. Things got tweaked when he was running every three hours a while back. Let me check.

Uh, yeah. Scale down the right is correct. He's just running a couple of hours slow.
1432  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 21, 2021, 02:27:18 PM

 Roll Eyes

If that caused this new dip, I guess we haven't shaken out all the weak-hand noobs yet. Maybe just the traders hoping for a bit of front-running?
1433  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 21, 2021, 02:25:44 PM
Actually, if they were smart they'd work on destroying humanity. Every breath we make is killing the climate.

They're on it. 👍

I'd like to know bitcoin efficiency vs the trucks and SUVs sitting in the drive-through at all the banks in my town. Let alone for the banking infrastructure itself.

Hasn't anyone made an infographic for this bullshit yet?
1435  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 21, 2021, 12:48:38 AM
By the way, getting back to price discussion a bit.. sure, I understand that the price could go either way..,. but to me, it seems that we are largely in rebounding mode, currently.  I personally would like to suggest that if we do get more DOWNity from here, then likely some of the motivation for that would be to really beat up on some of the shitcoins. they deserve to be beat up quite a bit, especially after the amount of pumpening pure crap had been seeing in the past couple of weeks.

As long as we are not back in something like that never-ending bear market we had before where any long, slow upward gains at all were always answered with a quick tumble but the general outlook was a perpetual slump.

Could be though.

Also note: the lop-sidedness of this particular seemingly too short of a deadline vote remains quite apparent, it is almost as lopsideness of the logic of the blocksize debate.. (had to get a lil dig in there at Richy_T) go figure..

It was just a quick straw poll. Didn't want to make a huge production of it. I was just heading out to play in the pool for the first time and was planning on coming back in at 5 Cheesy
1437  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chartbuddy Yes on: May 20, 2021, 10:52:28 PM
Wait a minute, ChartBuddy.  I am in Central time too!  Somewhat south of OK.

Central is a huge timezone. When I worked for a national company, seemed like I was always talking to people on Central. It goes all the way to the very west of texas except for the very tip of the west of the state which caused me some hassle a while back.
1438  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chartbuddy Yes on: May 20, 2021, 10:50:17 PM
Agree.  And I do not think counting multiples from a single source is fair.  Just an aggregate of unique posters.  I did give 10 merits.  So I am speaking against any advantage given by that.  But I also see it as worth 10 merits.  I understand not everyone feels it, but I thin CB is a strong net positive.

I could have gone with max 1 but I did want to give anyone who felt strongly about it the chance to be heard. I was half expecting Arriemoller to drop 500 merits Cheesy
1439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chartbuddy Yes on: May 20, 2021, 10:46:50 PM
I'll have Chartbuddy merit everyone back on both posts (up to 200 merits total)

Don't merit back... this kind of merit "trading" is usually frowned upon since merit is supposed to be used for good posts, not to pay someone back.

Come to think of it, even voting via merit is kinda sketchy but at least those yes/no posts could arguably be considered "good".

Haha, you all fell for my huge merit-harvesting scam!

J/K. Just didn't want people out of merits on this. Chartbuddy has plenty of merits to spare too. Merits only get half-credits as well so it's not zero sum. I went for merits because they actually have some (marginal) value and I think voting tends to work best when people have skin in the game.

Though I have one complain...   PLEASE let xhomerx10 gear/HAT chartbuddy up and Gogogogo

Before xhomerx10 starts warming up his tablet, I'll just point out that Chartbuddy is overdue for a makeover so anything based on the current avatar will likely be short-lived. Also I'm quite particular that the red/green blue eyes are correctly arrayed.
