Dear back seat drivers,

If you think you can do it better than whoever you are moaning about, why don't you get on with it? It's an open source project, everyone is free to contribute!

Sincerely,
Those of us who are actually doing stuff.  Kiss

Plus one million.  If you hold DRK (or not!) and have something to offer, get involved and offer up your services on DCT.

If you don't have DRK and help, you never know, you might get tipped Cheesy

You know, this thread really gets annoyingly boring when people decide they have to justify their decisions to the rest of the world for whatever they do.  I don't mind the analysis, but the stupid "I don't like him so I'm going" tantrums just make you look stupid.  Really, keep it to yourself, and seriously people, do you really care?  Do you need to answer?

I have so little time to come here, and when I do, it's 50/50 chance that I get something good to read (something funny, informative or enlightening)  The rest of the time, it's ugh!

I did like your analysis though, wozzek23, which I think I remember you posting months ago, no? or was that someone else?

And I wouldn't be surprised one bit if sciencerocket is actually shojayxt trying to get more attention since we all have him on ignore.

You're spot on Tante.  I'm pretty guilty of this.  Especially in this recent shouting match over a whisper. Apologies to all involved.

If you don't agree with the individual's approach, then direct your concern to members of the foundation.  They are ultimately responsible for marketing and the person in question is at least trying which is more than can be said by most people who own DRK who post on here.

I am not a Twitter marketing police for Darkcoin, I tried to help as much as I could on Darkcoin Talk. The Foundation members were included in the discussion on the Twitter and it is up to them to decide how to proceed with PR efforts. I also provided them with quite a few ideas for it so...

Also, I would not feel comfortable "denouncing" someone who tries and is working all the time, despite my opinion he's doing it wrong. I could be wrong in my evaluation of his efforts as well, right?

Here, at the other hand, we're engaged in a discussion. I see people attacking that _sciencerocket guy and his decision to sell his Darkcoin holdings "based on spam". While I put the lottery guy on ignore, not to be bothered with his spam messages, this tweeting issue is also interesting to ponder. It is the overall feeling a bunch of tiny details give to someone, anyone...
You made some extremely poignant comments over on dct regarding the twitter approach. I'm disappointed that none of your advice seems to have been taken, and have resorted to filtering my #darkcoin twitter search results. He gets an A+ for effort, but all that creative energy and effort could be spent generating much more light than heat.

sorry for being touchy, LOL, I'm really mentally exhausted and haven't done anything to help in a long time.  I hope to catch up on what's going on when I come here (because it's all in one spot, easier than checking out dozen threads on DCT (see there is usefulness to BTC!) and I got nothin, LOL.  So ya got a grumpy old lady here.

Tante, I don't know you or much about you but one thing I do know is that you are somebody who shouldn't be apologising for expressing a reasoned and balanced view.  Expressing a valid opinion doesn't make you grumpy, or old, or a lady for the sake of completeness.  From my newbie perspective, you are the voice of reason who intervenes when things get silly now and again Smiley

So if you run a MN 24/24h every day you get about 200DRK per year?

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied

A projected view based on current values would be 317DRK a year.

In reality, as the coin has been through several phases of iterative development and piloting, the returns have been lower.  However since RC5, the masternode payments have returned to a random distribution model that will probably pay you between 200 and 317 DRK per year per node.

Masternode payments are currently being tested to work on the basis of sequential payment (as I understand it, I stand to be corrected) so you might soon lose out on the luck factor in return for some more reliability of payment.

********** Amber Alert ***********

Smash & grab commencing on Bitstamp. 545 shot BTC panic buy just gone through in a single transaction. Pushed the price to $383 post the 4-hour chart correction completion about a couple of hours ago.

Looks like we may be revisiting $400 imminently. Short squeeze in full flow. This is the kind of thing that panics people because they're happily trading in fiat one minute - next thing they know they're kicked out of the market.

Addendum: BTCe trollbox reflecting that Bitstamp is now a porn site

Other news: China joining in the sentiment. Liquidity on Huobi getting munched the moment it appears.

What this means for us: Darkcoin is at a multi-month low. Well undervalued due to last few months of Bictcoin decline sucking capital out of cryptocurrencies. Major capital is now coming back in. Bitcoin has added nearly half a billion dollars to its market cap in 7 days. That's going to start finding its way into recapitalising the alts in turn with the top 10 benefiting most. If you want to wait for lower Darkcoin price, be my guest but it just became a higher risk strategy than yesterday.

Further addendum: Buying commencing on DRK markets. Bittrex recovering after its dip to 56. Volume coming up and 58 resistance now being eaten.

Yap, that was me; only that I have a different avatar there. The name was either taken here or I've forgotten which e-mail I used for it Smiley

He gets an A+ for effort, but all that creative energy and effort could be spent generating much more light than heat.

Would you give me A+ for effort if I'd go down the Fifth Avenue yelling to everyone - "buy Darkcoin," "get into the Darkness," etc., etc.? Nope, it would've been a waste of time but MUCH less damaging than spamming the Twitter. Do you know how some people are attacking competitors online? (competing websites, that is) By negative SEO attacks; they create gazillion spam links and Google dismisses both the links and the website.

We are all very sensitive to spamming nowadays, when 99% of online traffic is pure garbage, these A+ efforts are in fact F- efforts, given the frequency of spamming. Listen, I have a friend heavily invested in Unobtanium. He knows the key developer personally. Only one tweet of that guy, only one, extremelly negative attack on Darkcoin a while ago made me ditch all of my UNO and buy DRK Smiley

That's the power of IMAGE one projects.

Can we take the time to thank the individuals involved in our twitter presence despite any negative opinions?

Come on, man, I've done my deed. But I can't really be honest thanking anyone for doing something I deem hurtful for our cause.

Is there a way to get SMS or email notifications when a masternode gets paid or if balance changes? It shouldn't be too difficult to create a system like this if we don't already have it.

I wrote a program in python to do this. Most cell phone companies have a system in place where you can send an email to your-phone-number@xxxxxxx.com to have it passed on as a text message to your phone. My program monitors the wallet balances on a website and messages the info when balance increases. It needs some refining and touching up, but have been meaning to get around to posting it.

That would be very nice i think. Perhaps also would act as an additional security layer/early warning system for the Darkcoin community.

I'll get back to work making it look pretty and work easily for other people. In the mean time you should be able to accomplish the same thing by combining these two things...
