Signature Codes for popular Currencies

This was an idea I got when thinking "What it would have been if Vitalik organised a signature campaign in this forum for Ethereum?"  Cheesy

Signatures has been mostly popular in Bitcointalk due to the campaigns and ICO's created every day. Almost most of the members have joined signature campaigns and advertise the coin/token and receive some payment in return. If you are not a campaign participant and would like to support the popular currencies, here are some of the signature sets I have designed for Bitcoin and Ethereum to be used in your signature space. I will try to add more signature sets of top 10 coins in CoinMarketCap and if you feel like supporting a coin, feel free to comment below with the Coin name and I would try to make a signature for you.

The signatures has been designed based on the restrictions present in the forum. So you can wear them based on your ranks.

1442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Geth vs Parity on: May 11, 2018, 01:30:44 PM
No use of bumping the thread. None will reply to your posts as there are spammers floating in this Board who have no knowledge in crypto and won't reply to any technical posts. Both Geth and Parity are really helpful in customer's perspective.

Here are some of the

Pros and Cons of a Parity Node :

Pros

1. It helps you to get full control over the blockchain and understand ins and outs of a transaction occurring on the ethereum network. It has a good user interface which helps newbies to create a wallet easily.

2. Warp sync which is an equivalent to Geth's Fast sync has an added advantage to Parity because it helps us to sync the blockchain easily within hours by first syncing the lighter ones and then going on with larger ones.

3. Passive sync mode of Parity helps us to reduce the load created by the network on the hashes of block data commonly known as leaf node.

4. For simple users, it helps them to create a strong password and keeping the mnemonic phrase safely.

Cons

1. Parity was compromised to HACKS where a hacker stole over $31 million due to multi-signature code. There is really no authentication to open the node, anyone who can access your computer can go through the node.

2. Using Parity to pay for an ICO is cumbersome and difficult to handle.

3. Sometimes they are poor in connection and suddenly they are turned off during syncing etc.

I have never read of Geth Nodes, but you can find some key points here
1443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is a given function on an Ethereum smart contract executed? on: May 09, 2018, 03:58:49 PM

Ok, I understand it, that is without the permission of the owner of each token I will never be able to destroy them, right?
As far as I have read about basics of solidity, You won't be able to destroy

My doubt was whether the creator of the contract could burn tokens of any account but, according to what you told me the creator always have to be authorized to do that like any other address.

This authorization must be approved through the aproval () function afterwards it is possible to execute burnFrom () or transferFrom () is that correct?

Code:
function approve(address _spender, uint256 _value) returns (bool success) {
        allowed[msg.sender][_spender] = _value;
        Approval(msg.sender, _spender, _value);
        return true;
    }

Yes you may probably be right . Or I might be wrong with this explanation now...
If you are the creator of tokens and the smart contract, you have full authorization to use the approve() function. Unless you are a individual it's a big NO.

approve() function allows the spender of tokens or another smart contract  to just ask for a withdrawal from a account any number of times, until the tokens balances are exhausted. Here address_spender is the address of the contract. If the return statement is TRUE, then it will invoke receiveapproval() function.

Here is an example which I have quoted from ethwiki for your reference on how does a smart contract work!

https://theethereum.wiki/w/index.php/ERC20_Token_Standard#How_Does_A_Token_Contract_Work.3F

Just check the link, it might be very helpful to you and may solve your doubts to an extent...

My goal is to create a token and distribute it and after burn them. I suppose that each token holder should send me their tokens this way I can burn those tokens. I want to do it in this way to understand how smart contract works.

Why are you trying this in real time? You may use github to practice and learn here : https://ethereum.github.io/browser-solidity/#version=soljson-v0.4.11+commit.68ef5810.js

Quote
The simplest thing would be to send all of them to 0x0 address as you tell me.
No, it would just be invaluable and you cannot use those tokens anytime in future. If you really want to burn and destroy them, then I have answered you above about it.

1445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is a given function on an Ethereum smart contract executed? on: May 08, 2018, 12:57:07 PM
What's your main goal?
Do you need to completely destroy all the tokens present in all addresses and make your total token value to zero? If yes then you need to get the permission of the owner of the tokens and you need to change the value of tokens present in the wallet and you need to subtract the value you burned from the wallet.

For changing the value present in wallet you can use the following code

Code:
function demint(address owner, uint amount) {
    balances[owner] -= amount;
    totalSupply -= amount;
}

If you are the owner of tokens, move them to null address or simply called a zero address 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 as the tokens cannot be used neither by you nor by anyone.

Yes you can execute the burn() function if you are the owner of the contract provided you have the address list, but it's too cumbersome to carry out this task.

Hope this helps.
1446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is a given function on an Ethereum smart contract executed? on: May 08, 2018, 09:28:26 AM
A burn() function is basically used to burn some unsold tokens after the ICO sale in a smart contract. Burn() can be used only when the tokens are present in the smart contract wallet. If you need to destroy all the tokens of even the tokens holders, then it would be impossible or you need to keep an index of all the addresses having your tokens. If you have the list of addresses holding your tokens, then you can perform this task.

If you need to burn the tokens in a contract, try using burn(address _from, uint _value) and burnFrom(address _from, uint _value)
1447  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: ASIC vs microprocessor on: May 07, 2018, 05:03:46 PM
First miners started mining with GPU, THEN mining with CPU became way more difficult.  Difficulty adjusts to keep block rate near 10 minutes.  Since GPU could calculate many more hashes per second than CPU, the difficulty needed to increase to slow down blocks.
I can't get your point! Did you mean that even before the difficulty increased, miners started mining with GPU? If that's the case, how fast it was to mine btc with gpu than with cpu during those early days? Did miners just use gpu to solve the blocks faster and get rewards easily? Thanks for the correction!
1448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The maximum number of coins in BC 0.8? on: May 06, 2018, 06:11:42 PM
Thank you, but I'm not talking about this.

Suppose I set a reward of 1.000.000 per block.

Than
Code:
static const int64 MAX_MONEY = 1000000000000 * COIN;

Will this number (1000000000000) exceed the maximum allowed?
No. MAX_MONEY constant will prevent us to from doing a transaction not more than 1000000000000 . Max_Money has nothing to do with supply, it will just check weather the transaction is valid and is the transaction not more than the maximum coins.  Your rewards (1 million) are for the initial blocks, it would decrease as years pass by and the final coin count will be surely less than 1000000000000 (considering your case)
1449  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: ASIC vs microprocessor on: May 06, 2018, 04:22:35 PM
Both ASIC and a microprocessor are Integrated circuits. But a microprocessor is designed for handling all sorts of computational activities whereas an ASIC is designed only for carrying out a specific task. Let me try to break down in simple terms...

ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) is basically a silicon chip where thousands of mining algorithm are printed onto them to carry out mining activity in an effective and faster way. As bitcoin mining increased in difficulty and lots and lots of miners came into existence during the 2012 era, mining with CPU was considered way more difficult than they expected and it was very tough to mine a single btc and it consumed long days. Hence to prevent this situation,  miners started using GPU instead of microprocessor.

Asic are very powerful and solved more than what combined microprocessor did in 2011. Though asic need enormous power to run them and are lot more expensive than microprocessor, they do give out results at a fair rate. Asic most probably doesn't have a arithmetic and logic unit.
1450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To build a block chain.. on: May 06, 2018, 09:18:04 AM
To build a blockchain you need to understand the core concepts of one and how to build one using a code. You need to be basically very good in programming concepts and need to have knowledge in at least 1 programming language. A blockchain can be built in Cpp, Java, python etc. If you need to build a smart contract, you need solidity.  Your unique concept needs to address the problems prevailing in the community and if your concept solves all the problems, your coin would develop in price and you would get a lot of potential investors. If you are not a dev, then you need to hire a good dev for building a blockchain. You need to decide if you need to launch an ICO by pre-mining the coins by yourself!

A concept is not one which could be realised tomorrow, you need ample time to decide upon the problems and need to study a lot. First, you need to build a community of investors who would believe in you and invest in your project. Hire a good advisor who may help you in long term planning. If you successfully implement the long term roadplan, your coin would boom in the market.
1451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nano Withdraw from Hitbtc? on: May 04, 2018, 04:12:38 PM
Most of the users have been constantly moaning that hitbtc exchange might be a Scam or they have lost their money while holding or trading them on hitbtc. Hence I have never used the exchange and will never try to use them for sure. Some users on this forum came with a similar complaint and have not got past through many times. I am not saying this to scare you, but it's the truth with this particular exchange. Hence if you had got access through your wallet successfully, transfer all your nano to a safer wallet and stop visiting the exchange. To be sure, there are lot more good exchanges to exchange or trade your nano.

Some of the possible alternatives I suggest which could solve your currency operation error :

1. Since you are dealing with Nano, I have checked the status of the currency in this page. This exchange has a webpage for tracking the system health of a particular currency and going by Nano we can see that you cannot Transfer or Withdraw your currency. You can just trade the currency going by the current maintenance period. Just wait for the maintenance to get over and take off the currency completely from the exchange.

2. A rare case : Someone might have gained access through your account and changed your password. If your mail has been compromised, hacker might get access to your wallet. To prevent this, the so called secured system of hitbtc locks your account temporarily until you initiate the password recovery request. You can receive the notification for password change in your account. If you hadn't requested for one, try contacting the hitbtc team.

Hope these suggestions help you.  Smiley

I have used my template for writing the Truegame Article and there are very few similarities in the way I wrote the previous article and truegame and I have just used the intro of previous article , but isn't it considered to be original?

Just the intros are similar, I have read the whitepaper of truegame completely and wrote a whole different article with my template. Can you reconsider the article by reading them completely or is it just rejected?

Ah! I have never heard of such a coin anywhere. Once you mentioned about it, I searched for them.  Roll Eyes

I actually need nodes of a POS Coin named BOSON and can't find any explorer online, just none.
There are some of the nodes mentioned in the announcement thread of BOSON  Grin (The name looks quite funny man.) But you have tried all the possible nodes and just got 2 connections. I doubt that is the coin dead without devs.

The getaddr sends a request to a node asking for more active nodes. I have just studied about getaddr() will help us to request for more nodes. But I haven't used as I don't require one, hence I can't help you out with this issue.  Huh
1456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LIST NODES OF ANY CRYPTOCURRENCY on: May 02, 2018, 04:16:36 AM
If you need the list of nodes for any given coin, you can visit the block explorers of the particular coin. Block explorers help us to get basic details on the node lists, transactions, balance in a particular address. You can use cryptoid for getting the list of nodes. For example Dash, a popular POS coin has nodes such as this. Here you can check for the node count, shares present with each node and the wallet balances etc. Here is an announcement in bitcointalk made for cryptoid.

Similarly, you can get the list of nodes by requesting the peers you have connected with by using the getaddr() function. If the peers help you out in listing more peers, you can request the peers of peers for more nodes for you to connect with. Here is a list of nodes for Dash to get added in addnode function.
1457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is anyone else wondering just what the hell happened to Altcoin Discussion? on: May 01, 2018, 05:57:32 PM
Bitcoin Discussion and Altcoin Discussion are dead and spammed to the core because of these signatures. These spamming idiots never participate in campaigns organised by ALU, yahoo or any other good managers. They fear to participate as they would be tagged red for spamming with their signatures. Some suggestions for improving the forum

1. Never allow Newbies,Jr,Members to start a new topic.

2. Auto-lock topics if they reach more than 500 replies to prevent spams.

3. Report the post as when anyone see them.

4. If you spend a decent time, use the patrol feature present in this forum.

Never force yourself to reply to a topic for completing signature task.
If these are taken into consideration, the forum can be saved in the near future. This forum is going in a wrong way, it needs to be saved soon.
1458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we know specific bitcoin is stolen goods? on: May 01, 2018, 07:51:30 AM
You can't track btc. It's anonymous and is developed for being anonymous. Moreover people use mixing services so that their coins won't get tracked. We don't need a KYC for creating a wallet, but when we need to exchange them we need a KYC. The public ledger so called blockchain is pretty difficult for criminals to hide with their money. The guy who needs to sell may be in a tough situation for immediate money or he might be afraid to sell such a huge money so that he might be caught with law enforcement.

Unless you are sure with the guy, buy them.
1459  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: April 30, 2018, 05:54:43 PM
Question: What exactly is BIP 75?
BIP0075 is basically an upgrade of the BIP0070 suggested by Gavin and Mike. Before explaining BIP 75, we need to understand what is a Payment Protocol?

A payment protocol is basically a communication method between a sender and receiver of coins. The communication method is a human understandable payment destinations where the receiver will authorize the payment. This proposal most probably prevents the man in the middle attack and the sender receives a "Payment received" message to conform the transaction. Additionally refund addresses are also generated.

These protocol options has a disadvantage that it cannot be used for peer to peer payments. But BIP0075 solves this by encrypting the communication end to end. This protocol also allows the sender to validate the identity of the receiver and a user friendly transaction is thus created.
1460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is exactly POS? on: April 30, 2018, 05:03:39 AM
I was pretty off the week, that's the reason why I can't comment on the post.

There are 2 common implementations of POS. One is which I mentioned above and Peercoin uses the above implementation of mixed POS and POW.
As going through general terms, the one who has highest stake of coins can mine has maximum possibility to determine the next block. But we may wonder that if a person has around 50% of coins he may have higher chance of finding the block.

That's not true! These chances are prevented by different types of block selection. One is the randomization of blocks and other is the age of coins being held in your wallet. If you hold your coin more than any others then you may solve the block. Once when the block has been solved the age reverts to zero and you need to start from the first. This process secures the network and a decentralized network is created.
