I would also like to point out that whether or not the shipment was in fact paid for in uro is NOT public domain, and is irrelevant to this discussion.
The fact that the urea was delivered validates the claim IMO.
My main concern was that the people involved in this project were attempting to make something out of nothing.
As long as the NIERS state that they accept uro, and the blockchain reflects the transaction, they are holding an asset that they consider to equal the value of the UREA that was delivered.
If they can deliver the UREA, and have proved that capacity to the satisfaction of the investors, they have succeeded.
If they were relying upon the market to pump the coin high enough to sell the coin and purchase the urea to fulfill the contract, that would have been a scam attempt, and would already be failed.
Also, the amount of capital in the market at this time does not justify continued activity were this a scam.
They would already have ran, IMO.
If this were a scam RIVAA would never have endorsed it. I find it highly unlikely a large textile manufacturer in India would have bothered to even look at URO if they weren't actually using it. Need Help Please! I tried to access my wallet today and got the follow error....this application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I update my wallet every 2 to 3 days and did so just 2 days ago, so this error is recent. sadly no backup, why i have other crap coins backed up and not solar have no answer for,
i have could kick myself.

Sounds like the blockchain got corrupted. The wallet.dat is still there in your %appdata%/solarcoin folder. Make a copy or five of that, and rebuild the block chain by renaming the blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat files to blk0001_old.dat and blkindex_old.dat. |

It's not regulated like fiat and it provides another source of fluctuation. It's the main backbone to crypto and it should stay that way, unless something comes along purposely designed to replace it. I don't see that happening though. The infrastructure is already in for Bitcoin, and until it becomes a trouble it won't be trumped. Commodity backed currencies haven't been in successful in world history for a reason. I always wonder about this myth that attaching a commodity to money somehow makes it better. What, for example, if the price of Urea crashes? That doesn't really prove much. Look at the history of why the UK jumped off the gold standard in 1935. The gold standard was probably also responsible for Germany's economic crash. It proves it worked for 30 years. |
