1441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH becoming the biggest leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin has no future. on: July 19, 2017, 03:00:07 PM
Hmm.. too many people commenting about the ETH market cap. It doesn't mean anything. The big players are keeping their ETH tokens away from the exchanges, thereby creating an artificial scarcity. That is the reason why the exchange rates, and the market cap is so high.
1442  Economy / Economics / Re: So, you want to be rich? All of you ? on: July 19, 2017, 02:55:11 PM
If you die rich that is not a problem anymore but if you die when you are poor it is your fault.

If you were born poor, then it is not a crime. But it is a crime to die poor.  Grin

Even for the most uneducated person, there are millions of opportunities around him to earn money. He should earn the money, invest them wisely and save some of that money for the future.
1443  Economy / Speculation / Re: John McAfee: Bitcoin will go above 500k $ in 3 years on: July 19, 2017, 02:50:11 PM
But 1000$ or 3000$ or 5000$ is a price that is possible with just some millions people putting some money into Bitcoin.

For 500000$ you'd need everyone putting money into it. Billions of users.

And that would certainly wreak havoc economically.

It's better we have the havoc first, then people turn to Bitcoin.

The vast majority of the world population have less than $1,000 in their bank accounts. If you consider the loan liability as well, then you can say that most of them have a negative cash inflow.
1444  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are my bitcoins safe in blockchain.info? on: July 19, 2017, 02:48:19 PM
Blockchain wallet is safe as long as you kept your password and the 12 words to recover your wallet offline. But it is more secure to get pc wallet with your parivate keys.

Are you sure about this? How can we recover our coins with the 12 word backup, if the Blockchain.info website closes down? Also, how to use the private key, which is in text format?
1445  Economy / Economics / Re: Your plans for 1st august? on: July 19, 2017, 02:46:08 PM
I don't know... I will make the decision on July 31. If the chances of a split are real, then I may move my coins to a desktop wallet such as Electrum. If the chances are minimal, then the coins will remain in my Blockchain.info wallet.
1446  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 19, 2017, 02:43:42 PM
I'm not an expert in these metals

All I can say is that palladium likely has a lot wider use in industry (for example, car making) than the other precious metals. This metal is known for its extremely high absorption capacity of hydrogen. This property allows to use the metal as a medium for efficient and safe hydrogen storage. Indeed, it may be not as efficient as liquid hydrogen itself, but I don't think many people would want to drive a car which can easily turn into a sort of "hydrogen" bomb, especially after someone actually gets blown up

Using Palladium for the storage of Hydrogen can be terribly expensive. Because it may require many ounces of Palladium, just to store enough Hydrogen to power the vehicle for 200 or 300 km. And considering the remaining Palladium reserves around the world, I have to say that they may be enough for only a few thousand vehicles at the most.
1447  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Elon Musk has called the greatest threat to human civilization on: July 19, 2017, 02:36:44 PM
finally something useful coming out of his mouth

Nope. As usual, only garbage is coming out. This guy is trying to instill fear in other people's mind about artificial intelligence. AI is not something which we should worry about. It can do a lot of wonders to the humanity. We need to realize that AI can help us in a big way in many fields, such as space exploration, defense, and medicine.

All of those benefits are definitely possible with AI; there's no doubt about that. But there is a risk in terms of whether it will have its own intent, or whether it will be a slave to humans. That is unknown at this point.

I completely agree with you. Artificial intelligence scares me. Even if we look at the history, not all of the scientific inventions have benefited the mankind. Nuclear weapons is a perfect example. I just hope that AI will not turnout as the next Frankenstein's monster.
1448  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The cia covert program to over throw assad on: July 19, 2017, 02:32:40 PM
Whatever the program the CIA had in Syria since 2011, has failed miserably. Assad is still in power, and he is stronger than ever before. The support which he received from Russia was crucial.
1449  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why are rich countries rich and poor countries poor? on: July 19, 2017, 02:30:38 PM
I think because of the leaders they had..Leaders of the rich countries have concern in the welfare of their countrymen..Leaders of the poor countries concern in the welfare of themselves..  Shocked

The citizens of any country usually gets the leaders whom they deserve. For example look at the African nations. Most of the leaders there are corrupt dictators. A part if the blame must go to wards the citizens as well, as they are too tolerant about these sort of leaders.
1450  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-17] Overstock Chairman: It’s ‘Crazy’ More Retailers Don’t Accept Bitcoi on: July 19, 2017, 05:55:41 AM
Overstock was perhaps the first international online retail site to accept Bitcoin, and its CEO was one of the most ardent supporters of the crypto-currency ever since 2013. They will be in a good deal of profit now, due to the price rise of BTC.
1451  Economy / Speculation / Re: John McAfee: Bitcoin will go above 500k $ in 3 years on: July 19, 2017, 05:51:56 AM
Going above 500k $ in 3 years seems so hard to happen , regarding the history of the Bitcoin's price, but it is not impossible, because expecting exactly the future of this market is really so hard.

Yes.. it will be very difficult. That would mean that the market cap of Bitcoin will be almost twice that of the gold. Or that can also mean that some 3% to 4% of the entire global wealth will be concentrated in the form of Bitcoin. Very hard to imagine such a scenario.
1452  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I cash out my BTC now? on: July 19, 2017, 05:45:32 AM
I think you have 2 choices. You can withdraw 50% of your assets now because the Bitcoin market is showing signs of going up or you can wait after August 1 to withdraw because we do not know if Bitcoin prices are up or down. The decision is up to you

I believe that right now the chances of a split are less than 10%. If everything goes smoothly on August 1, then the prices can increase steeply in the next 7-8 days. Who knows? We may even hit new peaks such as $5,000 per coin or $10,000 per coin. So it may not be a good idea to cash out your coins now, when the exchange rates are down.
1453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are my bitcoins safe in blockchain.info? on: July 19, 2017, 05:44:13 AM
I am also storing my coins in a Blockchain.info wallet. I have the 12 word seed, and private key in WIF format (saved in a text file). Are my coins safe in case of a split happens on August 1?
1454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should owners with BTC on Exchange do before Aug 1st? on: July 19, 2017, 05:31:39 AM
The best thing you can do is to just hold on to whatever you have and normally everything should be fine. The chances of bitcoin splitting are pretty low so I'm quite confident that won't happen. But hey, this is crypto so anything can happen. Just make sure you're holding everything in a compatible wallet.

So according to you, the chances of a split are quite low. A lot relieved to hear that. So if a split happens, will we have enough time to move our funds? Right now I am keeping my coins in a Blockchain.info wallet. I want to know whether I have enough time to move these coins to a desktop wallet, in case a split happens on August 1.
1455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to find a sig campaign? on: July 18, 2017, 06:27:44 AM
My advice would be to wait at least till you are promoted to the rank of a full member. As I can see, you are still some 3 months away from becoming a full member. Also, improve the quality of your posts, else even if you land a spot in any of the sig campaigns, they will quickly ban you.
1456  Economy / Reputation / Re: Regarding Negative Trust on: July 18, 2017, 06:25:18 AM
You can send a personal message to Vod, with sufficient evidence to prove that your account was hacked. Also, sign a message from your staked BTC address, and prove that you are still controlling your registered email ID. This happens all the time in this forum, so please don't worry about it. If what you are saying is true, then things will be sorted out in the next two or three days.
1457  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Handling splits: UASFs, BIP148, etc. on: July 18, 2017, 06:22:13 AM
as the price was decreasing i converted 20 btc to usd at 1910 then i though after august 1st i would buy again but now the price is increasing almost above 2200
i am thinking if i buy again and then if price decreases then again loss
What should i do now ?

Buy at 2200 ?
or wait for price drop ?
Sorry to hear that you get loss, but you chose wrong way. it's better to transfer your Bitcoin to your desktop wallet such as electrum desktop wallet.

How safe is the Electrum Desktop wallet? Is there any chance that someone will steal my coins from the wallet, if my system is infected with trojans (I have McAfee in my system)? Also, how much are their charges?
1458  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 18, 2017, 05:05:14 AM
i choose gold. cause the gold value always raising up and its limited on earth

Gold prices are not always rising up. Right now the prices are somewhere between $1,200 and $1,250 per oz., which represents a 30% decline when compared to the peak rates of around $1,800 per oz., which was attained in 2012.
1459  Economy / Economics / Re: Vast Majority of European Citizens Doesn’t Want Cash Transaction Limits on: July 18, 2017, 05:03:07 AM
If they are banning the cash transactions, then they should make digital payments completely free. But that is not the case. They are charging very heavy fees on these online transactions, and on top of that they are taxing these transactions.
1460  Economy / Economics / Re: So, you want to be rich? All of you ? on: July 18, 2017, 05:00:00 AM
I think to be someone who has abundant wealth is the dream of all living people and this is very human, but everyone must have different views about the rich, and for me rich are the ones who can help others who need good help. With Material or Support, And wealth does not become a standard in life but a dream for all living people.

Everyone dreams about getting rich. Even those losers who rant there 24x7 that money can't buy everything in life, dreams about being rich and being able to afford a luxurious lifestyle. But priorities vary from person to person. Some might give physical wellness a higher priority than the wealth. Some others may give family happiness a higher priority.
