In my opinion...monero price ideally is BTC price. Coin in circulation is roughly the same as BTC.  BTC and monero both is competitor in crypto. If it is reach BTC it is mean it reach its highest price. for the moment

This.

Anyone who thinks that a prediction of 0.7 and 0.75 is ludicrous (even on the short-term) simply doesn't understand the Monero phenomenon; what's going on right now, what's just about to happen, both in terms of its technology, economics, community, and underlying politics. There's only a finite amount of times you can say this before you realise that a certain number of people are never really going to get it.

I've found that the misunderstanding is most prevalent in a minority of minds who don't have the necessary perceptive skills to visualise a landscape any different from what's been given to them - particularly in reference to the inertia of BTC maximalism (which is rapidly going out of fashion.)

If you think we're currently at the top of a 'pump' then you may well belong to this minority. To reiterate as firmly as I can: This is the middle of an upward correction to the 4-6 billion area. This correction will turn violent and swift - all it is waiting for is the suitable trigger.

Whether you get caught with your pants down is up to you.

+1  And the price spikes are happening with increasing frequency, historically speaking.

Sad that those big players came into the game. Now they have controll over the price of bitcoin with simple predictions.

Sad people forget too fast. GS first prediction for this year top was at $3300. If they had any control thru those "predictions" we'd have been trading now at $2500 not at $4500!

Good post that, becoin.

We always get weekend dumps any way, I don't think we're about to go plummeting downwards myself.

I think so too.... sub 4500 feels like cheap coins. But let's see.
1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 01, 2017, 05:36:51 PM
i have only very less monero. i bought them very cheap. i do not know why i did not buy more. anyway, i do not sell my xmr soon, my target price is 500 dollar at least.

Pessimist!  Wink
1464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 01, 2017, 04:35:54 PM
Sell this shit.  Undecided

Why you comment just before every pump?

To bring us luck - the trolls always come in to resent us in advance.

I guess they realised they missed out the chance to by at 25c and are kicking themselves?
1465  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 01, 2017, 11:55:56 AM
Ok I've missed out on a lot of this increase. Just got back from hospital with our newborn baby boy. Shattered and on top of the world but also what makes it even better is a nice btc price!!

Now sleep.

Congrats from a fellow Brit.

Yeah, I'm back baby. My thanks to Cyrus! Smiley

If you haven't already, make sure to stake your address. Best thing you can do to protect your account.

And $4700? Today is a good day.

Great news, Yefi!  Pleased for you, and I will indeed stake later once I am home from work ('work' - ha!  Pretending to, more like).

Impossible to work with all the good news.

1469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 31, 2017, 06:58:17 AM
Speculation:  There will be XMR billionaires by the end of next year.  Wrap your hear around THAT one.

XMR Billionaire club members: Risto, TheKoziTwo, aminorex, ArcticMine, Smoothie, smooth, tacotime, MoneroMoo, fluffypony
 Grin

AmericanPegasus ... (Is he still alive?)

Not seen him around online anywhere of late.

Shame, but I expect he's done well...

Seems XMR trying to breach 030 - DESPITE BTC being over 4600

Honeypony don't give a shit!

wow....

what happened ?  why does it takes hours to confirm tx  in monero ?  do you realize Dash and Pivx confirm tx in split second ?

From my understanding there is a progressive scaling implemented but not ready for such a sudden hype.
Also, I am willing to wait a bit longer or pay a slightly higher fee to keep my transactions 200% private.

I don't think this guy actually has any Monero, he just kindly pops by to remind us that Dash exists every now and then with a little friendly trolling Wink
1472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 28, 2017, 11:35:40 AM
anyone managed to register on bithumb with an foreign telefonnumber (maybe from europe)? and how?

Yes you can do it. I just made an account with an Italian phone number. Just choose your country and put in your phone number without the international code.

BTW the price on bithumb went up to $312 on the opening candle  Shocked Shocked

Why would they add international number box if it's not needed!!! You're a lifesaver thx!!!

I sent 13 XMR to trade over there!!!

I am registered, but I would be interested in how easy it is to withdraw... It's not too clear about crypto wiithdrawal, rather than cash.

Someone is trying to shake out weak hands...

I don't mind buying back the coins I sold over night though, if there is a chance.   Smiley

There is only one single category of humans (?) more despicable than the joos, and that's the shabbos goym.
I feel shame for you.

Reality is reality. Feel free to live in your dream world with your artificial boogeyman you can blame for all the evil in the world. I am not stopping you.

It's noble to at least try.  You are not the only one sickened at the rampant right wing, Neo-Nazi, antisemitic bile on here.

I have tried to stand against it, but they won't change. I realise you feel the need to point out this view is plain sickening, nonsensical and historically false.  However, these people live in a bubble of ignorance where the holocaust didn't happen and Hitler 'wasn't all bad' and no one where they live has challenged their twisted views of reality.

I have seen r0ach willing on the 'Second holocaust' on here and no one spoke up, bar me. Shocking it is and so speaking up is right.  America is fucked if this is this is a level of debate that is even tolerated, but I guess you realised that, if you have spotted the irony of a nation of immigrants being so intractably racist. Voting for a leader who is a essentially a white supremacist withe temperament of a thin-skinned five year old proves it.

I am sure this may make me persona non grata here, but if they can say what the hell they like - no matter how evil or pro-genocidal - then others are free to say just how much they disagree and indeed hold their views in contempt.

1475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 27, 2017, 09:44:45 PM
Supply of coins on Polo is roughly matching the buy side.

This is not normal for XMR, coins for sale are much fewer than normal...  Just sayin'

Maybe some people are trying to keep the lid on the price, it looks very flat.  I don't think this can last if sell side / buy side ratio stays like this.
1476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 27, 2017, 09:22:47 PM
The world back then was smaller, the inflation was crazy high and small trading groups had firm grip on many coins, no fiat to monero ramp existed. Some of the soon-to-be largest monero hodlers may not even speak english.

+1

It's come a long way from back then.  Around a $2 billion market cap is serious.
1477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 27, 2017, 08:55:17 PM
Moneran's shouldn't forget the great Mintpal pump of 2014, which resulted in an ATH that wasn't broken for two years.

The important point though is that the price record was reached before trading began at Mintpal. Perhaps this time is different?

Yep.  We are older, more cynical and wiser.   If it doesn't happen, of course it will dip, but odds are on that it will, and as the likely outcome is still uncertain, the news is not totally priced in.

I think if there is an SK frenzy (as seems possible) it will have further to go, so selling now is not wise.
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 27, 2017, 08:51:19 PM
This is all so entertaining, LOL...

But I still feel a bit gun-shy yet because the LAST time there was a "sure thing" coming in for XMR spike, was Fluffy's little PRANK (and I got bit kinda hard on that, heh, put in some Monero to trade on the "sure thing spike that was coming" and had to panic-sell into the massive WALL OF RED BLOOD that ensued...  Cry  )

But, anyway yeah this isn't the same really... seems more widespread and substantial info reliable for what's coming.

So, what the hell.  I didn't gamble much on my Vegas trip last weekend so might as well take a roll of the dice here, right?  Heh.

What I'm gonna do is just totally leave my main stash ALONE, don't touch what really matters and just continue to HODL.

But, taking some other crypto that I really don't care much about (*cough*Dash(LOL)*cough*) and flip it over temporarily into Monero.  Then HODL that extra expendable Monero thru the fireworks show that's coming this week, we assume, and trust YOU GUYS to indicate here when it's mostly over (?? ?? ??)

Then, flip the winnings back to whatever it was to start (or, not... fuck those Dashtards LOL) and take the extra profit, buy a nice bottle of Barolo to celebrate, and go back to just simply HODL'ing again.

Sounds like a reasonable, conservative plan?  Cheesy

Spoken like a true Hodler!   Let's ignore the D-word stuff, of course (we all have our naughty little secrets) but hodling has worked well for Monero and is often a better strategy than day-trading.

I worked hard to push my cost average down (by trading) back in the dark days, out of necessity (after I bought too much).  Now I rarely trade much of my XMR, save a small play stash.  If anything I want an exit point for a portion of my stash to move it into practical solid assets (like property) that I don't need to worry about about so much (and I can insure it, for a start!).  I do have a small problem in that when I sell a bit, I then see a dip and buy it back.  But I think I can wean myself off this eventually, with therapy!   Actually I am glad I haven't managed just yet, I would be kicking myself.

Consider taking something out, just in case of a Black Swan event, if you can.... but a Hodler is a true warrior and deserves his (or her) ultimate rewards.
1479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 27, 2017, 07:17:55 PM

[snip...]

And about marshmallow experiment, read this thread:

"60k Moneroj. Will i be a millionaire by 2017? 19-07-2015, 13:26:25"

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1128049.0%3Ball

That is hilarious.  There are some weirdly prophetic posts, one guy said this (this is a very small snippet of his logic trail):

But let's do some back-of-the-napkin math.

1 XMR = $0.53 today. So the success case is about a 2600% return.

That was pretty much the rise in 2016.

The only downside is that the OP was TrueCryptionnaire, and we have no idea if he did buy 60K of XMR

If he had kept it until now (which it's pretty certain he has not) it would be around 8 million USD
