Too culty for my taste. This protocol is only a tool, after all. Sure, it's a great tool, but if I went to $100 conventions for every great tool in my life, I'd go broke.

Maybe Satoshi is another species with much higher intelligence trying to change the way we do finance since they are realizing how outdated and fucked up our global finance is operating.
Maybe Satoshi is.. Bruce Wayne!

When, not if. Changes nothing for me personally, I'm holding out for that 300k bitcoin, AKA the point at which fiat murder-papers are removed from the goods-exchange equation entirely.

Do you think this study is true? Aside from adoption, is there any possible way to help turn the tides for cryptocurrency? When speaking of future tense, you are not asking if something is true, but if a prediction is believed to be accurate.

You can do anything for bitcoin, just like you can do anything for cash. The problem is... you can find people that will accept cash easier than you can with bitcoin.
Not in the porn community! They are welcoming like a warm anus.

This is what happens when you become an enemy of the state and they need to make an example. See my sig.

Ross Ulbricht stole my bagels the other day at the grocery store, I clearly had my eye on those bagels! I was about to reach for them!
Damn you Ross!

Nuclear armaments, so I could dismantle them before they find a reason to fulfill their purpose.

My theory: Satoshi is among us. He's running some kind of bitcoin business e.g. exchange. That's not a theory any more than Christianity or Flying Spaghetti Monster is. A theory is a supposition or system of ideas intended to explain something. A good theory is based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained. What you have is a baseless conclusion is search of potential evidence, as you have presented none. Crap thread, 0/10

For those that didn't see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIZEy5dJ6x4Gavin predicting 'chaos and drama' mentions Bitcoin in the same sentence with 'hightech startups that often fail' You don't even need to read between the lines ... And here we go with chaos and drama hardfork ... Great story bro, thanks for sharing! You're gonna go far.

I'm losing interest in your thread.

Hmm, alot of animosity and venom in this thread posting. The peasants and slaves will always resent the lords and masters. What we have today is a situation wherein millions of peasants are collectively waking up to the fact that they are not free. The anger and righteous indignation you see on display here is the natural consequence of mass disillusionment. It's all just a little bit of history repeating, cycles upon cycles.

So, guys... can bitcoin be allowed to continue or should we cut our losses? What a silly question. Unlike fiat, Bitcoin isn't backed by nuclear warheads that could wipe out life on planet Earth thirty six times over. A sane question would be, "can nation states be allowed to continue or should we cut our losses?"

I can sense the level of sarcasm, OP is trying to achieve by making this post. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) It's satire, not sarcasm.

Hold.
that won't change anything Every additional person holding increases the exchange value. Conversely if no one was willing to hold, it would have no value. Hoarding your bitcoins won't increase the value. (...) Unless what you mean is actually 'not selling'. I didn't know there was any way to interpret "holding" other than "not selling". Perhaps your reality is different from mine... Are you able to hold something you do not already possess?

No, but blockchain technology may one day transcend the need for government, along with state violence. Perhaps some sort of sovereign internet hive mind will emerge. Or we can all burn in nuclear fire because we trusted (any) nation states with the power of (and competence in ethical duty to keep secure) WMDs for one day longer than we should have. Worse still, given exponential pace of technology, it is conceivable in the near future that 3 people in a garage will be able to build a homemade weapon of mass destruction. Certainly if true general AI emerges within the next few decades. Bill Gates recently said we need a world government. I'd like to believe that if we had one, their first act would be to dismantle all nuclear arms wordwide, and ban them forever. related: Virtual currencies can challenge the sovereignty of statesBitcoin: Economy of the Eternal Now
