1481  Economy / Economics / Re: The legalization of bitcoin. on: July 10, 2017, 05:29:53 PM
Paying tax from our earnings in bitcoin is a positive for me because even though there will be a less in our earnings, we can still have a good legalized currency in our country and that is bitcoin which in Japan they can use it to buy things in their country and paying tax is still a good side for me because we can help our country to improve itself by just paying tax.

As long as the tax rates are reasonable, I don't have an issue paying them. But look at nations such as Germany. They have income tax as high as 45%, and on top of that the indirect taxes are also high. The VAT for most of the common goods range from 20% to 50%.
1482  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: July 10, 2017, 05:24:28 PM
Maybe not to get rich, but sure as hell to earn a decent amount of money with bitcoins.

How much money did you earn with bitcoins? Or did you lose some?
Dreaming to become rich with bitcoin is not bad, it is also good that you have a dream and goal. But make sure you also have a determination to do it. I earn bitcoin per week less than .02 btc. And it is quite good for me. I'll save some of it. 😁

At that rate, it will take more than a year for you to earn BTC1.00. A better option would be to convert some of your fiat or other assets to Bitcoin now, when the prices are low. You will not regret your decision, if BTC rises to five-figure prices in the future.
1483  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1st August questions - can you invest safely? on: July 10, 2017, 05:21:40 PM
I was thinking to liquidate all btc investments and keep them on my wallet for the possible fork

That would be extremely risky. If the fork succeeds, then the exchange rates can easily cross the $5,000 mark. Because I have a feeling that BTC is heavily under-valued right now, as some of the institutional investors have pulled out.
1484  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next UASF in 1 August/2017. Bitcoin UP or DOWN? on: July 10, 2017, 05:13:27 PM
If Bitcoin splits, then we will be left with equal amounts of both the coins. And I still believe that in the end, the combined market cap of these coins are going to be higher than the market cap of Bitcoin before the split.
1485  Economy / Speculation / Re: can my bitcoin drop to nothing on: July 10, 2017, 05:10:28 PM
Some 3-4 months back, I never thought that such a possibility may arise. But now it is a real possibility, although the chances are extremely low. Jihan Wu is the biggest threat to Bitcoin right now. If things go in his way, then he can demolish Bitcoin.
1486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending bitcoin without the miner fees ! on: July 10, 2017, 04:38:59 PM
Happened to me a year ago when I used outdated version of core wallet and it had fee hardcoded (?) and it was lower then needed. Transaction never got confirmed, newegg order got cancelled, BTC returned back to the account after a while.

The problem is that some of the miners refuse to include transactions which pay a low free in the blocks which they mine. This is especially true for the blocks mined by the mining pools such as BTCC Pool, BitFury, Bitcoin.com, and AntPool. These miners are actually acting against the spirit of Bitcoin, and their actions may be detrimental to the future of BTC.
1487  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: July 10, 2017, 04:36:09 PM
If you're in for the long run it's certainly not too late. Bitcoin in my eyes is still extremely undervalued, especially if segwit finally gets activated. August will be a big month for bitcoin so even if the price drops you should be strong and hold your coins. You can still buy some right now but only risk the money you are willing to lose, that is the number one rule.

If the prices drop in August, then it might be a good opportunity to buy. Who knows? There is even a chance that Bitcoin may drop below $1,000 for a short while. This is possible, especially if Jihancoin splits from Bitcoin.
1488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ? on: July 10, 2017, 04:34:34 PM
Yes the days of getting rich with Bitcoin over night are pretty much over. That was the time back in 2011 and 2012. Partially also 2013, of course depending on your size of investment.

Are you sure about what you had posted? During the past 1.5 years, Bitcoin has given a return of close to 1,300%. There are some crypto-coins, which have given as much as 10,000% ROI during the same period. Is there any other asset out there, which has given similar returns?
1489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: July 10, 2017, 04:28:53 PM
Right now around 25% of my earnings are in the form of Bitcoins. I earn Bitcoins for freelancing, advertising, and for participating in the signature campaigns. But I have to work hard to earn them. Every day, I spend 3 to 4 hours, in Bitcoin-related work.
1490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 10, 2017, 04:26:34 PM
whatever it is, bitcoin is looking set to get segwit activated through soft fork.
the hard fork to 2MB looks very not convincing, not only the code is not properly reviewed, and a bit rush.  But with such a huge network, without backward compatibility is always a bad idea, unless it is absolutely needed, and definitely need a more careful detailed plan than segwit2x is currently doing.  But segwit 2x is definitely a good way to resolve current tension between different parties.

2MB may prove to be a very short-term solution. Looking at the growth in the number of users, I have to say that within the next 12 months, the increased 2MB block size will also prove to be inadequate.
1491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Poll] Will you use Jihancoin? on: July 10, 2017, 04:24:20 PM
I am going to hold both Jihancoin and Bitcoin. I am ideologically opposed to Jihancoin, but the chances are that there is going to be a huge pump with that coin during the second half of 2017. In the long-term, I am not sure whether it will survive (the chances are that Bitcoin will win the war), but in the short-term and medium-term, Jihancoin has the potential to give good profits.
1492  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drug free in the Philippines on: July 10, 2017, 03:06:27 PM
Same goes here even if our president now focuses too much on the war in Mindanao patrol police are becoming more active specially during at night which results to lesser crime and i am loving it

I am not a resident of the Philippines. But if the crime rate is going down, then it is very good news. I don't care what methods are Duterte using. But despite the harsh nature of his measures, the crime is down and it is a reason for celebration.
1493  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you feel about the death penalty? on: July 10, 2017, 03:03:52 PM
The death penalty is bad for lots of reasons. But it also has indirect social benefits. It make people think twice to commit such crime if they will get death penalty as punishment.

The hardcore criminals needs to be taken out from the society, and death penalty is the only viable solution. Some people may argue for life without parole, but I am against it. There is always chances of jailbreaks and pardons.
1494  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pope Francis warns of 'dangerous' alliance between Trump's US and Putin's Russia on: July 10, 2017, 03:01:34 PM
Why can't this guy mind his own business and leave the government affairs to the politicians? A few days back, some of his loyalists were detained for participating in a gay orgy. And a few days before that, evidence of a pedophile ring within the Catholic church came in to light. Can't he take care of these issues first, rather than poking his nose in to Trump's anus?
1495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used by ordinary citizens? on: July 09, 2017, 12:06:51 PM
When I talk about crypto-currencies around me, it's still seen as scammy.

Don't forget that there is a valid reason for this. Hacks are very common in Bitcoin world, and the biggest one (Mt Gox) resulted in a total loss of almost $1 billion. Recently, Bitfinex, Mercado Bitcoin, and Bithumb were hacked, and the coins stolen. As long as these incidents happen, ordinary people will view Bitcoin with a bit of suspicion.
1496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending bitcoin without the miner fees ! on: July 09, 2017, 12:01:44 PM
I think that would be a stupid and useless transaction if you are not paying for miners fee, that transaction will not be processed i think if you will not put any miners fee even a little miners fee on the transactions

There is a very low chance that zero-fee transactions may be processed. Some of the mining pools such as BTC.TOP have previously included zero-fee transactions in the blocks which they have mined. But considering the number of unconfirmed transactions nowadays, the chances are quite remote. If you had forgot to add a fee, then in order to process the transaction you may need to pay a fee to the transaction accelerators, such as viaBTC.
1497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much risk in bitcoin investement ? on: July 09, 2017, 11:47:21 AM
For me investing in bitcoin is very risky, but it could return much higher profit than investing in low risk like real state.
We only lessen the risk if we invest in multiple bitcoin investment.

The greater the risk, the greater will be the chances of good returns. But I don't understand your point about "multiple bitcoin investment". Do you mean that you are investing in other BTC-backed assets, such as bonds, loans and crypto-stocks? Or did you meant that you are investing in altcoins as well, in addition to Bitcoin?
1498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 09, 2017, 11:43:06 AM
The Chinese miners expect the NYA (New York Agreement) to be honored. All you have to do is read Bitmain's published articles to see the roadmap. Bitmain wants miners to switch from Bitcoin Core to the new btc1 client which will enforce SegWit2X. If 80% of miners switch over starting on July 21 as they have promised there will be no hard fork. The deadline for switch over is July 29. Bitmain has also promised if UASF gains any traction they have a hard fork planned to wipe out UASF.

Bitmain's stand is very confusing. A few days back, I heard that they are planing to mine a new crypto-currency, if their suggestions are not accepted. So what is going to happen? Are they going to continue with BTC, or are they going to split off?
1499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: July 09, 2017, 11:37:30 AM
There is still a lot of negative publicity surrounding BTC. The recent ransomware attack didn't did any favors either. Many of the governments view Bitcoin as a currency exclusively used by criminals and drug peddlers.
Yes, bitcoin has got majority of negative spreading rather than positive statements. This is just because of the increased use of bitcoin for illegal transactions and for gambling purpose during the early days of bitcoin. This is the reason and soon more Countries will realize the potential of bitcoin same as the Countries that have legalized it's usage.

Gambling is still OK, I believe. There are a lot of gambling sites out there, which accept PayPal or CC payments, and these nations can do little about them. I guess they are more concerned about Bitcoin being used for tax evasion, and for the purpose of ransom and drug purchases.
1500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: long term 1+ year: Litecoin or Ethereum classic? on: July 09, 2017, 11:10:55 AM
I would put my weight behind Litecoin. It is a tried and trusted currency, and we can trust the developers. Also, Litecoin exchange rates are somewhat independent of the BTC exchange rates, which can't be said about Ethereum Classic.
