We had to send an urgent payment for our business and we sent it with extremely high fee of $150:

https://blockchain.info/tx/5eee35fffbb3f9c1bbaec1ad51b67bb3362351480807580fbbb5fd083d859225

Does it make any sense? Is Bitcoin that unreliable?

 Huh

It looks too much expensive.I am using blockchain wallet they charged me about $20 for sending $300.so it maybe problem with your wallet.

We use Blockchain, that's what they asked for, based on this:

https://bitcoinfees.earn.com

Priority actually was for 1300 Sat/Byte, we took it down to 1100 and that was the fee.
Anything we did wrong here?

That's a very excessive fee

When it's about business we cannot save costs, we had an urgent payment to make (yes, in Christmas day), the issue is with the seller, we promised not to make them wait for too long but it's a disaster - you can pay $500 in fees and you would still get the transaction processed like anyone else.

How does ShapeShift send BTC to you with only $20 of fees?

Looks like posting in this forum helps because finally there is a "1 Confirmation".
We're so unpleased with Bitcoin, too bad we have to use it to convert it to Bitcoin Cash to pay our members using BCH because at least with BCH each transaction costs a few pennies and not over $100 !

Bidding Bitcoin Cash stopped after adding to Coinbase and an unusual price increase.
An update from Coinbase CEO @brian_armstrong https://t.co/bNeOAgjHBl
Just wow, price on GDAX went to the moon close to $9500

That was a glitch in gdax and you know it. Trading was stoppped as soon as they noticed the problem, I have read where only a few transactions actually were made, it is in no way an indication as to where bch is heading.

As to the title of your thread https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoinobituaries/?

Coinbase is just a website, you don't have to use it.
We don't use it to buy Bitcoin neither.

The headlines about Bitcoin Cash with Coinbase are simply irrelevant and meaningless.
1547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD for small payments, Bitcoin Cash is the FUTURE on: December 21, 2017, 10:05:49 PM
We cannot pay our members payouts via Bitcoin anymore, this is completely impossible.
We sent payments ranging $1 - $10 with fees of $2 - $6 already 5 days ago and these payments are unconfirmed.

We are going to change our approach and be among the first businesses that pay in Bitcoin Cash and stop paying in Bitcoin.
It's just impossible to work with Bitcoin anymore.

Are you guys wondering why people move to Bitcoin Cash? It's not only because of speculation, it's because Bitcoin in its current form is a dead zombie walking in Crypto land.

now people have moved to bitcoin cash because bitcoin prices are very expensive, besides the number of bitcoin around the world is getting less. at this time people are choosing altcoin instead of bitcoin because bitcoin will be destroyed.

If those high fees will remain like this it will be destroyed.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM GET-PAID.COM [DEC 21, 2017]

Dear members,

Due to the massive problems with the Bitcoin network which are mainly high fees and long time for payment transfers - as of today we are NO LONGER supporting Bitcoin payments.

Instead, you can cashout your payments from us using - BITCOIN CASH - using Bitcoin Cash you will get your payments faster and without high fees at all.

Please note - if you choose to use Bitcoin Cash - YOU MUST USE A BITCOIN CASH ADDRESS - by all means DO NOT use a regular Bitcoin address because if you do - you would lose the funds and we won't be able to resend them to you.

So if you choose to use Bitcoin Cash please ensure you use a Bitcoin Cash wallet, only BCH Wallets please, we are no longer paying to regular BTC wallets - only BCH is accepted from now on.

Happy 2018 from Get-Paid.com!
1549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD for small payments, Bitcoin Cash is the FUTURE on: December 21, 2017, 04:46:39 PM
Bitcoin is the big thing like gold or maybe diamonds, and nobody use gold or diamonds for daily payments.

Nowhere in satoshi's vision was Bitcoin to be used only for expensive things. And right now I don't think there is a single real business that uses it as such. All current real users are making small payments, and this market is dieing. I'm not saying BTC Cash is the future, because it's not. It has the exact same problem. But unless these transaction fees are not lowered only speculators will use BTC. And no coin can survive long term with just speculators.

Some people see Bitcoin as speculative means to speculate and make easy gains.
It's just an utterly idiotic thing to do and to look at Bitcoin as speculative "Gold" and not as means of payment.

Officially as of today we stopped supporting Bitcoin and we pay our members in Bitcoin Cash, it's officially done.
1550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD for small payments, Bitcoin Cash is the FUTURE on: December 21, 2017, 05:45:46 AM
why do not you wait for a while until bitcoin recovers? Today bitcoin hurts. it's because many users are selling bitcoins.
I speculate one of the factors why many people move to BCH is because of the expensive fee.
and I am sure that when bitcoin recovers and gets up, altcoin BCH and other will drop back.

We cannot "wait for a while" whilst our users send us emails complaining their Bitcoin payments were not received even tough we spent fees such as for example $5 to send a $1 payment to one user or another, it doesn't make sense and it's not reasonable for us to continue with this not even for another day.

Businesses like ours rely on the technology but we need it to work, and we have given it too many chances, but as business owners we can tell you this is not only bothering our business solely, this is a major problem and if there is no quick fix then we have to move on.

If you are sure Bitcoin will recover then good for you - as we mentioned before we are not here for speculation, and we are not investing in BCH in order to make money but we simply use it as means to pay our members.

Yes, Ethereum, Ripple and others are also options we consider, but for now based on a Facebook survey we conducted in our Facebook page most respondents have asked for Bitcoin Cash, and that's what we would proceed with.
1551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD for small payments, Bitcoin Cash is the FUTURE on: December 20, 2017, 12:53:25 PM
It's funny.People complain even when bitcoin price is so high.I understand your point OP.I wonder you waited this long to switch to BCH chain, you should have switched to it much earlier.BCH will too have the same problem sooner or later and another problem of centralization because of bigger blocks.LN is the future.Once it is implemented properly in Bitcoin,it will allow BTC again for micro transactions due to offchain low fee payments Smiley I personally will not switch to BCH because of people behind it.I will keep Hodling BTC  Roll Eyes

The Lighting Network is not going to happen:
https://localbitcoincash.org/news/7/How_Did_Bitcoin_Get_So_Messy?_Bitcoin_Cash,_Bitcoin_Segwit,_Bitcoin_Gold,_Bitcoin_S1X,_Bitcoin_S2X

Dogecoin started as a joke and made massive gains.
BCH is no different.
1552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD for small payments, Bitcoin Cash is the FUTURE on: December 20, 2017, 12:24:02 PM
I don't think bitcoin cash is any better than bitcoin... The fees are roughly $1 for a quick transaction... bitcoin cash is 5X cheaper than bitcoin, so it bitcoin cash was $15,000 then the fees would be roughly $5... thats not much better in my opinion, only about 1/2 - 1/3 the transaction fee.

Im more looking forward to SEGwit 2X on the 28th, I hope that will be the adopted coin that gets used, it is almost like bitcoin version 2. Much better than bitcoin cash the alt coin

Who said Segwit2x will happen on Dec 28? Do you have a reliable source? The Twitter for it has only 500 followers.
1553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD for small payments, Bitcoin Cash is the FUTURE on: December 20, 2017, 12:08:24 PM

So every time when there is problem with BTC transaction you open such thread and declare BTC dead in some way,and also promote BCH as some new miraculous cryptocurrency. The team that stands behind BCH with their leader Roger Ver is partly responsible for this situation in a way that try to stop full application of SegWit which is activated almost 4 months ago.

You can also offer your users to be pay in LTC,DASH or maybe DOGE-situation is not good regarding BTC transaction in this moment but we need to adapt and make more pressure on exchanges to start using SegWit.

The CoFounder of Bitcoin.com has done it, what's wrong with that?  Huh
1554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD for small payments, Bitcoin Cash is the FUTURE on: December 20, 2017, 10:15:17 AM
Bitcoin's current utility as a currency is declining, but still its demand as an asset/store of value is increasing.

Bitcoin is like Altavista Search Engine in 2000.
It was booming, everyone was using it but today nobody even remembers what it is.

It's good for now, there is a big hype, but without resolving its core fundamental issues it won't survive.
1555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD for small payments, Bitcoin Cash is the FUTURE on: December 20, 2017, 07:15:04 AM
Yeah Bitcoin is a store of value like Gold. Do you can use gold for daily payments? No.
Do you can shares for shopping? Threra a lot of good coins for small payment and daily use.

A few months ago we could use Bitcoin with reasonable fees and reasonable confirmation time.
It's no longer like that.

We don't care if it's virtual gold, similar to it or what's not.
All we care about is making payments to our users with reasonable fees and reasonable timing accordingly.
1556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD for small payments, Bitcoin Cash is the FUTURE on: December 20, 2017, 07:04:45 AM
I am wondering about the reviews in the media. They show shops and restaurants, where people pay with Bitcoin. How do they get managed to transfer little amounts with lower fees? Maybe they have services with their own miners?

That's very interesting ... if you go to eat in a restaurant and pay $60 for a good meal, would you pay $40 in fees to pay the restaurant?

It's probably going to die anyway, you cannot use Bitcoin to make small payments ... the only ones who buy Bitcoin now is for speculation, and we don't want to affiliate our business with speculation, high fees, 5+ days to confirm small payments and more.

Bitcoin is dead for small payments, simply dead ... and it could be dead in general because it doesn't serve its purpose anymore.

If the fees in Bitcoin were measured by % with a cap (like PayPal does) then it would have been reasonable, if transactions would have been processed on a FIFO basis (first in first out) then it would have been reasonable - but the current shape & form of Bitcoin is just unfeasible.

And we have no interest to pump, dump or affect its price or value, our only interest is to make small payments without any hassles whatsoever.

1558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the huge drop in value - 15% as they say ? on: December 20, 2017, 06:51:02 AM
A cofounder of BTC said that BTC is useless and that people should invest into BTC Cash

Can you Newbies stop mixing up the facts?! This is simple shit to not get wrong.

There is no official cofounder of BTC. The founder of BTC is Satoshi Nakamoto...and he's made no such public statement. He hasn't made a post on this forum for 5+ years.

The cofounder of BITCOIN.COM the website, wallet, exchange, news aggregator and forum...someone who's been a HUGE supporter of Bitcoin Cash since June or July said....blah blah blah doesn't believe in bitcoin blah blah blah.

The hunch is that he's dumped his Bitcoin and bought Bitcoin Cash. He's running up the price to bring hype and attention to the benefits Bitcoin Cash has over Bitcoin's deficiencies.

Seriously, guys, get the fucking facts straight.

We saw it and we have decided to move to Bitcoin Cash.
We cannot make small payments to our users anymore with Bitcoin.

Payments we made 5 days ago are still pending, these are payments for $1.00 with fees of $2.00

Bitcoin is now officially useless for small payments.
Bitcoin Cash charges only $0.04 to send a payment in any amount which is reasonable.

We would probably make a big announcement about it in our site later on.
Please understand the CoFounder of Bitcoin.com might say "blah blah blah" in your own point of view but many businesses will follow suit, paying a $30 fee to send funds is simply unacceptable.
1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Changelly.com - instant exchange. VISA/Mastercard accepted. on: December 14, 2017, 09:12:54 PM
957bde2fae79 - we sent NEM and it showed "Waiting for Payment" - contacted Changelly - they replied within hours and fixed it.

That's GOOD support unlike trading platforms (e.g. Bitfinex) that don't reply to emails.

Thanks Changelly!
