921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: YOBIT on: January 05, 2018, 12:35:27 PM
I have used the Yobit exchange a few times in the past, and I have received their free promotional coins. But lately I have seen that they are getting a lot of flak for poor customer service and support. As long as they are not improving in these areas, it is not worthwhile to take the risk in using their services.
922  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need your advice for student who invested all his savings into bitcoin on: January 05, 2018, 12:31:23 PM
Hello everybody.
Here is a real problem when not experienced people invest in bitcoin because of its hype. But let's imagine if you are a student who invested all savings into bitcoin.
Many experts say it's a bubble. CEO of JPMorgan Chase says it's a bubble, now it's down almost 30 - 40%...

What can you advise?

Right now, Bitcoin is trading at around $16,000 per coin, which is around 15% lower than the historical peak of $19,000 per coin. Even if you had made the purchase at 19K, you don't need to worry. The future potential is looking good and the number of users is increasing at a good pace. But then the most important thing is that you must be ready to wait for at least 1-2 years. Because no one will make you super-rich in a few days time.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [UFC 219: Cyborg vs Holm. NEW EVENT!] The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 05, 2018, 12:27:21 PM
Had my notion to pick Cyborg to win cause she looks like a tough girl in a way just like Rousey was before her exit out of the UFC ring for good.
She could be the next champion for the women of the fighting sport we all know now.
The new generation if you will. Wink

lol cyborg has been fighting for over 12 years and has been a champion forever already how can she be the new generation?

She doesn't belong to the new generation, but please don't forget the fact that Cris Cyborg is only 32 years old. She is at her peak and may remain in the ring for another 5-6 years. Anyway.. leave it. I heard that she refused to fight Amanda Nunes. Any wild guess on why she refused?
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 05, 2018, 11:14:37 AM
SA had won the toss and decided to bat and have started badly. They have lost 3 wickets in 10 overs of the match with 34 runs on the board. Indian bowlers are bowling well specially Bhuvi who is swinging the balls both ways and took all the 3 wickets due to his swing. Pitch is supporting the bowlers and this is causing some problems from the SA batsman.

Indian's bowlers have made a really very good start, with such good conditions they were always expected to trouble the Africa batman but with devillerss still out there the tide can change. One thing I'm surprised is no Rahane? He has a really good overseas record and they could used his services. It'll be interesting how paydya performs since they have dropped Rahane for him. To early to say who'll take the match away.

The Indian bowlers will get smashed all around the park during this series. None of them have the pace to rattle the Protean batsmen. There is not even a single fast bowler in the Indian team. All of their bowlers (Mohammed Shami, Jaspreet Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar) are just medium pacers who bowl at around 80 mph.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can maths help you win in gambling ? on: January 05, 2018, 11:11:50 AM
I am quite skeptical about these claims. I used to read a lot of books dealing with the usage of maths and statistics in gambling (especially the ones by Avery Cardoza and Lyle Stuart). But they never worked for me. On the other hand, my biggest profits happened when I gambled blindly without the usage of any mathematical formulas.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: January 05, 2018, 11:08:30 AM
We saw a Great game between warriors and the Houston rockets . KD didn't play this game but we saw Steph Cury and clay Thompson who show up and put magnificent shoots . I saw a Great them of Houston rockets tonight even if James harden didn't play . Huge performance from CP3 but still not enough to beet the warriors . They went out of gas in the last quarter and the 3 point shoots of Steph curry just finished the job . I still see the rockets a big threat to the warriors for the western conference finals because with James harden in the court the rockets will not be beaten easy . We will see what happens in the playoffs

I don't know what happened to the Houston Rockets during the last quarter. They were on level by the end of the 3rd quarter (90-90), but the Golden State Warriors won the 4th quarter (and the game) by 10 points. If I am not wrong, something similar happened during their last game as well (against Orlando Magic). During that game also the Rockets went out of gas in the 4th quarter (but still managed to win the game).

Many thanks for the links. I considered making a bet in favor of the Boston Celtics, but gave up as the returns were too low. And missed the match as well, as I had some office work. Anyway.. nice to see LeBron turning out for Cavs.
928  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 70k end of 2018. on: January 02, 2018, 06:59:14 PM
To reach an exchange rate of $70,000 per coin, the market cap of Bitcoin should rise to $1 trillion. If you look at the stocks of various companies listed in the world, then you'll find that only the Saudi Aramco may have a market cap exceeding this amount. Even heavyweights such as Apple, Google and Microsoft have market caps lower than $1 trillion.
929  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin reach 40k at the end of 2018? on: January 02, 2018, 06:53:02 PM
$40,000 per coin is a bit difficult, but quite possible. If the exchange rates reach that level, then the market cap will be close to $700 billion. It is still much lower than the market cap of fiat currencies such as the United States Dollar and the United Kingdom Pound.
930  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's price is getting low on: January 02, 2018, 06:50:38 PM
I think not only bitcoin that has decreased in price. Almost all of the altcoin also decreased. I think it is a reasonable thing.

Nope. You are wrong. Most of the altcoins have risen at the expense of Bitcoin. Ripple (XRP) has risen by almost 150% during the last one week against Bitcoin. Ethereum had almost a 100% increase. Even new coins such as Cardano (ADA) rose by more than 100% during the same period.
931  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: January 02, 2018, 06:47:42 PM
If you don't have any money , I am not sure you will be rich with bitcoin. I would more invest in other altcoin if I were you. I don't think bitcoin will have the same rise in 2018

Altcoins are even more volatile than Bitcoin. And in due course, a few powerful coins will survive while the others will become obsolete. So if you invest in some of the altcoins, there is a strong possibility that you may lose all of your investment.
932  Economy / Economics / Re: Are electric cars bad for the oil industry? on: January 02, 2018, 06:42:59 PM
The electric car is environmentally friendly but can not yet replace the oil car I guess if the oil has begun to run out some electric cars will become popular and in mass production.

On average an electric car is around 8 to 10 times more expensive when compared to the equivalent gasoline-driven car. As long as it remains unaffordable to the majority of the world population, electric cars can't expect to replace those run with gasoline and diesel oil. Another factor is the unavailability of Lithium, which is needed for making the batteries of electric cars.
933  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin in Bangladesh on: January 02, 2018, 06:29:47 PM
As far as I know, the possession of Bitcoin as such is not illegal in Bangladesh. But you will face issues if you try to convert your coins to fiat (or vice versa). So my advice is to travel to some of the neighboring nations (India, Sri Lanka.etc) and do the conversion there if you are really that desperate to either sell or purchase Bitcoins.
934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much risk in bitcoin investement ? on: January 02, 2018, 06:23:34 PM
There’s one big one that worries me about every cryptocurrency: a vulnerability that leads to the collapse of the blockchain.

If there was such a vulnerability, then it could have been out in the open long back. The  Bitcoin blockchain in doing quite good, and the only issue with regarding to it is the high fee and the inability to include more than 2,000 to 2,500 transactions per block. This is quite inadequate to include all the transactions being made by the users.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When do you know its time to Stop? on: January 02, 2018, 04:23:05 PM
I follow a very simple rule. Whenever I lose three games in a row, I take a break from gambling. This break can be for short duration (30 minutes or 1 hour) or can be long duration (1 day, or a few days) depending on the amount which was lost in gambling. If the luck is not with us, then there is no point at all in chasing after the losses.
936  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Rise again in January? on: January 02, 2018, 04:19:16 PM
Not sure about January, but the next big movement is going to occur in mid-2018, when the futures listing in NASDAQ is going to happen. But in January I am expecting a steep correction for the alts such as Ripple and Ethereum, as they have gone up by a great deal during the past few days. This can result in the BTC rising by at least 5% to 10%.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 02, 2018, 03:57:16 PM
Lost my second consecutive bet today after favoring the Melbourne Stars against Brisbane Heat. It was another one sided match, with Heat winning with more than 5 overs to spare. Brisbane heavyweights (especially Brendon McCullum) performed well after a gap of many matches, but I though that they will fail this time as well.

938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 01, 2018, 06:43:55 PM
Damn it... I lost some of my money after betting for Sydney Thunder in their game against Hobart Hurricanes. I favored Thunder, as their spinners (Arjun Nair, Fawad Ahmed, and Chris Green) were in great form. But Nair was a great disappointment today and pace bowler Gurinder Sandhu was terribly expensive. And then the lower order collapse during the second innings sealed the match for the Hurricanes.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can you save money while playing gambling games? on: January 01, 2018, 06:40:09 PM
Gamblers can't save money because they gonna pay eveyrthing back into their gamble too.

That's not the case always. There are a lot of intelligent people, who have profited out of gambling. All you need to do is to have a stop-loss target. You must stop gambling and take a break, if the losses exceed a certain threshold. Also, if you turn out to be exceptionally lucky and end up with a great deal of profit after your first few games, then you must keep aside a major part of that and use only the remaining amount to gamble further.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: January 01, 2018, 06:36:27 PM
Always gamble with a strategy

I would definitely agree with that. You must know when to pull out, without damaging yourself too much. Sometimes we get addicted to gambling and start chasing the losses. This can cause much damage to our financial resources. We must have a solid and well defined stop-loss target and we must never go beyond this threshold under any circumstances.
