If it's causing you stress re-evaluate your position. I own much less than I had before but also have much less stress than before. I found that advice helpful. Since I unloaded 50% of my DRK holding and entered back into the BTC (at $300.00 even) I felt great. It feels better to make than to lose money Than I started to trade this upswing. My mindset is a long-term but I got so pissed at missed opportunities and was making quite a buck or two. I used ll my trading profits to buy back Darkcoin, no matter the price. I was deliberately putting buy orders a notch above the market price, for shits and giggles, but have immediately realized it makes me itchy, losing the money even on these "new" positions in DRK. So I sold them at loss, bought more BTC at $400.00 even and felt great. I still have a substential amount of Darkcoin so it eats away my overal portfolio's profit but I now can live with it. I also lowered initial 50% - 50% DRK / BTC ratio to 44% DRK - 56% BTC and will keep doing it until I will have only ("only" for me who was 100% in Darkcoin) 25% DRK in my crypto portfolio. Back to the good ol' days of risk management. But yes, this price movement is maddening thus far...

Can we take the time to thank the individuals involved in our twitter presence despite any negative opinions? Come on, man, I've done my deed. But I can't really be honest thanking anyone for doing something I deem hurtful for our cause.

I did like your analysis though, wozzek23, which I think I remember you posting months ago, no? or was that someone else? Yap, that was me; only that I have a different avatar there. The name was either taken here or I've forgotten which e-mail I used for it You made some extremely poignant comments over on dct regarding the twitter approach. I'm disappointed that none of your advice seems to have been taken, and have resorted to filtering my #darkcoin twitter search results. He gets an A+ for effort, but all that creative energy and effort could be spent generating much more light than heat. Would you give me A+ for effort if I'd go down the Fifth Avenue yelling to everyone - "buy Darkcoin," "get into the Darkness," etc., etc.? Nope, it would've been a waste of time but MUCH less damaging than spamming the Twitter. Do you know how some people are attacking competitors online? (competing websites, that is) By negative SEO attacks; they create gazillion spam links and Google dismisses both the links and the website. We are all very sensitive to spamming nowadays, when 99% of online traffic is pure garbage, these A+ efforts are in fact F- efforts, given the frequency of spamming. Listen, I have a friend heavily invested in Unobtanium. He knows the key developer personally. Only one tweet of that guy, only one, extremelly negative attack on Darkcoin a while ago made me ditch all of my UNO and buy DRK That's the power of IMAGE one projects.

If you don't agree with the individual's approach, then direct your concern to members of the foundation. They are ultimately responsible for marketing and the person in question is at least trying which is more than can be said by most people who own DRK who post on here. I am not a Twitter marketing police for Darkcoin, I tried to help as much as I could on Darkcoin Talk. The Foundation members were included in the discussion on the Twitter and it is up to them to decide how to proceed with PR efforts. I also provided them with quite a few ideas for it so... Also, I would not feel comfortable "denouncing" someone who tries and is working all the time, despite my opinion he's doing it wrong. I could be wrong in my evaluation of his efforts as well, right? Here, at the other hand, we're engaged in a discussion. I see people attacking that _sciencerocket guy and his decision to sell his Darkcoin holdings "based on spam". While I put the lottery guy on ignore, not to be bothered with his spam messages, this tweeting issue is also interesting to ponder. It is the overall feeling a bunch of tiny details give to someone, anyone...

" Along with that clown that surfaces every 5 minutes with his nonsense twitter account spam"
This is uncouth. The gentleman behind that twitter account is working hard for something he believes in and a large portion of the DRK community are grateful to him for it. He invests a lot of time and effort into this coin because he holds a belief that you do not hold yourself. You called him a clown. That is not particularly respectful or polite. I personally feel that an apology is due. See, I had various, serious discussions with "that gentleman" on http://darkcointalk.org/ where I provided him with a bunch of suggestions regarding the best Twitter practices. (based on studies and researches about Twitter campaign's efficiency, not on my opinion) He did not adopt a single one but kept spamming. I KNOW the people support that, I understand we like to see our beloved coin mentioned on Twitter, but compare "All" vs. "Top" results while searching for #darkcoin and you'll see how his twits disappear in the later. That tiny detail, of having one of the most vocal supporters of the coin I myself support (some of my friends followed my investments in DRK and ended up fully invested and quite unhappy thus far) acting not fully responsible, driven by the most noble feelings and fervor instead of reason, was yet another element that made me make a decision discussed several posts above. Such a Twitter feed might, for some, look like a desperate attempt to promote something that is not of real value that grows on the merit of its quality. So, see, even someone I liked, whose efforts I tried to support was a part of the overall bad feeling about near-term Darkcoin price's future. (just the price, not the technology, with a worry over the image it projects) But, even with 50% DRK 50% BTC I feel a tad better. And I will keep holding enough DRK to support it, to make a nice profit it goes up (and than I would NOT sell it, on the contrary) and if it goes below 0.0045 I will buy another bundle. So it is not that bad after all

The only thing I didn't like was his uncouth behaviour. DRK will rise back to its recent "stable zone" in a day or two imho. I was a staunch believer in Darkcoin - and most assuredly I still am a believer in its tech superiority - mostly because of Evan and the community that is really great. Alas, I also prefer to see profit over the loss. So, once Bitcoin has fallen below $300.00 I decided to go 50% - 50% DRK vs. BTC (I purchased enough Darkcoins below 0.005 to make a sell with the profit) and am now very happy with my ongoing profit on Bitcoin. I will stay in Darkcoin for principal reasons. But I will never make a mistake of getting too emotionally involved with the idea (I was 100% in Darkcoin) that might not survive. The sheeple are a bunch of idiots and they flock together. Bitcoin is an ideal tool for the Overlords (being, basically transparent) and I am positive it would end up being a mainstream currency, accepted, adopted and corrupted by the Financial Crime Cartel, this way or another. When I initially analyzed Darkcoins monetary value I came up to this formula: * 22.67% of the world's economy is shadow economy; * if Bitcoin is (controlled) and DRK not; if 100% of all legal transactions are made in BTC, 22.67% are still left for DRK * on May 29, 2014, DRK = $10.96 vs. BTC = $614.38 * on May 29, 2014 DRK / BTC 0.01811 * on May 29, 2014 BTC MC is $7,885,362,984 * on May 29, 2014 DRK MC is $47,580,747 * DRK / BTC MC ratio is >>> 0.603405919 ( on May 29, 2014) * if DRK goes to parity of 1 DRK = 1 BTC, DRK MC would be 2667567714 * 1 DRK = 1 BRC gives DRK MC of >>> 33.82923029 % of the BTC MC * 22.67% shadow economy vs. 33.83% max MC ratio ~ some DRK = 0.80 BTC is kind of a max value for DRK So I still believe there's a possibility for Darkcoin to survive and thrive and if I am going to make money in the future, in crypto, on FOREX, working, inheriting (yeah, right) I will increase my DRK position, but for now on I will focus on having only 25% of my portfolio in Darkcoin. I'd rather buy more at $15 ++ in the future than at $1.93 today. Why's that? Because at $15 it would've been confirmed that Darkcoin adoption may have a chance. Today it is too risky. But, at 50% - 50% I already feel better Good luck everyone. Just my 2 cents. Shrug them at will.

looks like no alt coin will ever come back. Crypto currency is dead. Precious metal is dead, and the inflatinary stockmarket and $ market is the ultimate asset. No place for any currency outside the $. NA and Europe is bankrupt and banksters are still playing their games and scam out the last penny out of middle class people. Work as long as you are able to work for big companies for nearly nothing and maximize their profits until you are broken or catched by cancer.
Yeah, everything is dead. We're all dead, in a long run. Despite being dead myself, I just bought some more Darkcoins, for the fuck's sake, if nothing else. This is the most exciting freedom & privacy related technological development in ages. Enjoy being a part of it and stop whining.

How is that even remotely accurate with Darksend? I'm well within the top 100 but I am not going to show up because my coins are masternodes. You're correct - I was too hasty. However, the volume is fairly thin for the last several days. I can't fathom who'd be buying immense amounts of Darkcoin under the circumstances...

So here we are. Maybe some big money is taking a position in DRK... Does not seem so. Darkcoin's rich list has not changed recently and there are no real big moves there https://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/#!rich

hey guys...
I am thinking about creating a mascot for darkcoin... sort of an animal like creature. What are animals who are commonly associated with darkness or hiding, etc?
Bat.
Mole. (creates tunnels, etc..) what other creatures can you think of?
While the idea of creating a mascot is great, I do not think it should go toward "darkness" and "hiding" -- Darkcoin is Private e-Cash for the future that enables our privacy and as such is POSITIVE! (hiding implies something negative, no?) Just my 2 cents. Shrug them off at your will.

Hello DRK comrades!
I have a little bit BTC (0.3 something, yeah I know I'M poor) Please advice me an exchange site. I'm using cryptsy but the volume there is too low. I'll try to learn trading. I know I'll be losing but I'd like to learn just for the fun of it. 0.3BTC is not much I think. If you want real fun with your 0.30 BTC, get UltraCoin client by Reggie Middleton and start losing the money by playing swaps. "UltraCoin is capable of trading the value of over 75,000 global tickers in every major and many minor asset classes and markets."

Just one post and you know exactly why Darkcoin should be the best by far. Come on, at least I have more posts at Darkcoin talk and have been investing for a long, long time. One has to start somewhere, no?

Darkcoin is by far the best developed alt-coin ever. With its RC5 Launch (today) and upcoming INSTANT confirmation no one could touch them. (should you wish to know more: "Transaction Locking and Masternode Consensus: A Mechanism for Mitigating Double Spending Attacks Document version: 1, published September 19th, 2014" @ https://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/InstantTX.pdf tells you all you need to know)
