we're all in this together. What if noob could be a positive influence and example to his friends that he might go to college with? His perspective on life is valuable and many people might need him as an example. You can't measure those network effects, life is not all about you

no tell your parents, and then sell them half ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) LOL. My eldest son is 12 and if he pulled this shit on me I would be pissed. that's too bad, parents should encourage their kids :/

How long before they start sharing their SSN 'black lists'? - This doesn't bode well for Coinbase.
Coinbase has Goldman Sachs connections.

How do you know? She's a professor at IU, my school.

you call them common folk ? LMAO!!! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FGTXI3Dz.jpg&t=664&c=VVXJlPu_lp7tbQ) So why is the price not going up like crazy because of this??? Are people just clueless? I would buy more if I could right now!
^ that is exactly the reason. The vast majority of people ARE clueless about Bitcoin. Out of the few who own Bitcoin, the present market makers are currently mired to the price, who are currently panicking. People like you who know better have already possibly expended their capital, possibly because they already believed in the long term, unable to counter the downward pressure. The general population is insanely ignorant about Bitcoin - and here's proof.ugh... ouch... i am seriously wincing over here... this is a PAINFUL thread to go through and I thought the speculation subforum is so much painful BS... jesus hay soos OMG is there any hope for the youth, the generations of tomorrow? god ffs I am only 33 and this is so effing painful to read Tell me about it, this is my generation. Well sir, the arrow of time tells us many things, amongst them: "Slaves Shall Serve"Let's try to be fairer to them in this more intellectual and airy Age of Aquarius, to differentiate from the Age of Aries, when spoken language was relatively new and anyone that could bark commands was looked upon as a god. Let's be even different than the most recent (and rapidly fading -- Murdoch?) world masters of the Age of Pisces -- those that pretended to care, but impotent and ignorant in technology were not able to manifest such benevolence, no matter how honestly wished for. The masters of this new age will have in their grasp the technology to FULLY master the environment of the slaves, and hopefully their ignorance will truly be bliss. "It takes all kinds"

Wanting to short bitcoin on 10x margin reminds me of this quote by Gene Hackman in Enemy of the State: "You're either very smart or incredibly stupid." http://www.hark.com/clips/jrfwjxcklf-either-smart-or-stupidDid you hear some insider info about what's going to happen at the Senate hearing? Maybe some senators will come out for banning bitcoin and a leveraged short will pay off big. Otherwise, you could lose everything in a matter of hours. many people will prove to be incredibly stupid (for our amusement) Here is this epic thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=59969.0

US bitcoin niche is occupied by bitcoin mafia which is monopolist in their country. It's typical situation in over-regulated environment.
Would you care to elaborate ? As I know there in US is only one bank who serves a few bitcoin businesses. The rest of the businesses are dead because no bank would accept them. Typical American-style monopoly. It used to be the IAFCU before regulations forced them to close down their Bitcoin business accounts... which bank serves those Bitcoin businesses now? Citi?

People are resistant of change and skeptical by their very nature. Time is the only force that will convince them otherwise.

With the actual rate, Exodus has $2M on bounty to push Mastercoin on stage.
Indeed, it's a very good news and maybe we should think bigger !
don't worry, you shall see in the coming weeks, there are certainly developments on that particular front that we shall soon see the fruits of our labor of. But the best way to accomplish putting Mastercoin on stage is by building the "product" we say we'll have first.

That casascius coin is akin to a key to a safe, not the actual gold in the safe.

seriously, gold has nothing to do with Bitcoin.....
Got your thesis, now where's the evidence and argument? Thought so...

A million sure ain't like it used to be. Bitcoins success would mean obsoletion of fiat...our current measuring stick. Edit: http://www.fiatleak.com

My guess is full development of the protocol could take 1-3 years. We (the Mastercoin community) are all doing something to accelerate this, whether it be clearing up misconceptions in other fora, participating in the giveaway or actively volunteering themselves to run a manual orderbook, to developing incentivized and structured bounty systems and evaluating the huge talent pool that have been asking how they could help, or of course, encouraging the developers (best accomplished by using and buy testing their work!). Play your part ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

The problem now is if Luke's patch is applied in all big pools, Mastercoin will be DoA. Only one MSC transaction is allowed in 10 minutes in that case. MSC relies on BTC, but BTC community seems care nothing about MSC. In that thread, nobody even mentioned MSC except me.
First they ignore you...

Gold Parity, here we come.
kinda weird to think about after all these years... what's after that? We don't know, we happen to live in a time that's fundamentally different from any preceding it, for the last 600 or so years, right after the institution of banking was created. Singularity ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
