why should Bob Arum so concern about them, let the Russians fight each other forchristsake those guys loves boxing so much like the Mexicans. while these boxers are younger, allow them to make money since Arum is also making money thru them. i doubt Russians like Beterveiv nor Bivol will care in the end.
Bivol vs Ramirez fight will be explosive. we're all fedup with all the mismatch Arum is setting.
If only boxers have the "say" on who they would fight then Beterbiev vs Bivol will happen without a problem but they have promoters and some of the big names have contracts with tv networks which in this case have problems agreeing to terms. Bivol is under DAZN while Artur Beterbiev is under ESPN. If this fight is to happen, this should be under ESPN per Bob Arum so he can have the leverage on the sharing of revenues (just my thought as this is always the case lol). Any shared information on why Dmitry Bivol failed to secure a fight with Artur Beterbiev for the supposed undisputed match at the Light-Heavyweight Division? Who do you think is responsible for that, no other than Bob Arum the villain of the Boxing world, he doesn't want his ward Beterbiev on any promotion only on ESPN Boxing politics always deprived the hard core fans of this sport the fight we deserved to see when fighters are still in their prime. Bob Arum always want the big slice of the pie and we all know that Bivol's market value sky-rocketed when he beat Canelo so for sure he will have to receive more if he fight Beterbiev which i don't think old Bob will agree. Bivol needs to dispose Zurdo in a convincing manner first so as to eliminate the doubt that he is just a one fight wonder and with that he deserve a shot of unifying the light heavy weight title. |

Good for him because rumors from the boxing fans is that Zurdo has been fighting a bunch of nobodies that's why he's got an impressive record. However, some said he's been fighting the best he could as if he's aiming for Bivol or Beterbiev.
Now, he's got Bivol. This is going to an interesting fight as people expect less from Zurdo. But I have a feeling this would turn out to become a good fight.
So that's a lot of nobodies he fought lol, at 44-0 i think Zurdo has also gained some good experience fighting that much. Zurdo was a former champion in the super middleweight division so i think he also got some pop on his punches though not that hard but still enough for him to be recognized by the boxing community so with that said this would be an exciting fight because like Zurdo, Bivol was a nobody (at least for me) until he fought and won against Canelo. |

Voted for Fury as i think Usyk is no match to Fury's boxing style. Joshua's confidence or shall we say style is not made for Usyk's quickness and relentless throwing of bombs. Have seen a video of Fury and he said that he is ready to face Usyk but it would be expensive  . money grabs for him, different approach with that of Mayweather to sell the fight. |

Big collapsed on the Beermen side as the lose a double digit lead and now seems the Tropang Giga is on the way to claim the win on this first game of the finals. Mikey Williams' was foul troubled in the first half contributing to the lousy plays of TNT on which the SMB capitalized and have a 12 point lead. On the other hand, Loma will be tested here because he hasn't fought for a while. But we have seen him destroying good fighters like Commey and Nakatani in his comeback fight after a shoulder injury and a lost to Kambosos. Now this could be his second coming. But I still think that Loma is still very much in his prime and maybe we will see another great performance.
I think you mean a lost to Lopez mate, Lopez then lost to Kambosos in his mandatory fight. With a win by Usyk tonight, Ukraine's people must be in the high spirit now and come October it would be Lomachenko's turn to make his people proud. I don't see a Loma loss here because for me this is just a "keep busy" fight for him before fighting for the title next year, a rematch with Lopez might be a good one but i don't think Loma would go up in weight and chase Lopez so a fight with Haney is the way to go. |

A bit of a trivia  . Coach Chot Reyes is 4-0 in PBA Finals in All-Filipino Cup and on the other hand, Coach Leo Austria is 5-0 in PBA Finals in All-Filipino Cup. Thanks for this little trivia of yours mate, good to know this history between these two great coaches. So this is the first time that SMB Beermen and TNT meet in the AFC with Junemar on board the Beermen huh. Someone's zero has to go and for us bettors it is hard (at least for me) to decide who to bet for since this current roster of the Beermen is not that deadly anymore because Arwind Santos and Cabagnot are not here for them while Junemar is not that young anymore.

A good strategy that will convert to a win. Ancajas can regain that title and be a champion again. Also, a good opportunity for the promoters if, in case Ancajas win, they can immediately call for another rematch/trilogy to decide who's really the one who deserves to keep the belt. It's a must for Ancajas or else he will be forgotten, as there are many competitive young fighters who can challenge Martinez if Ancajas failed his attempt to win back his belt.
The other scenario here if Ancajas wins other than the trilogy is that Martinez would go back to his original division and continue depending his belt while Ancajas would go on fighting Ioka which was the original plan of MP Promotions and might also be a chance to avenge the loss of Nietes in the hands of Ioka which for me, Ancajas has the better chance of winning than this fight. That will be a big fight as Ioka has recently beat his arch nemesis, another Filipino in Nietes. I agree that Ancajas has a better shot since he is still very young as compare that time to Nietes who is already over the hill at 40 years old. But as what we want to see, Ancajas should win first and dominate Martinez. He was a huge underdog in the first fight that we thought it is easy path for Ancajas. However, Ancajas demanded a rematch so here we are and hopefully this time, Ancajas will win and I wanted to see a knock out win for him. Yup, this Martinez rematch is way for him to get back on track in his boxing career. As I've said before that he might not be focused in the first fight because Martinez was a replacement fighter but this time around, no reason or alibi for him if he loses, it's just that Martinez is superior to him. Now that he has experienced how Martinez moved or how hard Martinez can hit him so he has now an idea on how to defeat him in this rematch and for sure bookies will place Ancajas in the underdog position here. |

Well, I like SMB to be the underdog so the odds will be attractive. It's hard to predict, to be honest, and I believe that this series will reach game 7 which is good as it will entertain the fans. They are evenly matched, however, based on experience, I think TNT is more experience as some of the starters of SMB are just new to the team.
This is also what i'm afraid of because some of the starters of SMB are new to the team and championship poise and experience is not yet there. Though Chriss Ross is available to play but he is not 100 percent healthy so expect Cruz and Enciso to man the point haeavily. I've alreay said in my previous post that Mikey Williams will have his moment in this series due to Ross' limited minutes and i don't think Cruz could limit his offensive output, so yeah this series would be unpredictable which what the fans are looking for. Anyone who would like to bet for TNT, just quote this post as i have some extra money for betting for the SMB Beermen. |

Chot already won a championship when he comes back coaching in the PBA, but this time it's different as we have a healthy JMF.
Indeed, this would not be an easy one as we've seen in their last meeting where SMB was able to limit Mikey Williams and beat them with a huge margin, if they can do that again, well, I would say that SMB has a better chance of winning and JMF might win a BPC and Finals MVP. Cruz and Ross will be there to match up with Williams and Castro. Both guards are also a good defender, but we can't underestimate Williams' capabilities as he always wanted to take the challenge and put more pressures from the defending players. I can say that the whole squad are balance from each other, lot of talents who can help as a role players here. We might see more surprises with players who will step up helping those known names to tower the offense. I'm a biased here since I really love SMB to win another title and for Fajardo to add more MVP to his name. Mikey Williams might have an advantage over Chris Ross in this series because the latter is not yet fully recovered from his injury, that might also the reason why Ross has limited minutes in the series against Bolts. But it's okay since SMB Beermen also got the advantage on their bigs, Poy Erram is no match against Fajardo down low so this will be an even and exciting match with no team has a clear advantage over the other. @harizen, please open up the betting as there might be people who want to bet on this series, anyway it is only TNT and SMB which have pot. |

I’m honestly pretty surprised at how much discussion goes on in this thread. I have to be honest, I know next to nothing about this league so I want to ask, what is the appeal for you guys who do watch this league? Is this league compatible to the European league? Have there ever been any star players in this league who ended up going to the NBA ?
First of all, thanks for dropping by on this thread. You know, basketball is like a religion on our country but the irony is that our genes is not made for this sports , i mean we are not too tall compare to Americans or Europeans but we are very passionate on this sport in fact you can see makeshift basketball court wherever you go in this country. Also this PBA is the first professional league that was established in Asia and the most exciting part of this PBA is many people enjoy betting on this game but it is done illegally, meaning that most of it don't pay taxes to the government. |

The odds are still the same, it's already out now, you can check on your bookies. SMB is -5.5 and the over/under is 190.5. Moneyline for Meralco is 2.70, that's quite attractive. In the last 3 losses of Meralco, they only covered 1, so if they lose in this game, I think they won't cover the spread. There's a reason why the spread is high, most probably SMB will via in a dominant passion to avenge their losses in game 6. Expect JMF getting plenty of minutes, it's a do or die game, so he would only rest for a while. I'm also thinking the same but still, we never knew the outcome of the game until it's over. Junemar for sure will play heavy minutes in this game but they still have to manage his minutes properly to avoid being gassed out in the championship minutes in a game 7. I'm also inclined that SMB will win in a convincing manner, CJ Perez must step up and play intelligently tonight. Boy, this is what i've missed with the old Death Five of SMB, the generalship in the court of Cabagnot and those clutch three's Arwin would make in case Junemar is doubled down low. |

Ennis name though is cropping up, at least I heard Crawford talk about him, meaning he is all aware of what is going on in his division and maybe looking at the threat outside already, good sign of a well IQ boxer.
Because PBC is grooming Ennis as its next welterweight star. He is a good fighter with an excellent record of 29-0-27 but I feel like PBC is babying him. Unlike Butaev and Stanionis who only got 14 and 15 fights only but they already held the WBA regular belt and fought each other too. Vergil and Spence used to be friends as both came from Texas but there was a time that they had beef a few years ago but was settled later on. There were also talks about Vergil Ortiz and Bud Crawford before but it didn't materialize. I believe these 4 young stars will beat Thurman and maybe Crawford and Spence too after a year or two. That's why Bud and Spence should really fight this year and then they can move up in weight in order to fight the other big names. Thanks for this info mate, seems to me that you are one of the walking vocabularies in boxing on this forum . I also think that Top Rank also has be blamed for why Crawford has not faced other big names in the welterweight division as for me they are babying him and not rushing him to fight the likes of Spence or Thurman but on the other hand, it might also have some advantages as hyping fighters will make more money in the end. |
