Anybody know what this message is about on RoseMining.com.........

"rosemining pool is shut down due to solarcoin breaking. Email blahblahblah@gmail.com if you have coins left in the pool. I cashed out all the coins before solarcoin broke down."

Rosemining is butthurt about all the mining abuse and they can't make a profit.

This is the end of solarcoin.  After this round the difficulty is gonna stay spiked at 40+ for weeks with no miners.

You aren't frightening.

Solarcoin is a beacon for what crypto should will be.

Take your scare tactics to another audience.

I don't think clowns are scarey.

I have about 10 MH/s in GPU gear, and have mined solarcoin for over 2 months now…it doesn't take long to feel small in Crypto world :-)

I have 1500 KH/s, I feel smaller. Cheesy

Net hash 680 MHs even after difficulty change. Will it last?

I both like it and don't like it. It's very old school before all these new technologies came around there were times mining litecoin back in the day that were like this for weeks.

I hate that movie. It irks me.

Really??? I enjoyed it immensely! But I can totally see why people wouldn't enjoy it.

Just to be clear, I can't rule out the possibility that I may have smoked something before watching it that made it seem like a much better movie than it is... Roll Eyes

If you add PoS to Solarcoin it would become one of the most dynamic Crypto's on the market in my humble opinion.

Solarcoin at that point would have 2 PoW and PoS,
PoW- Solar power generating panels
PoW- Mining network
PoS- Coin holders

One of the bigger drawbacks to PoS is hoarding because no one wants to give up their coins. So that drives up the price, but also makes it harder to get coins. The thing Solarcoin has that makes it a great PoS candidate is the premined Gen pool. With the large chunk of coins premined and given out for solar power generation, That solves the hoarding problems of other PoS coins as well as drives more people to redeem coins for solar power. Its also good to mention it would be important to keep the premined out of receiving PoS rewards, simple keeping them in cold wallets.

Im not a promoter of any of the other coins... I could care less how the coins used for example proform... They are only used as a reference... Im all about making Solarcoin the best it can be!!!!

I happen to love this idea as well, I'd just like to see the difficulty retargeting get addressed first so we can put out that fire and be done with it. Then our tech team will have some forking experience (no pun intended  Shocked) under their belts and can begin thinking about the larger project of a potential PoS fork down the road.

Wouldn't that be a "fork in the road"? Wink

Hi solarcoin community, I am EnergyCoin dev team member. And just noticed that solarcoin is stuck on high difficulty. I would like to help fix your difficulty problems. I know very well how to code, and another guy knows how to compile!

If you're interested let me know and I'll be happy to help you fix your coin problems.
++1

Why other coin's dev should help main solarcoin's dev?
I also want to have retarget BITCOIN difficulty cause is to high. Could you help me?

you don't understand cryptocurrencies. they aren't for devs and they aren't to be owned by devs. it is open source software and managed by communities, rather than one person. You cant rely on one person for everything.

I am okay if you don't really like someone helping you. Have fun.

EDIT:
And bitcoin IS STILL MANAGED by developers on here. Even if satoshi is not here doesn't mean we can let bitcoin just be dead or hacked. This is exactly why bitcoin is alive and will remain alive. Is because its open source software and backed by community.

I know...i was kidding.
You have to know that most of us already ask to solarcoin dev's to change the algorytm in x11 to prevent as much as possible asic coming on the way. But we didn't recieve answer, or at least what we know is that solarcoin main score is not' mining, cause 99,9% is already pre-mine, but claim them by solar panel.

So, we appreciate your help.  Wink

i dont understand the whole part of 'claim them by solar panel" does that mean it's manual. And you have to send your copies of papers or something to prove you own the equipments and then the dev team manually sends them solarcoins?

The granting process is manual at the moment, but that will change as technology is implemented. As far as the claiming process goes, for larger facilities there's logic being drafted and §SLR will be granted based on Nameplate capacity which is certified by the local institutions (I would assume local government) at the time of licensing. For smaller claims I don't have all the facts at the moment, something like verifiable meter readings and whatnot.

What do you guys make of all those §50,000 buy orders that showed up this morning? It has to be just one person. It adds up to over $3000. If he/she had done a market order with that instead, the price would have tripled.  Shocked

With the difficulty where it is, there are no new coins gonna be added to the market for another 42 hours unless some hashing power comes back. And nobody is dumping. Hmmm. Could be an interesting couple of days! Or a standstill.  Cheesy

Wouldn't have actually tripled though. Prices of anything are only subject to what someone is willing to pay for something. If someone put a buy order in for 3k "photons" (hah), then at that moment it would be worth 3k "photoshi's" Cheesy

In either case it's way undervalued at the moment and all this clever difficulty manipulation is only increasing the value over time, but only temporarily once those issues are resolved.

Right and my main other question is why would someone that's generating solar power, care about getting Solarcoins as credit for their production?

It's an incentive or at least it's designed as an incentive for putting up solar panels at least on the home owners end. Homeowners receive tax credits and utility credits for solar so what is attempting to be accomplished here is adding an extra incentive to putting up solar. When/If Solarcoin reaches it's intended target value of 20-30 dollars a coin, it'll be a valid added incentive along with all the other credits.

I'd just like everyone to know at this moment §1000 is worth roughly 908 Hungarian Forints.

This has been a public service message.

This coin is ridiculous. All the loyal followered are fucking getting hammered, dedicating to this coin, and when DIFF goes low all the temp miners hop on, destroy the difficulty and leave these faith miners be with a shit difficulty. Where the fuck is the loyalty for these miners. Miners make this coin run. If you believe this means more "cheap" coins for people then your mistaken because, the price will keep TANKING. A month ago 1400 with the NORM, now its 900, watch what happens next month. Joke Dev, Joke Coin.

Mining is a small fraction of this coin. It's not designed to be mined, it's designed to be claimed. As far as the price is concerned it's following the natural pattern. I have no doubts this tech is in the right hands. Do some research.

Here we go again. Hash rate just jumped by 500%, up to 950 Mh/s !!!

As soon as the difficulty drops, in they come like flies on s!@#.

Then they take off leaving it in high difficulty mode for days, so that the rest of us can suffer.  This process sucks for the long-term miners,  with much less of a hashing rate, most of which are holding their coins   Angry

It's going to happen. It's very old school. I would suggest switching to rosemining.com At least it'll balance the network a bit and maybe leave the whales with a few less coins.

Not to interrupt the conversation, but in the interests of full disclosure Vexatious = Epiphany. I've decided to be more consistent with my profile naming between here and the SLR forums. Anyone with half a brain would have known I was one and the same already  Grin, but I've decided to move on from my "gaming" name to this one on these boards.

So, that's that. Please continue...  Smiley

Odd, this is my gaming handle. One of them anyway.

There's a 5% per year limit on release of coins also, that is 5% of current circulation. But a lot of this depends on adoption and there's a few kinks to work out like a faithful way to meter production but grid ties will make it difficult to fake numbers however because who would want to pay more to the power company just to pick up a few Solarcoins? That is to say when the power company in your area figures out there's been a sudden decrease in watts usage from your address they'll come investigating. This is the main objection to many of the project. They feel trust is an issue when making claims, but they just don't understand the process. You can't just arbitrarily send in a claim as your solar production is tied to your house watt meter and there's many federal regulations in place to keep tampering to a minimum, at least in the US. That is to say the feds enforce this with guns and fines and jail time.

good stuff I see two ways to get listed we all put up some btc and get it listed or vote each hour/everyday   btw  shirts still available

I have to go the vote route, I don't have two bitcoins to rub together. LOL

I see BeeCoin blew past us today... WTF?  Huh Before bed last night, we had 25,997 votes. Almost 24 hours later we have 26,040. We got 43 votes in a day and 10 of them are mine.  Cry

Sigh... Someone please tell me I have those numbers wrong.

Your numbers are right. People see huge premine and blow right past. Few bother to look at the board of directors and the volunteers that are coming into the project. These aren't people living in their grandmothers attic.

Go ahead, keep on ignoring Solarcoin. I need to build up my stash. Wink
