What was wrong with these threads:

14582  Other / Meta / Re: The mining sections are an unholy mess on: February 19, 2014, 11:57:07 AM
I think this is another good reason for the newbie jail. At least in the newbie section they don't annoy any one and usually will get their question answered by someone willing to help without annoying the rest of the forum with the same old questions.
14583  Other / Meta / Re: Possible spambots "hey, i am fresh here" on: February 19, 2014, 11:53:36 AM
What's the point of bots creating a lot of these accounts? What do the owners get out of it?

Many different reasons. Some have sig deals, some just build up postcounts.

Look at the list of legit campaigns here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=333916.0

Ha, How do they even come across this one over all the others? And why doesn't the Trust: -4: -1 / +0(0) Warning: Trade with extreme caution! scare them off?

Dude they just don't see anything and go out and put it in signatures. Its no help trying to tell them its a spam or don't post here. Some other person will come and just post the same damn thing,
can't mods delete this..? if possible they should do that because not working properly..!

PM one and see if they'll close it. It should be locked really.
14585  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you guys seen these crazy climbers? on: February 18, 2014, 06:15:17 PM
Neat - I really can't wait untill I get out from rehab and able to do stuff like this Cheesy I've climbed a tree that was 30 meters high recently but it's not much. My closest goal is a crane, but winter is slippery! Imagine sitting up there with a ciggarate in your mouth after the kick is over.

A pretty decent sized crane just popped up relatively close to where I live.   Unfortunately in the state of California, the police would be there  with a helicopter before you were even half way up the ladder Sad

I'm not sure that it's unfortunate. As cool and thrilling as it is, it's still very dangerous not just to themselves but others. It's probably only a matter of time before someone falls of these things.
14586  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.5 BTC/month to Advertise Bit777 & Peerbet! on: February 18, 2014, 06:12:13 PM
I need the owner of the bit777 account not the owner of the site. :/

now owner is casinobitco few days ago the take over this from bit777
*
didn't you understood what he's saying.. i think he knowthat bit777 is not admin anymore but still there is something he want to ask him .. at least that is what i understood .

I thought the new owner should buy the bitcointalk account as well lol.
Wouldn't it be a bit strange if the bit777 forum account is still active here while the account owner has nothing to do with the site anymore?

Anyway, as faiza1990 mentioned, the account bit777 hasn't logged in for a few days already...
Good luck  Smiley

I'm sure the account will change hands, or at least it'd be wise to.
14587  Other / Meta / Re: [psa] access to forum database may be given to a third party on: February 18, 2014, 06:09:30 PM
I haven't been given access to the database yet but will need it very soon.

This is an unnecessary risk so if you have private PM's - you should be encrypting them - but if you haven't been then I'd recommend deleting them from your inbox and sent folder and also PMing the recipients and have them remove them from their inbox and sent folder also. This will remove them from the live database so you won't be exposed to any unnecessary risk should they be given to the software development company. We should always assume the worst case scenario and hope for the best...

The NSA probably already has them archived  Wink. As you said, any sensitive data shouldn't be transmitted over PMs here or anywhere else over the net without being encrypted.
14588  Other / Meta / Re: What constitutes "activity" - seeing as it isn't a post-count? on: February 18, 2014, 06:02:46 PM
My activity has been stuck at 210 for weeks, is there something I'm missing?
yes, your comprehension of the posts before you.

That was good for a laugh ^_^

What, might I ask, is a grue?!

14589  Other / Meta / Re: LEAKED - Latest status on forum software on: February 18, 2014, 06:01:26 PM
wangbus is not a admin at this forum? but hes only doing external work and not part of this forum.

He's staff now apparently. I'm sure it'll cause some confusion and complaints when people see a newbie on staff  Grin.
14590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biometrics is the key to defeating Bitcoin hackers! on: February 18, 2014, 05:48:39 PM
I already spoke to some of the devs, they quickly proved me wrong that biometrics are viable. They said for instance, that fingerprints are not the same throughout the whole life, they change and are are not as accurate all the time. I also tried saying ok what about a DNA scan, proved me wrong again.

DNA scanning is even more far-fetched, but could be fun. Imagine licking or spitting into something before you could send your Bitcoins  Grin. I'm sure there'll be fingerprint Bitcoin apps at some point.
14591  Other / Meta / Re: Ponzi world taking over gambling section on: February 18, 2014, 05:44:42 PM
What is wrong with this? ponzis are gambling and are in the right sub-forum.

It is called a Ponzi "Scheme" because it is not a gambling game, but a Scheme to bilk "investors" out of money.

Well it's certainly a gamble putting your money in them. Maybe having a section for Ponzis/pyramids or other HYIP would be a good idea, and maybe putting a warning on the forum like there is Securities.
14592  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Relating to time-outs (time-out between posts, searches, etc.) on: February 18, 2014, 05:42:43 PM
It's annoying at first, but just get more activity and the time limits will go down each time until they become unnoticeable. A timer would be a good idea, but I don't know how easy it would be to implement.
14593  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-17] Why Mt. Gox May Be Headed for Bankruptcy on: February 18, 2014, 05:33:38 PM
People need to stop freaking out and be patient enough to see what happens.

But people make money by making others freak out ...

Some lose it too.
14594  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unable to post: I Need To Contact Wiser on: February 18, 2014, 05:32:46 PM
Hi,
My own case is different. I can post (obviously), but I need to contact Wiser through message. How do I do that? Can somebody enlighten me as regards sending personal messages please? Thanks.

Just click on the little quote bubble icon thing under their username or go to their profile and scroll to the bottom and send PM.
14595  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: February 18, 2014, 05:19:46 PM
Any similar films to "Now you see me"? I don't want any mindfuck. With some mistery, but no scarness at all. AT ALL. I like those where thay are slowly solving some kinda mistry and finally finds what they where searching for. Those treasure hunting like Indiana Jones and Lara Croft were good, but i saw them already. With some kinda "real" history would be cool, like Knights Templar misterys or something like that.
Thanks a lot.

What about The Da Vinci Code or National Treasure?

Da Vinci Code bored me, I'm not sure what I expected but it was something of a snoozefest as I recall. Doesn't make it a bad film, but just wasn't one that I could get into.
Try to read a Da Vinci Code book, it's much more interesting compared to movie.

The film was very disappointing and doesn't live up to the book at all. I haven't seen Angels & Demons yet. Think they're making The Lost symbol film soon.

I think as a blanket statement, typically movies don't live up to the books that they were based on.   Common sense would say that the movies would be more interesting than the books, since it is all visual, but somehow it always seems to be the opposite.   It is probably because movies crunch about 10-20 hours of reading into 1.5 hours of viewing.   A lot of people  can't find the time to read a 3 inch thick book, so they have to settle for the movie.

Yeah, that's true and I agree, but I always try to read the book first before I watch the film. One film that is better than the book is The Devil's Advocate. Book is one of the shittest I've read and the film actually has more literary merit.

Yes, that is an oldie but goodie.   I don't usually like Keanu Reeves.   Have you noticed that he is always in movies with some sort of devil involved?   How sick is Al Pacino's office with that massive stone desk and the huge balcony with no rail?   That is the dopest office I have ever seen!

Yeah, there's some great scenes/dialogue in it, none of which are in the book. This is my favourite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGR4SFOimlk

i wish this ad has bot autopay like bitmixer
Because then spam posts would be counted

Yeah, it would be exploited, plus Bitmixer doesn't pay anywhere near what PD does.

Hey surfer, what are the rules in regards to having stuff in your signature below the link to primedice?

BTC addresses / quotes and a link to your own thread and possibly even website are ok, but no other paid promotions. If in doubt just PM Stunna.

yep, best of luck to anyone with moneys in there!

Interesting. Not sure if they'll live up to that promise though. Maybe just buying time or attempting to take  the heat off.
14599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Women have to take the lead! on: February 18, 2014, 05:00:34 PM
This is precisely why I hate feminism,

Why would you hate feminism? It's about equality, but I don't know what you think it is.

Now there's a respectable woman. Rings are bullshit.
14600  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Buy Bitcoins with Ukash? on: February 18, 2014, 04:45:44 PM
There are probably people over in the marketplace who will accept Ukash. Have a look over there.
