1362  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: 0.13BTC reward to get me litecoin mining on: October 07, 2012, 02:25:20 PM
And you are looking at 1600 shaders for the 5970, make sure you are using that number Smiley
1363  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: 0.13BTC reward to get me litecoin mining on: October 07, 2012, 02:24:51 PM
Tried two pools, and the newest cgminer 2.7.6

restarted my bitcoin rig, then tried the .bat file with scrypt

and gives me a pool error which I know is wrong

3x5970's. I only have 2gb onboard ram, win7 64-bit

0.13BTC reward to get me litecoin mining at a good rate obviously. mining page shows 750khash/s with 5970

I think i have drivers 12.6. I am using onboard video as main display, first gpu as secondary

Have you tried CGEasy? http://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,36.0.html

1365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin after bitcoin asics on: October 06, 2012, 07:23:08 PM
after release of bitcoin asics, bitcoin difficulty will skyrocket, as we all are aware of, but what impact will it have on litecoin, as a second most famus crypto-currency?

im guessing most of the gpu hashrate will go to litecoin, infact im 100% sure of that, and difficulty will also be raised by a factor of 100 atleast.

now the big question is, will those new liteconers just dump , or will we see some sort of LTC bubble happening ?

your opinions ?

cheers

I personally wouldn't be surprised if a Litecoin bubble happened, I do expect the hash rate of Litecoins to go up a lot between now and next year at this time, but a factor of 100 seems a bit large. Possible, though!
1366  Bitcoin / Project Development / [Gauging Interest] Mining Panel For Client-by-Client on: October 04, 2012, 11:53:10 AM
Hello everyone. I am putting the finishing touches on my last programming project (still got some work to do, but yeah). I was thinking a bit today about what I was going to do next, and I had this thought come to me, something I have seen implemented to some extent before, but different. I thought about a Mining Panel, a GUI-frontend tool that does a lot of things for small-time miners (people like me, I want this program for myself, lol). This would not be your average mining panel, however. It would cater to small-time miners who don't have large farms (who likely already have similar, more complicated solutions). It would combine ease-of-use with more advanced, optional features.

-Easy eight-click mining setup on Windows (with NO prior knowledge but a pool account)
-Setup/config files to dictate mining policies
--->%hash power to each pool (as dictated by amount of time spent pointed at each pool in a one-hour period)
--->Modules (from both me and 3rd parties) anyone can write with a bit of knowledge that the program queries for config changes
-->Remote-login abilities
-Based on a core of CGMiner
-Custom command line arguments for cgminer (optional...)

Modules:
Modules are things that either I or the community could make. Essentially, my program would query any module in the "modules" folder for any changes in mining. I will release technical details as to exactly how they communicate when the product enters beta stage, most likely. Modules could do anything from connecting to a custom webpage (modules could have configuration files as well for each) and grabbing data to querying a database to anything else. Modules would be jar files.

The software for remote logins to your miners could have multiple miners that it monitors, possibly doing some form of alert when one goes down, as well as of course having access to each miner and changing configs over the internet, or over your own network.

Just wondering if people see this project as interesting, something that I should pursue Smiley

More than likely, he is doing just a 1BTC test payment for making sure the system is working correctly before dumping 300 BTC into a system he doesn't know will work right.
1368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [TUTORIAL] Solo Mining Litecoins Guide--Windows! on: September 21, 2012, 11:51:56 AM
I wrote my own port-scanning application.

Anywho, if it is listening, have you tried connecting another 3rd computer up? Does that run fine?

You wrote one? cool.  I found a suitable one, but I'd love to try yours out.

Anyhoo, I have solved the "missing" header problem.  I upgraded Catalyst 12.6 (from 11.12).

Now the hashes seem low, but I've heard that I need to give it time to show true kH rates.

Perhaps I'll post mine soon, working on cutting it down to just a port-scanner for a competition Smiley (Not anything special, just checks what ports are open, but is customized for ease-of-use on my end)

Yeah, upgrading drivers helps solve a lot of problems, but also seems to decrease hash rate a few percent.

Did it ever go up to what you expected after an hour or so?
1369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [TUTORIAL] Solo Mining Litecoins Guide--Windows! on: September 19, 2012, 11:31:42 PM
Yes, computers are on the same internal network.

Have you tried scanning that computer from your other computer (that computer being the one that is 192.168.1.27) for port 9332 being open?

I don't know how to do that. I just googled it, and downloaded 1 utility, but it doesn't seem to let me scan ports that I wanna scan (9332). I will continue to try other utilities, and update this post.

But before then, how do YOU scan for open ports on an internal network?

EDIT: I found PortQry from Microsoft.  I was able to determine than TCP port 9332 on 192.168.1.27 is LISTENING.

I wrote my own port-scanning application.

Anywho, if it is listening, have you tried connecting another 3rd computer up? Does that run fine?

I go to run reaper.exe the first time, and I get:

calclCompile failedError: Creating kernel search failed!
(dateTime stamp) Error: Error building OpenCL program

Anyone got any advice?

What driver version are you using?

I assume you are asking about my GPU driver... It's a 5770 running the 8.850.0.0 from 4/19/2011... the automatic windows driver search says it's up to date.

Hmm... try downloading the latest ATI driver (12.Cool, and let me know if that works. Smiley
1372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [TUTORIAL] Solo Mining Litecoins Guide--Windows! on: September 19, 2012, 12:04:10 PM
Things are a different now.

(i made a post on forum.litecoin.net but the DNS isn't resolving right now)

It turns out I got your tutorial and someone else's confused.

I can solo mine with on my 2nd computer with your setup.  So I want to mine to my other computer, from my personal one, but it's not working.

I set up my router's port forwarding of 9332 to point to my 2nd computer, at 192.168.1.27.
I set up litecoin.conf (on that pc) to accept two ip's: 127.0.0.1, 192.168.1.*.
I start cgminer with -o localhost:9332 and works beautifully. In fact, I've already found a block.

On my PC, I run cgminer with -o 192.168.1.27:9332 but it doesn't do anything.  It stalls after it finds that the pool is alive.

Hmm... both these computers are on your internal network, correct?

If this is the case, then I don't think you need to do any port forwarding. Have you tried scanning that computer from your other computer (that computer being the one that is 192.168.1.27) for port 9332 being open?

1375  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] 100 BTC Pirate Debt for 5BTC on: September 18, 2012, 02:18:51 AM
I was absent from the forum for a while and before that I left about 6000BTC in a PPT set to reinvest  Angry Very stupid idea.

So I came back and see it's all gone, but I would gladly take 5% for it since I don't think Pirate will pay anything back.

I'm only looking to buy 100BTC of debt, but if you want to sell me 100 of that 6000, I'd be happy to take that 100 off your hands. Who do you have it invested with?
1376  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] 100 BTC Pirate Debt for 5BTC on: September 18, 2012, 01:49:32 AM
Just shut the hell up.

I'm sorry, what's wrong? I simply think there is a fair chance pirate may pay back, so I'm interested in having a little fun.
1377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [TUTORIAL] Solo Mining Litecoins Guide--Windows! on: September 17, 2012, 10:59:43 PM
Hi. I am trying to mine litecoin with your setup to no avail.

I have been mining bitcoin for over a year on this 6870 with no problems.
I have a 4 core AMD processor.

With ScryptMiner, I can get 10kh/s with 6 threads, less at higher threads. (is that good?)
Reaper doesn't even work.

I am trying it out on my personal desktop, which I use the 6870 as well as a smaller 4000 series, to run 3 monitors.  I want it to use the main GPU, which is device zero. So in the config file I put "device 0" w/o quotes. I have lowered my aggression to 9, and still, it hangs at:

Compiling kernel... this could take up to 2 minutes

Any suggestions?

cgminer sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. I am very confused. Please help anyone.

Very weird... what slot is the 4000 series in on?
1378  Economy / Goods / [WTB] 100 BTC Pirate Debt for 5BTC on: September 17, 2012, 10:55:18 PM
Hello! Do you have around 100BTC of debt with pirate that you'd be willing to take the insanely low price of 5% face value for? If so, I'm in the market to buy 100BTC worth of Pirate debt for 5BTC, which is 5%.

Never mind, purchased.

Where on the hkbtclending.com website can I find my deposit number?

Ah it is in the url (and I think it is your user number). I am 505.

Not your user number, I have multiple deposits in the past that were all different numbers.

I have received (principal - interest already paid) for deposit number 109. I'm guessing deposits are being paid back in order - anyone had anything higher?

Ahh, my deposit is 448, sounds like I'll be here a while lol. Sad
