GPU plot generator v2.1.0

Changelog:
- Enhanced kernel. Thanks to "burstcoin" for his great work on that part.

Windows x86 binaries: https://mega.co.nz/#!aVNXzIhB!Obq7E_Nob0v6SHn8KheIiTlNwT6G9yN4cEmBXadUQZc
Sources: https://mega.co.nz/#!yU8GQAqa!7YG8G8Z1UqudnYIhj79JY-Y8uVpVMiPV4v0lFHYEWEs

I made some modifications in the kernel too. Please check that my modifications don't lower the performances (it shouldn't, but let's be cautious).
Also, as this is a brand new kernel, the AMD 14.4 issue may be corrected as a side effect. I would really apreciate a feedback on that point.
rename shabal.cl to shabal2.cl

Erf, sorry for that. I was in the middle of testing it and forgot to change the #include.

GPU plot generator v2.1.1

Changelog:

Is the issue with AMD 14.x driver resolved in this release? Are Nvidia cards supported better in this release? Thanks for all the hard work.

the Mega link is not working for me Sad Working now Smiley

Also thought i would add my plotting speeds for my 7950 (with a pretty decent overclock)
was getting 14k on v2.0.0
now getting 27k on v2.0.1 with the kernel mod posted by burstcoin
using 4080Stagger 256Threads 8160Hashes
Still only uses 64% usage of the GPU at best aswell.

What gpu are you running that with ~64k nonce/min? AMD 14.x driver too?

280x, 14.7 drivers

OC'ed or stock clocks? How's the deadline times?

Gigabyte's oc'd version, but with the clocks that came. I haven't checked the deadlines yet. I think its not generated properly.... But we will see

Just hope that it doesn't have the prior issues with the 14.x drivers. I'm tempted to try it on one of my rigs with 12TB in it.

Does the gpuplotgen2.1.0... work properly with 14.*** drivers, because the ver. 2.0.1 generates plots that give huge value deadlines too...

No one has reported if it works fine or not yet. You can give it a try and see if it does.

I just plugged in a second Seagate Backup+ but it doesn't show up as a drive in windows explorer.  I looked it up on device manager, and it shows all 3 externals, including the new one, so I know windows is recognizing it.  Anyone have any ideas how I can get this to work?  Thanks!

Edit: I just plugged it into another comp: same results.  Windows says it successfully installed the drivers for it, so why can't I use it?  DOA?

You might need to go into Windows "Disk Management" and see if the drive is online/formatted properly.

my mine.bat sometimes crashes and closes itself. Any ideas how to re-run this program automatically after it crashes ?

That would be a nice option to have and hope this will be add in the near future.
It's already been answered:

Thanks for the link for the script....

modded v.2.0.1 kernel gave me the following results.

HD7970
Stock=11.7k nonces/min
Mod=20.6k nonces/min

HD7850 2GB
Stock=7.7k nonces/min
Mod=15.6k nonces/min

~76% increase with the 7970 and ~102.59 increase with the 7850 2GB...... Shocked
I'm having a major debate with myself right now...
Do I cancel my currently plotting 2TB file, or do I just wait it out and test a smaller file after it is complete...

The two cards are on different PC's, 7850 is plotting 10.5TB and 7970 is plotting 14.4TB. Originally it was going to take 4~5 days and now it will take 2 days or less to plot.
I have a 7800, so I assume it would be pretty similar to your 7850. What are the perameters you are using for the GPU plotter for the 15.6k?
(I think I'm going to wait it out and test later, as my current 2TB plot is 73% complete with 5h left..)

there is no such card called a "7800" unless u are talking about a super old nvidia card 7800 is the series like 7850 7870

He's talking about 7850 or the 7870, the device manger will show that it's a AMD 7800 series card.

7850 at stock clocks

Your nearly finish with that 2TB plot, 5 hours isn't that long.

Thanks for the info, I'll test out my 7800 with the modified kernel in a couple hours when my current plot finishes.

Also, with the non-modded v2.0.1 kernel my GPU doesn't seem to be "ramping up" like it would when I crypto mine. Like the GPU is cool and fans a low, as if GPU was @ idle. Not sure if the plotter can't use the full resources of the GPU or if it is just that efficient...

64% load means the miner/kernel can be optimized still. The modded kernel seems to keep the nonces/min rates mostly nominal.

Anyone had a problem like this?

Trying to mine at http://burst-pool2.cryptoport.io with pool miner V1, but only getting these messages..

modded v.2.0.1 kernel gave me the following results.

HD7970
Stock=11.7k nonces/min
Mod=20.6k nonces/min
What parameters do you use and what are your cards clocks? And what drivers? I've got only 16k with my Giga 7970 @ 975/1500, using 3072, 128 and 8160.

Actually it's doing 21.9k nonces/min now for the past 5 minutes, so 87% increase now. I'm running AMD 13.9 driver and 2.9.1 APP SDK at stock clocks, 1050/1375 on a MSI Twin Frozr III HD7970 BE.

Stagger=3072
Threads=128
Hashes=8160

Update: All gpu's only run a max of 64% about.

Messed around with the 2.0.1 plotter kernel a bit, and got it running a bit faster.

https://mega.co.nz/#!vsommLbQ!C9v0TshBm0JY8DMBC8DsM9wCtZvvGjsVDNl9wGr0DKU
Replace the kernel folder with the one provided.

This is about 35% slower on a Titan Black.

Giga 280х, parameters 0 8000 4000 128 4000
original: 11162,8 nonces/min
mod: 17777,8 nonces/min

That's about 59% increase in speed..... Shocked

Some of you don't understand burst.
It's innovative and it's not made to became rich.
But it's funny to be part of this project.

If you already got some hdd surely you got profit.

If you are gonna think to buy 10t of hdd it's totally a crap.
Better to buy BTC and make trading.

Example: I bought 2 btc and bought 1 btc of litecoindark and 1 of fibre at launch.
Already made 2 btc of profit.

If i had to buy 4 hdd,wait for them,wait for plots, wait for roi and hope that the coin will not die after 1 month, or at least price will not rise resulting in millions of bagholder at 300-500 satoshi,well it's not my strategy.

Everyone choose theyr roi strategy.

But however,BURST is such a fresh in altcoin world.

Just like investments in the stock market, it's all about diversifying your portfolio investments. In the crypto world, it's about the same but you include mining too.

if more POC coins would come out, he would have an advantage position for sure

like every coin, the best profit is at launch

That mostly true in the crypt world.

Total of 37 TB plotted across 8 HDD is completed. Estimated Average of 27.5K Burst from tomorrow onward. At rate of 0.00000355* 27.5K, tomorrow I'm should receive 0.097625 BTC to my BTC-E account. POC forever.

2 New PCs are set up and now waiting for my 12 HDD each of 6TB to arrive in next few days.

talking about not making ROI lmao

It's like buying a AMD 295X, when you can buy for the same price 3~4x 280X/7970.

Quote

I hope you realize that next week you wont be getting 27,5k burst everyday.. more like ~10-15k/day (if even that) and falling day by day...

anyone buying HDDs to mine this and hope to ROI is crazy... The same thing has repeated itself several times and becoming a miner has always in every single case been worse than just buying the coins.. simply because you wont ROI unless the coin gains value.. which means you shouldve just bough it instead.

Wrong.
Difficulty is decreasing a lot.
10 days ago was 4 peta.
Now just over 3 peta.

That's always be fluctuating per block bases. It will increase over time as people finish more plots.

Why do you keep spamming with this?

It does get annoying after a while. 12x 6TB, that's about $3600 after taxes. At the current rate, if it stay the same, he'll only make about $500~$700 for 30 days after ROI. Everyone knows that the network storage is growing everyday.

That is also assuming the drives are plotted for those days, correct?

I think we should encourage all to join the network, for security and difficulty increase.

I'm not discouraging him from helping the network, but I want him to know the economics portion too. I got 4x 4TB hdd's for $516 after taxes, 6TB hdd's aren't TB/$ efficient compared to 3TB and 4TB hdd's.
