I don't watch many animes nowadays since Ben 10 took my heart away (what's with the poetic language??) but I still like Ouran High school Host Club, Fate/Stay Night, Naruto (both the first one and Shippuden), and Yakitate Ja-pan
1442  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Society thoughts on cyberbullying, what do you think? on: May 15, 2014, 01:14:24 PM
Cyber bullying needs to be controlled because victims are people who take everything seriously and are personally wounded by it.
I think we need more education about cyber bullying, in schools, colleges and for parents of children of that age. Parents are often unaware that it's happening and need to know the signs to look for. Children and teens need to be taught how to deal with it, by reporting it immediately and stop using the site or the forum where it is happening.
It's a sad fact that there are real world consequences of cyberbullying. It's very unfortunate that kids go through it. However, to an extent, many kids set themselves up for it. Kids today are willing to put their entire lives online for people to look at. If we can somehow teach kids to separate their online lives and their Internet persona, and then take additional steps to protect their online identity, we'd see a lot less of this. That's not going to fix anything in real life, but it'd make the Internet a lot more safe.

Does the Vatican accept Bitcoin?
I don't know if Vatican accepts bitcoin ,but i saw on the news that  Father Adaly Rosado Jr. from the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Goshen, NY decided to put a virtual currencies donation button on the parish’s website. Since Pope Francis consider alien our brothers ,he should embrace bitcoin with open arms too.

Too much pussification on this earth. You can't run around complaining of how your government runs your life for you when you get all teary eyed over someone tapping away on their keyboard. Grow up and deal with life.
C'mon, you've never gotten the least bit offended by repeated personal attacks from trolls yourself, or even just general trolling at other boards? What if they followed you around to other websites after you left one, trolled your facebook and business webpages, harassed your friends / family / clients, etc?
I've never had repeated attacks towards myself, I'm maybe not too interesting as nobody's following me around the web, nobody on the web knows my family or friends.....did I answer them all?
Well, the point is that probably no one with anything to lose would be so unconcerned or tough or macho if / when trolls moved beyond just repeatedly trolling them 20 hours a day on one website, and went on to following them to other sites (happened to myself and others), and even screwing with them, their friends, family, clients / business, etc (happened to others I know of) in real life.
As one guy on another site put it "Let's see how tough you are when they (a former nuthouse patient) find your 12 year old daughter's facebook page".

I have no Facebook page, nor any other social media page. My life is not that empty, lonely and sad that I feel the need to tell everyone every time I take a shit or make a meal.

You missed the point and didn't answer all of my questions.

It will probably be another 5-10 years before its owned by the mass but  the company is already beginning the job of making the public comfortable with the futuristic vehicles.

The doctor breaks the news to you and you have maybe 30 days to live.

How will you invest that time? Will you spend it with loves ones....Or maybe continue working to keep your mind off of it?

Will your sanity break? What regrets will fill your mind?

You have wasted more than 30 days in your life just taking a piss. Considering that the timer starts now.

29D:23H:59M:58S  left.
We should always live as if we had only 30 days to live. We have to give, love, forgive like there is no tomorrow. We have to take action daily and live in peace and harmony.
1451  Other / Off-topic / Re: Favourite Game of Thrones character? on: May 15, 2014, 09:34:39 AM
Daenerys Targaryen. She's probably one of the best characters so far. She's very kind and sincere, and genuinely cares about people. (Unlike most characters, who are out for themselves.)
She does want the throne, but she doesn't want to step on everyone to get there. That's why she released the slaves, she wanted them to follow her because they wanted to.
1452  Other / Off-topic / Re: My Neighbor Fell for the "Grandson in Jail" Scam on: May 14, 2014, 06:01:48 PM
It's very sad when these scammers prey on the old and the vulnerable. Just shameless.  Angry
A recent study by the American Association of Retird Persons (AARP) highlighted characteristics of people older than 50 that make them easy targets for financial abuse. In general, they: expect honesty in the marketplace, are less likely to take action when defrauded, and are less knowledgeable about their rights in an increasingly complex marketplace. And as people over 50 are more likely to be home than their younger neighbors, they are often within easy reach of devious telemarketers and home solicitors.
1453  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Society thoughts on cyberbullying, what do you think? on: May 14, 2014, 05:00:33 PM
I think that the online world should stay as free as possible, so as much as I dislike that people can be as arrogant and mean online as they want without ramifications, I still would side with the argument that the term cyber bullying is just another building block towards censorship. I do realize that words are powerful, even online, but I think it should be the parents' responsibility to raise people who are secure enough to just walk away or close the window or even block people, as I think it's just highly impractical to keep telling everyone to "stop being mean online".
What do you guys think? Should cyberbullying be considered as legitimate even though you can just easily close the browser when someone is being mean, or is there just something to the other side of the argument that people are missing?
I concur with the thought that the online world should stay free, freedom really means nothing if there aren't any reasonable restrictions on it. Part of a person's freedom is to be free from persecution, and allowing cyber-bullying to continue is a violation of that. Considering the fact that our lives are becoming increasingly dependent on the internet, I don't see why cyber-bullying should be treated any different from  bullying.
Bullying is another overused word. Much like Bigot is overused. A troll is not a bully it is a person that probably has a low self esteem and tries to make others feel bad to make themselves feel better.

Cyber bullying is no different from bullying. It should be treated like defamation legally. People forget that sometimes, it's not fists or bullets that hurt more but words. The pen may be one of the most formidable weapons and I've seen lives around me destroyed due to bullying, fake gossip, and the such. It should be treated as a serious crime no doubt.

nice kiddo. kids nowadays are really advance when it comes to technology. Cheesy

And I don't know if that is a good sign. Too much technology since the day they were born and one power surge will make them hopeless. You should not depend on technology too much in my opinion.
Moderation is key. I am definitely against the modern obsession with trying to make sure that kids are "never bored". TV/PC/Consoles at home, video screens in the car, smart-phones and hand-held game systems everywhere else; it's ridiculous. Developmentally, it is very important that kids get bored from time to time.
1455  Other / Off-topic / Re: My Neighbor Fell for the "Grandson in Jail" Scam on: May 14, 2014, 02:26:31 PM
I post this because I would like for you to warn any old people you know about this creative scam.

Yesterday morning I noticed a couple of police sedans at my elderly neighbor's house across the street.  In the afternoon I inquired if everything was okay.

My neighbor told me scam artists took him for $10,700.  This is a sharp old man who was an engineer for a large manufacturing corporation, and Korean a war veteran. He's no fool.  He does not suffer from Alzheimer's or anything.

The scammers called Saturday morning and pretended to be his grandson who is away at college.  "Grandson" told the old man he was in jail for being drunk at a party the night before, and needed bail money because his parents were out of town.

The scammers called several times, sometimes pretending to be the police, sometimes an attorney.  They had the old man run up his credit cards, and send them cash via Moneygram.  The old man became suspicious and managed to get hold of the boy on his cell phone at 2:00 am, but it was too late.

The FBI and local detectives told the old man he will not get his money back, and the odds of catching the thieves are low.

These things seem like urban legends until they happen to someone you care about.  Please warn any old folks you know about this "grandchild in jail" scam.
I hear about this kind of thing all the time! Seems like elder people are a constant target of scammers.
1456  Other / Politics & Society / Re: An complete argument for same-sex marriages. You can't prove it wrong on: May 14, 2014, 01:07:57 PM
Don't people see farther down the road? 50-100 years ago, homosexuality was viewed on nearly the same level as pedophilia, and there were very little to no rights for gays. Now gays are accepted in the public eye. How long before pedophiles start marching for rights, and the "progressives" (read liberals) side with them. The argument for why gayness was persecuted in the past is that we were not ready for it or something along those lines. I don't want to see the day when all kinds of perversions are accepted. It needs to stop somewhere.

Yes. Let's ban all sorts of sex except missionary position because anything else is just perverse  Roll Eyes. Being gay is not perverse. Your opinions are. Comparing homosexuality to paedophilia is a ridiculous comparison. Laws were just fucked up back in the day because they were based on ignorance, intolerance and biblical crap but we've moved past that now (or at least most decent people have).
Well if that is the case some people are naturally prone towards violent behavior. Should we allow violence? Others are naturally attracted towards children. Should we allow that? And yet others are easily addicted to things like drugs and alchohol yet we still take steps to shun such behavior. Are you saying because these are deep seated psychological issues we should allow them?

Are you actually saying being gay is because of 'deep seated psychological issues' and trying to compare consensual homosexuality with justifying someone beating another person up? Raping kids isn’t consensual. And regarding drugs, it shouldn't be any of the states business what an adult puts into their body, nor should it be where anyone wants to stick their dick.
What if that "anyone" sticks its dick into a 5 years old boy/girl?And later that boy decides to be gay ?Or the girl decides to like other girl just because a maniac sexually abused her when she was young? What if that child was you or what if that child is yours?

Do you actually read what I'm saying? Raping kids isn’t consensual is it? Keyword consensual. Stop being an idiot.

Yes i am idiot because nothing good will come from allowing and tolerance same-sex marriages!
1457  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine Crisis: US and Europe Plan to "Cut Off" Russia’s Gas Supply on: May 14, 2014, 12:59:45 PM
The Americans want the Europeans to import gas from their friends, the Arabs. Qatar recently invested so much money in to building LNG terminals, but their gas can't compete with the cheaper pipe-supplied Russian gas. So the Americans want to stop the supply of the Russian gas to Europe (and may be diverting it to China), and want to open up new markets for the Qatari and Saudi gas in Europe.
The plan to replace Russian oil and gas is more political spin that reality. The US shale gas boom is going bust - see GlobalResearch.org April 29, 2014, "Selling Hydraulic Fracking: The Myth of Energy Independence Used to Hoodwink the American People". The US did not have enough gas to supply itself this last winter. It does not have any surplus to export, nor the facilities to export gas in any quantity. LNG is available from other sources, but will require much investment in receiving facilities and pipelines, and will cost much more than Russian gas.
As for oil, the price is artificially high as the result of sanctions against Iran, invasion of Iraq, and invasion and destruction of the government in Libya. This has benefited the US oil majors, but has restricted world supply. Note that Russia has just announced a deal to take Iran's oil in exchange for food and goods, and deals with China to sell oil and gas. China will finance the necessary pipelines. Russia has recently doubled its pipeline capacity to its Pacific coast ports, to sell to Asia and the Pacific Rim.
It is wise for Europe to diversify its potential suppliers, but any quick turn away from Russian oil and gas supplies is a pipe dream.

1459  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Psychiatry's Reign Of Terror on: May 14, 2014, 12:34:46 PM
The fact that psychiatry is also allowed to define what constitutes "normal" behaviour and can deprive any of us of our freedom and subject us to involuntary treatments against our will is frightening. Is our society now moving to a point where psychiatric approved definitions of normality will be used exclusively for control purposes as a form of state sanctioned conditioning, to create total docility and submissiveness in the population. That was probably the goal all along.
1460  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US and Europe Plan to "Cut Off" Russia’s Gas Supply on: May 14, 2014, 12:09:03 PM
Do Russia really need to get their gas from elsewhere? Haven't they got massive reserves and production? I agree with you that it's only logical that they'd stop supplying gas if Ukraine aren't paying for it, but this silliness and games between America and Russia is only going to lead to escalation and isn't helping matters.
No,my mistake ,i didn't put the full title. Russia has enough gas reserve to give to others too. The news is about Europe not should depend totally on one supplier due the crisis in Ukraine.
