Indeed it isn't ideal, but here it's a decision of whether to go for ideology here versus accuracy. While I understand it's a Bitcoin forum, if they aren't paying in Bitcoin...

If you really want to, it might be worth making a separate table for signature campaigns which pay out based on USD if more of them come out.
I rather have one thread to rule them all and accuracy, so if needed, I'll let go of my ideology and just add dollars to the table.
In my opinion I think it'll be nice to have it under extra information. So I voted **.
Just because the reason of they aren't paying in bitcoin, rather in USD.
1442  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Auction] RAVENBIT *ORANGE LABEL* BRASS NODE 1 OF 6 on: November 04, 2015, 05:41:35 PM
Here we go.  Smiley
So for the price of shipping... can that come down to like $6 at whatever exchange rate Cheesy

Also if anyone outbids, I probably wouldn't bid higher.
1443  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you think signature Campaigns will still continue when btc goes $800 ? on: November 04, 2015, 05:38:57 PM
Hey guys , this is the latest example about what we are talking  here. Check out this topic of a signature Campaign. Topic link = https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1237314.0

They are now offering $0.20 ( 0.0004040 Btc / post to senior members ). Its all bcoz of bit coin prices went up.

That's a nice idea to control the payrate at this kind of situation but then what if bitcoin has suddenly drop right on schedule of the sig. campaigns payout?
To my understanding all payments will be calculated to the price of btc at the time of payment with Magical Dice.
1444  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: what impact does the recent price increase has towards signature payments. on: November 04, 2015, 05:33:57 PM
I think it will be case by case scenario as the sites being advertised over here are from multiple categories like bitcoin card provider, gambling sites, bitcoin mixers etc. So the impact of the price increase on their profit will be different so they will do differ adjustments. But i doubt any one will be paying higher if their competitor are paying lower so ultimately making decrease in signature payout.
NO, not really ,some campaign or manager's who are happy with their campaign's are not going to do utilize this shitty opportunity .
fortune jack,777 havent decreased the pay's.

Well in the end I believe it comes down to what type of business they are running. As well as how the campaign is structured whether it be a fixed rate, or a post rate.

If you are a gambling site using straight btc, then you probably should not adjust rates. But there is one big change that happens, as btc goes up I believe people will be less likely to gamble it. It all depends on the gamblers.
Although if BTC goes to $1,000 or $10,000 that is $1.00 and $10.00 per post respectively.

If you are a site using fiat (exchanges), then YES. You would not be able to afford to pay people if btc rates go through the roof.

That's just my two bits.
1445  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: November 04, 2015, 05:26:43 PM
I can't accepted that in my overview table. It will fuck up the whole design and made it unnecessarily wide (and it's already really wide). I would go with the ** as special conditions do apply to this campaign (aka. payout pegged to USD instead of Bitcoin).

Darn too bad there isn't a just BTC numbers option. But makes sense since the payouts are on a floating point system, to have them included in the extra info.

Bitcoin sure is making auctions difficult lol

I'd do 0.15 Cheesy

How will the USD/BTC value be calculated?
When will the people from old campaign receive the payment?

This question should be answered in the OP so you don't get too many of these.

But Here's the answer, lurking 2 posts above yours
Yahoo I have a question before I join back in.

When is the price of bitcoin being used to calculate payouts in this campaign? At the time of payouts, or at the beginning of the week?

itll be calculated when i do the payments on the 7th. Really doesnt matter though itll be the same amount of money in usd value no matter the btc price.

I try to keep my btc tied to btc. It only matters to me because I want a good paying campaign that keeps it in btc. I mean if the value of btc tanks, I probably would come back just because @ almost 500 is a lot different than 0.001 at 200.

To all the haters of the campaign, this is just business. It was bound to happen. If btc hits $1,000 would you be willing to pay $1.00 a post out of pocket?

It was fun working with you, best of luck to the campaign yahoo.

Edit: To receive full payment will I have to wear my sig until the 7th?

thats a really cool design going to play this game for a while

Not only cool design, but also the bets are very fast there compared to other dice sites, and you can have 500 sats from their faucet every 3 minutes.

Glad you like it Smiley MD2 should be ready within a few weeks, new features/new faucet/new design/extremely competitive affiliate program and more. We will also be doing a ton of giveaways on launch which will last a few weeks!

Hopefully you're all as excited as we are! Tongue

this is great features for the new MD2, this could lead the site massive traffic specially for the highrollers to play on the site. looking forward for the affiliate program tho Smiley

RECRUIT ALL THE PEEPS! Cheesy

I just wonder if we can run the affiliate program into our signature, if that'd be cool for signature campaign peeps.
1452  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Casascius MS68 Silver Set on: November 04, 2015, 06:20:01 AM
I respectfully disagree but I always appreciate getting other perspectives. Here's my take. None of these coins have been handled. Most are absolutely mint because they've gone directly from roll to case.
-
-
To the OP - thanks for entertaining the discussion, we're keeping your thread on top of the first page of the board!
With your statement about the coins being handled, I sold a handled coin (Click here) for lower than what it would have been if it were pristine. (I bought the coin from someone else.) Yes there are many people that did roll to case, but there were people that did not with the cas brass coins. Nowadays most, if not everyone, should be doing roll to case, or kept in roll or other protective enclosures for Bitcoin coins as well as fine metal coins.

I don't think ANACS is doing  ANY "extensive work" to grade coins. They're  just getting extensively paid by all of us sending in our coins. And all we get is a hope that we end up with a grader that got laid last night and is in a good mood, handing out high grades.
ANACs doing extensive work? Well I may have misstated that. From what I have heard, multiple people at ANACs grade the same coin, then the grade is determined by the multiple "experts / judges / robots that are stealing the private key off the back of coins / people".

Someone once wrote here  that  they don't even consider the quality of the sticker in their assessment - that's half the coin (and the one thing that could be easily looking mint or looking askew). It's interesting that I can pay  about BTC0.1 to get a coin graded and expect 8 times return on that expense. I mean, it's great for the seller but it's kind of fucked up, no?
Well to the sticker part, I believe that is true. I heard the same information.

But the 8 times return on expense is the risk the owner of the coin takes. In the coin trading world a higher quality coin is hard to get, depending on strikes of the coins, handling, and many more variables (*I believe but should be corrected if wrong). There were some series of coins that graded at a low chance of being perfect, while loads of them were graded at 68s and 69s.

That's just what I have seen anyways. But great to bounce thoughts off each other.
1453  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Casascius MS68 Silver Set on: November 04, 2015, 03:34:50 AM
How much do you think the ANACS stamp of approval adds to the price, what premium does ANACS command  for Casascius coins?

I have the set you're selling, I just don't have it graded. But honestly, most of these coins are of top quality. Were any really circulated to show wear or decrease mint value?

Good luck with your sale, I'm sure you'll do fantastic!

ANACS does extensive work to grade coins. I have seen anywhere from ms-64's to ms-69s sold publicly with some ms-70s being sold privately (blazed's 0.1 silver).

The grade on the coin determines markup normally. A ms-68 will be less than an ms-69, I believe on silver singles it can range anywhere from 0.2-0.8BTC depending on the sellers available.

Some people even crack open lower grades that they evaluate and try to get the luck of the draw from ANACs. For some it pays off. It all varies.

Just take a look at auctions and sales within the last 6 months to try and gauge market prices.

And EOD if I am hijacking or off-topic, you can ask for me to remove this post.
1454  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: [ANN] MinerFarm - Virtual Mining Game for Real Bitcoin on: November 04, 2015, 03:14:22 AM
If you ran the numbers and realize the ROI is 100-180 days, where is aliser getting the money from after this?
You're all being played for fools, this is one of the most obvious ponzi schemes I've ever seen.

You do realize he runs like 4-5 other faucets as well and ad revenue must be pretty good because the game is still running.

I mean sure he could run off with it if he really wanted to. Do I expect someone to lose credibility at this point running this many websites? Not really. It takes time and effort to run a faucet because you are on the edge with payouts having to be covered by ad revenue.

It takes time to establish a rep, and I understand this because it has taken many trades and agreements with other users.

But hey it is your opinion, and this is my opinion. So far I have ROI'd about 20% since I started a month ago.

1456  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: [ANN] MinerFarm - Virtual Mining Game for Real Bitcoin on: November 03, 2015, 05:22:07 AM
What happens if I deposit some amount, and change my deposit address before the transaction completed?

Even if you change the deposit address, transaction that has been sent to your previous deposit address completes successfully.

Hey aliser, can we get a quote from you? Hopefully something along the lines of "MinerFarm is not a ponzi scheme and the money invested is actually being invested elsewhere".

Because right now you seem to be answering other questions and dodging this one... shady
I think its not a ponzi. I believe he maybe investing in some kind of investment that secure? As now the site are running well and pay always, still not sure until when this will alive. But hopefully long live for this.
And Alister kind enough to give new member 10ghs for free to test this.. this is the nice step.

I think the concept of the game is, advertising revenue and people buying stuff from the shop help pay for the blocks people find as well as server costs. Since this is a virtual game, this "bitcoin network" is stored inside a game. I wouldn't think it is a cloud mining scam because it clearly states on the homepage

"MinerFarm is a simulation game that works like cloud mining systems."

and to this point I can wrap my head around the idea.

The 10gh/s is to help people grab a feel of the game. This 10 gh doesn't exist in reality.
Then the faucet helps people accumulate more btc to buy better upgrades. It is a low payout, and doesn't surprise me.

So lets list this out

Keys to Understand
  • This game is advertised as a virtual simulation of bitcoin mining
  • This game allows you to withdraw your coins at any time
  • This game allows you to sell your hardware to other users, in-turn you get some or all your money back
  • This game is roughly equivalent to real BTC mining, the more hashrate in the game, the harder to get btc.
  • I ran the math about a month ago to have the results of this:
Also compared to bitcoinwisdom having a number of 826 satoshi per gh per day, you get roughly 650 satoshi per gh per day on the game. That doesn't really bother me at all, because it is a faucet game.

The ROI on the otherhand is pretty on par as you get up to like 100+gh miners. It is roughly 100-180 days to ROI in-game.

Just my two cents.
1457  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: lucullus Scammed Me on: November 02, 2015, 06:50:21 PM
I would be willing to remove my negative trust whenever I am paid back by "lucullus" I don't care if it's a new owner.. I just need the money I'm owed.
Hero Accounts can easily make .05/Week just from a signature campaign... I've seen people making .2 from Sr.Member accounts in one week from signature campaigns.

Unemployed or not it would have been as easy as posting a few times in a campaign..
I try to keep up to date on my trust list, I switched my trust last night to a neutral. I have done this before when I comb through my sent feedback and see someone looking a little red.

Hopefully you get your funds back. Either way with bitcoin price jumps, you should still have the decency to honor agreements you make. Its karma, and boy it can help you. I found that out today when changing a flight with United, they waived the $200 change fee.
1458  Economy / Gambling / Re: After losing all your Bitcoin on: November 02, 2015, 06:40:55 PM
Quit gambling you idiot ! Get all your bitcoins in to an alt coin Im putting all mine in DigiCube. GEt 1000 Cube earn 50 a day through staking make 0.1+ a day for leaving computer on.

Most alt-coins nowadays are a gamble. Even if you stake coins, who's to say they will still have the same btc value as when you bought them? Or if you are mining them you still are using your electricity.

Because alt-coins are just there to be like hey we got a cool name. Most, if not all are now just ico scams, developers not continuing development on coins, and just copies of every other coin deployed out there.

I think the odds are better dicing than making a lot off an alt-coin. Only recent coin I played with was unbreakable coin back in December to February. It was amazing to mine it, then everyone dumped it, ran with what they could. It has been waiting for a block adjustment for 9 months and counting now. It had a difficulty about half of Bitcoin's difficulty at the time I believe.
1459  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread oct 29th to Nov 12th picks are open!! With a bonus reward. on: November 02, 2015, 07:35:49 AM
does this fix it? been drinking watching the world series so my math can slip a bit.

-0.2         -0.20 to -0.11
-0.1         -0.10 to -0.01
 0.0        +0.00 to +0.09
+0.1       +0.10 to +0.19
+0.2       +0.20 to +0.29

those are all equal correct?

I think they are. It's a bit less convenient on the negative side since you have to remember that -0.2 goes to -0.11 and not to -0.29 but we're less likely to use those negative ranges so we should be ok.

what about like zero is a double prize again, but then it would go

-0.2     -0.2 to -0.11
-0.1     -0.1 to -0.01
0          0
0.1       0.01 to 0.1
0.2       0.11 to 0.2

thus simplifying it
