I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS GOING ON WITH DARKCOIN .IM SO DISSAPOINTED ITS LIKE DARK BEING RAPED BY A BEARWHALE ..THE SELLING ITS GOING ON LIKE THERE IS NO TOMMOROW ..HOW CAN SOMEONE SELL ON SUCH A LOW PRICES..WHAT IS THIS FREAKY MANIPULATION THAT IS HAPPENING BEHIND DARKCOIN?? WHO IS TRYING TO KILL DARKCOIN?? IM SO CONCERNED ON THE WAY THE THINGS ARE WORKING FOR DARKCOIN RIGHT NOW..HOW CAN AN 68 BUY WALL GET FILLED IN SECONDS BY SOMEONE DUMPING ON 0.0056? i am sick of it also,i sold everything a few days ago and bought back in lower yesterday and feel like i should not have bought back in now,i got exited again,i think the coin is great but really there are some things i dont like,very low trading volume and price gets lower and lower without sight on improvement,frustrating to say the least,i lost a few 0.xx BTC sinds yesterday,why o why did i buy again  I think i will setup a masternode and just forget it,sell the rest i have @ my buy in point price,and never buy more. My logic says when there are new Gpu's on the market with 20nm technology from AMD and Nvidia we might see a improvement in mining and more coins on the market(if there are FPGA miners or Asics i dont know).But without the miners willing to mine Darkcoin this coin is dead,the price must go up for them for them to make any money,thats why most of them are mining anyway to make money.Here lies the difficult point,if Darkcoin rises to $10 or more it will take a lot of money to buy the masternode's we need for the network,we might never reach the amount of masternode's with that price.  |

Yep best strategy is to just keep whatever you can keep without caring too much. I offloaded most of my holdings around .008-.009 because I'm simply sick of the way this coin trades. It may be successful in the long run but I'm not holding a large stake in the meantime.

I think part of the problem is that people treat this thread as the only source of info on Darkcoin. It seems that some holders have literally no idea what the next release is going to bring and how some of these problems will be solved. |

I was thinking it would be bad ass if once we were ready, people could buy what would basically be like giftcards of DRK from gas stations and what not. Maybe it would work through a website that once they entered the code from the card, if it was a 5$ card, the address on the card would be sent $4.70 worth or something. I originally thought of it when we were discussing dark-tor, 5$ anonymous internet cards. But people could use it for porn or whatever they are ashamed of. I guess having more adoption would help.

Hey guys, i say it again. What do you expect from a really new coin.
Remember, whole cryptos is in a ugly downtrend since beginning of 2014.
DRK does not exsits at the time the downtrend started.
Look at all other coins were born in 2014. They are all dead !!!!!
DRK is the gamechanger but as long as no fresh money and no new user enter crypto market
no coin expect BTC will survive.
There is a big pressure on DRK as it is on of the last minable coin that is worth mining with CPU
Because there are buyers. Have a look at VTC. Very good devteam, good concept and ... Dead .
So took the big picture together and you will see DRK did well !

Undecided I think you've all got the wrong end of the stick. People have become obsessed with the DRK/BTC ratio when in fact it's Bitcoin value against the dollar that's going to make or break this entire industry. What's the point of DRK going to 4 times its DRK/BTC ratio if Bitcoin's USD marketcap collapses to a quarter ? We are not independent of Bitcoin. Dark IS Bitcoin - just another flavour of it and without BTC, we ain't goin nowhere. At the start of this year I'd have had a much more open mind about this. It wasn't at all clear if Bitcoin was going to survive the barrage of competition it was starting to face from Alts. Litecoin was expected by many to go to a quarter to a third of Bitcoin's price (parity in marketcap terms). Alt coins (including DRK) were seen as competing currencies, not complimentary. As it happened, things turned out a whole lot differently and even I was amazed. Despite all kinds of advanced tech and every type of alternative thought out monetary policy being thrown at it, no coin even made a dent in Bitcoin's marketcap. I suspect we've now reached game over stage in terms of looking for a competitor. Bitcoin is too far down the line in terms of infrastructure, retail adoption, legislative support financial services support and other "network effect" aspects. We need to now see ourselves as complimentary rather then competitive and ride the Bitcoin wave. Bitcoin's marketcap is our marketcap - according to the DRK / BTC ratio. Right now 0.005 may not seem much, but if Bitcoin hits even $10.000 (which it must do to satisfy projected liquidity requirements if it's going anywhere other than history) then a 0.005 BTC ratio for a 5 million coin supply corresponds to a dollar cap of a cool half a billion. ($500,000,000). Put another way, a single masternode holding would be worth around $55,000. In that case, a DRK / BTC ratio change of a mere 0.0001 (say from 0.005 to 0.0051) would amount to a thousand dollar gain. We've got to stop naval gazing and see the big picture: either Bitcoin's going somewhere or it isn't. If you decide it isn't then fair enough - but don't think any other alt is either. If you decide that it is then hang onto your DRK for dear life cos the ride's going to get wild once we hit the next big wave. |

Since I unloaded 50% of my DRK holding and entered back into the BTC (at $300.00 even) I felt great. It feels better to make than to lose money  Than I started to trade this upswing. My mindset is a long-term but I got so pissed at missed opportunities and was making quite a buck or two. I used ll my trading profits to buy back Darkcoin, no matter the price. I was deliberately putting buy orders a notch above the market price, for shits and giggles, but have immediately realized it makes me itchy, losing the money even on these "new" positions in DRK. So I sold them at loss, bought more BTC at $400.00 even and felt great. I still have a substential amount of Darkcoin so it eats away my overal portfolio's profit but I now can live with it. I also lowered initial 50% - 50% DRK / BTC ratio to 44% DRK - 56% BTC and will keep doing it until I will have only ("only" for me who was 100% in Darkcoin) 25% DRK in my crypto portfolio. Back to the good ol' days of risk management. But yes, this price movement is maddening thus far... |
