I'm also fighting with 5970, those GPU are not easy... Can you tell me which Catalyst and AMD-APP-SDK versions are you using and which cgminer options?
For reduce the VCC you only need to add the next option to the cgminer.conf file
"gpu-vddc": "0.95"
But in my tests less than 0.97 gives very low hashrate... however maybe I messed it up in some other point.
I am using 13.1 and 2.7 sdk. Yes i have added that option in bat file not in conf file. Hello guys i have a miner consisting of XFX 1.6990 black edition 2.5970 black edition
Which is running @ 1.732 Mhash/sec. 6990 @910/1360/1.110v 491hash per core 5970 @820/1200/1.050v 373hash per core
I want to bring 5970 lower on 0.95v. Please tell me cgminer settings which will provide me max Mhash/J. Do tell me intensity TC g, work, etc etc.
1.05~1.10 is the lowest you can probably go and still get decent hash rates. Otherwise, running lower, you'll lose a good amount of hash rate. You probably can go 850 mhz core on the 5970. Maybe 950 core on the 6990. TC=8192, g=2, Worksize=256, I=18. I want 650+khash on 0.95v 5970 @ 715 0.95v and 765 have helped me to reach 590. Testing TC now 700~725 khs on 0.95 is about the average at that voltage.

Thanks,
I thought 90C sounded hot.
Ill throw in some more 120mm fans and get some more air flowing.
Where do i add the CPUUSAGE=9?
I haven't pass 62C on an ambient air of 87F with an Arctic Cooling Accelero Extreme 7970 gpu cooler on my MSI Twin Frozr III HD7970 OC BE. Is your card reference design or a twin fan cooler?

I've been using the same settings as you. I believe I've grabbed them off a mining review video. Never bothered trying anything else. Looking forward to any settings that can do a bit better.
I got one from the gpucoin store and second one I won in the drawing, so I'm trying to mine with them for fun. Maybe in the future build a 6 R7 240 rig to mine with. These things run between 23 to 32 watts.

see the price of xpm thats why pools are bad for coins all people do is mine and dump
Not completely the pool fault. 3 fast gpu miners is speeding up minting and volume, but it will eventually be hard to mine once the diff gets too high again. Hopefully once the dump phase is gone, that the price will rise again. see the price of xpm thats why pools are bad for coins all people do is mine and dump
Sure and what are you supposed to do with your coins? Yup, eventually got to sell them to put them in circulation.

is any profit from found 10ch ?
When it's value is equal or higher than the difficulty? 10.561892 or higher....

What the heck? Didn't you do a poll a couple months ago and people vote all no? Not even one person voted yes.

Are you going to add Aiden (ADN) coin? It's on Poloniex and a few other smaller exchanges.

It's one of the top 5 exchanges I like to trade at. Next target, Mintpal and Cryptsy....

Anyone making a lists of conf for Scrypt-OG for various card?
|
|
|
Just trying a couple of AMD R7 240 I got from the GPU coin store for fun.
What intensity, worksize, TC, etc. do I use for it?
I'm getting 1.178 mhs for Scrypt-OG with -I 17, worksize=256 and TC=8192.
With the same settings I get 105 khs for Scrypt.
With X11 I get 325 khs.
Haven't tried Scrypt-N.
This is with a core of 950 and memory of 1000.

GPU Sale!On Friday the 4th of April GPU Coin is having a massive sale starting between the hours of 1700~2000 EST and going until stock is sold out. The rest of the Sapphire Toxic R9 280X cards will be sold for $300 USD equivalant of GPUC at the market value and any person who orders a Sapphire R7 240 card at our already low price of $27 USD equivalant of GPUC will be entered in a drawing for another free R7 240, with a total of 5 winners. Due to stock limits, we will be limiting purchases to one card per customer. Contests:Five Free Graphics Cards https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=550206.0Previous Winners:jimlite: free Sapphire Toxic R9 280X magalhanze: free Gigabyte R9 270 Goals:Wholesale GPU Purchases: We currently have access to distributor prices, but wish to provide further savings to our customers. We are currently applying for wholesale of the following companies: MSI, XFX, Sapphire Tech, ASUS and GIGABYTE. After contacting a few companies we have found the wholesale market to be extremely monopolized, and a few said they would not accept new business accounts. To get access we need to provide the manufacturers proof of a certain amount of monthly sales; so if you stick by us, we'll be able to provide even higher savings directly to you. When is the drawing for the R7 240? I ordered one and just want to make sure I'm entered. Received my AMD Radeon R7 240 today. Thank you

First of all bravo for your work, will be using 10% fee.
I have 2* 7950 @ 445 / 1 r9 290 @ 275 / 1 7870 @ 800+
Now a couple of questions:
1) Do I have to keep minning 24/7 to get results or not? Because the r9 290 & 7870 do some gaming too (some hours per day), should I use them on another coin and leave the 7950's 24/7
2)Has anyone compared it to MAXcoin average income per day onsay a 280X or r9 290?
Personally, I would game with the 7870, and mine with the 290 and 7950. If your trying to maximize profits. It takes about 12 hours at least to get a rough estimate, 24 hours would be more ideal. It would be best to run it 48 hours to 72 hours to get a more exact estimate. Use the last 24 hours of mining from 48~72 hours to get a more conclusive estimate.

You need these in your config or bat file:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
I used these commands in the console. You need these in your config or bat file:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
+1 yes, this! In my experience tc 32765 and g 1 is optimum for 290Xs, but it won't work without the above. Why is you gpu clock and memory clock are zero? Are you using MSI Afterburner, Sapphire Trixx or AMD Overdrive to control your clock speeds? When I set the parameter TC = 32765... (see picture) I'm doing something wrong?

Celeron G1620 2xMSI 280X 1120/1500 v1.5 GPU Load 75-81% v2.0 GPU Load 97-99%
Reinstall catalyst v13.12, reboot computer and disable overclocking. The GPU load is suppose to be 90%~100%, right? His CPU load is just only 16%, which is fine? What's the target CPU load to stay around at to get peak performance?

Did you try -ss 0? You got some overhead on the cpu load to try it out.
|
|
|
i am too -ss 0 gpu load 50%... without - ss 0 gpu load at 90%
precisely with ss quicker?
my bat is standart - NsXpmMiner.exe -o ypool.net -u YourLogin.WorkerName -p YourPassword -di 0 =gpu load 90% as well as was in 1.5 ver.
Yes you want 90% or greater on the GPU load and less than 80% on CPU load.
|
|
|
I'm getting a TRT of 428 at 1150 core and 1500 memory with -ss 0 at 29%~37% cpu load, that's so major performance increase. This is on a single MSI Twin Frozr III HD7970 OC BE with an Arctic Cooling Accelero Extreme 7970 gpu cooler.
Make sure to keep the core/memory ratio from stock speed, if you overclock.

The point was already addressed, but I'd like to reinforce it. If it is "hobby"-mining, then it is not dead. Hobbies typically cost (a lot of) money. If lack of profit makes you stop mining, then you're doing something else besides an hobby. Yes, it can become a little frustrating to operate at break-even or even at loss, if you don't have a speculative attitude.
otoh, how nice it would be that Ham, Satellite, wifi or SDR gear could pay for itself like my 2 mining rigs did...
A lot of people forget this is a hobby first and possible investment. Good thing, not too many hobbies can give you a potential for returns.
