Seeing as it's information revealed in a public and decently high-profile bankruptcy case anyway: Dr. Marc A. Lowe from California.

Since you're always trying to push the bounds of you appearing to be fair and since you are in the same public case, why aren't you revealing your own identity? Or are you just trying to harass me? .

See: left

And you did it first in this thread :p

so where do you want to go with this Antony?

Cypherdoc did you buy Mastercoin  or NXT in the IPO?

no

Can you promise to never buy an alt under any circumstances?

Note I haven't been able to read all 1300 pages of this thread. Is that all you do with your life?

No, he's an ophthalmologist with a family as far as I know. Dr. Lowe's taught me quite a bit outside of this thread.

Keep working that shovel. You are digging your hole broad and deep.
They are probably cringing now as you dig your delusional fool reputation deeper.
While I can't say the medicine wasn't worth it...

as far as my subs were concerned, they were offered a choice, buy a miner or don't.  nothing was forced upon them.  everyone has to do their own research and calculations and consider their own circumstances.  it's like all the other advice i give in the newsletter; you can choose to follow or not.  vokain above forgot to mention that in January i recommended to him personally via email that he get a refund while he had the opportunity to get one; he declined to do so and we see the results of that.

This was my choice and that's fine, I stand by that and I hope the bankruptcy will proceed okay, though I've never been part of this shit before... but on the bright side it's been a stimulating game so far. But anyway, in the interests of being forthright I have to clarify this above statement. Cypherdoc, you were a compensated representative of Hashfast at one point. There was some conflict of interest in the trust your subscribers had for you and your affiliation with that company though our end goals and interests were more or less aligned.

Regardless, the whole point of purchasing miners at that point was so that I could make more bitcoins off the bitcoins I would invest. If everything worked out, everything would've been dandy and I would've appreciated and respected your representation of HashFast and my best interests as your sub. Given the hashrate then and the purported efficiency of the Golden Nonce chip, if I were able to be the first to mine I would've made bank. Along with their guarantees of a miner protection program and BTC refunds and absolute and definite wording that they'd deliver by October 20-30, I felt it was worth the risk.

Now, come a few months later when they did not deliver, I was not about to let them ream me of the bitcoins I put down. In January, there would've been no hope to ROI positively given KNC miners, and with their broken promises, violation of the FTC mail-order cancellation rule, a dollar refund at that point in January, had I taken their dollar settlement where that scumbag Ettinger also wanted me to give up my rights to sue in addition to their obligation to me to return the sole form of payment they took that I gave them, I would've only been about to recover 1/6-1/8 the bitcoins I had put down by purchasing them again. No way.

Now I don't blame you for HashFast's behavior or any of that, and yes, you did advise me to take the refund in January and from your perspective that would've been the safest option given the circumstances and revelations that have developed up to that point so I respect that, but speaking objectively, if one were to follow the advice you gave regarding HashFast, unfortunately, they would've lost a lot of money/time.

Plus, your permabull schtick wasn't the best investment advice the past while.

If you try to argue TPTB don't exist or don't intend to do this, then I have no rebuttal other than  Roll Eyes

They don't exist as the monolithic self conscious entity that you picture.

Thanks for calling this out.
I, for one, really struggle dissecting the good points (and there are many) from posts which are framed within a TPTB, NWO or a (Blacklist-style) Cabal world-view.

To me, nefarious PTB are what most term in a conspiratorial light. Those that conceal the truth via disinformation obfuscation and other games usually do it in an us vs. them frame. The prototypical battle between light and dark, whether in the confines of our minds or the actions we chose to take between each other. The thing is, how are we to know one from the other without the other?

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false."

Thank you.

There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Pick a nice day, [The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] suggests, and try it.

The first part is easy. All it requires is simply the ability to throw yourself forward with all your weight, and the willingness not to mind that it's going to hurt.

That is, it's going to hurt if you fail to miss the ground. Most people fail to miss the ground, and if they are really trying properly, the likelihood is that they will fail to miss it fairly hard.

Clearly, it is the second part, the missing, which presents the difficulties.

One problem is that you have to miss the ground accidentally. It's no good deliberately intending to miss the ground because you won't. You have to have your attention suddenly distracted by something else when you're halfway there, so that you are no longer thinking about falling, or about the ground, or about how much it's going to hurt if you fail to miss it.

It is notoriously difficult to prize your attention away from these three things during the split second you have at your disposal. Hence most people's failure, and their eventual disillusionment with this exhilarating and spectacular sport.

If, however, you are lucky enough to have your attention momentarily distracted at the crucial moment by, say, a gorgeous pair of legs (tentacles, pseudopodia, according to phyllum and/or personal inclination) or a bomb going off in your vicinty, or by suddenly spotting an extremely rare species of beetle crawling along a nearby twig, then in your astonishment you will miss the ground completely and remain bobbing just a few inches above it in what might seem to be a slightly foolish manner.

This is a moment for superb and delicate concentration. Bob and float, float and bob. Ignore all consideration of your own weight simply let yourself waft higher. Do not listen to what anybody says to you at this point because they are unlikely to say anything helpful. They are most likely to say something along the lines of "Good God, you can't possibly be flying!" It is vitally important not to believe them or they will suddenly be right.

Waft higher and higher. Try a few swoops, gentle ones at first, then drift above the treetops breathing regularly.

DO NOT WAVE AT ANYBODY.

When you have done this a few times you will find the moment of distraction rapidly easier and easier to achieve.

You will then learn all sorts of things about how to control your flight, your speed, your maneuverability, and the trick usually lies in not thinking too hard about whatever you want to do, but just allowing it to happen as if it were going to anyway.

You will also learn about how to land properly, which is something you will almost certainly screw up, and screw up badly, on your first attempt.

There are private clubs you can join which help you achieve the all-important moment of distraction. They hire people with surprising bodies or opinions to leap out from behind bushes and exhibit and/or explain them at the critical moments. Few genuine hitchhikers will be able to afford to join these clubs, but some may be able to get temporary employment at them.

there's actually a real good explanation why most of our sleep cycles are smoothly sloped as shown in the charts.  it's b/c even though i am willing to roll over in bed, look at the news, and even post occasionally, i am UNwilling or unable to do that btwn the hours of approximately 1-4AM.  that is b/c during those hours i am in my deepest REM sleep cycle which rarely i am able to awaken even if i wanted to.  secondly, if i do awaken, i usually will roll over, look at the clock, and if i see the time being btwn those hours, i consciously will NOT pick up my phone to post.  reason being, i know if i do that i will be toast the next day and won't be able to function properly.  which is all the more reason why TPTB_need_war is either superhuman or is more than one guy.

i'm betting on the latter.

He lives in the Phillipines where the culture's sense of time is often at odds with a Western schedule of time (to not consider this might be indicative of anglocentric bias).

I'm of Southeast Asian descent and have long standing ties to such lack of schedule. I also am a typical college student with mobile devices :p

The light from LCD screens can influence circadian rhythm/melatonin regulation.

"What do your BitcoinTalk statistics say about your sleep schedule?"

It appears I generally/naturally have a biphasic sleep cycle, aka the siesta sleep schedule  Cool

anyway its ok, the liquidity is good right now for both sides. dump if you want or buy a big chunck.
no idea if we can attack 26-27 successfuly, looks like it would need an agressive push to break through

Or patience  Roll Eyes

I had the impression everyone's kind of joined in on the fight against the Lannisters (ruling party) who are inextricably tied to the bankers.

edit: Then I guess we have the Dragon Empire from across the sea, but they have their own messes to clean up before getting anywhere.

idk I'm only on episode 5
595  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: June 06, 2015, 04:05:43 AM
Monero's implementation is fixed.

Like Bitcoin, only Monero's emission schedule is fixed (by social contract).

In all other areas, both remain open to improvement, bound only by the constraint of community consensus.

Considering this, it seems to me that another ledger does not have to surpass a dominant ledger in any metric for it to coexist. When the culture of a collective strives for technological advances under the auspices of everlastingly standing against any nefarious PTB, I think this can challenge the thesis that there has to be one dominant ledger, at least immediately. Consider as an imperfect example: Apple vs. and Windows.
596  Other / Meta / Re: Ignoring user also ignores quotes containing said user? on: June 04, 2015, 08:25:21 PM
maybe allow the option to ignore both quoted post and the original user or you get to pick just to ignore the user

Yes.  Options.

If a member that's part of my ongoing mental web of trust is ignored for quoting someone I ignored, I might be inclined to show the ignored post. Otherwise I just get more headaches from certain accounts.

Can we implement this please? It'd be most useful.

Not only that friend, what else are they planing to change down the line? Like I said many moons ago, they will try change the emission and they will start making Bitcoin permanently inflationary, not that I'm against the model, I like Monero exactly because the disinflation but it is a severe rupture of Bitcoin's trust and social contract and all started with the project being hijacked into this obscure XT fork.
If they try to make a change like that, users will migrate away from their fork just as easy as they migrated to it.

In the end, the developers don't actually have any power - they can only product the software which users want or refrain from doing so.

People are sheep that will go with the loudest/best advertising, regardless of benefit/detriment.   Just look at every other system in existence.

When the culture of a collective emphasizes the theory and practice of truth as a core tenet, then their loudest/best advertising may very well converge with the truth.
