Nope, new version does the same thing Sad

Oh sorry when I said "working on Lion" I didn't mean the app was working on Lion, I mean that I was working on lion. Going to download the new version now and see if that fixes anything Smiley

Edit: still doesn't work:

1564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scrypt Miner-GUI for OS X on: July 12, 2012, 02:12:35 PM
So glad someone is developing this! I also had the same issue as film2240 though Sad
1565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC][PPLNS][Pool] eWallet Pool | 60 LTC per BLOCK!!! on: July 11, 2012, 06:37:15 PM
I programmed a widgit for monitoring your account on the pool--including an alarm sound when your hash rate drops to zero, so you can fix the issue Smiley Let me know if you find any bugs!
1566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC] New PPLNS pool up !! eWallet Pool | 60 LTC per BLOCK!!! on: July 10, 2012, 06:47:54 PM
Rolling in a new special! The user that mines the 500th block gets 250LTC for free! In addition, the user that mines the 1000th block gets 250LTC as well!
1567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC] New PPLNS pool up !! eWallet Pool | 60 LTC per BLOCK!!! on: July 10, 2012, 06:17:45 PM
we are now paying out 60 LTC per block, instead  of 50 !

That's great, but could you please clarify? For a PPLNS pool I don't see how this would impact the BTC you get per share.

PPLNS still splits the earnings from a block among people based on hash rate, essentially. Adding 10 LTC essentially modifies the block reward just like a block-reward-halving would, but in the opposite direction--giving everyone more coins Smiley.

1568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC] New PPLNS pool up !! eWallet Pool on: July 09, 2012, 07:00:04 PM
We also now have an ad spot available at the top of the webpage! In addition, you can, for a small fee (PM Greedi for this Smiley ) Get your username in the pool stats list to be a hyperlink to anywhere you want (so you could have a link to your website where your name is) Smiley.
1569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC] New PPLNS pool up !! eWallet Pool on: July 09, 2012, 04:31:11 PM
Hello and sorry everyone about the recent downtime! We hit 30mH/s, and it was just a bit too much for the server to handle.

We now are back up and running strong, and will upgrade the server hardware very soon! We are running smooth with very low stales again, and are available on the #eWallet IRC channel if you need any help with configuration/setup/have any questions Smiley

We should have our new hardware soon, and Greedi made some backend optimizations to help balance the load of miners Smiley

Thanks for understanding, happy mining!
1570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Help me fix my solo-mining and I'll give you coins! on: July 09, 2012, 05:23:17 AM
Have you tried pool mining to see how the stales turn out there?
1571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Help me fix my solo-mining and I'll give you coins! on: July 09, 2012, 05:13:51 AM
so 7970 doesnt work with reaper?

While it *works* with reaper, your only going to get around ~550kH/s (which isn't bad, just isn't what you'd expect from the card...).
1572  Economy / Services / Re: BitVPS! Premium KVM VPS / Virtual Dedicated / Dedicated Servers for Bitcoins! on: July 08, 2012, 10:29:36 PM
Got a BitVPS service for hosting a litecoin pool (mine.liteco.in) and have been extremely impressed: Fast setup, helpful staff (thanks James!), great prices, and fast servers--getting great performance/price ratio.
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC] New PPLNS pool up !! eWallet Pool on: July 06, 2012, 10:48:33 PM
Rolling in a new special! The user that mines the 500th block gets 250LTC for free! In addition, the user that mines the 1000th block gets 250LTC as well!
We now also have a widget!

mine.liteco.in features:
    - Low stale rate
    - Responsive Website
    - 0% PPLNS
    - Get your wallet and mine all with one service (mine.liteco.in is a sister site of wallet.liteco.in!)
    - Simple registration with optional email field
    - Free withdrawals
    - Longpolling
    - Personal Hash Rate Charts
    - Charts for Block Luck
    - Web-based IRC for support
    - Automatic [1-500LTC] or Instant Payouts available
    - No tx fee for withdrawals
    - Only 80 block confirms--not 120! (Will be back soon!)
    - Transaction history
    - Simple Navigation
    - #eWallet IRC Channel (Announces when a new block is found, and by who!)

We just opened up! Our stale rate is good, and 0% fee and no transaction fees make it so you can get the maximum bang for your hash, so to speak. Accounts are easy to set up and workers are easy to manage. You can create a different worker for each computer (or even one for CPU mining, one for GPU mining on the same computer) to easily track when a computer/miner goes down and needs a reboot. The 80-block-confirmation is very good--less waiting between you and your precious Litecoins! Lower confirmation period length allows you to withdraw your litecoins much sooner to when you actually mine them. PPLNS helps to fight pool hoping, which helps you, the miner, to maximize your profit by not letting others get more than their fair share for what the contributed, working in your favor.

We also now have advertising! You can purchase the advertising spot smack-dab at the top of the webpage! PM Greedi for more info Smiley As well, we also now can, for a small fee, set up your name in the pool stats as a link to your website if you wish! PM greedi about this as well Smiley

Widget:
You can download our widget to see your stats and some pool stats!

http://mine.liteco.in/widget.php

eWallet Dashboard Widget
This widget allows you to monitor your account and see pool stats. It has a built-in alarm noise when your hash rate drops to 0 kH/s, in order to alert you your account's miners are down. It updates once a minute with new information.

Setup eWallet Dashboard To setup the eWallet dashboard, simply download the appropriate version above and extract the folder to it's own location. The windows executable is a .exe, just double-click to run. Note: if you have trouble with the application crashing on startup, download the universal version, and, in a command prompt window (Start-->cmd--->Enter) "java -jar " then drag the eWallet.jar file from the universal package into the command line and press enter. The universal (mac and linux) is a set of two jar files, just double click "eWallet.jar." In linux, you may want to open a terminal and type "java -jar " then drag the jar file into the terminal to get it's full file location. Once launched, the program will ask you for your api key. You can find this on mine.liteco.in, under the My Account drop down, click on "Account Details." Your API key is listed right under your user ID. Copy and paste this into the application window asking for the API key. Press "Enter" or click "OK." On subsequent starts, the dashboard will ask you if you would like to use the same API key as earlier. Note: the universal version will run FINE on Windows, but with the windows version you only have to worry about one file Smiley.

FAQ:

1.) When was the pool launched?
The pool was launched on July 6th, 2012.

2.) What makes this pool different?
To start off, we also host a litecoin wallet service, so you can mine and store your bit coins with one service (wallet.liteco.in). In addition, we only require 80 confirmations of a block instead of 120, so you can get your litecoins 33 1/3% faster than other PPLNS or Proportional pools. In addition, it is a 0% pool, meaning you get to keep all of your earnings. If you feel like giving back to us a bit, you can set this donation percentage yourself to something else. Smiley

3.) Why do we need another pool?
Never hurts to spread the hash rate around, making sure no one pool is in the position to be able to do a >50% attack.

4.) Are the wallet and pool on the same page?
No, the wallet is at wallet.liteco.in, the pool at mine.liteco.in. However, both services are run by us, so you can mine and store with the same people, less party switching Smiley

5.) Can I use one service without the other?
Of course, you can withdraw from the pool to any litecoin address, and can deposit litecoins to your litecoin wallet from anywhere Smiley.

6.) How do I exchange Litecoins into Bitcoins or USD?
For this, head over to http://btc-e.com/ to check out litecoin trading to other currencies. Also vircuex is an option.

7.) Can I have multiple accounts?
Of course, although it may be simpler to make multiple workers in the same account.

8.) Does my withdrawal address lock in?
Not at all, you can change your withdrawal address at any time.

9.) Where can I get help?
Greedi and I are commonly on IRC (eWallet). As well, you can contact us both on these forums with a PM, or as a reply to this forum post. Greedi is on IRC much more than I am.

10.) What do you run this server on?
We run this pool on an awesome server from BitVPS--very impressed with performance:price ratio Cheesy.

Come on in! Smiley
1574  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Question About People Cheating Pools on: July 06, 2012, 04:36:49 PM
The blocks have a checksum built in as part of the hash if they alter the block the hash is changed since the checksum will be off and it won't be a valid share anymore.

Most pool run an alternate blockchain that build towards a valid block. Each share difficulty is different from the a actual bitcoin chain, you can't submit the shares directly.

The most you could do is flood the server with invalid shares or withhold a winning block.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up.
1575  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Question About People Cheating Pools on: July 06, 2012, 04:15:02 PM
Hello. I know none of the current softwares support this (and that's good), but what stops a person (aside from integrity and will to see pool mining work) from checking each hash they submit to see if it is the solution to the actual block, and if it is holding it for themselves, solving the block, then continue submitting shares that aren't the solution, effectively giving them all their hashing power at a pool, and then also giving them all the rewards they would receive from solo-mining. This would seem especially deadly to PPS pools...

It's very possible, but there is no reward to the person that is doing it. They can't claim the block as their own, so they would only do it if they intended to be malicious to the pool.

Oh alright, good to know. So even though they have the "winning hash" they wouldn't be able to create a block with it?

Hmm... just got my Single today in the mail (excited!!). Easy miner, however, only lets me choose the radiobubble for "Administrative Options". All the others are greyed out. I can, however, mine with BitMinter, and firmware upload works great. How do I enable mining straight from EasyMiner?

In addition... I ran diagnostics, and kinda surprised at the results. 34 throttles (my room is cold... 68F), and 5 errors on the 100 test :/. Did I do something wrong? Sad

Check to see that the heatsink's fix pins haven't worked loose in shipping.  If the heatsink is firmly in place, then run the auto-tune feature to get your unit at peak performance relative to the operating environment.

Tightened the screws a bit, trying again Smiley  I tried autotune but after about an hour it still wasn't done so I stopped the autotune process... how long is it supossed to take? And I keep getting this:

2012.07.05 [15:12]  BitFORCE (COM4) ERROR: Extraneous data received: NO-NONCE
2012.07.05 [15:14]  BitFORCE (COM4) ERROR: ZFX command timed out. Retries: 0

when did you order your single?

I ordered my single ~30th of April, 2012.

Auto-tune must not be aborted by force, since it updates the firmware from time to time. If aborted during firmware
upload, the unit needs to be reflashed, since the data in it's flash is no longer valid and the unit won't process or initialize.

Regards,
BF Labs Inc.

Alright, how long should auto-tune take to finish then?

For each firmware that is being tested, about 200 jobs are processed. If during any of that 200 jobs,
the unit throttles or produces a bad nonce, then AutoTuner immediately proceeds with updating a slower
firmware. This cycle continues until for some firmware, the 200 jobs are processed without any errors
or throttles. That firmware would be reported by Easyminer as the stable firmware for that unit.

Regards,
BF Labs Inc.

Thanks for clearing that up! One last question, is EasyMiner supposed to support mining, as the radio buttons for that are greyed out...

We're working on that part as we speak.

Regards,
BF Labs Inc.

Ahh, thank you  Smiley

Auto-tune must not be aborted by force, since it updates the firmware from time to time. If aborted during firmware
upload, the unit needs to be reflashed, since the data in it's flash is no longer valid and the unit won't process or initialize.

BF Labs Inc.

Alright, how long should auto-tune take to finish then?
