521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 22, 2015, 01:15:05 AM
In case any of you are hoping Monero will make you rich so you can live a glamorous and different life, think again.

Look at risto, he made millions off of bitcoin and bought a castle.  What does this visionary do with his spare time now that he's rich and (semi) famous?

Posts all the time on the Internet about cryptocurrency, just like the rest of us.   Wink

See?  In a way, you're *already* rich.   Grin

Please have a plan in mind other than just being rich and living happily ever after.  Also, practice saying 'No' a lot, because you're gonna have to say it a lot soon to many who would fleece you.

Also, make sure you get a good prenup going into any relationship that states she/(he?) forfeits any right to your cryptocurrency savings...  Unless you want to be the next "billion dollar divorce".

Wouldn't the opposing party have to prove your ownership of said cryptocurrency savings first?

523  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Rapture / Comet Predictions for September 15-28th (2015) on: July 13, 2015, 10:02:16 AM
This topic is just like what was discussed a few years ago when people were following the Mayan calender they predicted when the world was going to end and look what happened to that theory Roll Eyes
More theories are going to be revealed and debunked.

If one were actually familiar with the Mayan calendar, they would realize that 2012 was not the "end of the world" as some might perceive it in an apocalyptic sort of way but an end of the world as we knew it in a step-progression kind of way, as it is the start of a new long-count cycle in their calendar system, similar to when things move from Pisces into Aries or vice versa.

It's true that the so-called long-count calendar—which spans roughly 5,125 years starting in 3114 B.C.—reaches the end of a cycle on December 21, 2012.

That day brings to a close the 13th Bak'tun, an almost 400-year period in the Maya long-count calendar.

But rather than moving to the next Bak'tun, the calendar will reset at the end of the 13th cycle, akin to the way a 1960s automobile would click over at mile 99,999.9 and reset to zero.

"Monero" is under attack by TrademarkFuckers.
I've got today the abuse.
I don't get any earning from moneroclub site and don't want to cover legal costs. Therefore the project will move to the new domain.
I find that very dangerous for Monero community. This trademark fucker can destroy any monero site.
BTW1, "monero" is esperanto word, how it is possible to register common words from dictionary?
BTW2, bitcoin TM is registered by community. Didn't someone from monero community happen to register trademark "monero"?

Oh fuck.

Streisand Effect in 10...9...8...   Cool

Wow.. had almost forgotten about this wrangling. This is getting kinda funny.

It's an open & shut case.

Monero and Moneero are two separate words. If you try and make the case that they're the same, then where do you draw the line?

Two E's are not the same as one E.

But if you try to make the case that it's imitation then all you have to do is prove that it's not imitation. Which should be easy.

Will be good exposure for Monero and it's a case that Moneero can't win. Perfect recipe.

I just sent the Moneero bizdev guy a warning email too :p

Could this also be argument to peg the two chains, at least as long as it's useful (if it is)?

527  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Palestine & israel? What do you think about that situation? on: June 30, 2015, 08:46:07 AM

The Bahai Faith is yet another Abrahamic religion which has nothing positive to contribute to this world. They are cult-like and business minded, just like their Islamic and Christian colleagues. They are sending missionaries all over the world and spashing money, inorder to convert more people to their religion and thereby increasing their numbers.

I question your interpretation.

"In the Bahá'í Faith, religious history is seen to have unfolded through a series of divine messengers, each of whom established a religion that was suited to the needs of the time and to the capacity of the people. These messengers have included Abrahamic figures—Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, as well as Dharmic ones—Krishna, Buddha, and others. For Bahá'ís, the most recent messengers are the Báb and Bahá'u'lláh. In Bahá'í belief, each consecutive messenger prophesied of messengers to follow, and Bahá'u'lláh's life and teachings fulfilled the end-time promises of previous scriptures. Humanity is understood to be in a process of collective evolution, and the need of the present time is for the gradual establishment of peace, justice and unity on a global scale.[6]"

I interpret it as admittedly and encouragedly reinterpretable perception of God as done by man. Don't lose focus by focusing on money.
528  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Palestine & israel? What do you think about that situation? on: June 30, 2015, 08:18:41 AM

What about them?

I learned of them and researched them a bit as a result of (one of?) Sophia Smallstorm's presentations on Sandy Hook.  One from perhaps a year ago with some x-mas card calendar thing.  Interesting stuff; these people are creepy as hell but I didn't see much that ties them to Zionism per-se.  Zionism seems to be the key factor in understanding the relationship between Palestine and Israel and the events related to them (i.e., the ethnic cleansing campaign going on there.)

If people see Muhammad and Moses (rather than "or") (et al.) as Manifestations of God then they might be able to form more meaningful relationships between one doctrine and another, the common denominator being God.

I don't think those that play with margin here are really taking any positions in significant amounts as some imply. But I just guess.

Does anyone know of hard numbers?
531  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: June 18, 2015, 02:29:38 PM

And you are incorrect to assume that Zaradude was arguing about environment. He is not.

I was arguing about the climate of the environment, just as Nassim Taleb:

But the skepticism about models that I propose does not lead to the same conclusions as the ones endorsed by anti-environmentalists, pro-market fundamentalists, quite the contrary: we need to be hyper-conservationists ecologically, super-Green, since we do not know what we are harming with now.

I think we can all agree that "green initiatives" can lead to greater environmental harm through subsidies and waste, and that systems like carbon credits probably serve to enrich and empower such regulators, but it is still crucially importantly to be aware of our individual and collective impact upon Mother Earth (for example, realizing everything's means to their ends) regardless of said political pandering.

I think we can all agree that Nassim Taleb is saying: We should not enrich the atmosphere with additional carbon, since we do not know the result of such crazy experiments.

My guess is that if increased carbon creating more of a greenhouse effect raises temperature (entropy) on Earth, it raises the carrying capacity of Earth for CO2 sequestrating plants and microbes, increasing the collective metabolic activity of such organisms to eventually check such emissions. I think that the emissions systems we have now do not account for the public cost of emissions and general tragedy of the commons (if demonstrable), and if that were priced in somehow fairly, that might check and smooth carbon emissions and eliminate more serious pollutants. I don't 100% trust Gore's carbon credits though. It also does not account for pollutant emissions really as far as I don't know.

P.S. I am fairly certain Cypherdoc is a mouthpiece for TPTB. I posit he was purposely compromised by the HashFast offer to maintain his allegiance. This is their usual modus operandi. This is evident by his public role and other factors such as his denial of the fact that Bitcoin core is heading towards a centralized end game.

I keep weighing this as the most solid explanation for certain of cypherdoc's behaviors, but then I think back to the early days and various aspects of his person and back off.

So someone who has spent the past 4-5 years promoting Bitcoin as a new form of sound money and trying to educate as many people about that as possible, is really a tool of the TPTB who would lose most of their power/influence under a true sound money system. Got it. I'll file that one right next to Satoshi is really the CIA.

If Bitcoin's nonanonymous structure really turns out to be a tool the nefarious powers that be could employ to trace all economic transactions in say, a Revelations type of fashion, then it is certainly possible that those PTB employ said tool to advantage, and that anyone supporting such a tool is also a tool of said PTB, ignorantly or not.

I am also helping with their current seed round and I wanted to ask you a favor:
Could you take a look at their pitch deck and give me your opinion?

It would be awesome to hear your feedback and ideas. I want to make sure they are on
track. Maybe you have also an idea whom they should be talking to?

Thanks a lot!

A cease and desist notice is kind of a scummy move. Guy never responded to me either.

The Internet, even Wikipedia, is full of information on levitation and antigravity. If someone is not educated, he would do better to educate himself first, and contribute later. For example Maglev train is a practical example of levitation. The train has mass, but it does not have weight, and if a scale is put beneath, it does not register gravity from the train or its passengers.

A scale beneath the magnets?

It means I don't like wasting my time with an inane bankruptcy case and I have a friend who incidentally does have a lot of heart for the case helping me out by proxying my seat.

I read TPTB_need_war's comment, and it sounded like an invitation for a literal spar in a ring. The observation that you're letting the comment hang over your head the way you are, is indicative of something...

you are incredibly self serving.  who here wants to be fully doxxed by another?  please chime in to support vokain on this matter and please provide your full identity as proof of your support.

It's public information on this forum. You did it to yourself.

Thanks for explaining.

So, what is the difference to creditors between the liquidation trust they keep talking about (staying in chapter 11) vs. changing to chapter 7 and liquidating?  IOW, what value does this liquidation trust being advocated add to the creditors, when it sounds like all hard assets are gone?
The value of the estate is in the claims, like the one against Marc A Lowe. http://hashfast.org/Marc_A._Lowe
You have an idea of what will happen to those in the next years if you kept the chapter 11 and the current power balances, while you couldn't predict it if you decided to trust the people that would be imposed with the chapter 7.

sure i did.  yet TPTB_need_war got the identity directly from you trying to incite conflict and harm:

Any time you'd like to test out that black belt against an autodidact boxer with vision in one eye, let's give it a whirl in the ring wif I am in town? May I come on over? For sport of course, but just take a look at Antonio Margarito's face after the Pacquio fight to note this sport has consequences.

still waiting for anyone willing to state they wouldn't mind being doxxed or have their privacy violated by someone like vokain and to prove it by providing us with your name and address.

Well yeah, he asked, and I could answer and did. Figure I could save some time.
