Setup masternodes for profit!

Is this coin about anonymity or profit?  Sounds like masternode network is about profit.  Look what greed caused.

masternode network is wrong direction to take for future anonymous coin.

Wrong. Creating an incentive for a decentralized network to host coin mixing is the only direction to take. Everything else relies on trust of individuals or vulnerable central servers.

Maybe we should all abandon Bitcoin and every other coin if decentralized solutions are the 'wrong direction'.

How is decentralized when only a few run the masternodes?  Some people on here talking about setting up their fifth masternode.  Most people don't have the money to support a masternode so masternodes stay in control of the wealthy.  Just like current banking system.  Then most are hosted on same VPS provider.

These are my thoughts.  I'm not here to spam thread.  I hold DRK myself but fortunately I sold most during the recent highs.  I bought DRK a long time ago hoping it would succeed.  I have never liked the masternode network idea and never will.

I do hope that this coin recovers so that many people that invested will not lose.

As much as this hard fork problem is a bad thing, Darkcoin is still miles ahead of the competition. No other coin is working on incentivising decentralised masternodes to host coin mixing. XC is interesting but the dev operates the nodes. Still miles behind. MRO/QCN have bloat and are clones of BCN.

The incentivised decentralised masternodes system is still the game changer. The bugs will be ironed out, it will just take a little time.

Darkcoin will reach above $40 per coin by June 10th, don't say I didn't warn you.

Feel free to message me on that day.

No it won't.

How can we know/be sure that one pool is one the correct fork?

Next Network Block    75,225    (Current: 75,224)

Dev's official block explorer or pool will be chosen as main block chain.

http://explorer.darkcoin.io/chain/DarkCoin is stuck at 75202 for hours but
drkpool.com is at 75256

75256 is and will be the main block chain.

Our pool is on the same block chain as drkpool.

http://darkcoin.miningpoolhub.com

How do you know which is correct, if there even is a correct chain? Who died and made you King? What defines "correct chain?" The one you mined the most on?

Civil war breaking out over correct fork?

People mining on coinmine.pl are going to be disappointing.  They're finding all the blocks and getting many coins. But those coins are worthless.

The more I think about it, the more I think this small road bump we encountered today was actually a blessing in disguise. We got rid of all the weak holders who joined the past weeks to make a short term profit. Now the the original supporters are left, the people who believe in the fundamentals of this coin and are in it for the long term. This can only be good for the stability of DarkCoin.

Could it be an intentional move by our mastermind developer, or am I giving him too much credit here?

You serious?  How you get rid of weak holders when nobody can sell coins?

And original supporters are not enough to keep coin alive.  You need new all the time.

COINMINE has 26% of the network on the WRONG FORK

If mining there, STOP.

Here is a pool on the correct chain. http://mining.darkcointalk.org

Yes wrong fork.  What a mess.

Just wanted to add that these trolls might actually love darkcoin and want to drive the price down to buy more for themselves. Humans, are so crafty.

The price will go down regardless.  As soon as the markets open dark will get dumped.

Lols, had it on the previous page before you even posted it...

PAY ATTENTION, STUPID PEOPLE!

You constantly calling users of this coin stupid is only going to drive people away when you need them the most.  Without users this coin is nothing.  Your attitude will only hurt this coin.

STUPID PEOPLE are what hurt this coin. I'm glad to see them folding their house of cards.

Being a nancy boy is not going to purge the weak. Fuck off.

I'm not calling users stupid. I'm calling stupid people stupid. If some stupid people also use this coin, I want to be rid of them by 1 of 2 possible methods as quickly as possible:

1) They stop being stupid and join the rest of us in thinking-person-land
2) They bail and I buy their DRK.

Either way, I win. Go be a sissy somewhere else. I love the brutality of the truth.

I'm not a sissy you child.  I will not bother to engage your ignorance.

1571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 20, 2014, 08:25:16 PM

PS Re: logo contest. I regret I didn't send at least 1 MRO for the bounty so my voice would actually mean something. But I have to say it's very, very sad to look what's going on. One word: greed. I really appreciate all the work devs did with Monero, but this logo contest...

Actually he did it again, the bounty on 99designs was $500 this morning, now it changed to $300. It's a shame because I like the coin and its technology.

Where do you get $300 figure?

As already been stated by others, the winner will still get 300 MRO if that is what they choose.  I don't think any greed is involved.  Things are happening fast and the people behind Monero have much to do.  Could the change of contest venue have been handled different?  Perhaps, but I don't see any greed/scam behind the decision.  As has been stated by others, the 300 MRO bounty can be chosen by the winner.

There is no issue here.

1572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 20, 2014, 05:56:17 PM
Hello,

I am shitting in your thread.

Monero held a contest for logo design where they offered 300 MRO, solicited over 60 designs and asked for changes, then cancelled the contest. They're now running a new one on another site, with all nine pages of designs, feedback and revisions submitted on bitcointalk up for other designers to draw on for inspiration.

Scummy, isn't it? If you offer money for designs, and you're given designs, you pay what you said you'd pay. Period. If you made a mistake in setting up the contest, you PAY for your mistake. You should have paid for your mistake in MRO for a design that you might not think is perfect, but which you then own outright and take elsewhere to tweak. This is what ethical people would have done.

But you've chosen to pay for your mistake by using your reputation as collateral. So...

Fuck you, monero, your team doesn't deserve support or respect. I don't care if this clusterfuck of a design contest came out of stupidity or malice, you've shown you don't know what you're doing. If you can't run a simple design contest with a shred of integrity, then you SURE AS FUCK can't properly develop a cryptocurrency that you expect the whole world to latch onto.

Hmm, 60 designs submissions and only one complaint about moving the contest to https://99designs.com/logo-design/contests/monero-mro-cryptocurrency-logo-design-contest-382486 to get more submissions.  There is nothing from stopping you from refining your logo and submitting to this site.  I just looked and it appears that several people have already done just that.

A logo contest contest doesn't pay for designs, it rewards the winner of the contest.  The contest isn't cancelled it is still ongoing as there has been nobody with a winning logo.  Nothing is stopping you from submitting as many logo's as you want to that site.  You can still enter and win if you design the winning logo.  Do you expect to get paid for just a submission?  Because that doesn't happen anywhere.

MinerGate cryptocurrency mining pool now supports Monero mining!
To start mining Monero on Minergate you just need to sign up and download a multiplatform miner.

Monero, please add MinerGate to your pool list in the original message.

Minergate uses CLOSED SOURCE SOFTWARE for their pool.  Monero devs, pool developer and numerous others have been working hard to create the OPEN SOURCE mining pool code.  Please support the Open Source concept and keep your miners pointed at one of the Open Source mining pools.

Can someone please tell me how do I transfer coins from my simplewallet to exchange?

Click "Generate payment ID" button on Poloniex, then do the command:

Code:
transfer 0 <your_deposit_address> <amount> <your_payment_ID>

Must I type the command all the letters? There probably appear mistakes.  I just try to copy into the command line but i cannot. Can the command be pasted?

If using Windows one of these methods will work:

Can i send a payment using MSWindows without having to type the recipient's address letter-by-letter? 'Cause no copy-paste works inside the cmd wallet window.

any help would be appreciated!

Right click on the title bar at the top, then go to edit, and paste should be there.

Or alt + spacebar. Edit ==> paste.

Is there a guide somewhere on how install the wallet in debian?
I have installed libboost on my system and now get the following errors:

./simplewallet: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.19' not found (required by ./simplewallet)

Have you installed all dependencies?

Hope this is rally can sustain on gradual uptrend & not a dead cat bounce
EDIT: oops, sorry tacotime

Believe you me, this is a dead stinky cat. Dump it while it's worth something.

What is your problem?  Nobody instamined anything.  The Ann was posted but didn't attract any attention because it didn't have a fancy logo so people like you ignored it.  Now that the coin is doing great and you missed out all you can do is complain.  I am not a dev but I was mining in the beginning because I knew the technology behind the coin was sound and that it had a future.  I was right.

If you smell anything stinky it's you.
